Awesome !!

Loved Becca and Connor’s story. Intrigue, danger, steamy chemistry and love makes this book very hard to put down. I was captivated by their journey. A romance that melted my heart by the how Connor protected Becca. If you want a book that will take you on a journey then this is a book you will love. I highly recommend this book.

Born to Protect

This is a great beginning to the Elite Force Security series with Connor, from Elite Force, reconnecting with his childhood crush Becca. He had not seen her in years and their last time together was the night that his father was arrested for the ponzi scheme he had been running but got caught. She works in Washington for her uncle, the senator. She lives with her cousin, Kassady. Something was going on with her cousin because she kept catching her in lies. Becca ran into Connor at a coffee shop near her work and they set up a date to reminisce. They never expected to reconnect where they left off but the sparks were still alive. Then the story gets exciting as the company where her cousin works reports her missing and hired the Elite Force Security company to find her. Becca was with Connor when he received the call and then someone tries to kidnap Becca. They were trying to use Becca to get at her cousin but Connor was not letting anything happen to her. The Elite Force protects her as well as assigning Connor as her guard as he takes her to a safe house. He had to kill hired assassins to keep her safe before the police arrive. This story was action packed as they get to the bottom of her cousin's disappearance and Kassidy is arrested along with her partner by the Elite Force, Police and the FBI. In the meantime Becca and Connor realize they have fallen in love and get their happily ever after at the end. I highly recommend this new series and am looking forward to the next exciting romantic suspenseful release.

Great protection

I was extremely happy to read a love and protection book that did not go into graphic sex scenes. I loved that the two main characters played this roles well and would recommend this book, especially to young women so that they can register in their minds and bodies how important feelings are in the prevention of horrible happenings. Too many naive women these days play very uncertain roles in their own lives and cannot handle situations. Seeking help is paramount! The protector in this story is wise beyond years. This may not be the premise of writing this story but it sure speaks to me in that way

What did I come out of this book with? Well, I read a book that felt very middle of the road for me. I found myself more willing to read bodyguard romance books in the future which wasn't the case following the previous bodyguard romance I read this year. But overall I wasn't connected to the characters or the storyline. The thing I would probably most associate with this novella is some sort of Bodyguard AU. I would almost say it's a Criminal Minds Bodyguard AU, but that might just be because I've watched Criminal Minds and this story takes place in Washington D.C.

I actually liked the bodyguard aspect of this story. Probably because this girl could actually kind of take care of herself. Obviously she's not trained to do so but having taken a few self-defense classes she can do more than stand there and cry (which is such a low bar to have to get over, but here we are). I liked that he really knew how all of this worked and the best ways to protect her. And he wasn't instantly going to Alpha mode just because she disagreed with him sometimes. His internal monologue was telling us he was willing to do that if it was necessary, but it was never the first thing he reached for when trying to get her to understand how her safety was in jeopardy. I also liked the side characters and the security group they're all a part of. I checked the synopses for the other books to make the decision on continuing the series and I just don't think I'm interested enough in the plot. I'm hoping moving forward that I can find books with a similar structure with an improved writing style for the whole Bodyguard Romance of it all.

I didn't enjoy the writing style. That's probably what dragged the rating down so much for me. It was self-published so I don't want to dog on it too much. I think it would have gotten a better rating from me if it had gone through a few rounds of edits with a traditional publisher. But the over explanation of character movements or reasons for character behavior really started getting to me by the end of the novel. Just show me what the characters are doing or feeling. Describe how the character's throat tightened up when they realized their sister went missing. Explain the feeling of his thumb brushing a tear drop off of her cheek. Something to make me feel it. Because that's the second biggest issue I had with this one: I didn't feel it. I wasn't attached to the characters, I was never worried by the plot. I was there and things were happening and then it was over. Which feels so harsh to say. I wanted to care more.

Overall, it was good, not great. It made me more willing to try out Bodyguard Romances so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Next month's attempt at Trying New Romance Subgenres will be a "Dark Mafia Romance" or at least that's what the synopsis on GoodReads says.

It’s been sixteen years since his father was caught and convicted of investment fraud, and while Conner Anderson finished high school and went off to Harvard, he soon left that life of privilege and joined the Marines. From there, his service record has some serious holes in it, but now he worked at Elite Force Security Services for the last two and a half years. On the other hand, Becca has worked here for the past four years as an assistant to a senator, and it has been sixteen years since she has seen Conner. She remembered that night in the boat house when her older sister opened the door and said the FBI was at Conner’s home. That was the last time she had seen him, but now, as she sat next to this man, she realized it was him. Maybe he would not recognize her, but he did, and before she knew it, they had plans to see each other again.

It could happen! I liked how the author split the plot lines and gave them room to breathe before coalescing. It gave the world a bit of extra flavor, and the character interaction helped build upon each.

If you like your knight in not-so-shiny armor to ride in and save the day and give the heroine a happily ever after, then you just might like this read. I give this romantic tale five stars out of five stars.

Love Security Forces and Romance!

This is the first novel by Christina Tetreault I have read and I am now sure it won't be the last. In fact I have already queued the next book in the series on my Kindle so I can start it as soon as I finish the review. I have always liked reading romances that figure hunky sexy security guys as the main character. Ms. Tetreault has a way with creating believable characters and Connor Anderson ,the hero of Born to Protect, I can imagine what it would be like to have him guarding my life! YUM! While I would have preferred a little more details in the sex scenes I appreciated that sex and romance did not overwhelm the plot line. The suspense kept me interested enough to refuse to stop reading until the book was finished. Housework can wait while your trying to figure out who the bad guy is. Yet finding your true love and living happily ever after is just what a woman wants in a romance novel. Christine Tetreault has just the right amount of sexy romance we all love in a good romance book. I highly recommend this book to all my romance loving friends!

3/5***. This is a 2nd chance romantic thriller novel that didn't tick all the boxes for me. Suspicious events were happening to keep the story interesting but there were gaps in the storyline that bothered me. The couple bump into each other again years after leaving high school and the author nicely describes their rekindling interest. But then, their romance takes a back seat to the mystery.

The MCs are both originally from wealthy families and much of this book is spent telling the reader what every family member is currently doing and where they are living, including step parents and siblings.

Connor, who now works for an elite force security company, begins to investigate his gf’s break-ins, accidents and assaults. Becca, is working for a senator and is naive to the danger around her. The couple discuss exactly what security steps are being taken and where she is going to be, which isn't very professional or smart in my opinion.

Any romantic moments between the MCs in the latter part of the story are just inferred and occur behind bedroom doors which makes their romance an afterthought.

Another Good Series

I love reading Ms. Tetreault's Sherbrooke series. They are good light romances to read in one sitting allowing time for other things. This is the beginning of another good series. The plot was fairly interesting although a little familiar.

I love the continuing characters which makes me want to reread the other books. Connor and Becca were a cute couple who didn't let the failed relationship from over fifteen years stop them from renewing their acquaintance. The action and intrigue were spot on. There were a questions left unanswered. Why would Kassidy get involved in the theft of her lab's secrets? Did she not know that Becca would be affected? Did she not realize the danger she would put her in or didn't she care? More backstory on Becca and Kassidy would have helped.

Can't wait to read more about Elite Force Security.

This was okay...a good break from what I’d previously been reading, which I needed. I liked and disliked the same thing. The author establishes the romantic relationship between the two main characters before she entangles them professionally. I liked it because it made it more believable that their connection was more than adrenaline and shared danger. I didn’t like it because at 25% if the way through the book I was wondering when the plot was going to start. I’m not sure a real life man working for a security agency would be the one providing security for his or her own boy or girlfriend or family. I also don’t understand why the reader was in Dale’s thoughts the last time this occurs in the book.

good

Becca comes from a wealthy family and works for a Senator. Her stepsister lives with her but is always gone and now she is missing. Connor is former military and works for Elite Security, a protection company who also finds missing people and secret ops. Connor hasn’t seen Becca in years and he runs into at a cafe. Ever since his father was arrested and convicted he has had nothing to do with anyone from his former life. When Becca is almost kidnapped, Connor will not let anything happen to her. The hunt for her stepsister is on but someone thinks Becca knows her location and will do anything to get her.

Fast paced action. Long ago friends reconnect. Will keep you turning the pages until the very end.

WTF was she thinking!! This woman has a very good job and she can't stop doing stupid shit and apparently she doesn't think much about her own family especially her own step sis she lives with welfare. But Becca runs into a man she's loved his high school by accident and he's finds out that his every day job is even more so cause of the only woman he's ever felt anything 4 his high school when they had a sm fling. It's x that things went and bit her sis in the ass especially after everything she's went through and the others she partnered with from her past. I can't wait 4 the next one 2 come out asap!!

I may be in the minority, but I did not care for this book. The plot had potential, but it just wasn't well executed. Time is frequently jumbled, and it's sometimes hard to tell the difference between what's happening currently and what just happened. Things that should have time on the page, such as like the resolution to the conflict, are told after the fact. Instead, there's far too much detail about unimportant things completely incidental and with no bearing on the plot.

All the same, I appreciate being given the opportunity to read a free copy through BookBub. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion.

In Born to Protect ~ Elite Force Security ~ Book 1 Becca André ran into Connor Anderson in a coffee shop after he left his home town at the end of the summer after they graduated from high school.

He is now a member of Elite Force Security group. Becca's stepsister goes missing and things quickly change when a kidnapper makes an attempt on Becca. Connor group is called in to help and she becomes his priority to protect her.

Born to Protect has a hot military hero, lots of suspense and adventure. I read it in less than a day and enjoyed it and look forward to more books in the series.

What a Great Beginning to the New Series - Elite Force Security
Connor is with the Elite Force when he runs into Becca in a coffee shop. She is his childhood crush so they enjoy some catchup time.
Becca's stepsister Kassidy lives with her and lately Becca has been catching her lying to her. Then suddenly Kassidy is missing g and someone is trying to kidnap Becca. Whoever this is thinks Becca can tell them how to find Kassidy.
This action filled story will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I highly recommend this exciting beginning
to the new series.

Born to Protect (Elite Force Security Book 1)

Becca worked for a senator in DC, had a nice house and a nice life. The only excitement in her life seemed to be her step-sister who Definately had a better love life going for herself than Becca could even think about, if what she says is true. Bumping into an old friend was nice and it was even nicer that they were having dinner with her tonight, who knew where all this could go. Everything was going so well, until her step-sister disappeared. This was a 👍GREAT 👍Read!!!

Usual suspense romance mix

The blurb of the book was quite well written so there is no need for me to recap and bother anybody with my amateurish summary of the book.
As an avid reader of suspense romance I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed by this book. The classical storyline and plot development didn’t grip me. I missed the excitement and action in the suspense part and the atmosphere in the romance part. Although the book was very descriptive, it failed to convey any pull between the main characters and thus the book reached its end rather uneventfully. What a pity!

A political thriller

Set in the District of Columbia, this is a convoluted trail of deception and betrayal mixed with a second chance romance. The female principal is a bystander to the action, and the male, naturally, works for a private company protecting
the innocents. Several bloody deaths occur at the hands of the "good guys" but are not horror filled, so beware if this bothers you. All in all, I'd recommend this story to non-sensitives who enjoy professional protective heroes with a political twist.

Wow what a brilliant start to a series

Wow what a brilliant from Christina and start to a series. I didn’t know what to expect with Connor's story from what you read about him in Protecting the Billionaire he’s a cocky bigheaded jerk sometimes with Rock lol but with Becca he is the epitome of a gentleman and a bigheaded jerk too. Loved this story can’t wait for more from this series

First story by this author and it was enjoyable. This is a clean story with only a few passionate kisses. I just didn't feel a connection to the couple.

There is some suspense but we are left to figure out why all these people became involved in a plot. None of that was answered.

I thought the team was somewhat lax in not checking for bugs at anytime during this story.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance and no spice. (ljb)

Protection for love

Wonderful New series💕Becca and Connor are great new characters that show even though many years pass, and difficult relatives and their evil intentions won't keep love away.
Christina Tetreault, is a new author for me and this book, Born to Protect, is page turning, hot security guys, and bad guys are a great combination. With characters that grab you from the first page you can't help but keep reading and at the HEA, you want to read the next book...

I thought it is a thriller, but found out that it is mostly a romantic story wrapped around a very shelow suspense story. So if you like romance, this book is probably for you. If you are looking for a thriller with page turner and twists - forget it.
The book itself was OK . Some editing a spaing mistakes that even I that english is not my mother tongue , noticed them.
Got the book free from Amazon.

Honestly, I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I was expecting the cute romance story between a woman and her bodyguard. However, I got an amazing mystery that made me want to keep reading to solve. The protective, teddy bear alpha male is always great and very present in the main character!

I recommend if you like:
✔️ protective alpha male
✔️ cute romance
✔️ finding each other again romance
✔️ mystery
❌ Note: there is no steamy parts in this book so don’t expect it lol.

Disappointing...

The book tried to be both a romance and a political thriller and in my opinion did neither of them well.
There were so many unanswered questions related to the political thriller part of the story that the resolution the author chose was anticlimactic and still left questions. The romance felt tepid. Not anxious to read other books by this author.

This story was great. Loved the suspense and Romance. The characters Connor and Becca had great chemistry and a lot in common. You could tell that they just meshed well. The story has lots of twists and turns and things you just wouldn’t suspect happen. Loved the story and was an easy read. This series and the one it is a spinoff from are great.

Mystery and Romance

This is a mysterious but delightful read. Becca's life is in danger but when she gets reacquainted with Connor who she had a crush on in high school rediscovered he works for Elite Force Security. They have an amazing and life threatening adventure as he works to protect her. Very good read.

Great read!

Suspense, romance and intrigue, components essential to keeping the reader engaged and Ms Tetreault succeeded to do just that. The characters were interesting and well managed within the story line. It is the first book I have read in the Elite Force Security series and I will definitely be picking up more.

Good read, good characters, good story. Becca and Zane are fun to read about the couple are easy to fail for and their story is based on romance and family drama, not bedroom time. Becca needs protection, someone is out to kidnap her because of her cousin's activity. Zane wants to help keep her safe and reacquaint an old affair with Becca.
