Since the day that she was abandoned on the shores of Valhalla, and fought her way to be the fiercest Valkyrie, Erika has lived by those three words. There has never been a challenge Erika has backed down from; apart from Loki. But when Erika embeds herself in a supernatural fight club in the hopes that she can weed out Odin's location, Erika will be put to the test. And when love and loyalty cause confusion, can this battle-hardened warrior finally let her guard down enough to see what's been in front of her all along?
Loki knew the moment he clapped eyes on the beautiful warrior that she was meant for him. However, the Norse God of mischief hides a secret; he was once cursed and has shied away from his feelings to shield himself from hurt. Can he convince Erika that he's the one meant for her, will he be forced to watch the woman he wants for himself spiral out of control?
Susan Harris is a writer from Cork in Ireland. An avid reader, she quickly grew to love books in the supernatural/fantasy genre. When she is not writing or reading, she loves music, oriental cultures, tattoos, anything Disney and psychology. If she wasn't a writer she would love to be a FBI profiler or a PA for Dave Grohl or Jared Leto.
This is book 5 in the awesome Ever Chace chronicles, the paranormal criminal minds type series that just keeps you turning the pages.
As with many series I highly recommend you start this one from the beginning as each installment, although kind of focussing and developing one character, keeps up the stories on the others that you have come to know in previous stories.
For me, although Erika is totally supposed to be the star of this book, I was transfixed on Ricky's story and everything going on with him, but that is probably because he is my favorite from the series. I LOVE to see how these characters are having to adapt to the plethora of challenges that just keep coming and the fact that they are growing and changing is testament to the incredible world-building skills of Susan Harris.
All I can say is if you aren't already reading I don't know what you are waiting for!
An easy 5 stars from me and the impatient wait for book 6!
This one was definitely better than the last. It felt connected to the series again and I was so grateful to get some progression with the overarching plot. I was happy to get some hope for Ricky and that Derek and Ever are figuring stuff out.
Still quite a bit of swearing but I felt like it wasn’t as “dirty” as book 4 when talking about sex scenes and stuff.
I’m excited to see where we go next but I do hope that it ties itself up quickly because I worry that it’s going to start dragging.
All of the characters are in place. All of their roles are defined, except one. What's up with Ricky? Will he get a handle on his powers, will it come in time to assist his team? And what role well the little cat play? So many questions, so much anticipation, Ooh My, I can hardly wait to find out. Great, Excellent and exceptional writing.
A big fight is coming, but of course, Susan ends on a great cliffhanger, leavinh us thirsty for more. I loved this story of general Erika and how she discovered some things about herself. And again we learn that together we are stronger. Already pining for the next part.

Absolutely fabulous! The back stories for each character makes you weep for them as you fall further I love with each and every one of them. I really hope I do not have line to sit for book 6, and I REALLY do hope that there is, in fact, a book 6 (7, 8, 9 ...).
I have enjoyed the series immensely but was very disappointed to find that this book is not the conclusion of the series. I really hoped to find a complete series.
