Forbidden is book four in The Dragon Protectors Series and can be read as a standalone but more entertaining & easily readable if you have read the other books in this series first. Besides, they are all worth the read. These stories take place in a post-apocalyptic Earth where the human race needs to learn how to adapt. A world of dragon shifters, Immortals, and psyche controlling Elysians. Axel who's mixed race half dragon 1/2 Elysian and Freya a human are both healers and protectors. If, you read the other books in this series you will remember Freya being kidnapped by a psycho Elysian named Tibor. This is their love saga. Supporting character's crossover from previous books in this series. Axel & Freya are complex & highly compelling tenacious characters. All character's are well seasoned. The narrative is romantic and highly suspenseful. A riveting tale that is intricately weaved through a writing style that draws you in with its unrivaled & vivid web. I absolutely love this series and cannot wait for the fifth and final book in this paranormal romance series. I highly recommend reading this series and any books from this author if you enjoy Paranormal Romances with a unparalleled writing style that fits the fantasy exquisitely.

Welcome to The Living....
After being rescued from the evil leader of the Elysian Tibor by the Dragon Protectors, Freya swears to never go near an Elysian again. She wants nothing to do with them again although the Elysian and the Protectors have made a treaty and are working together to rid them of the evil ones.
On the celebration day of the treaty between the 2 factions Freya decides she needs some solitude and takes a walk down the beach. Then she sees a light and she knows what that means, someone is teleporting right in front of her which means she's being taken again. Only there is no resistance left in her anymore and all she wants is to leave the empty existence that has become her life since Tibor mind raped her. But this stranger that has materialized in front of her is more than Elysian and something about this hard figure of a man calls to her. But he wants her gone, only she won't let him leave without her and is swept off her feet, what awaits her on the other side?. Will she perish this time, or will Axel teach her to live again?

Liked it...definitely read prev books first
It does say can be read as a standalone. It CAN but I was confused. There are many characters who know each other but I know nothing about anyone. Its starts off mid story so if you want to understand anything I would read the prior stories. Im still considering if I want to go back or not.
I usually don't read dragon shifter books, no reason really, just ends up that way. I did enjoy this one had I known the plot better before reading it I would've liked it more.
There were lots of things I didn't understand not reading any prior books. They are talking about this "psychic plane" and also how this main character was mind raped. That was a shocker to read, but they don't get into details...another reason why it really isn't a standalone.

Half Elysian-half dragon Axel is on the lookout for revenge. What will happen when he meets a fierce woman in the person of Freya?
Their story is fast, full of emotions and for sure captivating.
I loved Freya and her attitude even after what had happened to her during being captive of Tibor. he is strong, loyal, full of inner power.
Axel - hot, for sure troubled MC with dual nature in himself. He was for sure intriguing hero and I really enjoyed the way his both sides worked in the end.
Their story is fast, full of emotions and for sure captivating.
I loved Freya and her attitude even after what had happened to her during being captive of Tibor. he is strong, loyal, full of inner power.

This is the story of Axel and Freya.
Axel is part Elysian and dragon and has long held back his dragon after a tragic accident that involved his mother when he was five. He's been living as an Elysian ever since with not able to feel a lot of emotion. He transports to Bombay to crash a party and kill a bunch of people in order to avenge the death of his sister, Vesta. He wasn't expecting to have his plans averted by Freya, who happened to be walking on the beach, contemplating throwing herself in the ocean and ending it all.
Freya is a human. She'd been kidnapped by the madman, Tibor, and was broken. She'd been able to hold off his psychic assaults, but she couldn't pull herself together afterward. She was ready to do the deed when Axel appears. Instead, she offers herself in return for him not destroying her clan. He agrees and teleports both of them back to his home.
He knows there's something different about her, other than she's human. He is totally captivated by her and realizes she is mate. But he can't mate with her. He's a dragon and it will kill her if he does. The best he can do is keep her safe.
I don't want to throw any spoilers in here because a lot happens in this book that seems to change the course of the series. I don't know that for sure since I didn't read books two and three, but I did read Inception (Book 1) that laid out the ground work for it. The tone has changed and things are heating up.
I am worried about Vance. He's a vampire that must be a daywalker and he's tried some sort of antidote that isn't working in his favor. The side story between him and Serena was keeping me reading just as much as Axel and Freya. Vance was introduced in the first book and I was hooked on him from the very beginning.
This is a fast moving book with a killer plot, great characters, and plenty of action that will keep you turning the pages. I loved this story and I love this series.

OH MY SHOOTING STARS!!!
Talk about jumping in head first. Whoa! This is one bad boy right here. If you're looking for a fast paced, action packed, hard hitting, page turning bombshell, congrats my friends you've found it. This has it all, from sadness, fear, violence, hatred, fury, lies, deceit, not to mention some really hot steam to carry through. The characters, well developed and so realistic I felt I could just reach out and touch them. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are so graphic and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Twists and turns abound with suspense and danger at every turn. All you can do is hang on for the ride of your life. Laxmi did an amazing job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Laxmi, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

Wow what a read, Axel and Freya’s story is great. Freya is still recovering from being kidnapped by Tibor and Vesta, thinking she can’t go on she comes face to face with a stranger who immediately sparks a connection. Axel has an agenda, revenge but things go south when he meets Freya, unfortunately his Elesian half doesn’t understand it and he won’t allow his dragon half to come out. What happens when they finally realise what their meeting means? And will Tibor use this to his advantage?
Great story, plot, characters, I love how this series continues through every book. Lots of angst, lots of curiosity, and some very sweet and sexy moments. Would recommend.

Lax smashes it again with Forbidden. A slightly more intriguing plot line than the other books and it works great.
Freya we met in a previous book as an amazing human female who drew the Elysians attention due to her psychic shield. Now we get to see her bloom in to the full beauty she was meant to be.
Axel a new character who is very interesting to say the least. He is at war with himself but outwardly has a strong sense of duty and knows where his loyalties lie.
I truly love this world that Lax has created. Don't miss out on reading Forbidden and fill in all the blanks I left. You won't regret the read. I didn't.

I got a little confused at the beginning but all of a sudden IT WAS COMEPLETLY TO ME! This book is a fast past "EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER OF A RIDE!" I was up & down EMOTIONALLY reading! I loved the book 100%! Axel & Greta were Amazing and in a few was feelings wise I believe that thanks to Laxmi's wonderful "story weaving" a lot of us can relate to the feelings each of them go through! It makes me "SIT ON PINS & NEEDLES" waiting for "SEDUCTION" to be Realeased!

Another good one
Human, Elysian and dragon. This was the most fascinating one yet! It was interesting to see how someone way out of the shifter status could be plugged in so to speak. If you haven't already read this series, I suggest you get book one and allow this to sink into your pores. You won't be disappointed! Each POV is separated so you can truly get to know the characters. That's how a book should be. It's easy to see how Laxmi brings everyone together whether in fight, flight, love and hate. Can't wait until the next one

This is a pretty good story, but it seems like all the other books in the series. Yes there are differences but its pretty much the same story. I know most stories are the same with different variations, but it just seems like this series is repeating the main characters with different names and a different way to take on the "big bad" but their relationship goes the exact same path every time. So the story is good and can be enjoyable, but how the couple interacts is annoying. I guess what it boils down to is I love the background story-line, but I hate the couple story-line.

Nothing is forbidden when it comes to matters of the heart. Freya and Axel both have so much to overcome. The instant attraction they have is so intense that Freya is willing to sacrifice herself knowing that Axel is half Elysian and she should hate him for what was done to her. I love that he makes her a stronger person to face her fears and it also helps him accept his true nature. Each of the books in this series is so unique and leaves you aching for more. Cannot wait to finish the rest.

You really want to not like axel but you can’t. He is drawn to her from the very beginning. And then that inability to hate him makes sense as he protects her and is basically a double agent for Zach. Love how kick ass Freya is. She is human it is strong and has survived Tibors torture and psyche held strong. They are the perfect match for one another they balance and draw each other’s true selves out. Loved the story. Can’t wait for Neos back story. And hope we get more Vance and Serena. Still waiting for updates on indira and Caleb.

Good Lord these stories are GREAT
I keep thinking these stories can't get better but Ms. Hariharan proves me wrong every time! Freya has been through so much because of Tibor the bad guy...then she meets Axel who's mixed race half Dragon and half Elysian and she doesn't know what to think. What a great storyline and awesome characters! These stories keep you guessing and on your toes...the passion, the hurt, the emotions! Wow...can't wait for the next!

Whew, this book is hot, hot, hot! Love has a way of doing that to you. A very dangerous Elysian, Tibor about killed Freya by breaking her mind and was after her again but Freya's, boyfriend, Axel saved her. This continuing story takes you to the characters highs and lows and is very exciting to read. Their friends were strong thriving, nurturing and characteristically explosive to their mates or enemies. Good exceptional writing. Good book

This is the best book in the series. There was tension between Freya and Axel right from the beginning. Axel has been controlling his Dragon half for so long to fit in with the logical and unfeeling half self that when he meets Freya he has trouble because his Dragon is going to surface whether he likes it or not.

Finding himself
The way he feels about her scares him, he was suppose to break up the ceremony that announce the alliance between the three cities, but instead he goes home with a human. The battle they face is nit an easy one, but one they must face to be able to find their HEA. I love these characters and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Forbidden love? Freya is stronger(mentally, not physically) than most humans. She fell in love with an Elysian/Dragon half-breed named Axel. As hard as he tried not to show emotions or let his dragon out, Axel deeply loved this little female, Freya!

Axel and Freya are connected at first sight. Their adventure is one full of tension and lust for one another. But Axel is unsure of himself because of his dragon and Elysian makeup. His conflict with himself is so great that he fears he will hurt Freya . On the other hand, Freya knows that he is the one she has been searching for all her life. This story is filled with adventure and never ending tension for the two of them. One of the best in the series!

Oh my goodness this is a great paranormal read. This series is captivating and has your interest from start to finish, can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend reading them all, this is a standalone but they are all super good so read them all.

Laxmi keep pouring yourself into the books. This is Axel and Freya's story. Freya had been kidnapped by the Elysian rebels and they tried to break her shield in her mind. She was rescued by dragon shifters. Axel's half-sister was one of the rebels and was killed by a dragon. Her boyfriend tried to get Axel to kill all the alphas in revenge of his half-sisters death.. He is part Elysian and part dragon. He teleported to the island and found Freya first. She talks him into taking her hostage instead of killing the alphas. There is no end to these stories! I'm pretty sure she can go on forever, the imagination this author has is pretty amazing. A two kind of shifter and a human new one can she survive the mating? Can I survive the series ? At least I would die happy!

Another hit
The story is amazing. There is much depth to the characters that make you fall in love. I love this series so much. These book fill you up with so many emotions during these adventures and magical romantic stories.
