Welcome to Havenwood Falls, a small town in the majestic mountains of Colorado. A town where legacies began centuries ago, bloodlines run deep, and dark secrets abound. A town where nobody is what you think, where truths pose as lies, and where myths blend with reality. A place where everyone has a story. Including the high schoolers. This is only but one…
Jack Peters is everything a girl could want in a bad boy. Blunt, aloof, and ready to whisk you away on the back of his motorcycle. And that's just the way he likes it. Simple relationships. No commitment. High adrenaline. A shapeshifting Hellhound with a look that kills—literally—Jack hides behind his sunglasses and skulks in the cemeteries, biding his time until he's out of Havenwood Falls and on the road to bigger adventures.
He doesn't plan on Cressida Manos.
A seventeen year-old mountain nymph, Cressida has it all. A great family. A quiet life. And an annoying habit of being overly helpful and friendly with everyone. She's sunny, cheerful, dependable, and ... a vandal?
Caught on camera tagging buildings in the middle of the night, no one can believe Cressida Manos possible of malicious destruction of property. Especially Jack Peters, who stumbles on the redhead in the middle of graffitiing a tombstone.
Only Cressida doesn't remember her crimes, and the only one who believes she's innocent is the guy who caught her in the act.

I have honestly fallen in love with this story. It seems I do that a lot with this Havenwood Falls stories. I swear I would love to live there if I could. Every time we read about a pair of people finding their way in this little town.
You take these two people: Jack and Cressida and no one would every imagine that they could fall for each other, hell even talk to each other. But when strange things start to happen they seem to come together. Reading this story you are compelled it seems to not put down the book wanting to solve the mystery of what was going on.
This book kept me interested from the first page and honestly I can't wait to see where these two characters go from here. I am a firm believer a story really never has a ending, there is always another chapter.
Jack Peters, a Hellhound, and Cressida, a innocent Oread aka Mountain Nymph, were so cute I just ate this book up. I loved the way Jack's beast came into play with him needing to protect Cressida when she started to act different to who she was. I also really loved their families and cant wait to read more about them in the upcoming Havenwood Falls Books. I had a favorite quote in this book and it was when Jack remembered his late mother telling him "Stars were a minefield of explosives. That if a person could touch them, they'd immediately detonate and dissolve. Stars, she said, weren't meant to be handled. They were only meant to be enjoyed." end quote.
So cute!! I absolutely adored these characters! They had me hooked and cracking up from the very beginning. I really hope we get to see more of them in the future!
Favorite Quote: "Not funny, Manos. Not even close to being funny." “Yes, huh. Admit it.” I pinched my fingers together and held them up. “It was a little funny. Just a little.” He glared. I pinched my fingers even closer together. “A wee tiny bit.”
I love all of the Havenwood Falls series but some just too short. This one has the boy, girl and drama but as Cressida says not so much as other relationships. I just hate a supposed HEA where the bad guy or gal isn't punished at all. I am into the 20th book according to the reading list and A and B still haven't suffered as much as I would like to see.
Cressida and Jack! Oh the feels. It was great to see different kinds of supernatural characters. Loved the opposite attraction between these two. I can't wait to read more about both them and their side characters of Leda, Cade and especially Isa. I highly recommend all the series within Havenwood Falls.
Sweet, entertaining and fun. I loved the characters and how to story played out. It was hard to put down and held my interest the whole way through. I enjoyed the opposites attract with a sexy bad boy hellhound and a sweet innocent nymph. I’d love to see a sequel in the future!
Very good book - nice mystery. Also a sweet love story blooming. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm not sure if this was a stand alone, but it holds its own without cliffhangers. I love the Havenwood Falls series of books and this is a most worthy addition. I highly recommend it.
The world of Havenwood Falls is always changing and I love it! I read everything and anything that has Ms. Ryals name on it and I love her characters. Jack is one of my favorites, I think. I hope to see more of his family in the future. Keep the words coming, Ms. Ryals!
Another wonderful addition to The Havenwood Falls High Books. Cressada and Jack couldn't be more different but find that they can't fight there attraction. I love how protective Jack becomes of Cressada.
I truly loved reading this book. The story and the characters I truly enjoyed. The way the story unfolded and the emotions and feels. I’m really happy to have read this book. I couldn’t put it down.
Good girl meets bad boy, what more could we ask for! Oh yes, something fishy is going on with her, and her family. Can you figure out what's going on? I sure didn't until the end! Loved it!
