Born a brat, into an ‘intellectual’ family, I've always made my own path. Grew-up all over India; explored the globe, here and there.
Worked my way up the corporate ladder in Sales & Tech, in India and London (read selling, begging, ass licking, posing smart, talking sense…sigh)
And One Fine Day, after 13 amazing years, I found myself sitting in an airport lounge, feeling chuffed about my Platinum Card and desperately trying not to eye the ‘free’ treats beckoning to me from the non-descript trays of poison, and I knew it…in that one moment. I wanted more, more different, yet more challenging, way more rewarding…and if that meant giving up my platinum card, then so be it.
And so I jumped off the cliff – into a crazy, intense, adrenalin-pumping free-fall called ‘Entrepreneurship’; yes I did get promoted from Director to CEO – often that stood for Chai & Entertainment Officer, but the most humbling experience of my life also went on to be the most satisfying, having built from scratch India’s 1st premium-wear fashion e-commerce platform.
But all good things come to an end, and when I anchored this ship back into the sleepy dock, I spent the next one month nursing my shattered dreams. Till one day, I stopped. Stopped it all. To simply Come Undone…and let my laidback-inner-child guide my over-achiever-brain.
And it’s then, that it happened – I wrote.
…and wrote…and wrote. Till Another Fine Day, emerged My Book.
If you’ve just finished reading it, Thank You!
If you’re browsing and contemplating…give it a shot will ya?
..hopefully it will help you in Finding Your G-Spot!

The book finding your G spot is self-help book which has been divided into sections and the section further divided into chapters and at the end of the chapters there is a section where you can test your understanding and have a a moment of self assessment.
This is a good book for those who enjoy reading .
However I don't read self - help books .This was first one and I did not enjoy it one bit . The biggest problem of mine was the fonts and the format like genuinely they had used three different types of fonts and in three different sizes .Trust me it looked like a textbook to me, like the ones where you have separate font for heading , another one for subtitles and yet another one actual text .Like genuinely I wanted to like this book but I failed .The q/a portion of the book was a workbook to me,😑 just couldn't relate .
Hence my final verdict is if you someone who wants inspiration , insight, infotainment and you enjoy such writings go for the book , by all means it a good book , but sadly just not for me

A self help book about striking a perfect balance between leading a happy and a meaningful life, this book takes you on a road to rediscovering yourself through its pages. Brimming with life, this book serves dollops of positivity through it's simple yet witty language.
Sometimes the author has shared anecdotes from her own life to get across her message which adds a personal touch to the book.
It encourages the reader to introspect through the frequently occuring 'Do It For Yourself' sections.
This book makes you smile as you turn the pages to find that doses of motivation have been administered time and again.
This book gives a nice reading experience and is surely one of the better self help books that I have read.

Every self-help books teach us something and this is the reason I love reading them. The title of this book gives it a different aura; hence I was pretty excited to read this book. Finding our quality is the toughest job as we are surrounded by negativity, this book tries to clear those clutter from our lives.

Summary:

This book is divided into four parts starting to introduce you to the ‘life’ and ‘the real you’. This book starts on an interesting note.

In this busy modern life, we always tend to forget about ourselves. We do not give any attention to our dreams and just live the life. However, the life is much more beyond this. We just have to take a pause and think about it. The author of this book has her own experience and she has shared all this in the book.

With each part, the author has tried to explain who is the actual person behind your face? What is his/her passion? What are the hurdles which are stopping you? How can you overcome it? How can you manage bad with the good? How can you calm your mind? How can you live your life fullest?

Apart from this, she has also shared her stories, where she made the wrong decisions. She has also mentioned how we can learn from failure and a failure is much more important compared to the one who is not doing anything.

There come many times, when our fears stop us from living our life, she has also written about how you can overcome this.

The most attractive thing about this book is DIfy where we can write down many things about our life without being judged by anyone. This was really helpful and this can help us to see our life in a clear view.

Unlike, other self-help she has not quoted life of any billionaire and blabber about their life and then forcing us to live like that. But she has pushed us to see our life through our own eyes and then learn from it.

Writing style:

The author has chosen to write in a language which can attract the young readers. The language and narration are friendly which can hook you till the last.

My perception:

The best part of this book is the language. The author has narrated this book in such a way that it will connect with you as a friend. There are many quotes and lines which summarize the whole essence of the chapter, I truly loved them. There also come many places where I laughed, kudos to the author for understanding the reader. Apart from this, as stated above the author has created many DIfy where we can know our life much better, don’t worry they are fun to do. After completing this book, I have felt that I need to reform many things in my life. Learn, live and laugh but at first, understand yourselves.

I would recommend this book to each and every people especially youngsters. A must read self-help book, do not miss it!

Geetika has written a very well balanced book about her rich and varied experiences of life.

It is a very good take on finding happiness and purpose which tends to be the first casualty in the humdrum of life.

In its DIY format, it can help all of us look in the mirror and face ourselves. Geetika very succinctly highlights the flimsy nature of our lives which gets spend chasing happiness at the cost of our passions.

The book just like the author follows neither the traditional guidelines of living life nor of writing a book. It is a refreshing experience to see an author asking readers to buy and sell her book without any hesitation in the book itself.

Don’t expect a mushy and romantic ride as the name of the book suggests, but it can help us find the right stimulus which can make us reach the pinnacle of purpose and ecstasy in our lives.

A must-read for people not afraid of facing themselves.

Let me start off by saying that I do not like reading self help books. It might seem like a negative start to review of a self help book but I had to mention this fact in order for you to understand that the impact that this book had on me was beyond usual.
.
.
Definately a must read, This book made me take a step back and think about the bigger picture. It made me ask some very important questions and helped to put up a real mirror removing any dirt of insecurities, failures and preconceived notions. .
.
As author attempts to stay away from conventional approaches of motivation and "heard it all" quotes, she connects to the reader in a very personal way. Once you pick up this book, it is a very compelling page turner. It is impossible to keep it down till you have finished it.

Why would I recommend this book over other self help books? Because it will give you realistic solutions for some very real problems and not expect your to give up everything and go live in mountains. It's real, relatable, honest and unbiased. Can't wait to read more of her writing.

Titillating from the word go or shall I say the word G? A true page turner! The author's wittiness and the unapologetic account of her own life struck a chord with me. The book is thought-provoking, relatable, and a handy survival-kit in the journey called life.

I plan on using the bold ( literally) quotes for a long time to come! One of my favourite quotes from the book-"Disassociate yourself from the result. Do it for the journey, not the glory."

All in all a great read or how Miss G would put it - a kick ass book!

Unrestrained, demonstrative, conversational, witty. Let this book take you to a space you always wanted to travel to. A self help read which simply does just that, it HELPS. That too without being pedantic.A must read for all who might feel lost and for those who really don't care if they are! Happy Reading. :)

Masterpiece in the making, Finding your G Spot, is one of the very few self help books that can create a positive impact in your life. The manner in which Geetika Saigal has narrated her experiences and shared her journey, is extremely marvelous. The book leaves an efficacious mark and makes you ponder upon the real journey and purpose of your life.

Do you guys like reading self-help?

If “Yes”, then reading the whole review does make sense and if it’s a “No”, then you should give ‘Finding your G spot in life by Geetika Saigal’ a go because trust me it is not a conventional self-help book that you so hate reading!

I know, most of you don’t like to read self-help because you think they’re boring or because of same old messages it holds, i.e., Read Books, Exercise, Work hard, be patient etcetera etcetera. But this is the best thing about this book. It is a refreshing, witty and a very well thought after an easy read.

The author tries to stay away from the conventional approach of motivation and you-have-to-read-a-500-pages book if you want to bring change in your life.
Nah! Nothing like that.
Constituting of 4 Parts and 20 chapters, “Finding your G spot in Life” is about Geetika’s own thought-provoking extensive experiences of life. She’s shown us that vulnerability is not a weakness but it is your strength in disguise. Fear is not a bad and weak feeling. It doesn’t define us, but how we respond to it, is the defining point.

The question is not “Are you fearless?’ The question rather is, ‘What do you do when in Fear?

The book puts you in retrospective, you’ll find yourself staring at the wall for hours and thinking about your life, or at some point laughing your heart out while reading it. The Author successfully connects to the reader in a very personal way with her witty, fast-paced writing and beautiful Forget-me-not quotes for you to fall instantly in love with. At the end of every chapter, there are Do-It-Yourself questionnaires for self-evaluation and retrospection and this makes the book more fun to read.

I loved and most related to ‘The Shower Power’.
“When you clear the clutter, the noises cease, the voices fade away; all you hear then is you.”
My ‘Mantra’ in life, has always been to take a long dive in the shower, whenever I felt the need to drown out the unwanted voices cluttering my head. And when you emerge from the Shower, you realize “The world has not changed, YOU have”

I must say you had me at ‘Preface’ henceforth I devoured the book like a hungry child, starved for days. The beginning filled with true & beautiful touching emotions and ended on a light note with humor and reality leaving you to introspect

“Maybe, it is not about the light at the end of the tunnel, but the lights we light as we journey through the tunnel.”

I’ve so much more to share about this lovely book and how inspiring this author has been.

“Maybe what you want isn’t what you want, you just enjoy wanting it.”

Highly recommended this book
I give it 4.5/5 stars

Follow Just A Girl High On Books for more reviews.

I received a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

The first thing that I should clear up here is that I'm not into self-help books. Every time I think of reading one, I almost always end up leaving it in the middle. And that is one major reason why I never pick up such books. Yet, there was something about this particular book that made me want to read it. Maybe because I really liked the title (I mean, the metaphor isn't lost on me, after all) and figured I'd be able to give it a read, finally!

The best part was, that I was able to. Now if you know me personally, you'd think that it was a huge feat in my part to be able to read something like this.

But the fact is, Finding Your G Spot is not your typical boring self-help books. It is rather engaging and unlike almost all of the ones I've witnessed in my school library. You don't have to read a big-ass book to know the secret to lead a happy life. No, instead all that you have to do is read the god damn book, do the DItYs and viola! You've realized things about yourself you hadn't thought before.

Well, at least that was how it was for me.

The thing is, the writing was very easy to read. I've read a few self-help books and realized that they are rather pretentious (including tons of best sellers). I fall asleep within the first 20 pages.

And yet, this one! This one was unlike any of those books. No, it wasn't a guide on how to succeed. It was my friend to help me find who I really am.

Due to some unknown reason, I started reading the book late at night. Later I realized how it was a very gutsy thing to do because there was a fair possibility I would have fallen asleep while reading it and then not be able to read it again.

Yet, an hour past midnight, I was almost halfway through the book and still wanting to read more. There was just something about it that I really enjoyed. The book made me step back into my life and understand what went wrong and where. It compelled me to ask myself some really really important questions — questions I wouldn't normally ask, questions I've been dreading asking myself since a long while.

Through this book, Saigal connected to me in a way self-help writers don't usually do (with me, I mean). The thing about this book was, I was simple unable to put it down. It was that engaging. It made me form realistic goals for myself, goals I can keep up and helped realize what is and isn't my capability.

The manner in which Saigal talks to me throughout the book and explains things to me, well I doubt anyone has ever explained anything this nicely before.

To sum it up though, the book is a page-turner and I suggest it to be the first self-help book you pick up in a book store whenever you're searching for such books.

" Knowledge of the 'WHY' of your life gives clarity and strength to get through the 'HOW' "

Have you ever pondered over the thought that Who are you? What exactly is your purpose/aim in life? What defines you ?

" Let your soul be your sail, let it steer your life along its rightful journey."

If no, then you definitely need to pick up and read this book. This book will let you explore your inner self and make you realize your true worth. You'll definitely embark on a new journey after reading it. Though it is a self help book, the author has explained each and everything in such a fun manner. The chapters are engaging - each connected  to a story which is so relatable in our day to day lives. It is not like a typical self help book but is unique in its own way. The author tries to connect with the reader and freshen ups one's mind by letting the reader explore him/herself by doing some fun activities.

" Expand your world - What you don't see, you can't know; what you don't know, you can never be."

The author has included experiences and random events from her life. So, I was able to relate my own miseries with the author. Rather than writing all those common stuff like read books, exercise , spend time with family etc etc , the book focuses on the main issue i.e. finding YOU. The book is divided in to 4 parts each part containing 20 chapters. These chapters contains DIfY ( Do It for Yourself ) activities which is an amazing concept. While reading the book you'll definitely start finding time for yourself and will start seeing everything around you with a new vision.

" Be true to yourself, not a wannabe to the world."

Each chapter contains eye catching quotes that you'll love. The quotes doesn't let the reader get bored. Though it was my first try at reading a self help book, I absolutely enjoyed reading this one. I was able to connect myself with the author and I was actually hooked to the book. It's a short read and an absolute beauty. The language is easy and simple and the book is well paced too.

" I am awake, I am aware,

I am free, as ready as can be.

Watch out dear world,

Here comes the real me."

If you haven't tried any self help book yet, then you must pick this one up and give it a try.

Read the detailed review on potpourriwithwords.wordpress.com

I received a review copy in exchange for an honest review so here goes. So self help books and me...we have a history. It started with Shiv Khera and 'You Can Win'. I hated every moment of that lecture I attended. Maybe because I was still a 10th grader. Nonetheless, my perspective with self-help books was scarred. But with 'Finding Your G-Spot In Life', the first ☑️, that actually made me start reading with enthusiasm, was the name itself. The author wanted her debut to get noticed and this title is as compelling as it gets.
The next ☑️ for me were the chapter names - "The Mystic Pizza", "F*** the high", "I like to move it, move it.." - my interest was definitely piqued. Doesn't it stir your curiosity just the tiniest bit, right now?
As an academician, I believe "Practice makes a man perfect" and the next ☑️ for me was that the author had included little tasks called "Do-It-for-Yourself" to sort of evaluate yourself based on what she just spoke about in the preceding chapter. What's a self-help book if you can't help yourself via application?
--------------------------
The book is not without its flaws, albeit a few, albeit minor ones at that. The author's style of writing, intended to captivate the reader, gets a little exhausting in several chapters. The words seem to scream at you forcing you to acknowledge the meaning. Don't be surprised if you find some very obvious editing errors that were overlooked.
Hilarious, entertaining and in conversation - style! A good self-help book, overall. If this is your first one, all the better, because it's like having a conversation, about finding yourself, with your BFF over Maggi during a sleepover or a drunk discussion. Kudos to Geetika Saigal for a job well done in her debut.

If I ask you what is life? You will probably come out with thousands of definitions and assumptions. But still on ground something or other remains missing. I know what is my life? I know myself? But still I lag somewhere in living a life that I dreamed when I was a kid. Why? Maybe I know the answer or may be not. I am confused - to be affront.

So, how can this book help me to come out as a winner in life? I started reading it with no expectations at all, with a plain heart. But, gradually, as I browsed pages inch by inch, I got the hunch that this book has something new on offer. The striking brilliance is that the author has included experiences and random events from her life. So, I was able to relate my own miseries with the author. Like an expert, the author has first shown the problem and then takes us to the solution. Especially, DIY exercises.

The book is not lengthy like other ones, it has got around 190 pages, there are 20 chapters - so you get 20 unforgettable lessons. Each chapter has good verses and quotes that actually work in life. Being an Indian, I found this book a relevant fit for my issues. Especially, I took long time to find about the real 'Me' in me and my true passion.

The letter to yourself in the end and the letter to lady in your life is the best part of the book for me. I would highly recommend this book to people who have difficulty in finding themselves - the book helps you to get your true calling.

A self help book from a person who has seen the heights in her own field is what makes this special. We have been flooded with the various books offering an advice at a huge premium wouldn't make sense when you read this book as things were given outright without beating around the bush.

The perspective of a woman always differs and I found the thoughts really refreshing as it offered a unique perspective. My dad use to say most of the times(or always) "Life is short. Make it sweet". I thought I came to the conclusion after reading this book, yet another time.

There were lot of DIfY's in this book which would help you self evaluate. There is no right or wrongs answers in those. Hence you need not have to worry of going wrong and even if you did, you need not have to worry because only when you make a mistake or fail, you would learn to win/succeed or most importantly "To Fight".

It is the fighting nature which is missing and we fear for unwanted things rather than fearing for the ones which would help you succeed in life.

What I also liked the most from the book were the mention of Quotes and few Poems here and there. There were also some letters(self written) that were given as an example. Leaving aside ego and treating your spouse as an equal partner coupled with lot of other things in this book would surely make it an interesting read for you.

Finding Your Gspot in Life is a self help book which is divided into four parts, beginning with the simple 'Who am I'. Every chapter begins with a basic problem that everyone faces at some point of her/his life like finding your passion, the right career path, seeking happiness, facing failure etc. Then she breaks the problem in various parts, which makes it easy to comprehend and also gives steps in which the same can be overcome. Most of the chapters end with a DIY excercise which help in self evaluation and by putting things into retrospect, it gives you a better understanding of the decisions you've taken in your life and also life in general.

The book is also a little autobiographical in nature as there are a few segments in which she talks about her own experiences which were interesting to read.

The language is easy to understand and hence you can take your own time and read each chapter at your own pace.

Also the title of the book is very intriguing and quite accurate. Reading the book is like embarking on a journey which guides you to know your weaknesses and overcome them subsequently.

“The universe doesn’t give a shit about us, we might as well do”

“We are the prisoners of our own image in the mirror”

It was difficult to pick out the quotes as the entire book needs to be added here. With an impressive title, this is a compact unconventional self-help book with a lot of self-interrogation chapters. The conversational narration kept me hooked which made me finish the book in a single sitting. I loved the way the author used humor to convey many complicated emotions. It made me understand that laughter is healing and is a way of coping with life. Every chapter made me stop for some time staring blankly with thoughts introspecting life. All the chapters are like reading the “What would your 40-year-old self, tell your 20-year-old self”. We all know it but we fail to realize it. The entire book can be seen as the inspiring story of the author’s self-discovery. Though the final chapters are exhausting, overall it’s a self-realization story that almost everyone can relate to, encouraging us to live a life that’s loved.

Having read a lot of self helps, I was of the opinion that they are all the same more or less. And so, before starting this one, I was a little apprehensive about what will this book have to offer. In this one the author , at the end of every chapter, persistently keeps on asking you to answer some questions and after some time you tend to give in to her persistence. As you start answering those questions, you might find some of the answers that you were seeking for long. The language is simple and the stories are engaging. The book is inspiring and motivating for the most part, but what I didn't like is sometimes it pretends to have the answers, when it doesn't. But all in all its a good read, especially for the ones who are starting on to their journey into the world of self-help books.

I have read 3-4 self help books this year. I don't know if it's because I want to improve myself or I'm moving towards liking non fiction books as well! This one was a review copy and quite a interesting kind of book, in the sense I was left thinking how and what I felt about this one. There were places that I love it and sometimes I just got annoyed. Content apart something that irked me was the frequent difference in font size which was meant to highlight certain content. I felt it could have been presented in a better way.
.
Regarding the book, this is all about finding the real you, your strong points, ur strengths and weaknesses. As the author talks about how most times we move or are pushed in the directions or choices that is the general norm of the society. The book has DIfYs (Do it for yourself) at the end of most chapters. At certain parts it made me angry at how right she was! But like its put out there, you owe it to yourself to follow your dreams. You need to identify, procrastinate, think like a child to get true answers to your questions. The book has some real good lines/quotes that can inspire you further. It's an okayish read for people who like reading self help books.

I got this book in exchange of honest review from the team bookoholics.
Finding your g spot on life, written by Geetika Saigal is a motivating and inspiring book. In this book the author emphasises on finding the real me.
As is told, I belong to the category B, the one who has never read a self help book. And I really enjoyed reading this. Right from the beginning to the end, the book is gripping. It is divided into four parts and twenty chapters. Each chapter begins with a motivating and inspiring quote and ends with a "do-for-yourself". Initially, the book begins with the author narrating her life incidents and the same is continued in part two. As the book progresses, it feels like having a deep and thought provoking conversation with a close friend. I am addressing it as "conversation" since the reader has to contribute his/her part too. Every chapter makes the reader smile.
The language is simple and the tone is established from the beginning. Ignoring the little typos, I actually liked the narrative style. The book is filled with little jokes and sarcasm which makes it lively and entertaining.
What I really liked is the equations and derivations for the positive and negative effort. The author has also touched economics. As a student, I have always wondered what the use of learning equations and derivations is. I now know it.
Overall an enjoyable and inspiring read. I recommend it to everyone
