Read for free the first two chapters of the Rick Riordan Presents launch titles: Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi, The Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes, and Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee.
Roshani Chokshi is the award-winning author of the New York Times bestselling series The Star-Touched Queen, The Gilded Wolves and Aru Shah and The End of Time, which Time Magazine named one of the Top 100 Fantasy Books of All Time. Her adult debut, The Last Tale of The Flower Bride, was a #1 Sunday Times bestseller. Her novels have been translated into more than two dozen languages and often draw upon world mythology and folklore. Chokshi is a member of the National Leadership Board for the Michael C. Carlos Museum and lives in Georgia with her husband and their cat whose diabolical plans must regularly be thwarted.
I love the fact Rick Riordan created a publishing imprint that essentially publishes only books by POC Own Voices authors. I already loved his Magnus series and the fact that he seems like a lovely person and then he goes and does this and I love him even more.
Using his influence to get more books into the hands of kids is always a good thing.
The fact that they are all about different world mythologies is a bonus.
I saw these books at Costco and at $6 each I bought the six they had.
Will keep an eye out for the rest when Costco gets them.
This is a short intro to the first three titles in the Rick Riordan imprint. One if them, Aru Shah, is out and I love it. The other two are not out yet: Storm Runner and Dragon Pearl. These are the first two chapters of each title. I found all of them exciting and I'm really looking forward to them being published! Dates: September 18 for Storm Runner and January 15 2019 for Dragon Pearl.
I'm most excited for Storm Runner, then Dragon Pearl, then Aru Shah! This Mayan mythology book is one I never knew I wanted, but now absolutely need! And I've been waiting forever for a kitsune book, now here we have one coming out!
