Zhong Yue was just an ordinary boy, a mere outer disciple of the Swords Gate that shielded humanity, who came from the smallest and weakest of all the human tribes. While all his contemporaries were embracing the various resources supplied by their tribes, he had to leave at the first light of dawn each day and search for the medicinal herbs necessary to cultivate himself. That was, until one day, when the most dangerous and calamitous event the human lands could experience unfolded all around him. Stuck in the middle of a catastrophe, powerless and knowing that no help would ever come and no rescue was possible, he struggled to stay alive. It was then that he found a copper lamp, one that changed his life forever…
Humanity at the brink of destruction, and a fight to save it.
I loved the plot of the book, in many similar types of stories the character ends up majorly over powered in no time at all, this one is a bit different, honestly every event has a good cause, that outlines clearly how the effect happened. There is no real surprise like the mc suddenly has a suit of armor that absorbs all I'll intents towards him, out of no where. The book kept me interested for every single moment. I have read it multiple times over and find very few flaws. Honestly my favorite book in its genre.
The overall story is very classic Chinese fantasy and is quite wonderful. Though I was not pleased with some of the twist interns in the plot and how much it was drug out. Plus there was plenty of times where the MC contradicted himself. Put all of this aside what it really needs is to be run through an editor two or three more times.
The translation of a masterpiece, Rise of Humanity is an epic tale filled with action, mystery and martial arts. It is without a doubt the best translated books I have ever had the pleasure to read, in short, captivating.
