After the earth-shattering events of the Cameron brothers’ war to reclaim the Phoenix Throne and crown Angus as King, Urlu falls into peace and prosperity at last.
Everybody is happy—everyone except Hazel Green, the time-traveling woman whose spell originally cursed the land. With her friends Elle and Carmen contentedly married to Cameron brothers, Hazel is on her own—or so she thinks. There’s still one person interested in Hazel—Fergus, the young Cameron brother who came to her aid when everyone turned against her.
As Fergus has some strange power of his own, the two forge an unlikely partnership. But before romance can fully blossom, Fergus and Hazel are pulled into a world stranger and more dangerous than any they’ve encountered before.
Can the couple conquer untold forces, solve an ancient mystery, and save the realm from disaster?
Hazel Green sent herself and her friends to the Highlands by mistake from America with a spell. In the castle where she now lived with some of her friends she felt like she didn’t belong. She didn’t like the idea that some of the Highlander’s could turn into dragons. One Highlander that was a seer really liked Hazel. Fergus showed her how to see Faerys. The king faery told them holes were showing up and pulling things into it. Hazel figured it was because of the curse that she had casted the spell. She and Fergus set out to make things right. They also had to find stone scone of Abby. Hazel had to fight all kinds of things and even a witch. Hazel and Fergus had sex and now Hazel could even turn into a dragon. With her spell powers and her dragon powers she was wonderful and now felt she belonged. After returning the stone the king faery married them.
It reads at times like a dystopian dream. At some point close to the end I realized it must be on purpose. From Fairies to the Skeletor queen/witch to unlimited power to a weird dream world, it was hard to keep up at points. Still looking forward to the next story.
Love this series, especially this book. It has some of everything: romance, ancient Scotland, time travel, even fairies. This was my second read and it was just as good the second time
