The Moon, the Sun, and the Star Inbetween.

The Force moves in mysterious ways, and sometimes it even has its own agenda. Rey finds herself caught in a battle with fate that throws her together with Kylo Ren, binding them together in the most powerful way possible... only to have fate drop her like a hot potato.

A broken Force Bond isn't the easiest thing to bear, especially when the one you're missing is your sworn enemy and the father of your child.

I remember being obsessed with this fanfic back in the day when it came out, but a several years later upon re-read it seems just...okay? I still really like it, don't get me wrong, but at some points it felt like the Resistance world-building was a bit under-developed for how large a part it ended up playing in the plot. For instance, I always kind of felt like the bits of the plot that showed the Resistance always were kind of surface-level, and only really served to be convenient for whatever the plot needed it to be (especially towards the end with the whole thing with General Praxis). It also felt like the side characters in the Resistance weren't really developed either. I totally get that the focus of this fic isn't supposed to be the Resistance, but it would've been nice to have seen more of Rey struggling with living with the Resistance as opposed to just mostly being told that. Additionally I think that if Praxis and the Resistance had been developed a bit more, then the plot bits towards the end involving the resistance would've had more weight and been more tense. As it was, the plot bits at the end felt a little like going through the motions because you knew how everything was going to end up. On the flip side, I think that the world building with the First Temple/Jedi lore was pretty incredible, and serviced Rey's character arc as well.

As for the relationship between our two leads, while I liked their chemistry, I also thought that Kylo was a bit one-note. The smut scenes are really top tier writing, but I can't help but think that maybe sometimes there was so much smut that it got in the way of maybe having more Rey and Kylo scenes. So, in effect, it really depends on your reasons for reading this fanfic. If you're primarily in it for the smut, this is definitely The Fic for yout. The beginning parts that took place on the green moon were top tier delicious.

Although I'm critiquing bits of this fanfic here, I really can't understate how influential this fanfic was to the Reylo fandom. This fanfic was truly one of the first Great Reylo fanfics (pre-TLJ! Force bond!!!), and I think that it's worth a read because of its "historical" significance and because it is a good deconstruction of the pregnancy trope.

Tam leans on the stone barrier beside them. “Does this mean you're staying with us, Kylo?” he asks.
The man looks at him with dark eyes that run clear as the waters below.
“It's just Ben now,” says Ben.
