I grew up in a time when cartoons were only shown on Saturday mornings, followed by 'In Search Of' with Leonard Nimoy, and on weekends the late night tv movies would either be a science fiction film from the 1950s or a horror classic. After seeing the original silent Nosferatu film and the 'king vampire' character in 'Salem's Lot', I thought he looked more like an alien than a demonic being. I kept waiting for a movie to come out that would portray him as such. In 2014 I began to write my own story around this theme, which resulted in a self-published trilogy.

I'd love to be able to do nothing but write but alas...there are bills to be paid. I work full time as a mathematics lecturer and struggle to write more than 500 words a week while the semesters are in full swing. I try to make up for this deficiency in the summer.

At the conclusion of “Return to Vambiri (The Nosferatu Chronicles - Book 3), by Susan Hamilton I sat for a few moments and wondered if I’d missed something. I’m going to be a little more critical with my review of book 3 because it really did take a dramatic turn in my opinion. While book 1 and 2 were well rooted in the vampire and alien history, book 3 dealt heavily in both religiosity and ideology. Book 2 was leaning in this direction and I had high hopes that it would come together for me. As an agnostic I found some parts of this book to be a bit preachy. and it was reminiscent of my childhood bible school classes. I understand the connection being made that the aliens have some of the same theological and religious beliefs as humans. I also thought that we could have come to the same conclusion without all the hyperbole. I guess what I’m trying to say is that book 3 just wasn’t for me. I also understand that self publishing is not an easy experience but this book could have done with a better eye in the editing. If this is being marketed as Science Fiction/ Christian Fiction it’s spot on. As Science Fiction/Alien/Vampire Fiction, it missed the mark for me. *Please read other reviews of this book as there are some excellent and honest reviews from people who have a different viewpoint and a different ideology and religious belief then I do.

I stated in my review of Origins, the first novel in this series that it supported the Biblical themes of salvation, redemption and God's sovereignty, but now that I have finished this final volume, I need to retract my statements from that first review.

The author has undermined the sovereignty of God in this final tome. She has depicted God as not omnipotent but relying on alien technology to heal the sick and perform miracles (through nanobyte technology) and instead of ascending to heaven from the Cross, he was put into "stasis" by the alien vambir race and stored in a pod on their planet, Vambiri, ready to be awakened when He saw fit to "resurrect" Himself, which He does at the end of the novel. There are other instances where one of the Vambir characters used its technology to be angels, the voice of God to Moses at the burning bush and used this technology to create this burning bush! She then goes on to say that this character was doing this according to God's will! She even has Moses cloned!

I have removed this first review from Amazon and Goodreads as I am not going to lead astray future readers by saying something about this first novel that is the opposite when they get to this third novel.

Christian readers need to be very discerning if they read this trilogy.

I am all for authors using poetic licence but I draw the line when they employ this on the sovereignty of God, who He is and reduce Him to much less than what the Bible says He is and also undermines the validity of the Biblical account of it historical events and tenets.

Not impressed!

I'm going to jump right into this review and say that once I reached the first 40% of the book I almost couldn't put it down again. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It's definitely my favorite one out of all three and as a conclusion to the trilogy it was suspensful and had a really great ending, which isn't something I can easily say with most books. I loved it!

My favorite part in this book was the flashbacks to biblical times. I'm not a religious person but I've always felt intrigued by stories from the bible and as someone who adores both history and science fiction I just couldn't help but love the way the author gave it all an unconventional but unique spin.

Susan Hamilton created a very complex world and story in these books that you'll definitely need all your attention for but the way she flawlessly connected history and science together was really well done and the writing was equally good. I also gotta say I really connected with pretty much all characters, even the vilains. I just love it when a story has great villains.

If you love science fiction, a different take on the vampire genre, alternate history and aliens, The Nosferatu Chronicles is definitely a trilogy that you must read. I highly enjoyed all three books, especially this final one so I'd really recommend everyone to read them!

The Nosferatu Chronicles: Return to Vambiri Bk 3 - Written by Susan Hamilton
Everything comes around again with all the answers that they need to return.

In the controversial conclusion to the alien trilogy, Kevak and the Newlunders return to their home planet and are elated to find survivors of the cosmic disaster that devastated Vambiri. But not all is as it seems: the survivors are hiding a secret linked to Earth from Biblical times that will shake the foundation of Kevak's faith.

What did I like? This was a very different look at the Biblical times that if they were true it would be very interesting. I loved the character of Kevak, he had all this love both for his family and for Iam. It must have been so hard to know this kind of love and not be able to give it to his wife. To leave a son on earth and to see his wife and son so ill and not to be able to do anything about it. I loved the ending but was very surprised.

What will you like? Riveting characters, some you like and some you want to throttle. Exciting action with many twists and turns, keeping the excitement going from page to page. The fascinating storyline that keeps growing with each flip of the page and has these entrancing ties to current day biblical times. I am really sorry this is the conclusion to this series, it was a wonderful read and I highly recommend it to all of this genre. I received this from the author for an honest review with no other compensation.

The conclusion

I found the beginning of this book difficult to read. The recitation of events from the bible was extensive. I felt that I was missing the point - or Ms. Hamilton had fallen off the cliff. Fortunately for both of us I.was sailing between Malaysia and Thailand alone. Not a lot to do but pet my cat and read. I was rewarded when it all came together in the end. I thought that Me. Hamilton did a remarkable job. So three books, five stars each. I never do that - but I did.

A caution. The themes of Judo-Christian religion play a large part of the third book. Some people might find this distressing. I found it a unique way of delivering a message of goodness and grace.

Return to Vambiri serves as an epic and fitting conclusion to Dr. Hamilton's Nosferatu Chronicles series. Just as in the earlier works, the Vambiri are revealed to have influenced significant spans of human history, focusing this time on the earliest development of Jewish and Christian doctrine. While this might be controversial to some, to hypothesize that aliens were responsible for biblical miracles, the story shies away from supplanting God's works and instead explains them via aliens who feel they are accomplishing His will.

This is the last and final book in this series and in my humble opinion, the author gas tied the series together nicely. In the previous books, the author hinted at there being a connection with the two races/species and she explores this fully with unexpected results and directions. She also ties the exploration of religion and secular details together into a coherent story. There were the familiar characters from the first two books and a couple of new ones who fully made the story come alive.

Great series

I just finished the third book and I truly loved the whole series. It truly boggles my mind that an author can take a premise and weave such a complicated and convoluted story and then tie up all the loose ends. I especially enjoyed how Christianity was brought into the series and offered such a satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended.

kindle unlimited bit odd or weird but really anything that isn't means I've already read it, there's nothing new under the sun type thing, it wasn't typos etc that did it in, and almost gave it a 3, just some 'iffy' parts/plot etc, and yes am quite used to sci-fi etc so that wasn't it, and 3 just well it was even worse on getting me lost {and I read sci-fi ALL the time}.
