A Recipe to Die For

Rate this book
Take a holiday, they said. It will be fun, they said. No one will drop dead, they said. Life in the Cornish villages of Port Merlin and Pendeen is going by at its somewhat leisurely pace, with no corpses in sight. When Gwen Dyer is given an all-expense paid trip to a luxury hotel and spa that caters exclusively to the magical set, she’s overjoyed. With Millie Collins, Alfie Peabody and Paul Evans in tow, they fly off to the magical isle of St. Pellinore. Everything is going according to plan, until the first body drops. It seems that Gwen and her friends can’t even take a vacation without someone popping their clogs. Now, it’s time for them to solve the whodunits at The Moonstone Hotel and Spa before they become the murderer’s next victims.

Madcap, zany and frantic

Awesome. But for anyone who doesn't like swear words in their books - this is definitely NOT for you. A wild, frantic plot that will keep you on your toes. Brilliant! Gwen feels dejected and desolate, her magic is nothing to write home about and her love life is even worse. Therefore a fortnight away at a spa sounds great and she can take 3 guests. Murder, mayhem and magic gone wrong ensues. Meanwhile Harry is left in charge at the station. Add in an Inspector and a dragon for fun and games at the station. Will they both be able to clear things up, end up still in the land of the living and able to live to fight another day. Wonderful characters, that although completely and utterly OTT, still come to life in glorious technicolour. Please get a character for Gwen in the next book and someone that will bring Harry to his knees.

Enjoyable read

Very enjoyable book. Many quirky and amazing characters. This book and the other series by this same author are worth the read.
