When it comes to sexual politics They’re playing dirty! The mayorship of Las Vegas is down to two candidates, and Jessica Morgan is ready for a fight. Golden boy Rafael Martinez is a successful businessman—and a wickedly sexy egomaniac. He may be her opponent, but there’s something so irresistibly hot between them! Then all it takes is one little leaked sex tape to turn this election into a Sin City sensation…
J. Margot Critch writes steamy contemporary romance and romantic suspense. She graduated from Memorial University with a BA in Religious Studies and Folklore. She currently lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland, with her husband, Brian, and their two little fur buddies, Otis and Chibs. She spends equal amounts of time writing, listening to Jimmy Buffett music and looking out at the ocean, all the while trying to decide if she should have coffee or margaritas.
This was my second read from M&B/Hqn’s Dare imprint and my second J. Margot Critch book.
I liked this one much better than the first as I really liked both characters (even if again I liked the heroine more than the hero). I don’t know what it is with Critch’s books but the heroes don’t work for me as well as the heroines do. But as I said I connected with Rafael much better than I did with Brett from the first book. I loved Jessica. She embodied the strong female characters I love to read in my romance novels and she was a stripper/poledancer running for mayor. Just awesome!
The sexy scenes were very hot and mixed in with perfect balance to the rest of the story and I even got my desk smexing scene. YAY! I also liked the romance and emotional development of the characters and the small plot of the leaked sex tape and pictures. The one thing that was done a bit less well than in the first book was the rivals-to-lovers trope. Where in the first book this was the thing carrying the romance, in this one it was quickly overshadowed by the mutual attraction and feelings.
All in all, I really liked this one and am ready for the next Brotherhood romance. I’m even hoping for an inter-Brotherhood romance between two certain characters, maybe a friends-to-lovers *winkwink*
If you're looking for a tale of forbidden desires, then this is the book for you!
Rafael Martinez…..holy yum! This guy is hotter than the Nevada desert. Not only is he one of the sexiest politicians you'll ever meet, but he's also a successful businessman, a loyal friend, and a VERY skilled lover.
Jessica Morgan….can I just say that I LOVED THIS CHARACTER! She's the definition of a strong, independent woman. She knows what she wants and goes after it and she's never shy to speak her mind.
This is a fantastic enemies to lovers story with a forbidden desire twist. The chemistry between Rafael and Jessica was there from page one. They simply clicked. Their story was definitely sweet, steamy, and satisfying.
To publish a political romance in 2018 USA is a difficult thing to pull off without touching on a lot of triggers for people.
The hero and heroine are running for Mayor in Los Vegas. He's rich and believes in hard work (the American dream). She's not and realises that hard work doesn't always result in wealth.
Her job outside of politics is a bit of a romance novel wild meet-cute to fit the Dare promise, yet combined with his business interests, it makes sense and their reasons for being together and not being together make sense.
I'm impressed at how this book balances politics, sex, and love in the current climate.
Oh my, J. Margot Critch has done it again! What's not to love? A stripper-come-politician for a heroine and the hero, who else, but her political opponent. Honestly, the heat between this pair is off the charts, whether sparring in public debates or getting down and dirty in all manner of locations, it fires up the pages. What a unique twist on a deeply romantic, and super-spicy tale, loved every second!
The second book in this series and I loved the idea of the mayoral race with the two opponents being drawn to each other. Flings begin and what happens when the dirt hits the fan? You guessed it, all goes haywire. The fact that neither one gave up their desire to be the mayor was a great plot point in this story. Rafael and Jessica were a perfect couple who happen to get into some naughty situations.
Sins of the Flesh is the second book in J. Margot Crutch’s Sin City Brotherhood Series which tells the story of Raphael, a wealthy businessman and politician, and Jessica, a strong independent woman seeking public office. Jessica and Raphael are political opposition candidates for mayor, but share a sizzling attraction to each other. I recommend this enemies to lovers romance which is a great read.

Loved this story. J. Margot Critch never fails to write an entertaining book and this one was no exception. There was a nice mix of sex and political storyline to keep the pages turning without feeling bogged down in either direction. I took off one star for two glaring mistakes: 1) The hero’s family immigrated to the US when he was a child, yet he aspires to the presidency. That’s not possible since he’s not a natural born citizen. 2) The heroine is an internationally renowned exotic/pole dancer yet no one in Vegas knows this as she runs for mayor? Hard to believe. Those issues aside, Sins of the Flesh was a great read!
Sins of the flesh opens up with a bang. Jessica Morgan is a kickass heroine from the start. Rafael Martinez on the other hand is rich and running for mayorship but he’s got competition in the form of the stunning Jessica. These two butt heads with class but behind their public political rivalry is a private passion that enraptures them both! Intense, smoldering, scandalous, Sins of the Flesh will leave you breathlessly satisfied!!
Sins of the Flesh is the second book in the Sin City Brotherhood series by J. Margot Critch. I adored it just as much as I did the first one. The brotherhood series has some great potential. Enemies and lovers chemistry always brings out the best stories. This book is well worth the read and kept me entranced. I enjoyed every single moment I was reading about Jessica and Raf.
Wow I had a great time reading Jessica and Rafael’s story two strong alpha’ running a race for mayor’s on different side of the fence. Will they let themselves fall in love while trying to win? The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

A really good story. I loved how the two candidates interacted with each other. I liked how the author's allowed the female's job as a dancer in a club not be a deterrent in her winning the election as the new mayor of the town.
