Running Thayr International took all of Kindred shifter Gideon’s focus. He kept his clan and family his top priority, not knowing when he would hear the mating call. He’d never met anyone that he’d even considered until a quiet woman caught his eye and his interest. She didn’t know it, but when Gideon puts his mind to something, he gets what he wants.
Faye Dixon knew that finishing her veterinary assistant program was the key to changing her life. She could leave the life of a mail clerk behind and find satisfaction and joy working with animals. Until then, there was always the chance she’d catch a glimpse of the most handsome Kindred she’d ever seen on her daily rounds. Those days were the best. Gideon wasn’t someone who would be interested in her, but a girl could dream.
Faye had no idea that calling in sick for a few days would change her life forever. A Kindred mate and a new future was on the table. All Faye had to do was trust Gideon of Clan Othala was meant to be hers and show this billionaire shifter that there is more to life than work.
Trust Me is a standalone romance set in the world of the Kindred with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Moxie North loves shifters. Really, she does. A lot. Big burly men mixed with fierce protective animals makes for hunky alpha shifters that will move heaven and earth for their mates.
Her heroines come in all shapes, sizes, personalities and backgrounds. They’re looking for love but want their men to win them over. Together they find their soul mate on their journey to true love.
Moxie lives surrounded by trees, wildlife, and the occasional lumberjack. She loves sci-fi, sugar in any form, and speaking only in movie quotes. Moxie went from an avid reader to a writer and loves being in the romance community. Meeting readers and talking books keeps her writing and loving her job.
First read in the 20 SHADES OF SHIFTER box set then KU. Will be looking to buy this book. Lovely enjoyable read once it got going. Whilst very enjoyable it seemed to take forever to go anywhere. The first half was just about Faye being ill. Even though they were becoming friends during this time, I just didn’t feel like there was any connection building between Gideon and Faye as he kept saying she was not his mate. Then all of a sudden, we get a full-on romance starting and it was lovely. The Crone Betty knew they had to be in proximity for the fates to do their thing, was Faye’s illness contrived? Faye was such a simple and kind person, no airs or graces about her and she didn’t care about Gideon’s money which was refreshing. I enjoyed how Gideon was conflicted in that he didn’t believe Faye was his mate as there was no signs of it apart from he couldn’t leave her. This is my honest review of this book. Just as enjoyable the second time of reading.
A chance meeting I could read one book or a hundred and this one will still be one of my absolute favorites. There is not just one thing about this book that I enjoy. I love all of the characters! How can you not love them when they each have their hidden soft centers from the willy crone, the standoffish assistant, the aloof billionaire, the protective guards, the shy, gentle mailroom clerk, and even the puppy with a bit of a problem. And the entire concept of the Kindred brings a layer to shifter lore that has me wishing and hoping for more stories. The author really outdid herself when she engineered a chance meeting that was all the break fate needed, and I can’t wait to see where she takes her kindred next.
Gideon and Faye's story was so very sweet. Gideon is a Kindred Leopard Shifter who owns several companies. He is the head of his clan. To his surprise, an employee catches his attention. He knows she is not his mate, but his concern for her keeps growing until he inserts himself into her life.
Faye is a woman who choose to remain invisible to all. She is happy delivering the mail where she works. She gets to try to take a peek at the big boss of the company and fantasizes about him and her mind. Faye gets violently sick one day and she can't believe that she is having visions of her boss coming into her home and caring her.
Well, not so much a dream because it is reality. The story was really cute and I enjoyed it.
While I love my shifters with their lightening bolt immediate knowledge of their mate, it's always fun and exciting to get a different slant on the shifter lore that we've become familiar with. In the Kindred world shifters don't have that immediate revelation of finding their mate, they may actually be around, near or involved in some way with their one and only for weeks before they hear the mating call. For each shifter that mating call is different and unique to them, it might be a touch, or a sound or even a kiss... until the mating call confirms it they can suspect, wish or go a bit crazy wondering why they are so attracted or compelled to protect but without the call to confirm it they will not, cannot commit or claim their mate. The Crones, those wise older women of the Clans often have advance knowledge through their visions and will nudge two people together... but still until the mating call is heard or felt all matchmaking bets are up in the air.
So, with a bit of background knowledge I'm about to confound you a bit when I say that I don't actually want to talk much about Gideon and Faye's story because I truly believe to do so would deny you the chance to experience a very different shifter romance for yourself. Yes, there is steamy sex - eventually - with lots of sparking sexual tensions before that event. Yet in Trust Me, it's all about the journey of two people who are meant for each other but have quite a few internal obstacles, and one major external annoyance to get past before that mating call is heard for Gideon. Watching Gideon feel and act so protective of Faye, attracted to her but almost forcing himself to feel the mating call is poignant with the sense of waiting on pins and needles with him. Faye is a woman who has had a very hard, difficult life to the point where she tries to make herself invisible. She has goals, and they are attainable but with a lot of sacrifice and hard work way down the line. Faye is like a newly emerged rosebud, tightly bound at first and slowly over time unfurling to become a thing of beauty. My heart broke for her, and at times I did get a bit frustrated at her denials or the reasons she felt she had to deny what she and Gideon were experiencing. Gideon and Faye worked together, the reader knows it, the Crone knows it but watching them learn about each other, build a trust beyond the sexual tensions was well worth the waiting for Gideon to hear his mating call. And what a reveal that was.
I was hooked from the first page right until the final word. I loved this story, felt a connection to the characters and cannot wait to re-visit the Kindred world once again. If you love a good romance that just happens to be about a unique type of shifter, then I'd strongly recommend Trust Me.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Gideon of Clan Othala has been running Thayr International, it took up all his time. His family and his clan were his priorities, he didn't know when he would hear his mating call. Or if he would ever meet his mate, well all that cahnged when he met the beautiful, smart and quiet woman who captivated him.
Faye Dixon was working as a mail clerk at Thayr International...She was studying to become a veterinarian and she knew finishing the program would get her one step closer to her goal.
She was attracted to Gideon of Clan Othala, her boss...but she never thought he would be interested in her. When she called in sick one day, she never expected for her life to take such drastic turns.
Gideon and Faye found themselves in a compromising situation but the shifter didn't let it affect the beautiful woman's life. He called King of KSI for help, Anson (WILLING BRIDE) was assigned with protecting him and his lovely employee from the paparazzi.
The more time they spent together the shy clerk wanted to fight her attraction for him while he couldn't help but fall for her. No matter what they did, fate had plans for them. It wasn't easy for either one of them but in the end it was all worth it.
TRUST ME is a standalone novel in Moxie North's KINDRED world. It was beautiful, intriguing and captivating. Another fantastic job by Moxie North!
I obtained this book through KU. This is a wonderful story. Faye has a crush on her boss, Gideon, but she knows it’s only a fantasy. Gideon is a Kindred (shifter) who doesn’t have time for a personal life and doesn’t know Faye even exists. A call from his clan’s crone (aka matchmaker) to his personal assistant gets the ball rolling for Gideon to discover that Faye is his mate. A sweet romance, I had trouble putting it down (even at two in the morning). He is a wonderful character and open to suggestions from his friends and family about how to win her affections. She has every reason to be cautious. She is a sweet woman even though she has no friends or family to turn to for advice. Definitely a strong female lead. This book is going on my recommended list.
I really enjoyed the story. There was a few proofreading errors (wrong word, extra words) but that was all. The storyline was good and the action was good. The characters were interesting and I particularly liked Betty the crone. She reminds me of another matchmaker from other stories. Gideon and Faye were well written, and well developed. There are sexual scenes in this story. If this offends you this may not be the book for you. Otherwise, I recommend this book.
As always it's a pleasure. I really enjoyed this. I figured she was his mate when he got all protective of her after their first meeting. I really thought he would have figure that out when he wouldn't let her go back home when she was sick. It was fun seeing him get frustrated because he couldn't see she was his.
I love the crones and the way they interpret the signs. I loved watching Gideon and Faye getting to know one another. It was a little suspenseful with the illness and falling off a cliff but it also made me want to tare my hair out how long it took her to realize Gideon was telling her the truth. Cant wait to see what Moxie comes up with next.
I didn't want it to end. I loved this!! I didn't know what to think about the way they spent time together but I think it worked out pretty good. Not very romantical.... but they got there.
If you are looking for spice, this isn’t it. Yes,there are a few sex scenes, but they are closer to the end than the beginning.
This is a sweet shifter romance. I really wish there were more Kindred novels, not just the 7 Brides series. I want more stories with the crones and some of the other side characters in here.
I really enjoyed that the shifters don’t immediately know who is their mate. They have to wait to hear “the calling”. Though this could lead to mates passing each other and never finding each other. I guess that’s what the Crones are for.
Gideon and Faye were good together. There was a bit of angst with them fighting their feeling for each other, before they knew they were mates. But once they knew, he was all in. She was the one with reservations, and that’s okay. She’s human and didn’t have the same reassurance that things were going to be okay.
Overall this is a sweet story that I will be re-reading. You may need to wait for the spice, but you won’t be disappointed when you finally get it. It’s a quick read and feels more like a fairytale than anything.
Let me start by saying that I have really enjoyed this author in the past; however, this book was frustrating. You expect shifter romances to have a quick start to romance, but this book was, at least, two-thirds along before Gideon figures out that his attraction to Faye is actually due to a mate bond. It was also aggravating, because it was so obvious from the beginning that the main characters were mates. So, the relationship angst felt manufactured, which led to me skimming through most of the book. It also made the characters seem indecisive and weak, which interfered with character development, overall. The characters became unrealistic, and foreign, as the story concluded. Again, very frustrating read.
Even though it seemed like a fairytale. The characters learns to change their ways and views. Made it feel like it could happen someday. I couldn’t put it down for long.
A sweet, romantic story of Gideon a kindred, realizes, finally, that his new friend is so much more. Story drags a bit, but the characters are well formed and the plot is captivating.
I rarely rate a book 5 but this one had all the bells & whistles! Sexy, funny and a little sad. Loved the characters and an engaging story. Now I need to read more from this author.
I enjoyed that it didn't have a manipulative ex or a psycho ex. It's a sweet story of two worlds finding their way to each other. I would love more stories in the Kindred world, starting with Sabrina.
This is a beautiful written book. Love the way it keep me on the edge of my seat. When you thought one thing would happen the unexpected did. The love of the characters was so enchanting ,you could not help but feel it.
An unbelievable amount of time spent on her just having a high fever and the flu. Please move on. So much of the writing was wasted on her being sick that I just don't care about the characters anymore and now this is going on my DNF shelf.
Sweet, quick shifter romance. I almost skipped it because I am not a fan of the influx of billionaire books flooding the market. This one was cute though. (:
Really enjoyed this love story. I really liked that it wasn’t “I love you. No I love you more” every other page. I appreciated also that it wasn’t sex every other page also.
An interesting book,a little bit slow at first. I haven’t read a story quite like this before,so it took me a minute to get into it,once I did,it moved right along !
