After four years spent apart, Aaron is on his way home to marry the love of his life—his best friend. The proposal? It’s about to end in disaster.

Dedicated, determined, and head-over-heels in love, Aaron is ready to settle down with the man of his dreams—his best friend, Gage. With a prestigious degree under his belt, a promising career ahead of him, and a loving boyfriend to pamper and spoil for the rest of their lives, the future is brighter than it’s ever been.

Isn’t it?

The lie Gage has been living for the last four years is about to fall apart, and there’s only one way he can see himself holding it together. The proposal? It’s everything he’s ever wanted, but something he might never be able to have…

When the steamiest summer of Gage’s life leaves him pregnant with Aaron’s child, Gage knows what he has to do. He’s made Aaron a promise, and the future of their family depends on it.

Forced to keep his son a secret from everyone—even Aaron—Gage does whatever it takes in order to keep a roof over their heads. But when his child gets sick and Gage can’t afford medical treatment, he has a difficult choice to make.

How far will he go to keep his future family together?

When an unexpected reunion brings Aaron and Gage back together, they’re faced with a choice: overcome the obstacles standing in their way to becoming a happy family, or accept that the proposal they’ve both been dreaming of is never going to happen.

The Proposal is a 70,000 word contemporary omegaverse mpreg novel featuring a quirky group of single dads, a live stream you’re never going to forget, pretty pearls in naughty places, and a love that neither time nor distance can tear apart.

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Obey was born several months later… but the plot bunny never left—it multiplied.

Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Reading this book was like watching two trains almost collide on the track. You can see the inevitable the mile off but you can't look away, because you know it will be horrific and you want to watch every last second. And then, at the last second, an antelope wearing a horse mask jumps onto the switch board and changes the tracks so the trains swipe past each other and disaster is avoided. I use this strange analogy because the end result of this "train crash waiting to happen" was just as unbelievable and just as much bullshit.

I take notes when I read, so I can write these reviews. They are mostly for my own benefit, I know 99.999% of people do not care what I have to say. I write these reviews so that, when I look back and go "now, what was that book again? And how did I feel about it?" I have more than a couple of stars to tell me exactly what my issues were, and exactly what I liked. It helps me. Normally, my reading notes are short quips about how something is dumb, or how a particular plot point makes me feel. My notes for The Proposal are nearly all long winded rants about how FUCKING STUPID GAGE AND FUCKING AARON ARE. AGH! Seriously, almost every single note about this book is a rant, or has ALL CAPS words, or has words elloooooongated for effect. Because this book frustrated me to the point of almost tears. I didn't know whether to scream in frustration, or laugh in resignation at the end.

Let's start with my first impressions, because this is part of a series. So going into this book we know a few things:
1) Gage is "waiting" for Aaron to return from whatever big, important thing he's been off traipsing about doing.
2) Gage has a mysterious job that not even his closest friend knows what he does.
3) Gage has told everyone FUCK ALL about his having a four year old son, including and most egregiously THE FATHER OF HIS AFOREMENTIONED SON.

Ok, so I guess I could get behind that. Except, no. I really can't. Because it is so monstrously stupid that I just want to grab Gage by the neck and give him a firm, whiplash inducing shake. It is an over-dramatic, soap-opera-esque plot device that relies on me to believe that a teenager would rather raise his son alone than ask for help and risk his baby daddy finding out he's a daddy. And there was nothing in this world that would justify to me him allowing Aaron to run off to Munich, when there are plenty of schools in the area and it seems like they have family connections in the field he wants to work in anyways so why did he have to go to "le #1 school" anyways? I imagined, at first, that Aaron wanted to be a politician, or a famous actor, and having a child out of wedlock in the public spotlight would be bad for him but that made even less sense. What we got was dumb. Gage is dumb. His reasoning is dumb. The plot is dumb.

On the plus side, at least the sexy stuff is sweltering, I guess.

My Major Problems (sorry, this is about to get rambly)...

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

* SO, lets start this ramble-fest off with the obvious: Gage spent 4 years lying his ass off about every single thing in his life to the man he is in love with, things that obviously and clearly effected Aaron too, and expected everything to be hunky dory when Aaron returned. Not only is this extremely short sighted and naive, it is incredibly offensive to Aaron. He removed Aaron's ability to chose, he decided unilaterally that he was going to raise Bo alone and in secret until Aaron was done his (inextricably four year???) PhD in Europe. He does NOT view Aaron as a partner. There is nothing in anything he does that makes it seem like Gage, or Aaron for that matter, views their lover as a full partner. Gage makes a ton of life altering decisions alone when he SHOULD have gone to Aaron with them so they could decide TOGETHER. LIKE A REAL FUCKING COUPLE. AAGH!

* On that topic, NO ONE IN THIS FUCKING BOOK CAN FUCKING COMMUNICATE AND IT MADE ME WANT TO TEAR MY HAIR OUT. No one, NO ONE, at ANY fucking point just goes to the person they SHOULD be talking to, and talks. Gage should have told Aaron about both Bo and the cam stuff YEARS ago, or at least his parents, Aaron should have told Gage he was graduating and coming home, Gage should have ASKED when Aaron was coming home, Aaron should have waited for an explanation before blowing up at Gage and scaring the poor baby, Gage should have told him about Knot, Aaron should have gone and confronted Gage about Knot, it goes on and on. I could go on all day. No one in this book is capable of communicating. Which means...

* MANUFACTURED DRAMA. MANUFACTURED DRAMA ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE. If all of the tension in your book comes from miscommunications, or characters straight up refusing to communicate, it is NOT a good plot. It is a weak plot, that relies on your characters acting like either a) children, or b) FUCKWITS. It is a surefire way to get me irritated with them.

* The unconditional love BS. This relationship is SO, MASSIVELY unhealthy. They are co-dependent messes (which is honestly impressive given they were only together 3 months, apart for 5 years, and the sheer volume of lies between them). Aaron forgives EVERYTHING, IMMEDIATELY. He is upset for all of 5 seconds until Gage starts crying and then, magically, all is forgiven. The four years of lying, forgotten like last weeks leftovers in the back of the fridge. They were supposed to be doing long distance, I guess. But Gage is camming for money, and he lied about school, and what he was doing, and the fact that THEY HAD A SON. I mean, if this was real life, or this was me, I could not be romantically entangled with Gage for a while after this. He stripped Aaron of so much in not allowing him access to his son for those four years. He deprived Aaron of the chance to be a father, or to step up, and martyred himself for no fucking good reason. But no, instead Aaron forgives Bo of EVERYTHING, up to and including (from his POV) fucking another dude and talking about marriage.

* Honesty time! Knot/Gage was the better damn story here. We are 100% NOT supposed to like Knot in this book. He is supposed to be a villain of sorts, I guess. But honestly, I found him to be the voice of reason in a sea of dumbasses. I swear to god, I found myself agreeing with Knot so much. Aaron WAS a piece of work. Knot's concern was ENTIRELY valid. Aaron invaded Gage's privacy, RESPONDED TO PRIVATE MESSAGES ON HIS BEHALF, and then FLIPPED HIS LID AND RAN OFF WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A "Hey, I need some air I'll be back in 30". I am honestly so concerned about this relationship between Aaron/Gage. It is so many levels of unhealthy between Gage's lies and inability to communicate, and Aaron's quick temper and inability to communicate and willingness to violate privacy.

* This one line sums up my opinions on the fact that not once, but twice, Aaron immediately jumped to the conclusion that Gage had cheated on him and flipped his fucking lid: ""Bo is mine, right?" he asked weakly. "Gage hasn't been..." There was silence. When Alex finally spoke, his words were burdened. "If you need to ask that, then maybe you don't deserve to have Gage back." FUCKING AMEN.

* HIS KID WAS SICK BECAUSE HE WAS TOO MUCH OF A DUMB CUNT TO TELL ANYONE LITERALLY ANYONE THAT THE KID EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE AND OH BY THE WAY HE HAD THE KID IN THE BATHTUB BECAUSE FUCK YOU THATS WHY AND THE KID WAS SICK BECAUSE NO ONE KNEW HE EXISTED AND JESUS FUCKING CHRIST GAGE YOU DUMB FUCKING BITCH. YOU DUMB FUCKING FUCKER. OH MY GOD. I didn't know whether to laugh, or cry in frustration at this point.

* AND SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, everything that Gage did - all the lies and the deceit, all the needless suffering he and their son - was AARON'S FAULT. It's not Gage's fault he lied, no it's all on Aaron who told him to "be strong" until he could return with a PhD he, honestly, probably didn't even need in the first place. How was Aaron supposed to know that Gage would twist his words into "hey if you get pregnant, raise our child all on your own for four years and just go without eating for days or sell your body for money if you need to or almost let our son die because you can't afford the doctor or almost marry another man because you need his insurance because you can't tell me because I need you to beeee strooooonng".

* Gage is stupid, makes REALLY REALLY stupid decisions. Aaron is stupid, he blindly loves a man who has spent 4 years lying to him about almost everything. This plot is stupid, it makes no sense and irritates the EVER LOVING FUCK out of me. This book is stupid, it tries to get me to dislike the voice of reason, and like the dumb fucking unhealthy ass couple at the center of it all.

But hey, at least the sexy stuff was on point.

Loved the beginning, HATED the middle bit, and then enjoyed the end! So - I would probably go 3.5 stars, but not quite 4 for this one for me.

We first met Gage in the first book of the Single Dad Support Group series, and knew that he is raising his boy, Bo, on his own, and definitely had a story to tell. In this story, we find out why he has hidden his son away from everyone he knows - his family, friends, and more importantly, the father of the baby. Although Gage and Aaron still talk, Gage is determined to "stay strong" so that Aaron can focus on his studies and come home to Gage with a successful future planned. That really frustrated me when I learned that, because it was very clear that he would have had support if he had told his parents, and instead just let him and his kid suffer along for 4 years to keep it a secret - yes, he did put his love for Aaron above that of his kid and himself. Not cool.

There was definitely lots of emotion as Aaron comes home and realizes that he now has a son. But he's determined to make up for lost time and take care of Gage, and does so right away - getting Gage and Bo out of their crappy apartment, starting to get things set up for Bo to get the treatment and answers he needs. I do wish we had had more interaction between Aaron and Bo - I get that Bo was against so many changes and having Aaron back in the picture, but yeah - I wish there had been more.

And then there's the middle bit...where Aaron kinda does a 180 in temperament and logic and instead of just TALKING to Gage, assumes the worst, and overreacts. I hate the big misunderstanding plot, where none of this unnecessary drama would happen if the characters would just talk to each other!

Also? I don't know how the author can redeem KnotmyProblem (one of the guys in the Single Dad online chat group) because he was a total ass, and also could have helped the entire situation be avoided if he had just been upfront about things. UGH, what a jerk.

So yeah, I loved the beginning of this, the middle parts just really, really frustrated me, and the ending was sweet. I feel like I was expecting some drama as far as the backstory for Gage and Bo, but, just - completely different drama than what this story had.

Looking forward to the next story in this series! Will keep reading!

Piper Scott always puts an unusual spin on everything she writes!

Three quarters of the way through The Proposal I'm enjoying the heck out of a wonderful 'second chance' romance. I've got this feeling like something's just gotta go wrong... a few too important lose ends still floating around out there. Well, bamm, we get every bit of our expected angst in one fell swoop, and it was was awesome.

This series is unique and a lot of fun, plus it's performed by Michael Ferraiuolo who does an amazing job. I love his voices, and he puts incredible emotion into everything he narrates. It's easy to hear how much he enjoys reading Piper Scott's stories and they're a marvelous combination.

an audiobook copy of The Proposal was provided to me for the purpose of my honest review

Near the end of the book, I was just realized that this is a spin-off from the previous series (His Command). And Aaron and Gage are both sons of Marshall and Oli and Cedric and Gabriel. And that made my heart broken, to know that their sons, had to experience such heartbreaking life.
I wanted to mad at Gage for keeping secret for so long, I can't stand seeing Bo's suffering for so long. But he was a teenager when he made a decision to keep his son a secret, for Aaron's sake. Speaking of sacrifice! Gare surely doing it all in.
I liked this book better than the first one, Gage and Bo, especially, made me cry. And the 'job' he did for Bo's sake, touched my motherly heart, I know some people who would do 'anything' for their children. And Gage did that, unselfishly.
This is a heartwarming family story, true love and sacrifice, acceptance and forgiveness. I loved this book. I loved Aaron and Gage and Bo.
Recommended!

4 stars!

Omg! I just realised these are the kids from the His Command series! I don’t know why I didn’t figure it out sooner. Now I think I need to go back and read that series all over again!

Anyways, I have to say since the first book in this series, I’ve always been fascinated and excited about Gage’s story. It seemed like it would be pretty epic and perhaps slightly angsty. While it’s slightly angsty and as Gage’s life is revealed, really freaking sad, it wasn’t quite as epic as I had hoped for.

First, Aaron was so reasonable! Which was took the wind out of the sails. I was expecting epic drama! Then Aaron was so unreasonable! Which felt a little too late and if he was okay earlier, I didn’t understand why he’d be so...insecure so late in the game.

It felt like it was a break in character for him. And that it was used as a plot device to move the story where the author needed it to go. And I’m a little disappointed by that because it was going so well and still had more drama up its sleeve. If she’d only let them get there on their own, it would have been so much better!

Once I realised who their parents were, the book got bumped one star up. Because it really gave the book a depth that I couldn’t piece together when I was clueless earlier. Had to go back and read the last 8 chapters or so, and everything clicked!

I can’t remember who Mal is though. I need to go back and read Gabriel and Cedric’s story! In the meantime, I’ll definitely read the rest of this series. I wonder whose kids will make an appearance next! =]]

I'm really conflicted about this one so maybe I'll just rattle off a list.

I liked:

Aaron and his devotion to his and Gage's relationship. I was pretty sure in the last book that Aaron wasn't going to be all Gage said he was.

Aaron and Gage together are all kinds of sweet and hot.

Knot talking smack to Aaron (Knot is the most intriguing member of the Group so far).

I didn't like:

We didn't get a lot of Aaron and Bo bonding time.

Bo has been very sick for a YEAR AND A HALF and Gage still won't tell Aaron he has a son or tell and seek help from his or Aaron's family who apparently are reasonable people and have the means to help.

That last part is what made my reading experience a lot less enjoyable than it probably otherwise would have been. I was annoyed about it through so much of the book even though I liked the characters and story otherwise. I don't even know how to rate it. Maybe a 3? I'll still be moving to the next book though.

Ok, so I am giving this book 5 stars, but... While I really did like this book, I Loved the first book in this series (which I would have given more than 5 stars if I could have) way more than this book, this one just didn't hit the mark with me as much as book1 did. This book was great overall, the storyline flowed really well, no writing or editing errors that I could see. And we do get a little bit of everything in this book. It was interesting, and cute and kept me entertained cause I wanted to see where it was heading. But I really wasn't too impressed with the premise of this story, and how Gage still kept Bo hidden from Aaron and both their families for over a year after Bo got sick. I mean really, He definitely had the means to get Bo help a lot sooner if he would have just sucked up his pride and contacted any single person in his or Aarons family; but instead he would rather get married to some random stranger he never even met in person to get healthcare *rolls eyes*. I did sympathize with Gage though, its really difficult seeing your child when they are sick, and trying to decide what the "Right" decision is when it comes to making the hard choices especially when your alone and you don't really know what going on. There were a few HOT parts in the book which really redeemed it for me. I also didn't realize until closer to the end of the book who Gage & Aarons parents were **This series is a spin off from the His Command Series** so that was really Cool to see them included in this one!!! And I really liked how the dads support group was still a in a good part of this book, and I really hope we find out who's next up in the series soon, I cant wait to see who it is.
We originally met Gage in book one as a member of the Single Dad support group "TeenDad2" and he is also Alex's (from book1) best friend. Gage is doing what he thinks is best when it comes to raising his son Bo, he's trying to make ends meet doing Cam shows that he hates in order to keep a roof over their heads and food in their mouths, and pay for medical bills when Bo ends up sick. Aaron has been away for the past 4 years but is coming back to make Gage his, permanently now that he's finished with school. He plans to surprise Gage with a proposal, but ends up getting a surprise of his own instead. They both have a lot of secrets and Hurt to deal with from the past few years, and to figure out what will come next in the future, in order to make everything work out the way they had hoped and planned.

The Proposal
So we met Gage in book one through the online forum Single Dads, he's raising his sick son, Bo, waiting for the love of his life to return.
Gage needs to raise money to pay for Bo's rising medical expenses, he knows one person he could ask, Aaron, but he can't as he would rush back and he promised Aaron he would stay strong. Instead he turns to caming which he keeps secret. He also has help from the Single Dad's and Alex, his cousin from book one, except KnotMyProblem who has been coming onto strong even though Gage keeps saying no he loves Aaron and always will. When they guys suggest he marries someone with insurance KnotMyProblem jumps at the chance with Gage begrudgingly agreeing for the sake of his son.
Aaron has been working up to this day since he left Gage. He's going to surprise Gage and ask him to marry him. When he arrives its him that's shocked Gage has a son! Who's he had a son with, when and why has he cheated on him?
Will Aaron be able to trust Gage and what other secrets has he got? Will Bo get the treatment he so desperately needs?
I love book one but I floved this one. The connection and love they have for each other is beautiful, add in their little boy Bo makes this my fav so far. Definitely 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

‘The Proposal’ is the second book in Piper Scott’s series “Single Dad’s Support Group” and...

it’s Gage’s story. Gage was introduced to us in ‘The Problem’. He’s not only a member of the SDSG (Single Dad’s Support Group) he’s also Alex’s best friend.

I liked Gage and his little boy Bo when we met him in ‘The Proposal’ and that hasn’t changed. I got enough of his story in that first book to know that for whatever reason the man that Gage loved and who is Bo’s father wasn’t actively present in his life but still very much in his heart and now here in Gage’s story ‘The Proposal’ the reader is given the missing details of where Aaron’s been all these years and why.

When Aaron returns from years away at school earning his PhD, he’s determined to reclaim Gage the love of his life. What he doesn’t count on is that he’s now got a ready-made family when he discovers that he’s got a son…an adorable little boy named Bo.

As much as Aaron and Gage love each other now that Aaron’s home their world isn’t all goodness and light. They’ve got nearly 5 years of being apart to work through. Gage has kept so much of his life a secret and once things come to light Aaron has to find a way to process it all and deal with his own guilt over how his actions contributed to Gage’s choices.

At the beginning of this story things were a little slow for me…you might even say a bit hit and miss. But as the story progressed, I found myself enjoying the story and becoming more invested in the characters. While I like Gage a lot even back in the first story. I found myself becoming even more attached to him. He’s a sweet young man and even though his choices weren’t always good they were made with the best of intentions. I appreciated that Aaron turned out to be every bit as likable as Gage and not the shady person that some of Gage’s friends thought he might be.

While both men made mistakes and there was a definite breakdown in communication that contributed largely to their problems, thankfully it wasn’t left to fester and grow. Aaron and Gage were fairly quick to talk to each other and resolve their issues.

I found a lot more to enjoy in this story from the relationship dynamics between the MCs to the fact that Gage and Aaron seemed to interact a bit more with secondary characters. I found myself invested in seeing them get their happily ever after.

Also there were a few secondary characters whom I’d love to read more about from Aaron’s twin brother Caleb to Gage’s parents as well some of Gage’s fellow SDSG members, whose stories are yet to come in this series. I have to admit I’m especially interested in finding out more about Knot My Problem.

‘The Proposal’ follows Gage and Aaron’s story from their beginnings as two young men in love and struggling through a prolonged separation to their reunion and the struggle to once again find their place in each others lives to create a family with a future filled with love and promise.

Michael Ferraiuolo has once again made a solid contribution to bringing this story to life as the narrator and once again he’s give me voices that are unique, distinct and interesting providing the listener with an audio experience that adds to their overall enjoyment of the story.

While I wasn’t sure whether or not I’d continue with this series after the first book since for me it was simply an ok listen. Here at the end of the proposal I find myself looking forward to the next story especially since one of the MCs is someone who’s been in the background of the first two stories and I’ve seen just enough of him to want more and to feel like he’s someone who, like Gage, very much deserves their own happily ever after.

An audio book of ‘The Proposal’ was graciously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I did so much skimming towards the end I don’t even know if I can count this as read. There was too much unnecessary drama that I saw coming, and it was boring to read. Sometimes drama is fun but this time is was just annoying. Miscommunication is my least favorite trope and that’s what happened in this book 🙄 Knot my problem annoyed me and I’m not really interested in reading about him if he has a book. Arron and Gage were cute but we didn’t even get experience their love it was just drama. Anyways I had a feeling I wouldn’t like his book but the 3rd one sounds cute

Edit: Knot is not that bad and now I see where he was coming from. I’m actually super exited for his book

DNF

This is one of the few books I DNF. I just couldn’t anymore. It’s about an omega named Gage and an aloha named Aaron. The are dating. Aaron is going to college over seas. They are making it work. For four years they both bust their butts. Aaron to finish his PhD so he could support them and a family. Gage to support himself and their kid. Ok. My problem is gage got pregnant and didn’t tell ANYONE not even Aaron because he didn’t want him to drop out of school. For FOUR years he kept the kid a dirty little secret. Martyring himself and making him and the kid suffer needlessly. The Aaron gets home to find out his has a kid that is terrified of him. Lies by omission that gage keeps from him. He prostitutes himself online (no actual partners) and About to marry a stranger he met online so he could support their kid INSTEAD of telling the actual fing father!! Or his rich parents!!! What the hell? But wait it gets better. Aaron finds out about the other dude who antagonizes him and keys him think gage has been cheating on him, so he gets upset and leaves. Understandably so!! Then gage gets all pity party on himself and FINALLY decides to go home to his parents. WITHOUT TELLING AARON!! The cherry on top is everything that gage did is somehow Aaron’s fault!! I can’t even! It’s so irritating. I don’t usually hate characters but I couldn’t stand gage. His friends were annoying but clueless. Everyone is singing gages praises and treating Aaron like a selfish dead beat Dad/alpha. I won’t read anymore from this author for a while. That’s how bad a taste they left with this book. 😠

I've been waiting for this book FOREVER! When I saw it on Amazon today I almost combusted in happiness. But during the reading and now, after finishing the book I feel empty. The story was full of holes, rushed in some scenes, too much sex without a point, unreal expectations, unreal scenes like everything I didn't want in a book rolled all together.

I didn't see much plot, the idea of Gage hiding a child for 4 years just so his boyfriend could finish school was something that even on the first book left me a bit speechless because of the unrealistic point of it. Why not having your family's support, they could keep a secret. If not, tell the father and make sure he would finish school without problems knowing you and your child were safe and in the family waiting for him.

But no, Gage had to suffer forever just to have his childhood love finish school - like there aren't other ways to attain a Ph.D. degree than to suffer. Not only that, Aaron jumping to conclusions as soon as he saw Bo then having sex with Greg in front of the camera I was like, what is happening here. I didn't feel a connection between these characters and Knotmyproblem being an ass was also so irrelevant to the whole plot, like a villain on the Internet who was an ass but wanted Greg to be happy.

I feel the book was rushed to the point it wasn't necessary to be so. While I loved the first one, with this one I feel no connection. I liked Gage much more on the first book than here.

I did not enjoy this. Aaron presented himself as a selfish and irresponsible man who had no business having unprotected sex with a highschooler. Gage was a lovesick idiot who put Aaron above everything, including his own child. Everything was just so ridiculously unrealistic that it was more infuriating than anything. Aaron evolved from selfish prick to selfish jealous prick. And I had no love for any of the characters and therefore could not enjoy the sex scenes.

I think the fact that Piper Scott had them maintain a relationship during the 5 year separation is what ruined the secret baby gimmick for me. Also Knott-My-Problem was the only voice of reason and maybe Gage should've got with him instead.

"TD [Gauge] deserves a fucking man, not a little manlet who can’t hold his tongue long enough not to jump to conclusions."
“If you need to ask that, then maybe you don’t deserve to have Gage back"
“To think that after all that time, seeing the love he had for you, all the tiny, indulgent smiles and the affection in his eyes… it’s hard. It’s hard to have been there beside him as he made sacrifices and stupid decisions for your sake year after year, and harder still to know that you’re already at each other’s throats..."

This was good, I enjoyed it. I love Bo, Gage and Aaron's little boy, to bits. He was so cute and adorable and sweet. My heart broke every time he coughed or his chest rattled too :( But thankfully they are able to figure out what it is and get him help. So cute! (Also, in case you don't know yet, this has mpreg in it, so warning for that).

Right away the premise of this, though is...a little tough to get past. Gage kept his and Aaron's son a secret from everyone except for like two people and live in shitty conditions and had a hard life on his own with barely any help just so Aaron could go to school in another country and follow his dreams.

That's some unhealthy shit right there. It just is. BUT....but, the book acknowledges that. GAGE acknowledges that he screwed up because he put his love for Aaron above his son, which should have come first. And that is true.

But I like that the book acknowledged it, that the characters acknowledged it. That Aaron said almost right away that when he told Gage to be strong, hiding their son away for almost 4 years is not what he meant. That he understand what Gage did and why did it and appreciated it - because Gage literally put his life and their son's on hold for almost 4 years FOR Aaron.

I mean, he also was ultimately trying to do it for himself and Bo as well. So that when Aaron came back he could take care of them all and they could have a good life together. But that's still ultimately for Aaron, so he could get the best education and have the best job so he could provide for his family.

It's just messed up, plain and simple. But it is acknowledged, which I appreciated, and when their parents find out Gage realizes what he did wrong and how he could have had support and help along the way. He didn't have to do it alone.

But he was 18 years old when he got pregnant, he was hopelessly in love, and not mature enough to handle it. And I don't blame Aaron either because he didn't know at all, and he thought Gage was back in the state in college, living a relatively good life while they waited to be together. If anyone had known, Aaron included, he would have been there for Gage and their son.

But I loved something that Aaron said to Gage in this book - that he made a mistake (they both made mistakes) but he can learn from it. That's the thing about mistakes. Gage knows better now and he was able to acknowledge his mistakes and what he did wrong. He was starting to grow up.

Loving you child and being a good parent doesn't mean you won't screw up - as evidenced by Aaron's dad's, who I think screwed up with something too, although it wasn't horrible. Still a screw up - and that you won't make mistakes.

Ultimately I enjoyed this because of how the situation was handled and how Gage and Aaron reconnected, and how strong their love for each other was. They faltered and Aaron (stupidly) had doubts, but they worked through it and got to a good place.

I do wish we had gotten more bonding moments between Aaron and Bo. I thought they were pretty few and far between. First, because Bo was weary of Aaron - which is understandable, he was a stranger - but then it just got near the end and we didn't really get to see the transition from when Bo was weary of Aaron to being okay with him and seeing as his Daddy. There was a five day jump near the end that we didn't get to see, but if we had gotten to see some of the moments leading up to where Bo accepted Aaron, that would have been great. Because then it just kinda happened and I felt kind of bummed because we didn't get see a lot of their scenes together - and then one minutes Bo loves him after having turned away from him before, so *shrug*

Also, KnotMyProblem from the Single Dad Support Group, was a complete asshole in this. I don't know if he'll become a future character or not, but I hope he doesn't. Or if he does, the author will really have to redeem him. He's never met Gage in person and yet he acts like he knows him better than Aaron, that he knows how Gage feels and how Aaron really is (even though Gage never said Aaron was in any way ) and like he has knowledge of the full situation. Know doesn't even apologize. Screw him, and if he gets a book, he better have a good redemption, is all I'm saying.

Alex wasn't in this much, which bummed me out. I loved him from the first book. Laurence wasn't in it at all, except for being mentioned in passing. .

So overall this was a good story, although quite frustrating at times. And when Knot creates drama and (of course) Aaron and Gage both fall into the cliche'd trap of not TALKING to each other and instead fearing and believing the worst, even if it's just for 5 minutes, it felt a tad manufactured for drama's sake. But at least it was resolved fairly quickly.

Anyway, Gage and Aaron did have great chemistry and they were ultimately hot, sweet and awesome together. I enjoyed reading how they built their relationship again and how everything was resolved. A good story, just a lot of people making a lot of frustrating mistakes.

Definitely worth a read though (if you enjoy Mpreg, although Gage isn't pregnant in this until the end.)

Gage and Aaron are couple number 2. The Proposal from the start was so heart warming. No Gage's son was very sick in book one and now in the one we learn the reason behind it.

In the end things workout for Gage and Aaron. Even through all the obstacles that was put before them.

This was one of my favorite SDSG books when I read, and the audio, fabulously narrated by Michael Ferraiulo, only made me love it even more! Aaron and Gage were not the brightest throughout the book, but their love shone through completely. I loved that in the first book you think Gage is sweet and innocent, but find out here how truly kinky he is when he’s with the man he loves. And while I didn’t like the way Aaron handled everything, you could tell Gage and Beau were his main concerns at all times. It was great seeing some old familiar faces too!

Gage, Aaron, and Bo (an audio review)

When I met Gage in the first book in the series, my heart broke. A single father reliant on webcam sex work and the generosity of friends just to get by. And then his son Bo got sick and Gage couldn’t afford to take him to the doctor. My heart broke every time the little guy’s lungs crackled and I tried to see things from Gage’s perspective – how he was convinced he would ruin his love’s life if the guy found out he was a father. Ugh, it was brutal. His story almost overtook Alex’s and that’s saying something. Alex got his happy ending, though, and now came this book.

In the opening scene I got a real sense of Gage and the love of his life, Aaron. Given all they did, it was hardly surprising Gage got knocked up. But the kind of deprivation he endured just so Aaron could complete is PhD was harrowing. I also found it a little hard to believe that in over four years Aaron never came back to the States, despite being desperately in love with Gage. Just a minor point but it had to be that way to keep Bo a secret. Oh, and I love what his name represents.

It takes several POV shifts before the men finally are in each other’s company. I had high expectations, but didn’t foresee the direction things would take. After that adventure, things move quickly. Aaron whisks Gage and Bo into a new home and suddenly the pair have everything they could possibly need – including appointments for tests for Bo. I had hope. Until I saw a side of Aaron I didn’t like. He jumped to conclusion after conclusion – all of them wrong. It’s like instead of talking to Gage, he made up his mind on certain things. I wanted to whack him on the head so perhaps he’d see some sense. Only when he’s facing losing everything does he finally get it.

I have to mention the Single Dads Club. Those message interactions are sometimes a hoot, sometimes very touching. These men are the reason Gage survived single fatherhood. The reason he didn’t give up. The reason he did such a great job with Bo. We would all be so lucky to have such a close group of friends. In the end Gage makes it and that brought me joy. Aaron also finally got his head out of his ass. Some people might be sympathetic to him but I wasn’t. Gage loved him so I tried to see things from his perspective. Had a tough time doing it.

In the end I got my happy ending and that’s what really mattered. I still worry about Bo even though things look much brighter. I’m also curious about some of the other single dads and am glad to see there are a bunch more books in the series. Hopefully they’re coming to audio soon.

Michael Ferraiuolo is narrating this series and I couldn’t be more thrilled. He does such a great job, giving each single father a very distinctive voice. He also does a beautiful Bo, giving that child-like vulnerability I expected. Another great audio and I can’t wait for the next one. Oh, and purple glitter. Have to have the purple glitter. That sh-, uh, stuff, gets everywhere…

TeenDad2 aka Gage is a cutiepie! I fell in love with him in the first book and couldn't wait to finally read/listen to his story. And this book was everything I hoped for Gage and everything he deserves.

Gage and Aaron's relationship was really cute, teen love with the promise to love each other in their whole life. Loved Gage and Aaron and Beau♥

The Single Dad chats are always fun and loved how Knot was this cute with Gage. And I just LOVE the way Michael narrates those voices, everyone is just perfect. Love listening to these guys with Michael's voice.

Loved the story and how strong Gage was in every way. And loved how caring Aaron was and how perfect they were for each other. This book was full with love and emotions.

Really loved listening to this and I can't wait the other books to be on audio too!

Ps. Gage's voice is like Harry from the Forbidden Desires *swoon*, love it!

This Single Dad Support Group series has become one of my top 5 series of all time. The Proposal is book 2 and follows Gage – the youngest of the Single Dads and someone I have the softest spot for. Gage is simply the most adorable and devoted man who loves with his whole heart. This book is pivotal to the whole series and sets up many other plot points along the rest of the books. The narration by Michael Ferraiuolo is exquisite and he brings Gage, Bo, Aaron and Knot to life in ways my mind didn’t have capacity for.

Okay so….

Pros:
-Bo what a cutie
-Michael Ferraiuolo

Cons:
-Over reacting without communication… so jumping to conclusions…Aaron looking at you dude.
-pace felt weird to me with the time Aaron got back to the states to when they talked everything through and made up (aka all the things Gage kept secret from Aaron went unpunished)

I am looking forward to xV’s book so on to the next, but as of now between the first two books I’ve read so far the first one is my favorite.

Great

Enjoyed book 2 of this series. Best friends to lovers, Gage hides his pregnancy and baby from his boyfriend. But when Aaron surprises Gage and the truth comes out, problems ensue that even the SDSG can't help.

I have been WAITING for Gages story and anticipating it like crazy since book one and the author did not disappoint. The story had everything in it. It was funny and sweet, heartbreaking at times and emotional. Both MCs were so damn genuine and true to eachother and it was honestly beautiful to read.

I loved what Bo added to the story. At certain times, he felt like my heart. So vulnerable and sweet.

The only thing I wish is that we got more Bo, Aaron and Gage interactions at the end, specifically Bo and Aaron. We do see a little bit of it, but I wanted to see Bo connect to Aaron a little bit more. I am sure we will see more of Bo in future books!!

Overall, I LOVED everything in this book! Great read and I cannot wait to read more from this series!

Ahhhhhh! This is the series I've been wanting ever since I read the His Command series by Piper Scott! I wanted to know what happened to the children of those characters, and now I know! I didn't realize it when I was reading the first one, but when I was about 1/2 way through this one, I was like wait... and had to go check to make sure that I was right in thinking that these were the same people. I was right and I was so happy!

Omega Gage has loved Alpha Aaron for what seems like his entire life. When Aaron went to Europe to study for his post graduate degree, he asked Gage to wait for him, to stay strong, and that when he got back, he would build them a wonderful life. In all that time, Gage and Aaron did all they could to keep their love and relationship strong. Well, all but one thing. Gage held back a huge secret, not only from Aaron, but from everyone he knew, except for his best friend, Alex. Gage knew that if his secret came out, Aaron wouldn't be able to follow his dream and things would drastically change. So, when Aaron comes back, he's blindsided.

I fell in love with Gage in the last book and it just deepened in this one. He's such a mix of strong and vulnerable. He does what he can with what he has and makes do when possible. Without his friend Alex and the Single Dad Support Group, he would live in a deep, dark pit of despair all the time, only coming out when his son needed him. Aaron, I mostly liked, but there were a couple of times that I kind of wanted to smack him because he just didn't necessarily think things through. The story is great and the sex is hot, and the chemistry between Aaron and Gage is just everything.

Gage and Aaron were deeply in love, but Aaron had all of his schooling to get though. 5 years older than Gage, Aaron felt that he needed to go off and get himself set so he could take care of Gage and they could be a family when he finished. Gage was completely in love with Aaron and was waiting for him, but being a single dad all alone caused many challenges. When Aaron returned, they had a lot to learn about each other and how to move forward in a different world.

I liked the story. I thought it was sweet how Gage and Aaron were so sure of their feelings for each other, and never once doubted that they were in it for the long haul. There were some moments of insecurity on Aaron's part, but I thought they were justified. Some miscommunication occurred, but fortunately it was very short lived and all worked out well. I liked getting to know the guys, and I am looking forward to seeing more of the chat group guys. Very sweet story.
