Half a year has passed since Ctholly and the other faerie soldiers departed for battle but they have yet to return, leaving Willem in the dark... He heads to the Island 11 in search of answers and brings along Tiat, who is the next in line to carry the burden of the next generation of faerie soldiers. But once they arrive, they hear news that the decisive battle with the Beasts ended in failure and still no sign of their friends...
So after my stumble with book 1, there was enough to check out the next volume. Alas, for me, I believe that will be the end of my WorldEnd reading. I am in no rush to go get more. Even though once again the latter half of the book was more interesting, I am just not feeling it enough to warrant spending the time to find these and read them. Not when there are HUNDREDS of other books out there crying out to be read. It isn't that I hate it, I am just not resonating with it in a way that makes me want to read more. I really don't care about any of the characters beyond finding the setting mildly interesting and sadly the world is not interesting enough for me to want to keep going.
Enough.
Verdict: If WorldEnd appeals to you that's great. Truly, I am glad for you. It does not appeal to me enough to continue with it any time soon.
This was such an emotional roller coaster :'(. Great we got introduced to a new island and the differentiation that exists in this society among the beast people as well. What was the best part of this novel was that the character got more depth and we learned more about regarding the characters past. Now we also know the origin of the Regul AIr as well, which really was surprising and It again proved how sharp the main character is with his predictions. The part with his comrades and sworn enemy really was lively and a joy to read. Finally, that part before ending really broke my heart but...
