Joan Reeves is a New York Times and a USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary Romance. Her novels have been published in a half dozen languages, and her ebooks are available at most ebook sellers with audio book and print editions also available. Several of her books are available in French editions through her publisher in France.
Joan lives the philosophy that is the premise of all of her romance novels: "It's never too late to live happily ever after." She lives her happily ever after with her hero—her husband—in the Lone Star State.
When not writing romance—or nonfiction to share what she has learned in life—Joan divides her time between the hustle and bustle of Houston and a small house in the Texas Hill Country where she and her hero sit on the porch at night, look at the star-studded sky, and listen to the coyotes howl.
This is the second instalment in Joan Reeves All Brides are beautiful series. While part of a series the book can be read as a standalone. Constance Quinn as closed her heart to everyone. Having suffered unimaginable heartbreak at an early age she vowed no one would have the power to hurt her. With the help of her step-daughter she is starting to open up again. Tracking down someone from her past could either save her or destroy her. Alex Martinez is intrigued by his new neighbour. Attraction is instant, but Constance is resisting. Can Alex get her to open up to him or will her secrets drive them apart forever. This is a quick and enjoyable read. The plot develops at a good pace and the characters are well rounded. I would recommend this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I Read this book and decided to check out the first book in the series, “April Fool Bride” to find I already read and loved it. Although this book is part of a series, it is a great stand alone. Just like the last book I just loved the book. A fast read with an interesting plot. I hope you pick up this book and read it and enjoyed as much as I have. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and will be going back to read other Joan Reeves books.
I enjoyed the first book in the series April Fool Bride so I could not wait to give this one a read and what a good book it was it was really well written and had me pulled right into the story. It has really good and interesting characters you won't want to stop reading this one I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
I wasn't even going to read this after meeting Constance (aka wicked stepmother) in book 1. But am glad I did. Looking forward to reading more. Even though the description claims each book stands alone, I think it gives a more well-rounded view of all the characters to have read the previous story.
Second Chance Bride is the second delightful romance in the All Brides Are Beautiful series written by author Joan Reeves. Loved the story! Thanks to NetGalley and Season Publishing for the advance copy.
Constance had to buy the cottage. She didn't want to disrupt his life but she wanted to spend some getting to know him. She didn't count on the instant attraction between herself and Alex. Alex will never love her when he finds what she has done
I received this book through Netgalley. I voluntarily offer my honest opinion of this book. I really enjoyed this book about Constance who I started to like in the first book. She moves into a house that needs alot of work so she can be closer to the son she put up for adoption. She then meets his dad and they have an instant attraction, though she tries to hide the truth of who she is. I really enjoyed reading about them coming together and it also helped me learn alot more about Constance. It was a bit predictable but it was still a good easy read. The only bit that I think didn't work was when her son spoke to her the first time after discovering the truth. It seemed to be very short and could have been given more detail. It was still a good story though that I would recommend as a good easy read xxx
