Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
After reading only the first couple chapters, I quit reading this one...the writing was so juvenile, the plot was so simplistic, and the situations were so unlikely, that I stopped while I was ahead. Considering that this the 21st (!!!) book in the series, and that most of them get great reviews from other readers, there is something here that I'm completely missing. Life is too short to waste it doing something you don't enjoy!
It is my 1st book from Remington Kane. The book can be consider as a movie script for a fast action movie loaded with twists. It passed my time on a flight to and from France. Now that I was intruded to Tanner, I am sure to read more of this series.

OMG! Remington has done it again. The story was exciting right from the first sentence. I never knew Tanner to ever get nervous but he did when he and Sara were in Paris. Tanner being a spy was a hugh stretch. Tanner goes by his own rules and really doesn't follow orders very well, especially from someone whom he hates. Being blackmailed doesn't help matters at all. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. As always, Tanner finishes his contract, even if it was under the veil of blackmail. At least Tanner got his revenge even though he kept his promise to do no harm to the people who blackmailed him. I am absolutely happy that Tanner and Sara are now engaged. This will be an interesting engagement. FANTASTIC job Remington! I would recommend this book.
This KU library selection is a great Tanner series addition. While Tanner and Sara are visiting Sara's father, celebrating their engagement, Sara is arrested for a crime that had been forgiven and is taken to jail. The CIA has a job they want Tanner to complete for them and if he refuses, Sara will go to prison. Tanner agrees, but there are conditions on both sides. The CIA will release Sara and Tanner won't retaliate against them for using her. The same bad actors from the last book are involved, however, which means only Tanner is bound by his word. But, this is Tanner. And Sara is no pushover either. It's a great book!
I have read every Tanner book. He is without a doubt the best of Mr. Kane's characters. I enjoy Mr. White, but hate that Tanner seems to take a back seat to him in the Taken/Tanner novels. In my opinion Tanner should be the ultimate hero of the compilation books. He is smarter, craftier, and deadlier. He has a moral compass, but is just enough "bad" to make him the best of the anti-heroes. He reminds me of another favorite, Victor, from to Woods novels. Keep Tanner coming Mr. Kane. And please give him the lead the next time he and Mr. White team up.
Oh how I wish Tanner was a real life human being that I could meet !! Charm wit romance mystique and a killer all rolled into one package! I have read all the Tanner series from book 1 to book 21! Never a dull moment never a bad book . Some authors when writing series start to or do lose their edge/ perception of their lead characters not so with Remington Kane!! Love his books and the mind boggling author that he is. Have a great day reading this book you won’t be disappointed . I know I wasn’t .
Do not ever threaten Tanner or anyone close to him. And do not ever mess with Sara Blake either. You probably won’t live long enough to regret it. When Tanner is forced into doing a job for the CIA by threats to Sara, you know it won’t end well for the threateners as well as the ones he’s aimed at. No matter the odds or the situation, Tanner always finds a way to triumph.
Twists and turns like crazy with loads of action and violence. It’s a fast read, which is good because it’s hard to put down.
'The Spy Game' was an intriguing read. Well written and well played out. I love how some people think they can manipulate Tanner into doing whatever they ask. He will end up doing it, but on his terms. It's always Tanner's terms. Tanner and Sara make such a deadly team, whether together or on their own. This is definitely one of my favorite series. I can't get enough of these kick-ass characters. Mr. Remington Kane is so creative while writing his stories. I didn't think he would be able to come up with new ways for Tanner to excel, but man was I wrong. A definite must read.
The Spy Game, book 21, TANNER series by Remington Kane. I received this book as an ARC. I am voluntarily posting this review. The TANNER and TAKEN series are my favorite by Remington Kane. I read them as ARCs because reading them as soon as possible is a MUST !!!!! Action and Suspense!!! DESTRUCTION!!! MAYHEM!!! Masterful Unpredictable twists and turns!!! Rollercoaster ride of thrills and emotions!!! YES, I am a Remington Kane fan and loyal reader!!!
What can I say I just love to read it, there is no particular reason I won't get all deep and rehash half the book to you, I just like it! The story moves and the people that deserve what they get get it. If your looking for something that will entertain you then you should read the series. There are parts that are stupid but I love those parts to. It's a good cheap read!
A change of pace for Tanner. Getting blackmailed by the CIA is a mistake as they find out. Tanner remains Tanner throughout the book. Overcoming all obstacles, killing all the bad guys, being a good guy when necessary. Just what we have come to expect. A good read. Lots of action and body count. You know what you are getting when you start a Tanner book. I have not been disappointed yet. Recommended.
This is a ten star read, unfortunately all I can give is five starts which does this author and this book a grave injustice. When it comes to thrillers I h I want more TANNER.ave read the best of the best but Remington Kane goes to the top of that list. The Spy Game (Tanner #21) was the first of his books that I have read but after reading that page burner, I will make it a point to read every book he has already written and every book he writes in the future.
I had purchased this book through a bargain ebook site. As I started reading it, I realized it was part of a series and probably best read in order. I did not like this book. None of the characters were in any way commendable, including the main one named Tanner. It’s hard to have good feelings about a hit man. The book was full of bloody killing and revenge. Way too much for me.
Tanner's fiancé is threatened by the CIA with arrest , if Tanner doesn't go on a mission for them. He agrees to obtain a powerful thumbdrive that contains identities of police forces and undercover agents, both domestic and abroad and to kill the owner of the drive. Turns out the drive is actually hidden in the frame of a pair of eyeglasses, and Tanner doesn't stop with just one killing. His fiancé handles one herself, as well. Don't threaten to arrest her, ever.
As per usual, Remington Lane has scored a perfect score! This is another of his books that you cannot put down until you are finished. It also leaves you wanting more.
Remington Mans has scored a perfect 10 as usual. This is a very good thing! If you are a believer in good always wins, then this is the book for you!
This book has a simple story but remarkable details about how to do an assassination job. The writer is no doubt a,man. The conversation is crisp and short. It's just not natural. Need a woman to help edit the sentence to make it slow more smoothly
How does anyone write 21 books in a series? Remington Kane has done a good job with that. I have not read other books 8n this series and was pleased that this book does not include excessive recounts of others. The story is easy to follow, the characters interesting. If you enjoy spy stories, you will like this one.
Oh my, does Sara really know what she is letting herself in for? Marrying a Tanner? The possibilities are endless, and who would have thought Bernadetti would end her own game. As a review I don't want to give to much away, it really is a page turner of epic proportions. Keep the books coming, I can't wait for the next.
When you come for.the man make sure you are holding all aces. This was a story about kinda of settling the score. The re are moments when the comedic relief is spot on and comes at just the right time. I like that we get to.see old familiar characters. The writer once again gives a story with some meat on its bones.
I was kind of turned off at first but kept reading hon as plot was pretty good. There are so many super humans now that can out think, out shoot, and out fight any other mortal that it is over used in books and movies now. I like to finish any thing I started so I stayed to the very end. I enjoyed the book even if it was a little far fetched. I think the author needs to scale back his heroes accomplishments.

True to Tanner it was a business like read. Would like more location context and intricate scene descriptions. This book seemed a bit rushed in that regard. Still a good read! Thanks.
Another great Tanner read love the way Kane plans his assignments so well thought out as always your grabbed from the page one all the way through great story line and surprising plot .roll on next one well done Mr Kane
What a great story. Kane is currently the BEST author in his genre. Every time a new one comes out I end up reading it virtually non-stop. Problem is he can't write them fast enough. Keep up the GREAT work.
This was fun to read. I enjoy Tanner. I hope the author doesn’t make him mushy or anything like that. He’s great as he is. Enjoyable read. Did it in one day.
Always a five star rating for a Tanner Novel and Remington Kane. The Spy Game was action packed. Couldn't put it down. All Mr. Kane's novels are great reads and can't ever get boring. Anxious for the next Tanner.
Comp!ex from the very beginning, this story holds more twists and turns than I have enjoyed in a very long time. Sorting out the antagonists from the protagonists is very tricky indeed!!!
This is the first time I've FarmIngton Kane and thus book was all I expected and more. Tanner was the penultimate assassin and Sara was no slouch either. I'm going to get Book 22 now.
Characters are ridiculous built, self centered, self indulgent, self righteous and self destructive. Groups of “gangsters” play hide and seek. A wonder boy’s dream and imagination, not worth the time to read.
