Favorite Quotes:

I might be twenty-six, but in my parents' eyes me and Vic are still about twelve. I am, but only in clothes.

I don’t need to prepare anything. People naturally love me. It’s you I’d be worried about. People assume you’ve got something stuck up your arse. You might want to look into that.

It wasn’t my fault, it was Victoria’s… She hit it with a stick while I was at a swimming pool party. It flew around and stung my bum. Then it died, so I felt really sad while Vic laughed that it had been so scared of my bottom it had died of fright.

You like me? … Like, as in you also like cheese? Or a different kind of like?

My Review:

I frequently smirked and occasionally giggled-snorted during this amusing and saucy misadventure of two broke and suddenly unemployed teachers, who were not always comfortable or friendly with each other while sharing a ride during their desperate attempts to find new employment. Both had lost their teaching positions due to a backfired prank, with continued shenanigans, antics, irresponsible behavior, poor planning, bad luck, accidents, mishaps, and incidents of sabotage to come during their careening trek across the country in search of new futures while their limited funds dwindled to mere coins. Written from my favorite dual POV, the story was entertaining and engaging with colorful humor and bits of steam. However, the snarky characters were not always likable or admirable in their motivations as they are often competing for the same limited job openings. Forced to remain in constant contact and close quarters for days on end, they began to see each other differently and an unexpected attraction bloomed in a fretful and vexing manner until they scorched the sheets. I scored a new addition to my Brit Vocabulary list with “on the lash” which is drinking to intoxication.

Having read and adored Laura Barnard’s Babes of Brighton books and the One Month Til I Do books, I was more than ready to dive into her next release. I often find myself somewhat nervous when diving into books written by two authors who usually work alone, so there was that little bit of fear. However, Andie M. Long has caught my attention a few times, so I was more than willing to give the collaboration a try.

It turns out the two authors go together seamlessly. You cannot tell where one stars and the other ends, the two going so well together. There is no doubt I will be reading Andie M. Long in the future – and had I not already been a fan of Laura Barnard, I would be off to pick up some of her books after reading this one.

I honestly question whether I have the vocabulary to explain my feelings towards this one. It was both adorable and absolutely hilarious. I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard at a book, yet this one had me chuckling with nearly every page. Even things where the little voice in the back of my head was pointing out ‘you should not be laughing at that kind of thing, especially with the work you do’ had me howling. I’m surprised my neighbours didn’t come and give my door a knock, questioning whether I was okay – such was the volume of my laughter throughout this one.

From the very first page, Road Trip pulled me into the story. It starts with drama, and things only escalate from that moment onwards. There is so much throughout this quick little read that sucks you in, so many details that will leave you desperate for more of the characters. I’m surprised so much was crammed into such a quick read – with all that happened it felt as though I should have read a much longer book than I did.

It wasn’t just the crazy events that I loved, I adored the characters too. There was so much fun to be had with both of them, with the chemistry between the two being amazing. I loved them both in completely different ways, loved the different things they brought to the table, and adored the way their story played out. The side characters were also great, making everyone in this book well worth the read.

Honestly, I adored this. I knew it was going to be a fun read, yet it turned out to be even more amazing than I’d anticipated.

If you’re looking for your next romcom read, then I would certainly recommend diving into Road Trip. Be warned, I take no responsibility for injuries incurred when you are all out belly laughing.

Two jobs lost, a small pocket of money and a road trip. What could possibly go wrong?

Katy’s split from her cheating boyfriend, lost her home, lost her job and her parents are moving away. It’s fair to say she’s down in her luck. After a dare Felix set up goes terribly wrong this pair of teachers need to attend a fair few interviews. On the road together is going to be fun.

Felix thinks Katy’s a big boring. She needs to live a little. As he gets to know her their luck is like a yo-yo of crazy events.

Can the pair find a job, find their next meal and maybe find love?

This is a rom-com set in England. It is over the top. It is ridiculous funny and it is a little naughty.

I won this audiobook in a competition. I enjoyed the crazy trip very much.

Road Trip is a really fun enemies to lovers story. Katy and Felix are two teachers low on money and out of a job. They decide to pool resources and road trip together to job interviews.
Katy had just discovered her boyfriend was cheating on her and doesn’t have a very high opinion of Felix and his playboy, ladies man reputation.
There are some really funny hijinks as the two compete for the same positions. I listened to this story on audiobook and the wonderful narration added to my enjoyment and entertainment!

This was just an okay read for me...

I just kinda expected more 'witty funny' moments rather than 'meh funny' from this author as I really loved her PNR books and humor incorporated within...

And yeah, I kinda didnt connect with the characters this time😕

To say I laughed a lot would be an understatement. This book was so funny my sides hurt and tears were rolling down my cheeks.

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

When I first began reading this beauty I had no idea how much I was going to love it, no idea how much I was going to laugh and no idea how much I would enjoy this.

Katy and Felix are something else! They’re not your typical couple in a book they’re so much more. Their banter is too funny and their shenanigans are “pee your pants” funny. They experience so much random things throughout their road trip that you just can’t help but laugh. They’ve quickly because two of my favourite characters.

Their storyline was so freaking captivating that I just couldn’t stop reading as soon as I started, I just wanted more and didn’t want it to end.

Laura Morgan and Andi M Long are quite amazing. It’s not often I read co-authored books but I’m super glad I read this one, definitely one I’d recommend.

This book is a romantic comedy. If you’re looking for a book to give you feels, this is the one for you. If you’re looking for a book that’ll have you laughing whilst having all the feels then definitely get stuck in to this one.

This is a pretty short audio book, coming in at around 4 hours long. I love road trip romance books. I love how two people can really come to know each other as they interact in close spaces for long periods of time where there really is nothing else to do but talk to one another. That's why I grabbed this story. As far as road trip books go, this one was pretty average, maybe even a bit below average. I think that a lot depends on how you feel about Katy and Felix. I had a hard time feeling much at all for them. They were nice enough, I guess, but not very memorable. I had really hard time with Katy constantly referring to Felix as a "man whore." So wrong on so many levels. First of all, she didn't really know him at all and was judging him based on what others had said. Secondly, she didn't take two seconds to think about how her words might be hurting Felix. Seriously, what if he went around calling her a "whore" all day long? Why is it okay because it is a guy? I'm not sure why he didn't freak out at her for her condescending judgments. I also found their antics to be totally juvenile. It was meant to be funny, but it fell flat. These are two professionals who are seeking out new jobs after a tremendously stupid prank/dare/whatever got out of hand and their students posted it on social media. For two people desperate to find new jobs, they sure weren't taking the process seriously. On top of all of that, the progression of the relationship seemed off. It didn't feel very authentic, so I wasn't really rooting for them to succeed. Felix does something in this story that is obviously going to cause problems in their new relationship. I knew it was going to come out. How could it not? But it showed up super late in the story, and there really wasn't enough time to realistically deal with the fall-out. Everything felt rushed.

The narration for this was pretty good. Victoria Fitzgerald does a great job with this story. Unfortunately, they chose to have her narrate Felix's POV as well, and she stunk at that. She barely changed her voice at all. The story would have been better served by having a man narrate those sections. Luckily, Felix's POV is limited, so it didn't harm most of the book. I'll give it a generous three stars. It was okay.

ARC given for honest review.
Well everyone, what can I say, except this book had me laughing from the beginning. Such a great duo Andi and Laura make when it comes to writing.
Once you read the blurb there is no turning back, you are simply hooked from that moment on until you finally put this book down.
Such a great book to read, this book is so funny, eventful and insightful as the characters soon learn things about each other they otherwise would never have known.
Felix and Katy work together and there is no secret that Katy knows Felix’s reputation through all the things she has heard on the rumour mill and although maybe a bit hesitant to go on this road trip with him, she knows it all makes sense if they are going to find a new place to work. Felix though needs her help after a disaster at the school they work at together.

Katy and Felix are colleagues; they are both teachers until they have been made redundant. They have never got along; they based their opinion of one another on the school rumours.
Out of necessity they decide to leave for a road trip together searching for a new school willing to hire them.
I can’t write more or I would give away everything that happens and the plot so you are just going to have to pick this book up for yourselves and give it a read. I promise you won’t regret it.
Andie and Laura I do hope you write more about these two people and just in general, you both have a great writing ethic towards each other and it shows how well you write together in this book.

Omigod, I bloody LOVED this, it was hilarious!!!

Road Trip, the first book from new writing duo Andie M.Long and Laura Barnard, started off with a bang quite literally and what a delight it was to read. I have read and loved books from both authors, respectively, so I knew I was in for a real treat when I heard they were teaming up to write together and they definitely didn't disappoint me.

It’s been a while since I’ve laughed like this at a book, I couldn't stop laughing from beginning to end. In fact I laughed so loud at times I'm sure my neighbour wondered what was going on. There are so many hilarious scenes that I can’t mention them all but the ones with the McFlurry and drunk Jenna and the bee are just a few of them. The authors lined those scenes up in succession like domino toppling, and they were executed perfectly.

The plot flowed so effortlessly and fast-paced that, before I knew it I'd reached the end. The banter and growing relationship between Katy and Felix was both funny and believable, I was rooting for them from the moment they met. I loved the way they bounced off each other and couldn't stop chuckling to myself over their antics.

With adorable main characters, a wonderful and hilarious supporting cast and a funny-as-hell plot Road Trip is a great summer read, charming and delightful. Perfect!!

I love Laura Barnard's books and I appreciate Andie M. Long's stories too so I jumped into this rom-com without a second thought.
Road Trip was an entertaining and hilarious read.

Katy and Felix are collegues, they are both teachers until they have been made redundant. They have never got along, they based their opinion of one another on the school rumors.
Out of necessity they decide to leave for a road trip together searching for a new school willing to hire them.
As you rightly assume this journey will be eventful and it will help our main characters to know each other better.
I hope to read more about them because I want to know their future.

Give it a go,you won't regret it!

Road Trip by Andie M. Long and Laura Barnard is a fun story and a perfect choice for your summer entertainment. Katy Cornish is a young teacher, good at her job but lacks in her personal life. She is always in competition with her twin sister Victoria. Victoria appears to have it all in Katy’s mind especially after Katy walks in on Victoria and Richard, Katy’s fiancé in bed.

Katy begs a fellow teacher, Felix Montague to be her temporary boyfriend. She needs to pick up her things from the apartment she shares with Richard. She needs a crutch that will show Victoria and Richard she isn’t hurting and their little trick didn’t destroy her. Felix, sensing a chance to have fun with the prim and proper Katy agrees to the request if Katy agrees to participate in some pranks with him.

Katy sticking to her part of the agreement puts these two teachers in a position that causes them both to get fired. The job market in their town is bleak so, to save money, they agree to travel to the interviews together which sets up a series of hilarious events that are fun for the reader while frustrating for the characters.

On first glance, Katy and Felix are complete opposites. Felix is more self-assured and outgoing. He knows who he is and is comfortable around others. Katy is more introverted and frightened about life. She feels inferior, a quality that is reinforced by her sister and parents. As the story moves forward, we learn that Felix isn’t always confident, and Katy has a backbone even if she doesn’t show it much.

The Road Trip is a fun adventure that brings out the best and the worst of the main characters. The worst is the crazy stunts they pull to sabotage the interviews for one or the other to have an advantage. Some of these stunts are laugh-out-loud funny, and some evoke a little giggle. The aftermath of some of the hijinks makes me sad because they do hurt the other person. It is a Road Trip of discovery about these two and a glimpse of their backstory.

The collaboration between the authors works well. I know Laura Barnard and enjoy her novels. Road Trip is my introduction to Andie M. Long and makes me curious to find more from her. What I love about reading British authors is learning more of their slang. The only downside for me is the abrupt ending. There are questions I still have or areas that I feel should be explained more. Regardless, this story is light, funny, and holds my interest from the start.

If you are looking for a steamy, rollicking road trip read, this is your book!

This book opens with a scene that might make you blush. Katy Cornish walks in on her fiancé in bed with her sister. From there, things just keep getting worse for Katy.

Katy thinks she’s playing it smart by asking fellow teacher, and gigolo, Felix Montague, to help her make her sister jealous. Somehow it all backfires and both Katy and Felix end up fired. Now with nowhere to live and no job, Katy must go on a road trip interviewing for jobs. Here’s the kicker: Felix suggests that they travel to the interviews together to save money. Thus begins a journey fully marred by hilarious mishaps.

The premise of this book is fun. And there are several laugh out loud moments, and some a little cringy. But I will warn you if crude talk and sex scenes offend you, then this may not be the book for you, nothing is held back here!! I personally felt that there could have been a little less sex and more depth and development into the characters. But, Road Trip is definitely a fun romp.

Thank you to @lauranabarnardauthor and @andieandangelbooks for this copy for review.

This is the funniest thing I've read all year. Road Trip is a hoot of a story, following two completely mismatched people on a journey across the country, as they both try to secure themselves a job. Like a modern-day Doris Day and Rock Hudson, at first Katy and Felix hate each other, but as circumstances force them closer than they'd ever want to be, they slowly thaw. If you've read these two authors before, you'll know what to expect - laughter, tears, and a whole lot of love.

I'm hard pressed to say which one of the authors is the most mental - as you can't tell who wrote what part I'm going to go with both.

Pick this up and prepare to leave reality at the door, whilst Andie and Laura take you on a crazy journey.

Silly, silly fun.

I listened on audiobook. This was a funny, quirky, “I can’t believe they did that” kind of book. Sometimes Katy went a bit overboard on her use of manwhore imo but overall I really enjoyed the story. And she isn’t the only one that had that little problem with the bee. Lol!

"Road Trip" revs its engine with its first line, a cheekily descriptive picture of how Katy’s world begins to come crashing down around her. With the “help” of Felix, her way-too-handsome colleague, what little security she had left crumbles to dust, sending the seemingly mismatched pair out together on a grand tour of Great Britain in search of new teaching positions.

Andie M. Long and Laura Barnard are puppet masters with wicked senses of humor. With each stop along the way and each new set of interviews, the authors concoct plots that bring out the worst in the hero and heroine. More often than not, and part of what drives the humor, one or the other of our road trippers will not escape with his or her dignity intact. It’s the vulnerability these situations raise that allows two former enemies to explore what life would be like if they could just stop fighting long enough to discover their true feelings for each other. Neither Katy nor Felix is a paragon of virtue. If they were, their trip together would not have been as fun. Nor would the book have been.

If you want a light-hearted, amusing, slightly over the top romcom adventure then this is the book for you. Felix and Katy head off on a road trip to find new jobs following a prank gone wrong. With mishaps, amazing coincidences, misunderstandings and adventures, will they succeed? A fun easy listen but not one to have on with the kids in the car, they travel the country together. Will they succeed, only time will tell.

I have read both authors separately but together, oh how I love them. They need to collaborate more!

This book had me turning the pages, completely amused with the main characters, Felix and Katy's antics. For teachers they were always playing pranks on each other. You would have thought after the prank that got them both fired, they would have stopped with the pranks......but no!

Written from the dual POV this story was entertaining, filled with wit, humour, scorching sizzling tension.

Having both lost their jobs and having limited money they embark on a journey across the country to go to job interviews. I will be honest I would certainly not employ them as a teacher with their antics.

Only criticism is that I feel like the book just ended suddenly but I think this is more me and my evil karma nature wanting Katy to get her HEA and lord it over her twin sister Victoria. That girl needed a seriously smack down for her spoiled bad behaviour.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for another collaboration from these two brilliant writers.

Katy doesn’t think things could be any worse. After all, she’s just walked in on her fiancée (aptly named Dick) in a compromising position with her non-identical twin sister Victoria. Cue the Dick and Vic jokes!

So Katy convinces Felix Montague, her most despised colleague, to be her faux boyfriend so she doesn’t appear quite so devastated. Unfortunately things do get worse for Katy and she and Felix find themselves out of work and vying for the same teaching positions. To save money going to the same interviews across the countryside they decide to take a road trip. What else could go wrong?

Thanks to @lolaandpuki who gave me the heads up when this one was free on Amazon in September. It’s a fun, light-hearted read with steam from the first page (and quite a bit of it) and a few laughs (or cringes depending on your perspective) as well. If you’re shy of steam and adult conversation you’ll need to look away though! This one gets pretty hot/cringey.

I read this book in one sitting one weekend. This was a first for me of Laura Barnard and Andie M Long’s work. All in all a good rom com to lighten to the mood.

'You said you want to do something reckless.I want to dare you,Miss Bloody Goody-two-shoes,to do something naughty, something out of this comfort zone you say you're in'~(Felix)

When these two Author's announced a collaboration,I expected the result to be a hilarious tale, and I was not wrong!
This story, all be it utterly crazy in terms of some of the plot details, was a fairly quick read, that had me laughing out loud right from the start,as the blurb gives enough detail to hook you in,it is told from mainly Katy's POV with some from Felix's along the way.
I'll not say much more in terms of all that happens...as you should really read it for yourselves, the only thing is that I felt the ending a bit rushed and wanted more-(hope it's not the last of these character's..no pressure Ladies)
All in all a fun, light easy read, that makes you LOL throughout.

This book is a blast, but if you're looking for a sensible run of the mill romance this isn't it!

This book has two slightly crazy characters, Katy and Felix. They work in the same school but don't really know one another. They start the beginning of a 'friendship' when they're put in a situation neither expected. The fun and games, and accidents they have on their road trip made me giggle. I could have highlighted a funny line on almost every page but wanted to keep reading.

It's all based in good old blighty - or I could say the UK. Some of the situations are a little silly, but who cares its funny. I have to admit I found the festival very amusing and the aftermath enjoyable.

Pick this up if you like a romcom.

This book started with a bang.
.
Literally.
.
When Katy walks in her apartment to find her fiance Dick (accurate) in bed with her non-identical twin sister Vic she finds herself single and homeless. Things go from bad to worse when she enlists her hot co-worker with a bad reputation to get revenge on her sister and before she knows it she is single, homeless, unemployed and trapped in a car on the job interview road trip from hell with Felix, her partner in crime and direct competition.
.
.
This story was completely absurd and kept me laughing the whole time! There were some shocking/scandalous moments as well as moments of good clean fun that will keep you entertained from cover to cover. But if you're listening to it on audio, maybe wear headphones or keep the windows rolled up!

This book is guaranteed to have you chuckling away many times throughout.
The rivalry and romance between Katy and Felix had me hooked.
I’m a big fan of books set in the US, but it was refreshing to read a book set in this country and wrote by two ladies from here aswell.
Having read books by both of these authors before I was sure I’d be able to pick out bits wrote by each of them but I had no clue, which means they are just both a crazy as each other!!
If you’re after a great read this summer then this should be added to your list!

3.5 ⭐️ (would have been 4, but the lack of epilogue pulled it down a bit)

You know a book is great when it’s written by two authors and you have no idea who wrote what add in the laugh out loud or should I say snort out loud moments and you get a perfect rom-com.
It’s difficult to write a review that’s not full of spoilers so I’m not going to give any of the plot away and I’m just going to say if you love romance and humour please make sure you one click this very funny book. I was giggling and laughing from the start to the end of Road Trip and what can I say about “Beware if bees and bath sponges” guess you need to read the book yourself to find out what that’s all about.........
I’m looking forward to more from these two authors.

Loved this rom com book by Andie M Long and Laura Barnard, one a previous author and one a new experience for me. A typical laugh out comical story with some fun twists and turns thrown in along the way.

Katy and Felix are teachers who work together who become unexpectedly unemployed together and need to find new positions - what better way for two opposites to do so then to go on a road trip.

With lots of eventful moments they soon get to discover each other well but will this help them reach their goals or drive each other away from them? What is in store for the pair of them?

Fantastic read and standalone but would be lovely to read more about them in the future.

Felix and Katy are an absolute riot.
Their crazy trip is all kinds of over-the-top shenanigans. Hilarious and ridiculous. From the people they meet, to the crazy stuff they do... this book kept me smiling and laughing all the way to the very end.
It’s a short but (mostly) lighthearted read that reminds you that not everything you hear is true. And sometimes, the person you thought you -kind of- knew is completely different from your first impressions.

Audio review:
Ha! This book had me laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of some of the antics they got up to. It was fun, flirty and so cute.
Although Victoria didn't really do "male" and "female" voices, it was very enjoyable.

Katy and Felix road trip isn’t exactly what she wants she knows his repetition and she only goes along with it as it makes sense. Felix knows what Katy thinks of him he knows what she calls him but after the disaster of what happened at the school they both worked for he needs her help. This is a hilarious beautifully written book that will have you giggling and loving it not wanting to put it down. I blooming loved this book so much and look forward to reading so much from both these authors either together or on their own. Highly recommend as a must read.

Road Trip a five-star read that is worth tripping for by Andie M Long and Laura Barnard. I am a huge fan of Andie M Long but have yet to read Laura Barnard yet and this was a great way to get my teeth into her writing, what a hilarious and honest read. Katy and Felix are an amazing couple of individuals but when one practical joke ruins everything for them, will being stuck together on a road trip ruin them or make them realise what’s really important in life. I loved this book, I’m gutted it’s a stand alone as I would love to hear more about these characters.
