This was truly an exciting read where H/h, Blake and Mila finally got there happily ever after even though many were against them namely her jealous-hearted sister, Lido. I would love to read a story from Lido's POV provided she changes...

Blake finally got his girl!

The things Mila and Blake went through either from work or family would drive normal people crazy. They both survived depressing events in their young lives to become successful adults. Mila still had a difficult time in letting events from their family's leaving Somalia during the war, which led her to opening her resource center. Blake was lucky enough to have Serenity to care for him when his mother could not and a caring police officer to mentor him. Blake deeply loved Mila and would do anything for her, including murder.

As much as Blake loved Mila, she was still hesitant in saying yes to his many proposals. She had to work through her refusal of an arranged marriage and her losing her best friend/ fiance Warren. She wanted to marry Blake but was afraid of what could happen during an engagement. She just wanted to get married now with no waiting. It was not until her attack that really brought it home for her, life is short and uncertain. She really got on my nerves with all of her refusals.

Who really irked me was Mila's sister Lido. With a sister like her, who needs enemies. Mila was too forgiving and kind hearted. I would have beat her azz long before she did. I'm just glad that Mila and Blake finally get their HEA!

DNF. I was disappointed in this book. The first half was the first book. The second half became boring and I skipped most of it. I actually gave up at 90% of the book. I know that I was almost there, but I couldn't anymore.

Wonderful end

It had been awhile since I read the first book ski I was happy that it was included and I read it again. The wedding was pretty intense and had a lot of story being told. I would definitely recommend both of these books.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I loved it her sister is selfish and jealous. I know we love our family but sometime we have to love them from a distance.

This book was all about Blake and Mila's wedding. I liked that Blake would go to any length to keep Mila happy. One thing i wasn't sure about was whether their talk on the beach actually helped Mila with her slight PTSD... (I would call it).. Or if she still needed therapy. Her sister Lido is a total bish.. she's the perfect example of how the ones who we love the most can hurt us the most. But the joke is on Lido now because after years or putting up with her antics Mila is finally tired of being stepped upon. The ending of the book felt as if the author wanted to say more but it was okay so my rating for this book really is 4.5 stars. Nevertheless thos was a really nice book that i finally finished reading

Not the best...

Very disappointed in this one. The writing was sloppy and disjointed, the characters were really unlikable and the plot just sucked. The intimate scenes were trash. I've read other books by this author and loved them. This one is a no from me.

WOW... This was so goooood

I took a little while to get this book because I remember the first one so much and truthfully I could not wait to get the 2nd one and boy am I confused... I do not know which one is better. I am leaning more towards the 2nd one because alpha + badass + alpha in love + billionaire = a sucker for an excellent read.
I am a true romantic at heart, a sucker for the more love showing is better to a fairytale wedding that this book deserve more than a 5, I would go for a 10 or more if that is possible.
So where can I start: man Yasmin was probably the biggest surprise in this book, man was she the bomb. I had preferred Mila in the first book, while in this one she was a little bit too "childish" for Blake. And then Blake, man oh man, did he got better... He was the bomb before, but in this book he became a "bombastic" he was the top alpha dog.... That scene in the Thai restaurant could give Fifty Shades of Grey a run for its money. As matter of fact, I think the whole book, could. If I was a producer I would definitely turn this into a movie.
Enough said, besides those characters that I mentioned, Veronica really was a sweetheart who did not deserve Lido and of course Lido was a 360 degree turn to the wicked witch of the west...
Now, possibly the only problem in this was the little confusion when Mila was in Ethiopa and how she could open those "homes", specially she had several of them (at least 3) were opened yet only the Los Angeles was being talked upon??? Confusion much. Then the missed opportunity to fully understand the concept of this non profit home was not developed at all, which was an opportunity to educate a lot of us. Finally the confusion of on one hand Mila who did not want to spend soooo much money with no care or worries in this world, yet you have her on the same hand and same day carelessly spending or showing the abundance of money that they have... But all these a livable when you have such a great book from one of the best author ever..
So MS. Avant, WOW! After such strong story, I usually take a couple of hours before I can pick up another story, but this time it will take me a full day to reset, it was that good...

Blake...Oh Blake!

Blake is THE man. He loves hard and true, and hasn’t forgotten his roots or family. He’s “bad” only when he has to be to protect what’s his...Mila. He goes to the end of the earth for this woman, and you can’t hate on her ladies. Mila is alright with me...especially with that last face-to-face with Lido. Slam dunk on that one, Ms. Avant! I really loved this story...couldn’t put it down :). I didn't give 5 stars because of some errors...most towards the end. I had to re-read sentences a few times to understand them due to the wrong word or name being used. I wished there was a 4.5 or 4.9 star rating, though, because this really is a great story!
I do wonder if there’s a GM 3 lurking out there...with Mila wedding “gift” to Blake and all. Even if there isn’t a book 3, this one was unconditional love, passion, trust, genuine marriage, and real magic!

Passion above the norm, love with all their beings, friendship to last lifetimes, anger kept for years and finding the love that dreams are made of is the gist of part two between Mila and Blake. Mila finally commits to the desire Blake attempted to give Mila in book 1. This exposes Mila as you never saw in her. Her sister Lido is exposed as a true pyscho but in the end,she gets what she has been begging for. Yasmin the oldest sister steps up for her sister as only and older sister can.
Blake has some very special family but I am in love with his boys Jace and Ephraim.
Mila faces a near disaster of epic proportions and Blake finally gets her to relieve herself of long buried emotions and issues
I cried , laughed , cheered and held my breath at various points in this sequel.
Ms. Avant thank you for sharing with your readers this story of love...

"The Good Mistress II: The Wedding: A BWWM Billionaire Romance by Amarie Avant

My Thoughts...

The Good Mistress II was a good read! One definitely couldn't ask for a more sincere hero as we got from Blake. He was one that would do anything to get Mila to marry him. From the read one could see why Mila had a reason for her self doubt about wanting to make the correct decision about marrying Blake. With all of the twist and turns in this story especially from that crazy Todd and evil sister Lido finally we get a fantastic ending!

Heartwrenching and Beautiful

I read book one of this series, But nothing could prepare me for this conclusion. It was simply beautifully written. The love that Blake has for his Goddess Mila is beautiful to be behold. The ups and downs that come there way doesn't stop him from trying with everything in him to make her happy. Love the different ways he tried to get him to marry him, and I felt her emotions when that Psycho Todd got a hold of her p, But Blake came to the rescue.. Exceptionally Emotional written story that I fell In love with since I read the First book. Now I really want you read about her sister Lido.

In exchange for an honest review of "The Good Mistress ll," I received an ARC. In preparation for the ARC, I reread "The Good Mistress." Blake, again, was an over the top alpha, his love for Mila crossed the border of obsessive. Mila was her usual sweet self until she took a knife to Lido prior to giving her THE BEATDOWN (YEAH!!!) Lido deserved and should have gotten when they were children. Yasmin served no useful purpose as a sister, she could have been edited out. I was expecting Diane to show up to attempt to permanently take Mila out of the game, but it was Todd! Who knew? All in all, though the book was enjoyable, it was not as enjoyable as the first.

Great Read

I enjoyed both books! Now some scenes in the first book I didn't care for but as you got to the end a lot of it came together and made sense. The Wedding was great and even though I hated her sister was so psychotic we know that there are family members like that. The sex scenes were pretty good and that always makes up for the parts you didn't care for.

You won't regret Reading the Wedding it's an awesome ending to a controversial story. It would be nice if she gives Blake's 2 friends their own books.

Sooo GOOD!

I am a big fan of A.A, and she never disappoints me with whatever she’s writing. I went from book 1 right into book 2 without taking a break because this was an amazing series. I loved the ALPHA man in Blake, he didn’t play when it came to his woman. I was enthralled, entertained, enthused, enamored. I was in the moment with them, we won’t talk about the bedroom scenes, even with the family drama and there was plenty of it. It was here for it all, they got their HEA and that’s what I loved the most.

Fantastic Read

The Good Mistress II was a gut wrenching fabulous read! I can relate to all the convoluted emotions that you can have with being in love and dealing with family dysfunction. Absolutely blown away by the rock solid love that Blake had for Mila! And I can relate to Mila's self doubt about making the right decision in marrying Blake. So once again I'm saying thank you Amarie a fantastic read!

This did not diappoint

Loved how the story starts out grabbing you in.Even through there is some time between the two books the story flow seamlessly into part two.You can't help but hope for that endless love that both have for each other would make it to the end of the story. Like how you showed how a man is suppose to love his woman. Not just so he can shower her with anything, but that she completes his soul, she became his reason for becoming a better man.

Another Great Read from Ms. Avant. This book had you going the several different emotions. Blake was just to hot for his own good. I love that he loved Mila with everything in him. Mila was strong but only weak put up when it came to her crazy sister. This book is a must read!! Warning read only if you have a few days off because you will lose a few hours of sleep by wanting to finish this book. Lol. Enjoy!!

The Good Mistress 'll :The Wedding

If the two books this book has more to offer than great sex scenes. This book had a great story line ,the characters were so real it was more than a story about a interracial couple. The book was about true love which invoked the good and the bad. It told about how sometimes you have to chose your family. This is a definite must read. Books 1 &2 were my first books that I read by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Not for me...

I could not read both parts in their entirety. So far in this author's books I find the jump to sex too quick...The sex scenes too numerous and too raunchy. And the Heroines esp come across as stereotypical caricatures.
(Well not so much with Avery in Make Me Stay)
But overall I found nothing remotely romantic or interesting about these characters. Cheating, womanizing, lewdness...ugh...😣
Yuck....Delete & keep it moving!

Very Romantic

This was a very romantic book. For whatever reason, culturally or because I don't have siblings, I could not really enjoy Mila. I loved the Alpha in Blake though. I felt that Mila allowed herself to breaker over. I couldn't believe how she always demoted to her sisters. Speaking of which, Lido was a mess and Mila just kept on enabling her. Yes became the common sense one as the book went on.
All in all it is worth the read.

Pushing Towards A Good End

Sometimes you just must realize that some family are just not your friend! This was a painful lesson that Mila had to realize about one of her sisters. If not for the love and determination of Blake to give Mila as much happiness as possible, this truth would still be unrealized.

I LOVE HOW BLAKE LOVES MILA!! Love it!! Loving, supportive, passionate, determined, resourceful, and wealthy ... A perfect description of Blake. I fully enjoyed this book!!

they were real

There was a lot to unpack with Blake and Mila. Trauma, family baggage, traditions and expectations. Through all of those Blake loved her. In or out of his comfort zone, everything he did, he did with Mila in mind. He knew to treasure her above all and to be intune with what she needed because what he needed was her. Deep, and dramatic this scorching hot couple will take you all around every emotion there is

Blake and Mila

Who needs enemies when you got sisters...lol! Loved to see how Blake fought for his true love, Mila was no easy feat. Glad to see her realize that she is worth all the love that he had to give. On a serious note. Mental illness is no joke and the black community needs more awareness and embrace that it is real.

An absolute 5-Star page turner. I wish book 2 had been written sooner , however I like that Book 1 was included and put in the beginning. Blake and Mila's HEA was HARD fought. A lesson that Mila learned eventually was that family is not always those that are blood related and that all is not always as it seems. I highly recommend every book that Amarie Avant has written especially this one
