After watching Sailor Moon anime, she started drawing at the age of 7.

Influences when she was young: CLAMP (Card Card Captor Sakura, X), AMANO Kozue (Aira, Aqua), WATASE Yuu (Fushigi Yugi), SUGISAKI Yukiru (1001 Knights).

Got into the yuri genre through "Pretty Cure" (especially the chapter 8).

Strength: drawing close-up facial expressions and hair arrangement.

Weakness: drawing small pictures.

Among the sources used as inspiration for her work: watching movies, reading manga, doujinshi, erotica artwork targeted for male audience (like NARUKO Hanaharu's manga).

This is the sweetest thing i've ever read <3!!! They are so lost and confused, trying to figure out this thing called love and life (and starting to really get it), especially as an F/F couple where not everyone will approve. Love that they aren't the only queer couple in this world too and they can be shown to be happy and in love.
I love their character development and reactions, seeing more of how they are thinking and trying. We get more insight into Mei as well.

And Mei has thought about all this and gets it. They have a conversation and it's amazing! Discussing coming out to people and others not accepting them because they are women and step-sisters. But they just have to be true to themselves and do them.

I am in love!

There was nothing sexual here just kissing and holding hands. AND IT WAS AWESOME! (I like the steamy stuff, but this volume was filled with sweetness and character development and <3)

At some point i'll need to re-read this entire series and since I see there are up to 26 volumes on here, even though 6 just came out, I hope to re-read this again and again as the series grows!

yuzu and mei are dating now

and this volume was a gIFT

because SPECIFICALLY we get a lot more insight into what Mei is thinking and how she's taking all of this

i will DIE for her i swear to god

they have a conversation and it is a gOOD

because I'm so sick of yuzu being like "i need to be your big sister okay but i also kinda wanna bang you these two things are not contradictory at all" in her own little world, but this volume she finally comes out of her own head and realizes what the world is outside of this all-girls school bubble. Her boss at her part-time job assumes she's dating a boy. Creepy loli girl shoots down Yuzu's romantic ideas because "if yuzu wants to pretend she's an adult she needs to start acting like it" (paraphrased.) Yuzu's old friends are super judgmental and lowkey homophobic.

(sidenote: seeing other queer couples on the street wow wow wow good job citrus you did a good even if it was a plot device like we have now proven that queer couples exist in this world and can be good and happy and in love.)

Mei just gets all of it. She does. She's thought about this. and like it's kind of weird that this is one of the first volumes in this whole ff series that they actually discuss... coming out to people? others not accepting them, because they're women and they're also stepsisters???

I just. I'm dying. I love this.

ALSO THIS IS A REALLY LOW BAR BUT HEY THERE WASN'T ANY SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THIS VOLUME THAT'S PRETTY COOL.

Another okayish chapter.

I feel like these two don't really move at a normal pace. They confirm they like each other, even maybe love each other, and they've kissed a few times. However, it's like they hardly have regular conversations and mostly just flirt with the idea of being a couple. Still, the art is good, and the girls are cute, so there's that atleast.

Yine Mei ve Yuzu'nun ilişki gelişimine odaklanmış bir ciltti.

İlk randevularına çıkabilirler sonunda. Yuzu'nun sürekli telaş yapması çok tatlıydı. Ama Mei'nin sakinliği beni öldürecek artık. Hiçbir şey belli etmeden panik haline geçiyor ve Yuzu Mei'nin düşüncelerini çoğu zaman göremiyor. Artık bu duruma bir çekidüzen vermeliler.

Harumi ve ablasının da arasını düzeltmesi iyi oldu, ne kadar gizli isyankar olsa da Harumi de mutlu olmayı hak ediyor.

Yuzu'nun homofobi ile karşılaşması hoş değildi ama illaki hikayenin bir noktasında bu durum yaşanacaktı. Mei'nin durumu düzeltme şekli harikaydı ama, çok sevdim.

İşler çok iyi ilerliyor şu an için ve son dört cilt kaldı. Mutsuz bir son olacağını zannetmiyorum ama umarım gereksiz entrikalara girilmez ve çizimler kötüleşmez.

Now, when the obnoxious heroines forced into the story only to delay the plot vanished, the story started to move forward. And I started to like again this series. Because until now it was like: Omg, I like her. She likes me. We want to be happy. And then some kind of bitch comes and says No.

Now Yuzu and Mei are dating. "Officialy". And I totally love it. I also love how we are starting to take a little deeper turn. (Not really deep, but I feel the writer don't have much experience with crafting the story.) Yuzu is finally realizing, there will be people who will think they are gross. That some people think, this is not normal. I think Mei will be bold enough to and won't care about others, but Yuzu is different. I wonder if they will always keep their relationship as secret or we are to be expecting some "Oh shit, they saw us." moments. I know this isn't much, but we have to start somewhere, right?

I liked the art of this manga from the start, but because of theme and really naive and weak plot I was so saddened by it. It has big potential and they ruined it. I soooo wanted to like this manga, this has become sort of my guilty pleasure. :D Now, they are taking this all back.

I already know what will happen next, as I am following this online. And the seventh volume is on the way. ♥

Sexto tomo ya de las desventuras de Mei y Yuzu. Esta vez, por fin, tienen su primera cita... aunque aparecen las antiguas amigas de Yuzu para complicar la situación de nuevo y poner a prueba la relación.

Sí, es un poco más de lo mismo, pero me tiene bastante enganchada la serie.

Diría que me he quedado sin palabras pero realmente lo que pasa es que tengo tanto qué decir que no sé como hacerlo. Son tantas emociones que me provocó éste tomo que ni sé cómo empezar.

En fin, retomando el beso anterior después de tanta espera por fin ha sucedido y deciden pararlo en la mejor parte porque había toque de queda en la escuela y no podían permanecer ahí. Sin embargo, a causa de ello nuestra querida y tierna Yuzu ahora tiene pensamientos impuros con Mei, y no sólo eso sino que también se le hace imposible no imaginarse en situaciones candentes con ella, debido a su aumento de temperatura Yuzu ha creado una libreta con los pasos exactos para lograr la felicidad con Mei, pero para su mala o buena suerte Mei lee dicha libreta y se propone seguir al pie de la letra los pasos escritos para una cita perfecta.
Todo esto se ve muy tierno porque realmente lo es, Mei se ha tomado muy en serio el compromiso de seguir las instrucciones de la libreta y no piensa fallar, esto en un principio parece muy romántico, peeero la situación es que entre más pase el tiempo nuestra querida y controladora Mei se enfocará más en la libreta que en Yuzu provocando que tengan una diferencia a la hora de tener la ansiada cita. Y justo cuando parece que se ha terminado la cita Yuzu le recuerda a Mei el paso más importante que conlleva un abrazo tan bello que demuestra lo mucho que ambas se gustan y se quieren.

Una vez superada la primera cita Yuzu desea demostrar todavía más su afecto por Mei y consigue un trabajo para dedicarle un obsequio digno de su relación. Todo bien hasta que Yuzu se reencuentra con amigas de su antigua escuela y para colmo el reencuentro le hace frente con un golpe duro de la realidad tan triste que se vive gracias a la crítica de la sociedad y es que sus "amigas" se mostraron disgustadas por otra pareja de chicas provocando que Yuzu deseara terminar todo lo relacionado al amor con tal de evitarle un sufrimiento o humillación a Mei. Afortunadamente Mei se ha mostrado a lo largo de todo el volumen de una forma tan diferente a su actuar que la caracterizaba en capítulos anteriores y ahora está dispuesta a enfrentar los sentimientos con tal de hacer que la relación funcione, gracias a eso se entera de la nueva inseguridad de Yuzu causada por una mala experiencia. Contrario a lo que se podría pensar (Mei nos demuestra que es mucho más madura de lo que aparenta) a ella le importa poco lo que la sociedad piense de ella y su relación y le hace ver a Yuzu que lo indispensable es que ambas sepan lo que sienten y con eso basta.
Así que he ahí la relación que en un principio no era de lo más sana y pacífica, se está volviendo y ha evolucionado en algo mucho mejor para ambas.

Ni hablé de personajes secundarios porque a diferencia de tomos anteriores, en esta ocasión se presentó una trama centrada en nuestras protagonistas y tanto Himeko, Harumin o Matsuri tuvieron una escasa aparición.

Si lo vemos desde mi perspectiva yo estoy enamorada de Mei, siempre lo he estado pero reconozco que su falta de afecto paternal la guiaba más a una relación poco sana y de baja comunicación ya que ella jamás exteriorizaba sus sentimientos. Sin embargo, ahora que está totalmente enamorada de Yuzu se ha visto evolucionar a su personaje en gran medida puesto que ahora ella se convierte en el medio de comunicación más grande para que Yuzu diga lo que realmente siente.
Y por supuesto que esto se ve reflejado en el tipo de relación que ahora ellas tienen.

I've been currently reading different "Yuri" titles lately and although this is a series I do enjoy I wouldn't rank it in my "Top 3". That being said...this volume's story really elevated and got REALLY GOOD!!!

This is a volume that has two great stories. The first involves Yuzu and Mei going out on a date. Yuzu has created this adorable little notebook/journal of sorts dedicated to building a "happily ever after romance" with Mei but when Mei finds it!!! She decides that the two of them will go out using Yuzu's "perfect date" template. It makes for a very adorable story and a date template is just something a "bubbly personality" type like Yuzu would do. While the first story is very funny, the second one is absolutely heartbreaking! Yuzu wants to buy Mei a gift and has taken up a part-time job at a Cafe in the area she use to live. Here's where I FELT the story took a turn from being an enjoyable fluffy yuri story to an impactful yuri story. After finally earning enough cash to buy the gift Yuzu runs into her 2 friends seen WAY BACK at the beginning of volume 1 when we were first introduced to Yuzu as a main character. When we were first Yuzu she was a boy crazy bubbly teen girl. Yuzu works up enough courage and is actually EXCITED to show her old friends a picture of Mei....until....her friends notice a lesbian couple across the street and behave very homophobic towards the couple and YUZU STICKS UP FOR THEM!!! I was so proud of Yuzu and seeing Yuzu crushed by her "friends' " reaction was devastating, but as someone who identifies as queer I've been in that same situation sadly quite a few times in my own life. That situation and school pressures lead to a breakdown and the usually reserved Mei shows great wisdom explaining to Yuzu how they will face up to the problems their relationship will bring. It's a wonderful scene that led to many tears down my own cheeks. Mei's reaction to the gift to was...amazing! Volume 6 is probably the finest in the series to date. This has led me to being VERY excited to continue on into Volume 7!!!

I think this volume is by far the best; when I say the best, I meant up to this volume in this series. I haven’t read the rest of the series yet.

The weird contradiction/fetish between yuzu needing to be a good older sister (step-sister anyways) and lover remains. But at least, there were much more things I could relate to in this volume. It’s such a step up from the previous volumes in terms of realism. It even touches up on homophobia, like wow - I was half expecting these girls were just gonna come out and everyone in the world was going to accept it, no questions asked. Instead, this volume did SUCH a good job making yuzu realize there’s so much more to it than her own little world of puppy love. Girl had a wake-up call. It was refreshing and seriously, a pleasant surprise. Up till now, it was trashy guilt reading. THIS volume though was very intriguing.

And Mei.. oh Mei. Lol. She’s figuring out her feelings for Yuzu, and this volume is FINALLY touching on it. I’m recalling the previous volumes, and I can’t remember anything where it’s communicated to the audience clearly on why she wants to be with Yuzu. It was just a bunch of huffing in her sensitive ears and she gets turned on… it really was some trashy guilty pleasure reading stuff. In this one, she says things along the lines of, “It’s not enough!” And I was like, whoa, don’t need to shout it, but finally girl. Lol. And so many other little things… It also cracked me up when she even turned down sex bcs she said it looked like too much work since she was tired! Lmao, too real. Cuz, you know… uhm.. sex btwn two women can take quiiite a long time… haha~

I look forward to the rest. I actually already read through it once a few years ago, but I don’t rmbr anything from it. And I haven’t read Citrus+, so I’m looking forward to that.

Yuzu chiede a Mei di fare un primo appuntamento ufficiale. Le due così vanno al cinema e poi a mangiare in un locale. Mei segue alla lettera un quaderno di istruzioni scritto da Yuzu.
Yuzu si infastidisce perché Mei non si comporta in maniera spontanea ma è continuamente fissata sul quaderno. Alla fine Yuzu butta il quaderno e le due si abbracciano dolcemente.

Yuzu vuole comprare un anello a Mei. Yuzu dice a Mei che è andata a nella sua città natale, quando in realtà sta lavorando part-time per avere i soldi necessari. Matsuri avverte Yuzu sul rimanere comunque con i piedi per terra, di non correre troppo con i sentimenti. Yuzu si fa prendere dalle insicurezze pure quando parla con delle amiche del posto e quando vede Mei ha una crisi.
Yuzu supera un esame e va in biblioteca dove incontra Mei.
Mei rimette a fuoco i suoi sentimenti e i dubbi e la paura di Yuzu spariscono di conseguenza. Tornate a casa Yuzu dà finalmente l'anello a Mei.

Il modo di amare di Mei continua ad essere fraintendibile, a volte freddo e distaccato, e per Yuzu si fa prendere da incertezze o come nel secondo caso da delle impulsività. Le due trovano sempre dei punti d'incontro?

this has been my favorite so far, so like actually 3.75, its just hard for me to officially rank it higher than 3 stars so whatever. this one was so cutie patootie. lowkey the first time we've really ever seen Mei flustered/out of her element when following Yuzu's date guide. she always acts like she is in charge and knows what to do so i liked being able to see her off guard. also Mei usually gets pretty mad when Yuzu strays outside the lines but shes def become more understanding and caring about it. I also really like how Mei approached the homophobia plotline. I liked seeing her protect Yuzu instead of it being the other way around, and also being able to see Yuzu not be so confident in herself and have some self doubt. "There is no 'right' answer. All we can do is what we are doing." lowkey such good advice she killed that. also the little hidden plotline of Mei trying to eat spicy foods because Yuzu like spicy, so sweetie.

This is my favorite volume in the series so far!!! My heart. My feels! They're so stinkin cute in this one. The "date" was beyond awkward adorable with Mei trying to go 'by the book'. XD We also get a little more of a glimpse of Mei's feelings of everything. "I'm lost without that notebook!" That one line says a lot, in my opinion. They're both lost in how to go about this new love, this hope of finally finding it and not wanting to lose it. Also, I really felt for Yuzu when she was with her friends and what they said when they spotted two girls across the way in an embrace. But omg... the ending of this one!! T_T *tears of joy* I'm still rolling in my feels.

So when the nonsense of others trying to get in the middle of Mei and Yuzu's relationship is left behind. The story is really enjoyable and the plot moves along. Though Yuzu did realize that others may have issue with them dating besides them being stepsisters. Which I am a little surprised by since lesbians were falling outta the sky in the other 5 volumes. I thought the world this series was in was one of those worlds that no one cared about same sex relationships. But the author seems to love throwing hurdles in these girls way. But this hurdle is a truly legitimate one, so I'm not too bothered by seeing how the girls navigate this one.

Este tomo ha sido muy cuqui y Mei está hermosísimaaaa.
El dibujo es genial, la distribución de los paneles también, ha mejorado en transmitir los sentimientos de los personajes, Yuzu sigue siendo un personajazo... El manga en sí tiene algunos puntos de calidad geniales. De hecho, parece que la historia está cogiendo algunos puntos más realistas como el reflejar la homofobia de algunas personas. Sin embargo, los fallos de base son muy grandes. Si no fuese por ello, sería un gran manga.
Ahora que me he terminado todos los tomos que tengo en físico, lo seguiré por digital (pues, después de reflexionarlo, he decidido no apoyar económicamente esta obra).

Otro de mis favoritos.

Yuzu tiene muchos miedos respecto a la relación que lleva con Mei, lo que la hace sentir indefensa y que está "corriendo aturdida" constantemente. Pero, al final de todo, consigue recuperarse gracias a que Mei no responde a los dichos de otras personas, y la ayuda con ello.

Ver a mi pequeña Yuzu llorar me dolió muchísimo, porque sé lo que sintió en ese momento, en algún punto uno llega a sentirse igual cuando se plantea lo que es el amor hacia la otra persona realmente.

Muchas personas podrían decir que ella es una "llorona" o que "actúa cómo una niña", pero yo considero que el amor que siente es real y puro.

Amazing series!

This is my first time reading a yuri manga and I absolutely am enjoying it. The writing is amazing. I love the sense of realism in it too with the final scene of her old friends making her feel bad. There’s people like that in this world but we can’t get wrapped up in the people who tear us down but those who support and do right by us. And the character development of Yuzu’s childhood friend is really good too! I’m addicted to this story and could reread the manga again!

Faz bastante tempo que li os cinco primeiros volumes de Citrus, então não lembrava exatamente onde a história tinha parado, mas foi fácil me reconectar às personagens. Parece que não aconteceu tanta coisa assim nesse volume, mas gostei do encontro delas e achei interessante ser mostrado um caso de homofobia e como a Yuzu reagiu a isso.
Gostei bastante do volume, tô curiosa pra saber como as coisas vão prosseguir a partir daqui - principalmente agora que a Yuzu deu alianças pra Mei e ela aceitou, o que aliás: fofíssimas!!!

Realmente no entiendo a la autora. No sé si desarrolla tan poco a Mei para hacerla ''interesante'' o porque no sabe cómo diferenciarla de Yuzu, pero es insoportable. Hasta la hace parecer con poca capacidad de adaptación.
Me pareció bastante lindo que Yuzu tuviera un cuaderno donde planear un día perfecto con Mei, pero las acciones de esta última no se corresponden con lo que quiere hacer, no se le entiende.
Creo que es de los peores personajes que he leído.
Para peor, se sigue metiendo en la relación la amiga de la infancia de Yuzu, otra insoportable más.

Really good volume! My heart broke when Yuzu witnessed her friends’ homophobia, but it swelled up seeing Mei embrace Yuzu’s feelings. Rereading this volume, I get Matsuri’s perspective on Yuzu’s gift for Mei. I still can’t stand her, but I at least get what she was saying and why she was saying it. And again, no new love interest! Two volumes in a row, no less! Anyway, good volume, felt all the feels, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Si bien hay un cierto desarrollo personal, este tomo se me hizo más de transición. Mei y Yuzu avanzan un poco más en su relación, pero de a ratos me encontraba pensando “Yuzu, ¿otra vez dándole vueltas a lo mismo?”. Se me hizo un poco repetitivo a comparación de los otros, que introducían algún factor nuevo. Acá la única sorpresa fue el torbellino que desató un encuentro inesperado, pero más allá de eso… meh.

Seriously at this point I'm starting to hate a little bit Mei, she dosen't deserve the cutie of Yuzu.
Yuzu tries to do things and to make their relationship better, she's the glue, you know.
Mei doesn't care at all about Yuzu's feelings, she rarely starts a conversation or thinks about a plan to do together as a couple.
I hope Mei shows Yuzu more respect and love (even if it's in her way) to Yuzu in next volume.

A cute story this one, with the perfect first date and all. There are also some real life dilemmas, like how Yuzu finally realizes that not everyone will approve of her relationship, just because of them both being girls. Art is as always super cute.
