Talitha wanted one to meet X O s Chansol, and this was her chance. As a nineteen-year-old culinary student, she was too poor to see the Kpop group in concert, but at least she could watch them walking by at the airport. As X O is about to arrive, an overzealous fan claws through, knocking Talitha over and ruining any chance at an encounter. Heartbroken, she heads to work, expecting another routine catering service, until she walks in to find herself face to face with Chansol. Instead of reacting like a normal person she breaks down in tears. Fight or flight kicks in and Talitha runs outside only to bump into the Korean paparazzi. Worse yet, Chansol has followed her, and the paparazzi chase them off the premise. She thinks their escape together is an accident, but his motives for choosing Talitha are much deeper than she expects.

It is pure fantasy for a 19 year old working class fan girl to meet and spend time with her favorite pop star with the face and body of Ross Butler and have him instantly hopelessly fall in love with her. Yet that is K-drama romance *wink*. If you like Janette Rallison, Kelly Oram, K-pop, K-drama, or been an super obsessed fan girl you probably will like this. I could not relate at all with the fan girl obsession and thinking you are in love with your idol, but I do love streaming K-drama TV series and movies, so I enjoyed the similar and familiar to that genre plot points. Plus I loved the plot twist why the hero Chansol was already in love with the heroine Talitha.
Language: No profanity.
Sensuality content: Clean. Kisses only. They do fall asleep on the living room floor together, but with their heads purposely facing opposite directions. So head looking at the others feet.

3.5 stars — I’ve enjoyed a few of these Kpop Romances by Ms. Bennett, and they are always a fun, light, quick read! This one was no exception. There were so many cute moments between Chansol and Talitha, moments that totally made me smile and gave me butterflies. Unfortunately, there were also some cringey moments for me, b/c I suffer from terrible secondhand embarrassment. This won’t happen for everyone, it’s just a personal thing.
I’m not a Kpop or Kdrama fan, and I can honestly say that I don’t understand this level of fangirling…and so despite suspending my disbelief, I still had a hard time connecting with Talitha in this one. She would have moments where I really loved her, those moments where we got to see her normal everyday self. And I enjoyed some of her fandom, it was kind of adorable. But there were moments where it just started making me feel uncomfortable. I totally understand that many people feel this way about all sorts of celebrities, it’s just funny that I happen to be a bit opposite. I tend to feel bad for celebrities, b/c they’re put on a pedestal, and seen as above the rest of us mere mortals. Talitha wasn’t always like that, but it would come out every now and then and every time I cringed. Honestly, she was a bit back and forth about this — some moments she would see Chansol as the guy he is behind the celebrity, and then in her thoughts she’d be back to calling him an idol. I will admit that bummed me out a bit. The celebrity stories I’m most attracted to are ones where the non-celeb sees the celebrity without all that artifice. I kept waiting for that aha moment, and I didn’t get it in this one. *shrugs*
And since we only had Talitha’s POV, I really didn’t get a chance to know Chansol that well. He seemed pretty adorable from what I could tell though. I was happy that at the end we got to understand why he was enchanted by her. I had my own theories, and they were close, but I loved the parts I didn’t guess.
Sam was an intriguing friend character. Sometimes she came across more cold or insensitive, and I was worried that her character would have a bad twist. But instead we got a good twist, and I’m happy with how her part played out.
So yeah. Still light, clean fun, with a good dose of adorableness. But if you’re like me and celebrity hero worship makes you a bit squeamish, this may not be the best one to start with by Ms. Bennett. Try Undercover Fan instead.
Thank you for any and all love on #fangirlproblems! This book was super fun to write. Talitha and Cahnsol's chemistry lifted off the page as I writing. It was hard to get them to keep their hands off each other ;) I will always be a fangirl, and I hope other fangirls enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Love to you all!
These little books are always so silly and corny but they're also fun. I'm in the middle of midterms and just wanted something cute and quick, and this was perfect for that. These are fun if you don't take them too seriously and accept them for what they are. And honestly, I'd read a story about every member of EXO lol.
Man, I totally relate to Talitha - if I met any of my fave k-pop idols I would fall apart in a second. This was a cute, sweet, fast read, and while I cringed a lot (because there is a lot that is pretty humiliating in here) I also smiled a lot too. Will read more from this author for sure.
I really couldn't give this a higher rating because - let's face it - the plot is fairly clear and simple. American Nice Girl Fan Girl meets Male Korean Pop Idol and they fall in love. Every fan girl's dream!
However (and this is a big However), there are a lot of extras that make this a really enjoyable read. Bennett provides humor, believable side characters and has obviously done a ton of research into how Korean pop stars live, perform, travel and generally exist in the bubble of idol stardom.
Think of the star system of the old Hollywood actors where everything is controlled by the studio - now times that by ten and have it start at about age 15. Bennett takes this pressure cooker of stardom and plops in a nice American girl with dreams of chef stardom and the whole thing actually zings with good humor and lightweight romance. Both of the main characters are quite young so the romance doesn't go too far but it also reminds you of when just the frisson of kissing was quite enough! I read it right before a much more "adult" romance and thought the amount of "skinship" (as they say in Korean dramas) was appropriate.
I certainly think Bennett could be onto a good formula - I read the entire book while stranded on the tarmac of an airport, waiting to take off and when we finally took off, I was in a much better mood.
Beside being extremely easy to understand which K-pop group (and which of its members) this book is inspired by, to be honest that I'm not much of a fangirl, but I'd be lying if I say I didn't have some of their songs on my iPod. That being said...I started reading this book in one of those NO days and wasn't feeling quite well (you know, life problems and stuff!) and well, the simplicity and the humour of the story put me back in a good spirit! Although, this isn't normally the kind of book I read, I was offered an ARC & it seemed interesting. Boy did it surprise me. This story grabbed me right from the start with Talitha's realism & humor. I read it all in one sitting at like 3am in the morning & found myself laughing out loud, sometimes groaning too. This was a sweet story with plenty of humor & some kissing too. It was a very enjoyable read that has got me curious for more.
Another fun story about a normal girl meeting her bias love in a Kpop band. It made me laugh out loud a few times and kept me entertained through the whole story. Loved the ending too with a twist I did not see coming that started it all. And the inside jokes/references about Kpop stars was a double hoot. Just a well written story to read that was a very clean read. I loved it.
This was my first KPop romance so I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall it was a cute, lazy Saturday read. I liked that Talitha was a little bit more rounded and has a personality. The main characters kiss a bit and fall asleep on a couch together, but that's the extent of their physical/sexual interactions.
I'm hooked! I absolutely swooned the entire time. That certain Chan is my ultimate bias so I got the mega feels the second I read the description. I bought it in five seconds flat after finding it. It was so cute and swoony. Absolutely going to read this a million more times.
This was a quick, insta-love, clean romance set in a world (kpop) that I’ve actually never looked at before. It was a cute, fluffy read that took less than an hour to finish and it was sweet. Sure it was a tad OTT on the cheesiness and the insta-love but it was a good read. And I loved the ending. That was super cute.
Thought this book was really cute. Its a fun, fast, and light read. If you're a K-pop fangirl like I am you will definitely relate to the main character. It felt very much like reading one of the billion of seemingly impossible scenarios you'd make in your head being a fangirl. If you're looking for a fluffy read with a happy ending I recommend.
I've never been a fan girl, so I wasn't able to relate to Talitha in that way, but you don't need to be a fan girl to enjoy this sweet romance. Talitha and Chansol come from very different worlds, but their chemistry and love is great. I enjoyed this book.
This was a very fast, fun read. Can't say that I'm a Kpop fan, as until now, I'd never heard of it, but I enjoyed this book. It was cute, sweet, and a little silly, just right for a quick escape. I'd read more like it.
I don't often write two star reviews but today I can't help it. I enjoy kpop, and Korean drama but this was just too much. It was out there and plain silly. I suppose if your an uber can who makes up day dreams you may like it?
I didn't know what kpop meant but I soon figured it out. This book was silly and fun and strange. I enjoyed it and had to figure out what happened next. I loved the end and enjoyed the clean story.
I adored this cute and sweet book. It was a quick read, but super fun. I really liked the explanation of why Chansol was in the area (Sam is AWESOME!). It was sweet and clean, I'd rate it PG.
This is probably only the second book I have given a five star review to. I read this book from start to finish in one sitting! I could not put it down! Love it all.
Talaithia and Chansol are our main characters. A very touching story of love. Reads well took me 2 hours. I love this authors talent. Will be looking for more books after this review. 💜💜💜
I'm going right in the middle here with stars. It's cute even if meant for teens. Yet, I did enjoy it, toward the end. I was not liking how it all was going, it seemed unrealistic. Until the sweet explanation at the end, which brought the whole story full circle and believable.
The book is a self indulgence on the author's part. The characters aren't very well fleshed out, and it's obvious who the male lead is based on. But despite these flaws that are distracting, it's still a cute read.
I chose this for one of my reading challenges that asked for a Kpop romance. It was pretty short, and a lot happened but overall a cute story between a fangirl and a Kpop star who spend a day together and fall in love.
I was to only able to finish this book by skim-reading. I even wouldn't recommend this book to k-pop fans. This book was full of cringe and contradicting statements. No me gusto. Lo siento joven
