Ex-army ranger Simon Bremmer moves to Pelican Pointe where he finds out he has a 15 month old little girl named Delaney. He never knew he fathered a child and now the child's mother is dead so its up to him to raise his little girl. ER nurse Gilly is a single mom of 3 year Jayden. They meet & fall & fall in love. The two kids are a hoot with their antics & the romance between the couple is nice.

Scott--that says it all.

Single dad with issues, single mom with issues, Pelican Pointe and Scott Phillips, and you have another top notch book about the ex-military personnel and the people who come to love them. Scott has managed to pull together a community of vets, Native Americans, and ordinary people who have all had extraordinary circumstances forming who the are, and what they are capable of doing in the future. You can not go wrong with any book written by this author.

4 solid stars!
It doesnt get 5 stars because it felt long-ish for me... Or its the way i've read it (almost 3 days...)
MC's were amazing
Two single parents
I could say it was friends-to lovers, or something like this story.
No OP scenes, no cheating, no ex drama.
I will read more books from this author, this one was my first one. And i liked it a lot!

I just can't get enough of Pelican Pointe. This was made my heart stutter for our solders home from battle dealing with, or evading life, the PTSD all handle in the small town of Pelican Pointe. He finds out he's a dad. He meets single mom and Nurse Gilly. These books are so well written that you can relate, understand and love most characters. They deal with real life issues, domestic abuse, PTSD, rescue groups and most importantly with hope, love, family. Thank you for another fantastic read.

Is there anything better than a reluctant hero?

A guilt-ridden, ex-sniper Hero and a leery single mom are drawn to each other like kismet. Along with all our favorite Pelican Point characters, Keeping Cape Summer, the 11th in Vickie McKeehan’s series, is a sure fire winner.

Lost souls seem to end up in Pelican Point. Are they the reason departed military hero Scott Phillip’s spirit still lives, to gather them and make this coastal town their home?? Who knows. But all who wander are not lost, but valuable members of this community’s spirit.

McKeehan, yet again, touches deeply into veteran issues, female empowerment, single parenting, aging problems, all the issues we all face. She accomplishes this by wrapping them into the sweetest love stories, restoring hope and faith.
She truly is an author to follow!

Keeping Cape Summer

Simon moved to Pelican Pointe because Nick and Cord army buddies thought it would be the perfect place to start fresh. Then Simon finds out he has a daughter almost two he knows nothing about. When the mother is killed in a accident Simon is her only relative and is dropped on her door step. When Delaney gets sick he takes her to the ER and meets Gilly the nurse on duty. Gilly a single mom herself hits it off with Simon and they help each other out with the kids. Then they both want more to the relationship but are scared because of their past relationships. Can two adults and two kids make it work in the end? Maybe if they can work through their past to a new beginning.

Good book and live this series.

Sweet, sad and satisfying

This story in the series deals with PTSD and aging parents. Simon is struggling with the effects of his time in the army and suddenly finds himself a dad to a toddler. He meets Gilly in the ER on the first night he has his daughter Delaney. He finds out she's a single mom to Jayden and they start dating. Gilly has to deal with her mom, who had been watching Jayden, become ill. Simon's mom takes a break from being a caregiver to her sister who has Alzheimer's to visit. The story shows the challenge of being single parents as well as the challenges of being older. Great writing and interesting characters. I'm hoping for more books in the series

The Pelican Pointe saga with Captain Scott Phillips continues. Simon is an ex-sharpshooter who moves to Pelican Pointe to join his army buddies. What he gets is tangled up with nurse Gilly Grant and her son after having his young surprise daughter dumped on him. Gilly and Simon know they love their kids more than anything but are still drawn to each other. Can they find a way to be together and share the love with their kids? First, Vickie McKeehan has one of the most smooth writing methods that I've come across, especially when she's moving to a secondary plot. Second, the abrupt endings to her books make you want to jump into the next one to continue the current one. That's a hard combination to put down.

Wonderful series!!

Took me a week but I was able to read all 11 books, I loved how the stories brought the pelican Pointe to life. Scott Phillips is not really the main character even tho he is the reason for the stories every book is linked to the one before with a different twist to each one,I'm ready to move there!!, I hope this isn't the last one for I'm intrigued with Simons spotter from his sniper days.these books and characters come alive and I will surely miss pelican Pointe and it's residents!!!

There was a reason he was there

It's been a while since simon came to this small town but one day his life changed drastically when he found out he was now a single father. He was so overwhelmed that the first night a nurse named Gilly was at the ER to help calm him down. Every night when simon would have his dreams, Scott would remind him he was there for a reason.
GILLY has secrets too and a single mom trying to make it with a mom that lately hasn't been acting right has been a little too much but when gilly and simon worked together things grew between them.

Keeping Cape Summer is another great story in the Pelican Pointe series. Simon is another of several former Army soldiers who ends up in Pelican Pointe to forget the horrors of war and move forward in life. Gilly is a nurse and single mother trying to move forward as well. With a bit of help from the ghost of Scott, the two of them find exactly what, and who, they are looking for. Love this series, and loved this book!

Growing ,good and proper

This tale of the people of Pelican Pointe is so much more than"just" a romance. Each book of this series brings new people, new needs, new adventures to the reader and makes one look forward to the next. Simon and Gilly' s stories of parenthood and family are fun and entertaining.

This installment of the Pelican Point series was very good. Simon is a ex army vet who moves to the town. He finds out he has a daughter after her mother dies. Gilly is a single mother of a young boy.

This story deals with single parenting and coming back after being in combat.
The author did a very nice job portraying both situations.

Enjoyed this one
