Hebby Roman is so talented when it comes to delivering a story that captures the heart. Cristabelle The Christmas Bride, the 2nd book in her West Texas Frontier Series, delved into a serious topic, but Ms. Roman deliveres it with a light hearted feel. Life is hard and everyone seems to cast opinions of others without knowing all the facts. Unfortunately it still exists in today’s society; “people are going to believe what they want to, no matter the circumstance. It’s the way of the world.”
Crissy was trying to find herself, take care of her ailing Mom, and keep true to her faith and beliefs. She’s holding secrets about her Mom, that could cast them out into an unforgiven world. Will the secrecy she holds to protect her family, be discovered? Davie, stationed at Fort Clark in West Texas, took one look at Crissy and knew she was “THE ONE.” Being stationed at a Fort however, was not what he wanted for any wife, but furthermore, is he even ready for a bride? As disaster strikes an innocent stagecoach and the Fort becomes the target, will the true perpetrators be revealed before another attack occurs? This was a beautiful love story about redemption, sacrifices, and forgiveness. Hebby Roman’s West Texas Frontier Trilogy Series will satisfy all historical romance lovers.
Crissie struggled to make a life for her mother after her step father was killed in an accident. Knowing what her mother had been forced to do after being left with no means to support her and her daughter, made it difficult to trust any man. David was just as determined to break through the walls Crissie out up and marry the girl of his dreams.
Hebby Roman is an author I only recently started reading. Each book I complete by this wonderful talented writer endears her even deeper into my Heart. Crissy and Davie’s story was full of why I love Historical Western Romance. The setting in this story was full of rich history. Hebby Roman brings the history out in such a way that made me want to find out more on Fort Clark and its contribution to our American West History. The story is also about forgiveness and how one can rise above horrible painful situations in life and make a new start with Hope and Dignity no matter how bad things may seemingly may be. Cristabelle can definitely be summed as a Inspirational Western Historical Romance and well worth a reader’s time.
Do you like to just let go and laugh until your side's hurt? In the midst of a beautiful reflective moment, do you find the answers you have been seeking.? Can you finally find the truth about those you love and let forgiveness enter your heart? These are some of the questions she had to solve before she could go to Davie as the Angel he called her. What about her Mom, her mainstay who would do anything, and I mean anything for her child. How many of you could or would go to those extremes for your child. After all, It was the wild, wild west. As I read this book, "Cristabelle, the Christmas Bride," by Hebby Roman, I had a chance to really think about her books. The first one I read, confession time,I actually thought they were fluff pieces, but how could they inspire the loyalty of so many fans and readers. So I began to look at how Hebby twinedthe passions, and the goals and dreams of her character s around the book. That is when my own epiphany hit. How could I ever thought these were fluff books. I was looking at real genius. Hebby writes as she talks, open, upfront , and honest. She doesn't need lurid, graphical sex to make her point. She has only to use her openness and honesty to make her point. So, ssshhh, I can't tell you any more or I'll have a spoiler. Just read her books and you will see what I mean. Hebby Roman, you have a fan, a reader, and a friend for life.
Loved this book. Hebby Roman takes you on a journey with each book. The twists and turns that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. Cristabelle had to come to terms with the past. Trust wasn't something that came easy to her. Forgiveness and trust do finally come but at what costs?
Wow what a fantastic and exciting book. Cristabelle and her mother have plenty of reasons to not trust men but can they get over it to find love. Many twist and turns makes for a very a very exciting and entertaining adventure. Action right up to the end. I highly recommend you read this story and the others in this series and all title's by Hebby 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💖💖💖💖💖
This is a wonderful story that a lot of people can relate to. Horrible rumors that can tarnish a reputation for family members to endure. It's also a story of faith, love and forgiveness. Thank you Hebby Roman for writing another spellbinding book.
The historical aspects of this books are immensly enlightening and written in a way that flows easily into the storyline, making the overall setting very realistic and believable. The story, itself is sweet but Cristabelle’s actions - especially near the end, make NO sense! Both her and Davie’s behavior seemed more like young adolescent’s rather than grown people.
Well I have had a busy week and was supposed to start this book on the 12th. I barely had the time to pick it up yesterday and I read it all before I was able to put it back down. Hebby Roman has written a beautiful story about a young lady (Cristabelle Shannon/Crissy) that is living a hard life as a wash lady at Fort Clark that is close to the Texas and Mexico border. Cristabelle will win you over and you will hope she has a very happy ending. What an unfortunate life she and her mother have had. This story will make you realize that our modern day lives are nothing to take for granted. It's a testament to honesty is the best policy in our lives no matter the immediate consequences. Cristabelle: The Christmas Bride (A West Texas Frontier Trilogy Book 2) has a very serious theme to it and one that I can't even imagine being stuck in. I could imagine doing exactly what Crissy's mother did in order to survive and to support myself and my daughter and I'm so happy that Crissy's mom gets her happy ending. Crissy was educated by the nuns at Ursuline Convent and is devote in her Christian beliefs. She has no intention of ever being taken advantage of by a man with less than honorable intentions. If her life at the fort doesn't work out or if her ailing mother passes she has every intention of returning to the convent to assist the nuns and live a peaceful life.
Sergeant David Donovan is a prankster that goes up and down in rank because of his need to pull pranks. He always wins back his stripes on an act of bravery. "Davey" had joined the army to live a life of adventure and to not be stuck in his hometown of Galveston, Texas, and working for his father inside four walls for the rest of his life. He has every intention of staying a bachelor and remaining in the army until he sees and meets the laundress, Crissy. She stirs up feelings in him that he's never had before.
Just when I thought the happily ever after was set a lying little trollop strikes out of jealousy and her own despiration and threatens Dave and Crissy's entire future. Jealousy and rumors can be the root of so many problems in life.
Hebby Roman has become one of my favorite authors of 2018 and I can't wait to read more of her books. If you enjoy Romance and particularly Historical Western Romance you'll love this book and this series.
Chrissy struggles to care for her Ill mother and keep their secret. Davie finds his womanizing heart stricken with only thoughts of Chrissy. Hebby Roman has set this tale ablaze with history and the turmoils of romance between a soldier and a young woman carrying fears. Davie never gives up on his Angel. Does Christmas Magic happen? Read this emotional story to find out. Another vivid tale of the Texas frontier. 5 stars.
I enjoyed this second book in the trilogy as much as the first one. Very entertaining, great story line and I loved the two main characters, Cristabelle and David. Hebby Roman writes a story which takes you through all the twists and turns, all the while building a beautiful love story, woven in among the hardship, uncertainty and unsavory characters. Add a very satisfying ending and I was a happy reader. Already downloaded the third book. JudyE
This story is masterfully crafted with an historical outline. The author sends you to 1875 Fort Clark, Texas with ease and places you into the setting of the fort, its soldiers, residents, and raids. The cast is interesting with characters of strength, kindness, and a few not so nice. Cristabelle and David are strong leading characters built on faith and family and they have an instant chemistry that leads them from a bumpy road to an everlasting romance. The Christmas aspect comes near the end chapters with beautiful symbols for the season. The author adds a few twists to the enjoyable plot. Cristabelle is book two of A West Texas Frontier Trilogy. Mallory: The Mail Order Bride is book three and already in my reading schedule. Rating 4 Stars. Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.
This was a roller coaster ride. The ups and downs. I loved the ending with the Christmas wedding. It almost didn’t happen. Lies can be life changing. Worth the read
Chrissy was the daughter of a former prostitute and She was a laundered at Fort Clark in Texas. Chrissi's mother has consumption and was very weak and ill. David was in the army and quit a prankster. He had several times lost a stripe for his pranks, but always earned them back. Their first encounter was due to a prank of his. They have several exciting adventures and learned about each other's hopes and dreams, but would they ever find their happily ever after together? This is a very enjoyable love and adventure story.
The characters in the story of a well rounded and well defined. The storyline headed to twist interns which kept me reading wait too late. The interaction between the characters was well thought of by the author. A good Texas story.
This was the second book in the series and I just again was so involved. This is a western that really is a twister in characters. Hebby hit the ball over the wall with this one!
