Single male needed for former fiancé’s wedding. Must pretend to be my boyfriend for the day. Steady employment necessary, must look great in a suit and be between the ages of 25 - 40. Bonus points if similar in nature to a Disney prince.
Meghan Carter, the owner of Westside, is blindsided when she receives an invitation to her ex's wedding; the one who left her at the altar four years ago. Whatever the motive may be behind the invite, she needs to show up and prove she's better off without him. On the arm of the perfect man would be the best kind of revenge.
The workaholic reluctantly sets up a dating profile and through the slush pile, four potential candidates seem acceptable. However, there's one she feels a connection with as he understands the motivation behind needing the fake date and is willing to be her arm candy.
She didn't join the dating site to be jerked around, and she didn't join it to find an everlasting love, but feelings start blossoming. Is the attraction real, or is someone saying everything she's desperate to hear? Because she just crawled out of the dark hole and she doesn't want to fall back in. Ever again.
H.M. Shander is an award winning and USA TODAY bestselling author who is a hopeless romantic and lover of chocolate, coconut and a damn good cup of coffee.
She's the author of several reader's choice books (Bronze medal for Return to Cheshire Bay and the Gold Medal for Living La Vida Mocha). An upcoming release was also a Kobo Writing Life finalist - so watch for that to release soon. She writes swoon-worthy, gentle beta heroes, in sweet or steamy storylines that all end with a happily ever after.
When not writing, she is a part-time librarian and Educational Assistant to a group of kindergartens, a devoted mother to her two kids, and believes she's married the sweetest man and the greatest inspiration for her heroes.
A well written story with nice storyline and plot. Likeable main characters who develops nicely through the story. Nice chemistry and passion between them. How to choose the right partner and fight for it despite all the issues that is thrown at you. How to catch the chance for your HEA. Both main characters have not had the easiest life. A lot has been thrown at them and they have tried to fight back not to drown in all the misery. A story that is a mix of drama, love, emotions, secrets, lies, romance, steam and sweetness. Enjoyable, engaging and entertaining read.
What a great book! Even though the west side series can be read as stand alone books, I recommend saving this for last. It was my favorite of the 4. Shander did not disappoint me with this book. I loved how much Meghan grew through the book and every heartache she felt, I could feel too.
This is book four in The Ladies of Westside series and it is Meghan and Gabe's story. Meghan is the owner of Westside Restaurant and work's hard and looking forward to opening another one soon but she is really taken back when she gets a wedding invitation from her ex who left her at the alter four year's ago but what is his motive and now she will have to decide if she is going but not alone ask she will have to find someone to go with her so that she can not only get closer but also get revenge but who will she take with her and will it work out. I absolutely loved this book and it is definitely my favourite of this amazing series as it has great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and kept your attention throughout along with strong chemistry between them that definitely added into the mix and had you turning the pages to see what would happen next and also what the outcome would be. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed and I can't wait to read more book's by this author in the future.
All through this series, we wonder what is up with Meghan, the owner of Westside. She comes across as strict and unapproachable, not wanting to be friends with any of her employees, yet striving to open a new restaurant. She seems a little closer to some than others, but finally, we learn her story. She has suffered a horrid incident and is embarrassed and humiliated. A wedding invitation prompts her to sign up for an online date. Her dear friend Gabe listens to all her woes as she dates guys to see if they suit her. She learns a lot about people, especially men. She finds one "mystery man" who agrees to meet her. We all suspect the truth, but she doesn't. They go to the wedding, and vengeance is delivered in a hilarious scene. There is a nice reunion at the end, so we see how things are for the previous characters in the series. Nicely written; everything fits.

Another moving story. Meghan was so down-to-earth, hardworking, determined to make a success of herself - at work, if not romantically. I was with her every step of the way as she started to step out from behind her wall, to get beyond the hurt and humiliation dealt by her former fiancé. In four years, Meghan has not only bought but successfully run a restaurant and is set to expand her business (the ex? Still a loser!) And Gabe - her sweet, supportive neighbor - manages a sneaky entry into Meghan’s emotional life in the best way. It’s a slow burn story. Meghan has so many feelings to work through brought on by the invitation to her ex’s wedding. A very satisfying story.

What a ride.... Wow. I mean seriously, wow. That was one hell of a read. I am not sure that I even know where to begin writing a review for this because it is truly an awesome experience. It was like these were real people and this situation could be real. I really thought this book was an awesome addition to the genre. Great character development, steamy sex scenes and twists and turns to be able to sink into the book. This book is Amazing so get to it!

This author never ceases to amaze me with her incredible writing and unique storylines. This is a wonderful story with our jaded heroine receiving an invite to an ex’s wedding that she just can’t attend without a fake boyfriend on her arm, as she’s missing the real thing currently. She decides on a dating site and ends up with four candidates, one of which can’t meet until the wedding. Lots of emotions and secrets as she is not sure what to do!.

Kudos HM ! I have enjoyed all my H.M. books and " Serving Up Hope " tops the list. I thought the plot was novel ( no pun intended ), it was well written and simply an overall good read. H.M., I bet you could turn your hand to a dynamite cozy mystery genre series ??? Stargazing planetarium employee loves romance novels, loathes mysteries but keeps stumbling into a who dunnit ??? Sigh, just a hope ! LOL
I've read several books written by H.M. Shander; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the fourth book in the Ladies of Westside Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Megham & Gabe; they live next door to each other. When her ex sends her an invitation to his wedding she gets wants to go and show him she’s better off without him.

Saving face is hard enough. Add in a wedding invite from an ex-fiancé? Impossible.
With a brief catchphrase like the above to grab your attention, this is bound to be a great story and the author didn't disappoint. A fantastic storyline that grabs your attention and keeps you turning the pages. You love getting to know the characters and they feel like friends you've known for years. A great weekend read.

What a wonderful romantic story!! HM Shander you have such a gift for storytelling. I loved everything about Meghan and her search for the perfect date. I loved the ending because it tied up everything in the Ladies of Westside series. Thank you!!
Maybe a three and a half. I liked the story and the writing, but there were a couple of loose ends that never got tied up that bothered me. Would definitely read another of her books though.
This is book four in the Ladies of Westside series. It’s a slow burn heartwarming emotional romance. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
