A great continuation of the previous story and the debate over what intelligence really is, as the main character and her team continue to learn and adapt. I really appreciate the science in these science fiction books. The programming aspects are always interesting to me as is the engineering. But it is also very much a character story so we do get a lot of internal dialogue as well as conversations between characters. In this series that works really well for me. I very much enjoyed this novel.

I was afraid this might happen. This sequel is full of the things that made the first novel bad- particularly long-winded soliloquies. They, and by extension, this book, are b-o-r-i-n-g. I'm going to have to DNF this one.

While it's a bridge book a lot happens. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the third.

It was quite good, but you have to read book number one in the series. The story is different and believable.
