After leaving Sister Nadine and the other two nuns at the convent in Oklahoma Territory, Jess is back doing what he does best. He crosses back into Texas and heads to the town of Hoover, where he finds the man he’s hunting, Brian Reed.
While in Hoover, he meets a hired gun by the name of Vic Pardo. Pardo finds the man he was hired to kill and easily dispatches him to an early grave. Not having another job after that, he convinces Jess to let him ride along with him for a while to make some extra money. They make a good team and hunt down some stone-cold killers together.
Along the way, a fast draw expert from Boise, Idaho, confronts Jess. He wants to finish his unblemished career as an expert gunfighter by challenging Jess, but Jess quickly discovers that the gunfighter might love his whiskey more than his reputation.

Familiar story line from Thomas. This is at least the third time he's used Jess working to clean up a town taken over by outlaws. Only variation is the people helping him.
Jess and his riding buddies are riding the redemption trail heading for "HELL TOWN." Pardon whose a gun for hire is riding with Jess more or less to cover Jess's back as they meet up with evil vile men. Raglan is from Boise, Idaho whose owns a bar, but he's on the trail trying to make a name and legend as a gunnie. Raglan has none notches on his pearl handle pistols and he like everyone else want to slap iron with Jess, which is a totally stupid idea. Well you need to read this adventure of two men who've rode with Jess and what they think of him as he takes care of business. These men who've come into contact with Jess leave with a better understanding and richer, some are able to start the life they want because of Jess. , Shadow made an appearance and scared the scared out of them so much that the owlhoots didn't know who to be afraid of Jess or Shadow.

Jess continues to eliminate the worst of the worst criminals. Wanted dead or alive usually means dead to him. Hopefully RJT will continue writing the great Jess Williams Western series since 1 - 71 were page turners. I highly recommend this author.
There is nothing I can say about Jess Williams books that I have not already said they are brilliant stories that keep you interested from beginning to end I have now read all 76 books and look forward to the next 76.roll on 77
Never tire of Jess Williams exploits. You Jess Williams fans will surely enjoy this read. Would love to see more of Shadow in future adventures. Now "Giddy Up.
This is more like the Jess Williams books , I like even though he's hunting someone, he's helping someone. Like talking the guy from another state, he didn't want to die. The guy drinking just 3 drinks and passing out. Funny. Enjoyed .
Another town in Texas taken over by outlaws. Jess along with two gunslinger and two Texas Rangers and Shadow, goes into Hell Town to capture a killer who killed a Texas Ranger. They also kill the other outlaws. Lots of action.
Sometimes Jess does things differently and then again, he does things the same. One of the best things about Jess is that he looks out for the underdog. That makes for a good read about one of my favorite characters. Keep afte them bad guys Jess!!!
This story was better than some I've read lately in this series but I'm still enjoying following my reading of 70 stories you know Jesse will always Win!!
Warning! Robert Thomas's hunter Jess Williams is highly addictive. You can likely find many of the first books of the series for free but be forewarned, it's a trap! The next thing you know you will have read all seventy-one of the books and be jonesing for the next book, praying that Thomas will finish it before you go through withdrawal, which, of course, you never will. Jess Williams, the lead character , is a man whose character was forged in the hell that claimed his entire family when he was a boy. With the help of a unique pistol, his friends, and sometimes a timber wolf, he rids the West of the worst of the worst badmen.
