Caine Cousins #2

Hard to Handle

Rate this book
Lynx Caine is no stranger to trouble. He’s found himself knee deep in it more times than he can count. But never has he found himself in the sort of hot water he’s in now. Lynx has been waiting what feels like a lifetime for Reagan Trevino to dump the loser she’s spent nearly a decade with. Now that she’s single, Lynx is free to make his move. And he fully intends to do so.

However, Reagan is not going to be easy to catch. She has some stipulations for the bad boy of Embers Ridge, and she has every intention of sticking to them. Or that was her plan. Unfortunately, her good intentions are thwarted when a madman draws her right into the line of fire.

When Lynx refuses to let her out of his sight, Reagan soon realizes the sexy country boy might be tattooed from neck to knuckles, but he’s got a heart as big as Texas and resisting him is a whole lot harder than she anticipated.

I'm not going to lie. About half way through book 1, I had no intentions of reading this book. I didn't particularly care for Lynx and their relationship is not one I usually enjoy...the whole "I've wanted you for years but I screwed half the county" and "I've been in love with you since I was 16 but I never said anything so I hid behind a rotten boyfriend" troupe. Reagan had a boyfriend for the whole 10 years. All they had shared was a kiss when she was 16 and he was 18. He thought she was too young and then by the time she was 18 she had a boyfriend whom she repeatedly broke up with only to take back again and again. So, you can't blame a guy for moving on. But, when I got to the end of book 1 and realized the baddie hadn't gotten his due, I knew I was going to read this one.

Lynx grew on me. Once Reagan was available, he went for it full steam ahead. I ended up really liking him. He's hot and tatted up and he's all about pleasing his woman. You also find out in this book, he's actually a pretty nice guy and not as whorish as you might think. You begin to understand where he's coming from and why he's done the things he has.

Reagan drove me completely bonkers. She's exactly the type of heroine I don't like. She was snarky and sassy to Lynx...almost bitchy. But the worst was the mixed signals she sent him. He was looking for forever and she only wanted "right this moment". He told her what he was after. She knew. So when she comes to him and wants him and he lets her know this is it for him, she freaks and runs. She plays this little game for a long time. Too long, IMO. I get you're protecting your heart and don't want to be another "notch on the bedpost" but geez woman! How long does he have to prove it's more than that? THEN, she becomes all "Miss Independent" and refuses help from Lynx and the town because she doesn't take handouts. WTF? You need the help...people are nice and want to help...why would you not gracefully accept the help? She annoyed the fuck out of me.

So, we get a little more of Wolfe, Rhys and Amy. The baddie gets his comeuppance (though I wish we could have actually seen that even if I am a bit squeamish), and an epilogue 3 months out. I really want more of Wolfe, Rhys and Amy. I want to see marriage and babies for them. Hopefully she'll write at least a novella in the future.

ah, the second book in Caine Cousins series, was in fact, smething that I hoped it would be, well, most of the time LOL
I wanted Reagan Trevino & Lynx Caine's push and pull
"You can keep runnin' from me, girl. I'll just keep chasin'.

to burst into the freakin flames,
"Why can't you just leave me alone?"
"Because I want you. More than my next fuckin breath."

I wanted their 10 years long pent up tension to explode in fireworks worthy event,
I have spent...Goddamn! For ten fuckin' years, Reagan...I have wanted you. And then when you turned eighteen...I've spent the past eight years waitin' for you.

the tease, the snarky banter, the sexappeal off the charts I wanted those fuckin butterflies tingling my insides...from anticipation...god...
"Reagan", he whispered as his lips hovered over hers. "I'm so tired of fightin' this.
"Don't fight this", he whispered, his lips brushing hers.

God, that man was persistence personified...I loved it!

the rest of the story was intertwined with the "catching" of that abusive fuck that hurt Amy, and the re-appearances of the Walker boys, especially the badass Travis Walker (awww...always good to see that man, in any aspect possible LOL)

well, all considering, i did get what i wanted ou tof this book, but the whole package still seemed a bit dragging in pacing and the resolvement of that whole issues wasn't quite what i expected but all in all, I enjoyed it!

I'm disappointed with the story: it talks about the second couple, the bad guy, who is supposed to be the central character in the story is captured by mafia , and that's it.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hard to Handle is the second book in the Caine Cousins Series from Nicole Edwards. You have to read Hard to Hold or you will be lost. This is also Lynx and Reagan's story.

Lynx Cane has never ever been a stranger to trouble. He is not stranger to fighting for what he believes in and you better not challenge him or disrespect a woman in front of him. He will kick your butt. However Lynx has bigger trouble in the form of a girl he kissed when his mom died. A girl he has been in love with for as long as he can remember. The only girl he has ever been in love with. Reagan. For a decade he has sat back and waited till the time was right. For her to open up more but more importantly get away from her controlling, cheating, mean as all get out ex Billy. Regain isn't going to be easy to catch and Lynx is well aware of her stipulations for him. However things are changing as the mad man after Amy draws Reagan right into the line of fire. This causes Lynx to not want to let her out of his sight will Reagan finally realized the guy shes always see with the tattoo's from neck to knuckles is really a guy with a huge heart who only wants to be her? Or will she push and push until she pushes him away forever?

I had already fallen in love with so many characters in these two books while reading Hard To Hold and I was beyond thrilled to have this book in my hands. If you love the back and forth that you saw in Hard to Hold buckle up, your about to go on one wild ride. And don't fret the conclusion to Amy's journey is in this book too. You also get Wolfe, Amy and Rhys. Oh and two words......TRAVIS WALKER!!!! Yep the Walker brothers make a visit or two to Ember's Ridge. If you have read Nicole's books you know exactly who I am talking about. If you have never had the privilege of meeting the Walker brothers you have some serious good reading ahead of you too.

I loved every single second of this book. I loved the push and pull between Lynx and Reagan. These two could melt a polar ice cap in three point five seconds. They have some of the most amazing chemistry I've ever read. These two will have you begging with your whole heart for them to please please please spend five minutes together without the nope I better not or I shouldn't. That makes this book so much fun to read. They are so in love and while one might admit it the other wouldn't admit to anything for a million dollars. Ugh and then there is Billy but I will say I am so proud of Reagan given their history. She deserves so much better than Billy and always has. Now she just needs to see that for herself. Add in a madman on the lose who thinks he is way about any law and it makes for a book you will not put down and you might just find yourself cheering and wishing you knew just a little bit more about what happens at a certain point. I've said enough.....no spoilers but I could go on and on.

Hard to Handle is on of those books that you want to call your best friend and talk about it for hours. Both books together make for one amazing Must Read Duet. You do not want to miss the action, adventure, and love in Ember's Ridge. Maybe too by the time your through reading you will be wishing you were living in that exact town with all these amazing people. Well done Nicole Edwards. You have written one amazing world that I never wanted to leave.

Never underestimate Nicole Edwards!

This is the second book in a two book series and no leaf was left unturned!! Both books are too hot to handle! With sexy cowboys and their women and Wolfe's case their men too, you are sure to get everything that you desire. Lynx and Reagan have been skirting around their feelings for each other, neither one ever where the time was right. Lynx has been patiently waiting and when everything seems to fall into place, there is no holding back! You will also see again some past characters that we have grown to love. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat! Loved it!

Always enjoy Nicole's writing and Lynx & Reagans book didn't disappoint. It was a great continuation from Rhys, Wolfe & Amys story and I loved having the cameos from other series- especially the Walkers .... my all time favorite family ❤️ The saga continued with a lunatic out stalking Amy and making trouble for Reagan. The final conclusion of this situation was interesting and I felt a little frustrated that we didn't get more time with that situation given it was one of the the key focuses of the two books. All in all, hot scenes, lots of love and awesome Alphas 😎

I am extremely sad to say how much I didn't enjoy this book. I loved , let me say it again I Loved The Alluring indulgence series. I have re-read them many times and they to this day are my go to books for a great story, great characters and hot as Hell men!
However The Caine Cousins books are the polar opposite of the Alluring indulgence books. I had to physically make my self finish these books. The characters were boring and seemed one deminsional, the story was at best tolerable, the sex scenes seemed almost forced and ho hum, compared to her other books these seemed "vanilla", nothing exciting about this book. Let me tell you if I had to hear Lynx say one more time "that's it girl" or come for me girl", get over here girl" I was going to throw my kindle!! WTF did he not remember Reagan's name or was that his alphaness showing (it was an epic fail imo if so)!
The drama that caused this book to go into two books was sort of an after thought and wrapped up in a matter of pages.
The one shining moment in these books is when characters from other books made an appearance and even that seemed blah, Gray boring and let me tell you Travis Walker is not grey or boring!!!
I'm completely confused about how these books came from the Amazing author Nicole Edwards, I love her, get her newsletters and loved so many of her books.
Sadly the last series of books she's put out I just didn't care for. I will have to be more selective about just buying her books based on her as an author and maybe avoid her books for a while. Sad she was my easy one click author buy.
2 stars simply out of courtesy for this amazing author and past books.

Seriously 1/2 stars need to be implemented, because Hard to Handle was a 4.5 star read for me!! I loved it!! Nicole Edwards did a great job concluding this sexy and suspenseful duet...if you have not read Hard to Hold, Caine Cousins Book 1,...Stop and Go Read It, because Hard to Handle picks up the story line began in Hard to Hold, which is Wolf, Amy, and Rhys' story. So, not only is Hard to Handle the conclusion to the Caine Cousins Duet, but it is also Lynx and Reagan's story, both of whom we met in Hard to Hold, and let me just say what a perfect pair these two are.

Lynx Caine, Wolf's cousin and business partner, is a sexy, tattooed, take charge, no holds barred, big-hearted country boy with a bad boy reputation, and Reagan Trevino, Rhys' little sister and owner or Reagan's bar, is a sassy, independent, sexy country girl, and that combination makes for some serious personality clashes between these two, as well as some seriously unexpected tender moments between them. I absolutely loved the dynamics between Lynx and Reagan. Despite being made for each other, these two have been running from each other for a decade!! Each one having preconceived notions about why they couldn't or shouldn't be with the other, but each needing the other to be fully complete. The push and pull between Lynx and Reagan was fun to read, and once they stopped fighting their feelings for each other, their love for each other was powerful and all consuming.

Hard to Handle pulled me right in from page go and kept me engrossed all the way until the end. I was sad it ended. Since Hard to Handle is the conclusion to the Caine Cousins Duet, not only are we reacquainted with all of the characters that we met in Hard to Hold, but we are pleasantly surprised by the appearance of a lot of characters from Nicole Edwards other books. I have to admit that I love when Nicole Edwards intersects her books and characters. It makes for an even more pleasurable reading experience. Nicole Edwards did a fantastic job crafting this story that not only deals with a particularly unpleasant topic, but also deals with the effect of that topic on the person and those around that person, especially that person's loved ones. I highly recommend the Caine Cousins Duet.

The dreaded day has come. I have officially read all the works of Nicole Edwards with no new release in sight for about three months! It may be time for a re-read. Especially since the author had a bunch of her books for 99 cents (side note: how the heck do you make the cent symbol and why isn’t it one of the characters on a keyboard?) I got my son’s fiancée Inked on Paper to introduce her to the wonderful world of Ms. Edwards. I told her if she likes it I’ll loan her the others and she should read them in order of publication. Sounds like a perfect time for a re-read to me!

Now onto this particular book. Of course, I was already in love with both Reagan and Lynx from the first book, Hard to Hold. I loved reading about them finishing their 10-year journey to find love. I got plenty of warm-fuzzies throughout this story and that can only be a good thing.

That being said, I was not as enthralled with this story as a while as I was the first story in the series. I don’t know if it’s because I already knew all of the characters and knew most of their back story. Or maybe I just didn’t find the pairing as exciting as the ménage of the first book? Don’t misunderstand…Reagan and Lynx are HOT. But really, how can that compete with a steamy ménage love? (*Note: there is a Wolfe/Rhys/Amy scene so, although the main story is a M/F story, there is a M/M/F scene included.) I don’t know what it was, but I did find the first book better. I still absolutely loved this book…just not as much.

The tie-in with the Southern Boy Mafia series in this book made so much sense. It helped things have a satisfying ending without compromising the morals and values of the core characters in this series. In a way it was a bit too tidy after all the Caine Cousins and their significant others had been through, but after finishing the story I feel it was the best way to draw that chapter of their lives to a close.

So now the countdown begins to October, when I’ll finally get my hands on Bad Reputation. How will I get through?!?

Hard to Handle is the second book in the Caine Cousins series and it's also the conclusion. You need to read Hard to Hold before Hard to Handle. I loved Hard to Hold so I knew Lynx' story was going to be awesome. This might be one of my favorite series' by Edwards. The only thing wrong with it is that it's over! I want more! Nicole always knows how to transport me and keep me engrossed in her sexy characters. Wolfe and Lynx Caine are cousins of the fabulous Walker brothers. *fanning myself* I'm one of Nicole's biggest fans and she never disappoints. Her writing is fantastic, her characters well developed and her stories always sexy, emotional and filled with the perfect amount of lust, love, foreplay, angst and loss. Lynx is the sexy, tatted bad boy who's always itching for a fight. And he always wins. We knew there was something deep between Lynx and Reagan. They have something that goes back years and never waned. Lynx was never able to show his affection because Reagan wasn't single, but now that she is, all bets are off. He's going to make her his, because in his heart she always has been. I wasn't expecting the soft gooey center of Lynx and I loved it! He's tough and hardcore, but he's gentle, loving and will do anything for the ones he loves. Reagan is putting up a fight. She wants him more and more every day, but she can't forget his past. She's having a hard time believing his feelings, but he's giving her the time and space she needs. They still haven't caught the man terrorizing Amy and Lynx is going to protect Reagan if it kills him. Will Reagan trust in Lynx and let herself fall? Can Lynx admit his feelings once and for all and get the woman he loves? I loved this story! So much! Lynx is sexy, sweet, talented, strong and smart. Reagan is tough, beautiful and determined. We get to see more Wolfe, Rhys and Amy along with the Walkers! Praise Jesus!

"Do you know how fuckin' long I've waited to get my hand on you again? I've dreamed about you, Reagan."

Nicole hits yet another one out of the park! Though this is a short series, it sure is packed full of visitors, drama, excitement and of course sex.

You really have to read Hard to Hold to understand what is happening in Hard to Handle. I am going to my review as if you have already read Hard to Handle.

Even though this book is more centered on Lynx and Reagan there are several scenes with Wolfe, Amy and Rhys. Yeah, some of those scenes too.

Welcome back to Reagan’s bar. Here we are on another Friday night. All the usual players are in place. The new thing is Billy begging Reagan to take him back (again). Reagan is not having it. Then the idiot starts belittling her. In front of Lynx. Yeah, not a good idea. Lynx finally gets to beat Billy’s ass. Lucky for Billy, Rhys is there.

This is Labor Day weekend and Calvin asks Lynx if they are having a party out at the lake this year. He stands up and invites everyone in the bar, who will invite everyone else in town.

The next day at the party, Lynx keeps looking for Reagan and sees 7 trucks coming down the dirt driveway. Low and behold we have our first visitors to this book. Not 1, not 2, but all 7 of the Walker brothers!! They are all happy to be out with their wives/husbands without their kids.

The threat of Kelly Jackson is just as strong as it was in the last book. The best part of family is they all come together when there is trouble.

After a horrible incident happens (can’t tell you it will give away a big part of the book.) All 7 of the Walker brothers, Gage, RT, Z and Madison Arodite all come together to finally put Kelly Jackson to rest for good. (Like I said, a lot of visitors!!)

I know this is kind of a short review, but I really don’t want to give away anything on accident. If you liked Hard to Hold, You are going to LOVE Hard to Handle.

This is book 2 the final book in this series. Hard to Handle is Lynx and Reagan’s story. It also gives you the conclusion of Amy’s story. Lynx is the other half of the furniture maker and cousin to Wolfe and of course the Walkers! When book 1 ended, it gave you their HEA but left the danger not resolved so Amy felt their HEA was on borrowed time. As advertised this was not their story. It does resolve their situation but it is done in a way throughout the book so as not to take away from the actual story of Lynx and Reagan. The chemistry of Lynx and Reagan is OFF THE CHARTS but Reagan will not even think about anything with him because he is technically still married to Tammy and he is a player. She has loved him secretly (or so she thought) since she was 16. Lynx has also loved her since their first kiss but he pushed her away because she was too young. She thought he was pushing her away because of her inexperience but he was actually doing it for other reasons just waiting for her to be of legal age. Unfortunately she started to dated Billy and had an on again off again 10 year thing with him and Lynx would not go after another mans woman even if it is Billy. Finally Reagan saw the light and kicked Billy to the curb. Now Lynx had his opening but Reagan still had her walls up and was not giving into him. Lynx was not giving up either. He had his chance and he was all in. This book saw characters from A LOT of her books. You get visits from Travis and ALL the Walker Brothers including Curtis, RT, & Z from Sniper and our Crime Boss himself Max. It was great to see all of them together for the same cause. I cannot say enough about how you ended the book 1 situation it was beyond fantastic! If you haven't read book 1 what are you waiting for. Read book 1 then go right into book 2. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic Finish to the Caine Cousins story.

Hard to Handle is an amazing sequel to Hard to Hold and an exciting ending to a two book series. It picks right up where Hard to Hold left off and then gives you a much fuller finish to the story begun in Hard to Hold and adds an even more amazing story with Hard to Handle, if you can believe there was room for so much more.

This book centers around Lynx Caine, cousin to Wolfe and as Nicole says”Ultimate Badass” and Reagan Trevino, Sheriff Rhys sister, the girl Lynx can not get over, but isn’t his…yet.

Lynx has been waiting 10 years to get Reagan back in his arms and now that she is a free woman, he will not be letting her push him away. She is destined to be his and he will do all it takes to make her realize that they belong together. Reagan as never quite gotten over Lynx but for longer than she cares to remember he has been bouncing from woman to woman, and has even gotten married, unsuccessfully, and she does not want to be another notch in his bedpost.

But before you think this might be just another love story, you have to remember there is Amy’s stalker, Houston’s Police Chief, Kelly Jackson, who is not finished with Amy and will go through any one who gets in his way, to get what he wants and believes he deserves. Oh and did I mention Billy, Regan’s boyfriend of 10 years, who she is finally fed up with and strong enough mentally to kick to the curb. Don’t let it be said that Nicole will give you a moment to rest before springing another interesting character to the mix.

Now if you are as big a fan of Nicole’s as I am, you will be VERY excited to see Travis Walker, all his brothers and even his father, Curtis, and cousin Jared join the story to help out. And if you thought she would be done there, think again. Max Adorite makes an appearance as well.

Even with all of the returning characters, the story truly is principally about Lynx and Regan and completing the story begun in Hard to Handle. Because of this, you really need to read Hard to Hold first but don’t let that stop you because that is just one more amazing read for you to love.

This is the second and final book in the series. I highly recommend that you read the first book, Hard to Hold, before this one so that you are not lost with both stories.

Lynx Caine is one of the "Bad Boys of Embers Ridge". He and his cousin Wolfe always seem to have trouble find them on Friday nights at Reagan's bar. Reagan is the sister of the sheriff on Embers Ridge, Rhys Trevino. We met Wolfe, Rhys and Amy in book one.

Lynx and Reagan have been dancing around each other for years. One kiss in high school and Lynx knew Reagan was the one for him, but he thought she was too young and he walked away. For ten long years, Reagan has been is relationship with the biggest loser in town. She's finally broken free from that disastrous relationship, and she's sworn off men altogether. Her stubborn side refuses to give in to what her heart knows she needs.
Now that Reagan is free, Lynx has set his sights back on the dark haired beauty and won't quit until he wins her back. This is their story.
We also find out from book one, what happens with Amy's ex, the Houston Police Chief, who is bound and determined to get to Amy and finish what he tried to do years ago. Travis Walker brings in some of his friends and family to help catch this psychopath once and for all.

From the beginning, I really liked Lynx's character. He is truly the definition of "bad boy". He can handle "trash talk" about himself, but he will get in your face if you attack his family and friends. I was also happy to see some of the other characters from Sniper One Security and Bad Boy Mafia and especially Curtis Walker make an appearence.
Another great series from Nicole, however, it was a short series. Hopefully we will get to see more of these characters is future series from Nicole.

No cliffhanger
Book 2 in a 2 book series
Told from multiple POVs
Minor editing errors

I was extremely excited for this book since that last one ended with a huge cliffhanger. It wasn't expected in the last book so waiting the few months for this book to come out was torture.

This book did a good job of finishing up the last book while also telling a completely different love story at the same time.

The Caine cousins are crazy...but in a good way. Wolfe's story was told in the first book and finished up here (kinda). Lynx' story is what this book is really about.

Lynx has been in love with Reagan since she was 16 years old. Knowing then she wasn't ready for him he waited to tell her how he felt. The problem with waiting is that someone's life passes you by.

Reagan started dating Billy when she was 17. He has been horrible to get for 10 years but she has stuck around because she thought he was the lesser of 2 evils. She had no idea Lynx had feelings for her. If she had there is no way she would have wasted so many years with Billy.

When a crazy situation brings Lynx and Reagan together they struggle to keep their feelings to themselves. Reagan being the stubborn woman she is though sure does give it the old college try.

The question is, can these two truly out their pasta behind them and find happiness or will events beyond their control keep them apart.

Don't say I didn't warn you. Here are the reasons I have this book 4 stars instead of 5.

I loved this book and if it wasn't also wrapping up the previous book i would have given it 5 starts but since they way they ended the story with Kelly Jackson i felt didn't do his crimes justice.

I am all for the job taking him out but I wanted him to have to pay for his crimes or at least allow Amy to make his life hell. I did like that in the end he was outed for the monster he was, I just wish he had to suffer a bit more humiliation regarding his ego and standing in the community.

I guess in my book getting taken out by the mob was too easy of a punishment for what he did to all those people.

4.5 stars for - Hard To Handle - the conclusion to the Caine Cousins duet. You have to read book one - Hard To Hold - first in order to fully understand what is happening in this sleepy Texas town. When we last saw the Caine cousins Wolfe Caine was happily agreeing to cohabitation with both Amy and Rhys. With Amy moving out of her house Reagan is all by herself until Lynx takes it upon himself to stand guard every night.
Reagan Trevino is newly single after ten long years with the wrong man. She does not want to start anything with Lynx regardless of how he makes her feel. The more she tells him no the more ways he finds to show her he's the one she needs. Reagan only has so much will power when it comes to the tattooed bad boy...
Lynx Caine has been in love with Reagan for as long as he can remember and now that she is finally single nothing will stand in his way. He will prove to her that they are a perfect fit regardless of her fears. He has totally tamed his wild ways and has set out to make Reagan his once and for all...
Loved this ending to the Caine Cousins series - it had plenty of sexy to go along with all of Lynx's sweet southern charm. Then the danger and mystery come to an epic conclusion that you won't want to miss. Loved meeting new people that you just know have a story to tell. Then the added bonus of cameos of characters from previous series was nice too. Can't wait to see just what Edwards has in store for us next!

Lynx and Reagan shard a kiss when he was 18 and she was 16. At the time he thought she was too young for a relationship, jail bait, so he decided to wait for her. But through a few misunderstandings, she started dating the "sleaze" Billy. When that happened, Lynx started having meaningless sex with one night stands.

Now its 10 years later, Regan finally dumps Billy for good and now both her and Lynx are free. But Reagan is very hesitant, thinking Lynx is now just a player. But all of these years has not dampened the love they feel for each other. This is their story of reconnecting and learning to trust again. And boy, when they finally reconnect, let's just say it's scorching hot!!

We also get reconnected with Wolfe, Amy and Rhys from book 1. The psychopath is still after Amy and is endangering everyone. With the Walker gang of friends and family, it all comes to a head. If you read Book 1: Hard to Hold, then you definitely need to read Book 2: Hard to Handle. This book is filled with love and laughter, angst and tears, very hot sex scenes and very explosive drama with a satisfying climax, no pun intended, LOL.

I really love Lynx and Reagan's story. I also love all of Nicole's books and was fortunate enough to receive an arc of this book for an honest review and received nothing else as compensation.

“Hard to Handle” is the book two of the two part Caine Cousins series. You need to read “Hard to Hold” in order to understand the underlying issues and continuing plot lines of this series involving the Caine cousins. This series is a spinoff of the Alluring Indulgence and Coyote Ridge series and has some surprising appearances from characters of other books. In both books Travis and the rest of the Walker brothers are a part of the story.

Book 1 sets out the relationship of the first Caine cousin, Wolf and his partners Rhys and Amy. It also sets the background for the “pending” relationship between Lynx and Regan.

This book is about the second Caine cousin, Lynx. Lynx is a good old country boy who is no stranger to trouble but ultimately is an honourable man of integrity. Lynx has loved Regan for 10 years, waiting patiently until both of them are free from entanglements in order to pursue a relationship. But will Lynx be able to convince Regan that their love is true and strong enough to last? Regan is determine not to love Lynx and you will enjoy Lynx’s passionate pursuit of Regan. The chemistry between these two is amazing. You will also see that the people of the small town of Embers Ridge take care of their own and how family and friends take care of each other. Another great book (and series) from Nicole Edwards.

Hard to Handle is the conclusion of Hard to Hold. We're given the same intensity as book one but the story is focuses on Lynx and Reagan.

I loved the first book in the series and happy to see Lynx and Reagan get a second chance of happiness. It did take me a bit to get into their story. The pair had chemistry from a young age but something or someone was always getting in their way.

Lynx is as sexy and persistent as his cousin. He wasn't going to give up on the attraction he had for Reagan. He'll put himself in harm's way to protect his family and friends.

Reagan is a strong women but has been in an abusive relationship for years. Its evident that she's always loved Lynx but for some reason she couldn't admit it. She has a hard time admitting it but you can see her walls crumble. Lynx has proven his devotion to her and his community.

Along with their relationship, we are given the conclusion of this suspenseful series. Amy's ex is still causing havoc the community and the people in it. I liked how other Nicole Edward's characters make an apprentice in the book - cousin's, their wives and husband's. They helped create this interesting read

I received an ARC for a honest review.

After the shocking cliffhanger at the end of the first book I was desperate to read what happened. Lynx Caine does nothing by half measures. He protects everyone he knows and always will do what he can to ensure they are safe. It has been ten long years since he fell in love with Reagan. It took one kiss by the lake to hold him captive and to know she was the only one he would ever love. Standing in the background he watched silently as she fell in and out of a relationship with someone who didn't deserve her time or attention. He knows now is the time to make his move and ensure she is the only person that will be in his future. Reagan is done wasting time and she knows life is short. The only thing she wants is Lynx and she will push down every obstacle to finally be with the man she loves.

Lynx will do anything to keep Reagan safe and when her safety is threatened he sacrifices his time knowing nothing will happen to her.

The chemistry between the characters is explosive! I have read every single Nicole Edwards has written and they only get better. She draws you in and revisits other characters that were introduced in her previous series so you see how their lives have evolved.

I RECEIVED AN ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. Hard to Handle is the continuation and completion of the Caine Cousins series by Nicole Edwards. We got to meet Lynx and Reagan in Hard to Hold and I could tell from that book, these two had deep history and wanting each other, but it was never right place, right time. In Hard to Handle – it’s definitely right time and right place and their chemistry EXPLODES.

Reagan and Lynx find themselves tied up in the hunt with Wolfe and Rhyse for Amy’s ex, who continues to threaten her life, no matter what gets in the way. Reagan is fiercely independent and doesn’t feel that she should let Lynx, or anyone, help her. Lynx is the one person in Embers Ridge that rallies the town to help anyone in need. Finding themselves together, Lynx and Reagan give into the longing they’ve had for each other since they were in high school, and Lynx takes her in every way to prove to her that she is meant to be his. Throughout the book, we get resolution to Amy’s issues with her ex and we get the pleasure of catching up with all of the Walker Brothers, the crew from Dead Heat Ranch, Sniper 1 Security and the Southern Boy Mafia. For Nicole Fans – this books is icing on the cake of a great book! I’m only wishing she would continue the series!

4 Star review of Hard To Handle (Caine Cousins #2) by Nicole Edwards

This is the second and final book in Nicole Edward’s exciting Caine Cousins
series set in the small town of Embers Ridge.

Although not necessary, for a better enjoyment of Hard To Handle I would suggest that you read book one, Hard to Hold prior to reading this book as it picks up where the fir st book left off.

Both Lynx and Reagan have been in love with each other for years, (ever since they kissed when she was a teenager) although circumstances have always kept them apart. However now that she is finally available, Lynx decides it's time to take matters into his own hands and pursue her with determination.

I would have to say that of the two cousins Lynx intrigued me the most; a bad boy with a heart of gold. His love interest Reagan certainly gives him a run for his money and doesn't make it easy for Lynx to finally claim his girl.

It was interesting to see a few characters from Ms. Edwards other series make appearances as Lynx fights to protect the woman he loves.

In Hard to Handle, Nicole Edwards also wraps up the drama and danger that surrounded Wolfe, Amy and Rhys.

I look forward to seeing what Ms. Edwards has in store next.

I received this book for a honest review. After reading the first book in the series, Hard to Hold, I knew Lynx was going to be amazing when his story was told. He is a tattooed bad boy who loves to fight, not for himself but mostly defending others. The man inside is kind, true to his word and will defend his family and his woman. All he has to do is get the very stubborn Reagan to let her guard down and admit what she feels for him. And when they come together, it is explosive. Reagan is so stubborn but when she finally comes to Lynx she is all in. The back story in the two books was better than I ever expected. Kudos to Nicole Edwards. To all her fans that love all her books and can't get the Walker family out of their heads, hang on because your are in for a surprise. and bring on the famous Max Adorite. I can not express how much I loved this book, both the main story line with Lynx and Reagan and the story that followed the first book. When characters came in from other series I was so amazed at how Nicole Edwards really knows what her fans love. A must read series. Do yourself a favor and read all her books, you wont be disappointed.
