Man who commits crime is bothered that law enforcement had the audacity to inconvenience him and pursue him over said crimes. Man is even more bothered that his father, who committed even more crimes, was harassed by law enforcement who took issue with his crimes. In fairness, I don't blame him for wanting to correct the narrative around his father. Especially since, if you believe this book at all, he wasn't really a bad guy. Just wish they had focused a bit more on the basketball aspect of the story.
Keeping in mind the biased nature of the author, (son of Ed Martin) it was very interesting to hear the other side of the Fab Five story. Quick moving and definitely not pulling any punches, The Booster seemed to fly by, however it is curious whether Ed or Carl ever perceived that they actually did anything wrong. As a side bonus, an education into the street lottery known as The Numbers was provided in depth. Definitely worth reading.
