The life thread is an alien material that consumes and destroys planets and Ragyo Kiryun wants to push that agenda, but Ryuko Matoi and her scissor blade plan to cut through the life thread and save humanity.
This is a great book because it’s so weird and obscure in fact nothing I have read even came close to it. This manga also shows beautiful scenes and shows emotion, all the characters have a 3d personality, unlike most manga. This manga is even better for people who are native to Japanese because most of the secrets and hidden meanings were lost in translation. Although I sing this manga praise there are still things that can be critiqued. First, like all manga Kill la kill as many others have way too much filler, In the manga in the middle of the most impactful fight, it cuts to Ryuko’s best friend eating fried croquets. This manga has a serious problem with plot development either they are pacing at godspeed or as slow as a snail, for example, in 2 pages it reveals the biggest plot developments, and the next 60 barely release any new information. Terrible but not really ending, this manga has a beautiful ending that is was so good I cried, but I felt empty knowing just the main plot was wrapped up. There is too much sexualization, some scenes are too much even for japan and that’s saying something. In the later chapters, the art style becomes more gloomy and there is no apparent reason for the shift. finally, the last 2 problems are translations and confused ideas. The author makes the best most unexpected plot twists but sometimes it changes the whole entire story. Finally, when this was translated into English they did a terrible job
I would give this series 5 stars. The demographic for this book is 15+, and people who have read a lot of manga. This is because most people who read this claim it’s bad because they compare it to the triple-A series.
