Super cute manga, but the stories weren’t overly complex. But, a good way to introduce manga to younger kids, especially if they are Disney fans. The artwork was very pretty’
2023 yılında ilk kitabım Disney'in yeni mangalarından Miriya and Marie oldu.
The story doesn't make any sense and there are a ton of plot holes... Ignoring the lazy story line, the art is quite amazing. My biggest problem with it is that my book goes from page 1 to 80 then back to 49 to 90 then jumps to 113 to the end. Did anyone else have this problem?
This book was quite bad. I really enjoyed the plot and would have loved to read a full manga about it but sadly that is not at all what happened. So the whole book is a ton of few page stories that sometimes make sense and sometimes don’t. There are quite a few stories that end in the middle of the story and don’t actually wrap anything up. There are also stories where Miriya is supposed to be accomplishing something or doing something and does something different yet is somehow told she did a great job and has amazing talent when she actually didn’t do what she is supposed to do. There were three random pages throughout the book of absolutely random characters being in Paris that had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the book or the other characters. Towards the end of the book I guess the author decided a book with some puzzles would be interesting because all of the sudden ever story or so had a random quiz or puzzle for the reader to do and answers on the bottom of the page or another page. I was extremely disappointed in this book. I had high hopes for it and was greatly interested in the plot but this book reads like a bunch of pitches or ideas someone had that they then need to turn into actual stories or into books. I really don’t know how this got published like this but I would definitely not recommend it.
I'm still not sure how I feel about this book. Based off of Aristocats my hind foot...since when was Marie magical and could create witch powers? Also This book also deals a lot with cute/hot boys. Seriously? This just didn't seem like a Disney book and seemed very over the top to be about vanity and very vain itself. The story line jumped all over the place, you got about four pages per story before it went on to a new chapter, and the book spanned two years (one year seemed to literally happen in four pages.....) Very weird book, not impressed.
This thing is a mess. I can only presume that it was written in a serial form and compiled here, but even then things are so disjointed that's its just bad. The art work is ok. Sometimes it's really nice and other time I want to cry in fear that a human toothed cat is going to eat me in my pink nightmares. Points for full color? It's also hyper stereotypical girly. Which can be a dash off putting. I also don't know why Disney approved something that so... does not match their style. And seriously has nothing to do with the one Disney character they ported over. This thing is a mess.
this must be the pinkest book I've ever read - so incredibly adorable and pretty. I didn't like Leo, he was a jerk, and his age is no excuse. little boys can be polite and kind, so there was no reason for him to treat Miriya like garbage than spout off about how much he has always loved her at the end. whatever.
otherwise - this is so so gorgeous to look at, and a cute story in that goofy Disney manga fashion.
The graphics in this are really the only reason why I rated this with two stars. It’s obviously aimed towards children and a demographic much younger than I am. However, with that being said, even a child would be confused with all of the jumping this manga does. You’re transported from one scene to the next by almost shock force. The story has very poor writing that feels extremely rushed. For a story that had quite a bit of potential, it was really sad to read.
This is a cute story involving Marie from the Aristocats. Marie comes to Japan to pick up Miriya to take her back to 1910 Paris to train her to be a witch. This was such a cute story. And it was very girlie in the art. Pinks and purples were the main colors in this but it definitely worked well.
This is a cute manga, full of episodic chapters. The story does have a bit of a broader ARC, but I wouldn't say there's full-blown character development. This is kind of just a cute, fun read that features Marie from the Aristocats in a new magical adventure as she teaches a young girl magic. It's cute. If you just want something light and kawaii with a Disney flavor, this will be a good choice.
This is a really cute one shot manga with gorgeous full color illustrations. The story is pretty silly and not that original, somewhat stilted, too, but I do love the art and I think little girls who are fans of Marie from the aristocats will love seeing her in this manga.
Very cute, wonderful for kids. Even includes puzzles!
The story is very cute. Not deep at all. Any problem presented gets solved within the next 5 pages. It’s entirely colored and the art is adorable. There is even fun puzzles for kids to pass time with within the stories!
Cute Disney Manga about Miriya, a young girl who learns that she is a witch. Her trainer is a cat named Marie who whisks Miriya off to Paris to take lessons in magic. Good for ages 8/9 and up
4.5. This book was a little boring at the beginning and a little confusing. However, once you got more into the book it got better. It was very cute however.
This made absolutely no sense. Why was the text in color? What was the story? Why does it look like it was drawn by a middle schooler? How can I be compensated for spending time reading this?
The artwork is adorable but the story is honestly garbage. There's nothing inspired by The Aristocrats movies at all they just used one of the characters to make a magical girl manga. 👎🏻
I never heard of Miriya and Marie. It reminds me a little bit of Harry Potter. A girl (Miriya) finds out that she is a magician. With her new cat Marie, she learns to use magic. But the manga is very confused. It switches so often. And you don't see how Miriya really learns to do magic. And then is there a second story about Maya in the book and that makes it a little weird.
I love Disney. And I like Comics and Mangas, but this, hm... 🤷♀️
