Growing up in San Francisco’s oldest running antique bookshop, Nicole Starling has spent her life surrounded by fairy tales and legends. But she was never sure if she really believed any of her eccentric family’s wild stories until the day that a mysterious stranger moved into the apartment upstairs. Once look and Nicole knows there’s more to the dangerously handsome stranger than meets the eye…and now she’s determined to be the one who finds out exactly what it is.
Exiled from the Fae Realm for crimes against the crown, Shay Madrid has given up hope that he’ll ever return home. Now all he wants is to live out the rest of his days in peace and quiet…but it seems the dark-eyed beauty who runs the shop downstairs has other plans. And though he knows that nothing good can come from getting closer to her, he can’t quite find the will to push her away.
But when Shay’s old enemies show up at Nicole’s door, he knows that they’re both in terrible danger, and the only chance they have of making it out alive is by putting their hearts and souls on the line.
*** Part thrilling fantasy, part romantic comedy, and filled with plenty of action, JINN is the third novel in the Exiles of the Realm paranormal romance series.
I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book for forever. It’s been well over a year since I have anyway.
I adore Adrienne Bell’s books and her writing. She never disappoints. I will read anything she writes.
Her male characters are always so alpha and her female characters are always so strong and witty.
He didn’t like to be challenged. Too bad. She didn’t like having her independence steamrolled.
So far I’m enjoying this series. This one is my least favourite so far but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
At first I wasn’t so sure about the paring but then the chemistry was there.
”I’d like to stay with you.” “And I’d like to be free.”
“Love was love no matter who shared it.”
Also, I just want to mention how much I love Fenrir and Emily’s parts (since the first book) and I am pleasantly waiting for their book.
The only slight negative is that I wish the story had more context. As in delving more into the characters and having them get to know each other more, while telling more of their back story.
I was very excited to see the third book in the series published. While this one is also fun and witty, it seemed to lack the depth of the previous two. Perhaps it was because I enjoyed the interaction of all the characters in the first two books in this series, and this one mainly focuses on the main characters. The storyline is very interesting, and keeps you on your toes. Overall a great, fun, fast read. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Ok, I really enjoy this author, but I was a bit hesitant with the whole fantasy detour, so it took me ages to start reading the Exiles series. Then I read book one and went, ok, this is not what I expected and I'm extremely happy I tried. So you'd think by book three I'd have learnt to stop being hesitant! But no lol!! I mean, genies are next level from thieves and hunters right? But once again this author proved how wrong I was to hesitate.
This story was fantastic! As with the others, it's firmly grounded in Realm beings discovering human experiences. The hero is such an incredible being, and yet the heroine is next level.
This series just has it all. Adventure, heart (so much heart! I've needed tissues for every book so far!), heat, and the happiest of endings.
While you could possibly read standalone, it's so much better to read this as a series. At the time of writing, there are still two books in the series that are outstanding, and I can't wait to see what happens next. But in the meantime, very happy and will probably re-read a few times haha!
Shay is a jinni, powerful, clever, dark. Nicole is a bookstore owner by day, magic book keeper by family.
When evil fae soldiers come to destroy Shay because he’s a threat to the king of the Realm, Nicole uses the book to help him. So begins the complicated task of figuring out how to defeat this fairy advisor to the king, and Nicole uses a wish to have Shay help her keep the store safe.
As their souls mingle, their initial attraction also does, but they’re reluctant to follow their hearts because they know there’s no turning back.
Lots of power and clashes, passion and depth. Great third book of the series.
No plot spoilers No potential triggers There are a few grammatical errors but it doesn't kill the book. There is just one sex scene and no swearing that I can recall. To obtain the best read it's better to start at the very beginning with the Macmillan security series, where we are introduced to Hook for the first time. The characterisation is okay, enough to keep you turning the pages. It's a light read meant to take you away from everyday life for a little while. I will be purchasing the next book in this series because I want to see how it continues but what I really want to read is Fenrir's story which will be the last in the series after Mage.
It’s been a year and patience was never a strong suit. I’m waiting for Merlin’s story. I’m waiting for the return of Hades. I’m waiting to see how the newest exile finds love.

Ok we’ve seen James find family, we’ve seen the hunter meet up with true courage, and finally we’ve felt the impossible become possible. Don’t keep me hanging.
Another great book in the Exiles of the Realm series. This one had so much feeling and emotion and loved the way Shay could feel Nicole's soul and all her wants and needs. And learned what love was all about. I am seriously addicted to it now and hope the author gets the next out out soon!
As good as any of her books, which is saying a lot. I felt like the plot got a little rushed at points, but not to the point of losing my interest. Great book!
Shay and Nicole's story was exciting even amount of suspense and a wonderful love story too I loved that I was able to read about the other characters in the book excited to read the other book Mage .Does Fenrir and Emily get their story?
