Kendell and Pauline team up with Felicity and her team of private investigators to figure out why someone would kill a local artist. It doesn’t take long for them to realize that there is more to this artist than they thought. It’s not going to be an easy investigation to say the least.
This is two different cozy mystery series getting together to solve one murder. It’s the sixth book in the Flight Risk Mysteries, but they get much help from the crew of the Senoia Cozy Mystery series. The author does a great job of combining two casts of characters and giving us an intriguing mystery to figure out.
I haven’t read the Senoia series yet, but I do enjoy the Flight Risk books. They are quick reads with fun characters and intriguing plots. I’m looking forward to Kendell and Pauline's next great adventure.
A Fantastic cross-over between the author's two series that keeps you turning pages and yearning for the next books in each!
Book 6 in one of my favorite series! After an adventure and solving a murder in Mississippi, Pauline decides she must return to Senoia, Georgia with Kendall to help her granddaughter, Felicity accept happiness and move on with her life. This side trip is a respite before their next travel adventure in France. This book is a wonderful crossover between the author's Senoia Cozy Mystery series, with Felicity Overton as the main character and the Flight Risk Cozy Mystery series with Pauline and Kendall as the main characters. While visiting with Pauline's family there is a murder that Felicity, Pauline and Kendall get involved with solving, along with Pauline's little pup, Dot. So, Felicity and her ex-boyfriend, Jack her PI partner upstairs from her catering business with boyfriend, Jefferson together with her grandmother, Pauline and friend Kendall join forces to solve the mystery involving art, fraud and murder! There are many openings left at the end that calls for some fantastic followups in both series!!! Can't wait. I received and ARC but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
In this book Pauline, Kendell and Dot meet up with Felicity and the gang at Overton Events. Later on there is a silent auction that has many things going on at it that Felicity and Jefferson planned to make it an entertaining event for all. There are two artists that cannot stand each other. Tim and Barbara. Tim does wields sculptures and Barbara does paintings. There is no love lost between these two people even before this event. A Ms. Lark, is outbidding everyone on Barbara's paintings....all of them. She is only bidding on Barbara's work. Later on, there is a scream, and Barbara is found dead outside in the bushes. Later on Barbara's will is read to the public. She left everything to her stepson,Lonnie. Shelton is left with nothing from his mother. Something seems off here. It doesn't make sense that Barbara would cut her own son out of her will in favor of her stepson. You won't believe what Felicity, Pauline, Kendell and Dot discover when they go to Barbara's house! What was it? Read the book to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This book is a crossover between Susan Harper's Flight Risk and Senoia mysteries, and since I'm not familiar with the cast of characters from Senoia, it makes this book somewhat confusing. Also, there's not enough Dot in the story -- the cute little dog needs more screen time. For fans of all of Susan Harper's work, this will probably be a much more interesting books, but for me, it was an ok cozy mystery. The character development for Kendell, and the look at why elderly Pauline wants to be the next Miss Marple, keep this book entertaining.
I don't know if the author reads her reviews but if she does i have a few tips. I really enjoy her cozy mysteries but there are a few things that drive me nuts. I really feel that it would not take much for this author to go from a good writer to a great one. But some observations. She has a tendency to overuse the same descriptive words. I lost count of how many times Kendall "smirked" in this story. It got annoying and also painted Kendall as an arrogant, self-centered character. As a result i have started to intensely dislike her. Unfortunate because i want to be able to cheer for the main character. The author would also do well do invest in some research in investigation police procedure since she is a mystery writer. There are so mant things glaringly off that it takes away from the story. I realize my review sounds negative, but the truth is i really enjoy this author and see her potential. Am hopeful that partial comments and feedback will help her develop and continue to write books that get better and better as she goes.
An exciting cross over, combination case of both the Flight Risk cozy series and the Senoia Cozy series. Before continuing on their world tour adventures, which have been nothing but troubled times and fun adventure so far, Kendell and Pauline take a brief break to visit with Pauline's granddaughters. One of whom, Felicity Overton, is a party event planner with a nose for investigation. She had dreams of being a writer and turned her talents into working as a P.I.
What happens when her crime attracting grandmother comes home for a visit? Murderous fun! The setting is an art show and it does not take long before disaster strikes. This is a true case of bad family relationships. Once again secrets are revealed and motives are multipled.
I never imagined when I started this series that Ms. Harper could surprise me with the hidden history of one of the main characters but she did. We find out that Miss Pauline is the grandmother of another favorite character, Felicity Overton of Overton investigations and party planners. Together they will solve the "mystery of the museum". Even little Dot gets in on it. I really love Ms. Harper cozy mysteries. I received an advance copy of this book and choice to review it.
Another fantastic mystery adventure. Kendall and Pauline arrive in Georgia and have delayed their trip to Paris. Pauline wanted time to visit with her family before returning to her adventures. They arrive just in time to help solve a murder mystery. During this sixth adventure, Kendall decides she needs a change in her life and begins thinking of options.
This book combines both the Senoia mysteries and the flight risk mystery characters. It is fun to see how the interaction between the two series plays out. Really enjoy both series and this was a special treat to read. Both series have wonderful characters, people you would like to know in real life. Have to laugh at Pauline and Dot though, they are just so hilarious. If you like cozy mysteries, this is a book for you.
Love the duel characters from the Senoria series and the Flight risk clan. I hope the author does more with Pauline and her family. I also detect a possible series spin off with Kendall traveling the world while she blogs. Good plot, interesting characters, especially dot, and a fun story. A good read for all cozy mystery lovers.
Senoia,Georgia beckons as Pauline wants to check on her granddaughter. Once again the intrepid trio becomes involved with murder! In this story Dot actually saves the day! A good story line that involves murder, fraud and art!
Love this series. Kendell and Pauline get involved in some sort of mystery in each port they land in as they travel around the world. This time they stop in Georgia to visit Pauline's family. This is a crossover between this series and the Senoia series. Two great series together.
Kendall, Pauline and died so if another mystery together.
I’m beginning to feel even closer to these characters. They were old friends. I’m enjoying reading about their adventures, they’re very believable. Enjoy
Loved this book and the way the author seamlessly mingled her characters from her Senioa Coz Mystery series with those from her Flight Risk series. Her brilliant idea leaves her teaders with a book double the fun! Highly recommend.
I love this cross over. I like how Kendall is developing. I like the mystery. The who was obvious long before the why. I liked both The who and the why. And the two women are off again for another adventure. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Two of my favorite series joined together for one great book! The author did a wonderful job blending two series into one. The end had a huge surprise twist I did not see coming. Great mystery!!
Book six and I can't wait to get the next one if you like a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this series by Susan Harper is a must read
