Roomies With Benefits was a Brother’s Best Friend storyline by Amy Brent.

Abigail and Ian had known each other since childhood. Ian was Abigail’s brother’s best friend. Abigail was in between jobs and dodging a stalker while Ian was tired of one night stands and needed a roommate. It was the perfect set up.

I really liked both characters and the premise of the storyline. It moved a little too quick for me in the beginning and I craved more development and depth - but I liked the story none the less.

As to Abbigail’s family - they were horrible. I hated every interaction. They were mentally abusive and it was in no way acceptable. And I didn’t buy into their conclusion. Although the storyline itself was focused on Ian and Abigail, there should have been so much more development within the family conflict. Additionally, there were several editing errors, including incorrect names at one point.

Otherwise, take away the errors and the family interactions and I enjoyed Ian and Abigail’s story.

You can’t help but feel so bad for Abigail especially how her brother and her mother treat her but Abigail is determined to make something of herself. Abigail & Ian, ugh they are so adorable and sexy and of course hiding there true feelings for each other. Zach( Abigail brother and Ian’s best friend) don’t want them together but all the sneaky around that they are doing eventually comes out. Abigail & Ian will have you glued to your kindle that you will not want to stop reading.

Roomies With Benefits
Down on her luck Abby needs a break. She's lost her job, she's been walking the street handing out her resume but with no luck and she's being evicted. Add in her douchebag of a ex boyfriend stalking her.
Ian needs to find a room mate so when his best friend Zach mentions that his sister Abby needs somewhere as she being evicted, he asks her to move in and soon he's noticing how beautiful she is.
Abby's always had a crush on Ian and with Jason stalking her again she needs a fake fiancee, will Ian help her and can they keep it strictly fake?
This is another great book by Amy Brent. It has fake fiancee, brothers best friend, friends to lovers and will keep you gripped from beginning to end!

Unfortunately I could not get past the 1st chapter and DNF. The writing seemed fine , so it doesn't get 1 star, but this was a big issue for me - the formatting of this kindle book. On each page there was maybe only 1/4 to 1/3 of writing compared to regular books - eg. One sentence at the top, a huge space then a small paragraph, then another huge space then a few more lines. This went on and on - every page. Completely unreadable and disconcerting. My thought - was this done to get maximum pages read for KU??? (which I am not a member of, by the way) Unfortunately what I read wasn't interesting enough for me to face the challenge of turning pages at the speed of light, so it was on to the next book. (PS - Got my money back from Amazon and reported a formatting error)

In the beginning of this story there are a few places where the character names are swapped. Ian was thinking about Zach, but soon Zach's name was replaced by Ian's. It was a little confusing. The spacing of the text is also strange in the kindle version.

As for the characters, Abbies mom and brother are judgmental asses. I really hated them. They didn't move the story along at all, other than causing stress in people's lives. I liked Abbie other than the way she handled her stalker. It was dumb ignoring it the way she did. I really liked Ian and Britt.

The heights of slut shaming in this book by the h's own brother and mother...and her being the good girl she even forgive them and theres no scene where the family apologized - just implied...and what kind of person who claims to love the girl doesnt say a word to the h's brother who was H's bestie anything like seriously..very disappointing

Abigail: Twenty five years old, recent graduate, unemployed and soon to be evicted.
Ian: Thirty year old playboy, personal trainer, best friend with Zach, Abigail's brother.

When Ian hears from Zach that Abigail is about to be evicted he offers to take her in since his roommate recently moved out. Zach gives him Abigail's number and Ian calls her.

Abigail is hesitant but doesn't want to move back in with her parents. Her father is a loving man but her mother is a mean spirited, verbally abusive human being.

Abigail accepts Ian's offer and is moved in the next day.

In the turmoil of losing her job, searching for a new job unsuccessfully and being evicted, her ex boyfriend, Jason, has shown up in her life again and not in a good way. In the mean time, Ian and Abigail have become 'Roomies with benefits' but this is strained because they decide to keep it hidden. OH! All while pretending to be engaged to drive away Jason.

What could go wrong? Or is it so right that everything turns completely around for the struggling Abigail.

The emotions that were elicited from this story were intrigue, annoyance, anger over the verbal abuse from a parent and even from the brother, aggravation of two adults not communicating openly and also happiness.

I will say that the feelings from Ian were written as a bit questionable. I never really got the true love feeling from him, but that could be because I wanted so much more story of the relationship between Ian and Abigail and where they ended up years later.

Opinions and words are my own and unbiased in this review after reading an Advanced Reader Copy.

Abigail comes home from handing out resumes to find out that she's being evicted. Upset she calls her friend to talk. Ian is out with his best friend Zach (Abigail's brother) and learns that she is going to have to move in with their parents because she doesn't have a job and is about to lose her home. Ian offers a solution to her brother but Zach is against it. Ian offers Abigail to move in and be his room mate he'll cover the costs until she gets a job and she can repay him in installments. Abigail is stunned when Ian calls with the offer and agrees to meet him the next day. The only family not being hateful to Abigail is her father so she knows going home to stay will be awful so she accepts Ian's offer. Abigail's ex is back in town and has started stalking her again so she lies and says she's engaged when Ian learns what's going on he agrees to pretend to be her fake fiancé and she can be his to stop his client's at the gym from hitting on him. Things are going great between them and the sexual tension explodes when Ian walks into the bathroom and see Abigail naked. What happens when feelings get into the mix and things start getting real between them? What will her brother do if he finds out?

This was a great story and will keep your attention from beginning to end. The chemistry between Ian and Abigail sizzles with each page turn. This is an entertaining and a well written story. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story.

 From Friends To Lovers

Ian's roomie has left and he is looking for a new one.  he hear's that Abigail, his best friend Zach's little sister, is having to move out of her apartment and has also just lost her job.  As Abigail is his friend and Zach sees the sense of this as Ian will fund her lodging till she gets a new job she moves in.  But Jason, her creepy stalking ex, is back in the area so Abigail says that she is engaged to Ian.  he goes along with this fake engagement as it keeps the women at his gym at a safe distance.  How long will they have to maintain their fake engagement?  How will Jason react to finding out that Abigail is now engaged? As there has always been an attraction between Abigail and Ian, will they be able to keep their distance from each other?  Bearing in mind that this book has been written by Amy Brent, we should all realise that their is going to be  a HEA, no cheating and lots of sizzling, passionate scenes where our hero and heroine are going to 'discover' their love for one another.  Amy's wit and sense of humour shines through the story and it is so easy to love these two and want them to have their HEA - but will Zach get in their way?? I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.  However, as I enjoyed the book and to sup[port the author I have purchased my own copy of it so I can also read all the bonus stories this bank Holiday Weekend, including the exclusive one, Baby Fever.

Most Definitely Recommended!!!

Loved it!

Another great sexy read from one of my favorite authors Amy Brent. This book has it all danger, love, sneakiness and hot sex! Yep! A perfect collection of emotions to create a wonderful recipe for romance.

In this story Abigail is down on her luck. She has been jobless for a month, rent is late and now she is being evicted. To make matters worse, her stalker ex-boyfriend has shown up and is back to his old tricks again.

Ian is tired of the playboy life. It is meaningless and he is ready to settle down. When he hears of his best friend Zach's little sisters predicament he jumps to help. His roommate has just moved out and he has the room. Besides they have known each other forever and he has always liked and enjoyed her company. But when a fake engagement to protect both of them comes to head with her brother it may just tear them apart. Will they be able to friends when all this is over?

Man this book was excellent. It had a wonderful story plot and it had a bit of danger to make it even more intriguing. The main characters are hot and just perfect for each other. Ian is hot, sexy and the perfect protector. Abigail is sweet and strong, but really I don't know how she deals with her family. I really wanted to knock them out. What assholes. This book flowed smoothly and never felt rushed. It is a quick read that was hard to put down. A toe curling adventure that is sure to make your heart soar.

What to say.... I got wrapped up in this book and completed it all in one day. I would think that alone should tell you something. I loved that this story and it actually had a plot instead of just the hot sex scenes, it had real life challenges, plus the added romance. I could relate to Abigail, at least when I was younger maybe in my 20’s. Although it is all make believe since I have never met a girl get so down on her luck and yet everything turn out just as perfectly has hers did. But this story had you cheering for Abigail and Ian, it made you fall in love with this sweet guy and wanted nothing more than to see her end up with him.

The only thing I could really think of that I would have liked in this book, is for the story to have been longer. This was a great read and it kept my attention, it was hard to put it down. Even when it was time for me to go to the gym I decided to read while on the treadmill. I have never read anything by Amy Brent, but I think I have found a new author and cannot wait to read another one by her.

If you like romance and love stories, I strongly recommending reading this book.

Overall, I was not as impressed with this book. I did not get the passion that I enjoy in the books I look for. There relationship did not build very well throughout the book. I would have liked to see a little more one on one time between Abigail and Ian. There was great potential for the book but it just did not deliver in the end.
Also, what was with the family? They were horrible and then the next minute acted as though nothing had happened. It was so strange and made the story even harder to delve into. There was so much more that could have been done on the Jason front as well. But again I felt it did not live up to the potential. There was a very good friendship throughout the book between Abigail and Brittany and I enjoyed reading those sections.
In all honesty it took a lot for me to finish this book. I would not recommend it as a purchase option but rather as a share or a kindle unlimited. There just was not enough development of the plot of the characters to make it worth the buy. I hope that in the future my readings of this author will be more enjoyable.

First off, the Kindle version finishes at 12% in! 12%!!!! The rest is other books, which I have not read.

I enjoyed the story. Parts of it were a little cliché, but it was still enjoyable.

The friendships/relationships in this story were real and raw.
There were times when I really hated Zach. He was beyond mean to his sister. However, I do get that he only wants what is best for her and was reacting to some news. I guess that's what big brothers do (I wouldn't know, only have a little sister). I'm glad he could forgive Ian for the sake of his relationships with his family members.
Abigail's mom was downright mean to her. Again, I understand where it's coming from, she wants Abby to turn her life around, but there were probably better ways to handle things.

I'm glad things worked out well in the end. However...I wish Abby's pregnancy wasn't what caused everyone to come together (although I understand it is realistic). I wish her mother and brother realized that she was trying her hardest to get her life back on track and she did love Ian. But again, everything worked out in the end.

Good story. May read the others included in the Kindle version.

Amy has again written a story that captivates you in such a way that you can't but the book down. Unemployed Abigail is about to be evicted. Despite the fact that Abigail has been relentlessly looking for work she has been unsuccessful. She is fed up with everyone thinking she is childish, undependable and not really trying to find a job. Zach, Abigail's brother is Ian's best friend and Ian just happens to have a free bedroom. Ian offers Abigail the room in his apartment until she can get back on her feet. Abigail has had a crush on Ian for years and she wonders if moving in with Ian is such a good idea. Abigail also has her ex boyfriend stalking her. The chemistry between Ian and Abigail is undeniable and they soon become roomies with benefits. Is there more to their relationship than sex? What will happen when Zach finds out? Can Ian keep Abigail safe from her creepy stalker ex? “Roomies with Benefits” is a romantic, emotional, heart-felt story. Don't miss out. Give this superbly written book a try.

I really enjoyed this brother’s best friend/roommate/fake fiancé/surprise baby romance. This had a bit of everything and it was well done. Abigail has had a rough month: she lost her job, hasn’t had any success with the many applications and resumes she’s sent out, gotten an eviction notice, and her stalker ex is back in town. The girl needs a break! Enter Ian, her big brother’s best friend. He’s looking for a new roommate and he wants to help Abigail. He ends up pretending to be her fiancé to discourage her ex. Abigail’s had a crush on Ian for years and Ian’s come to realize that she’s grown into a very attractive and sexy young woman. They’re both adults and neither wants to hurt her brother Zach—what could go wrong? What happens when this fake engagement starts to feel like a whole lot more? 5 out of 5 stars Perfection

Abigail is evicted after being 2 weeks late on her rent. It's not like she hasn't been pounding the pavement and she is not habitually late but it is what it is. She'll have no choice but to move in with her parents...Or does she. Ian is Abigail's brother's best friend since childhood. In fact Ian has known Zach longer than Abigail has since they are 5 years her senior. Upon hearing about Abigail's plight, Ian offers her his ex roommate's recently vacated room. It seems like a perfect since she REALLY doesn't want to live with her mother. If only they can keep their hands off each other because Zach would hit the roof otherwise. Throw into the mix a stalker ex boyfriend and Amy Brent has hit the formula for perfect reading!!

Just another reformed manwhore story

The book started off well. I had no issues with Abigail, and her friend Brittany was cool. The conflict of Jason was a good add-in, but the main male character goes on about how he could bend this chick into all kinds of positions but didn't want to. He was saying stuff about his one night stands. Settling down now doesn't make him a good person and it doesn't erase the one night stand disgustingness. I know people think different things about sex, but sex is a very intimate thing and does not belong between or among people not committed to each other. I can't finish reading this book because the guy is gross. Others who think differently than me may not be bothered by this and may love the book, so don't let my review talk you out of reading it.

Another great book by author Amy Brent.

A forbidden romance (who made up that rule anyway?) for Abigail and Ian.
Abby has had it bad for Ian for a long time but as the rules go, no going after your brothers best friend. But when Abby's life goes astray, Ian steps in to help her. He has hidden his attraction to Abby also yet her family is not there to support her and this is his in, although he swears not to act on the attraction.

Best intentions never work out the way we plan them and things work out for the best in the long run but what a ride it is watching them squirm under the eyes of everyone around them.

A sweet, sexy, and steamy read all in one. Fun with a bit of naughty. It's everything a girl could want to read.

Another Great Story by Amy Brent! Abigail needs a place to live, thanks to being evicted from her apartment and she really does not want to move back home. Ian's roommate has recently moved out and he is looking for someone to move in. When Ian learns that Abigail needs a place to live from his best friend, Abigail's brother, he quickly let him know that she is welcome. It seems every time Abigail goes out, her ex shows up. She tells him she is engaged, but that doesn't seem to deter him. Abigail has had a crush on Ian for years and Ian has had his eye on Abigail, but will they open up to each other finally admit their feelings? This is a short, fun read, but well worth your time! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great love story

I loved this story. The connection to the characters gave you the warm tingling feeling. I could see myself reading this again and again.
Overview. Abigail was going through a rough parch. She lost her job and now being evicted from her apartment wants helping. Her mother was mad, her brother was mad and she was doing everything she could to get back on her feet. But when Zack (her brother) tell his best friend since preschool Ian about Abigail's issues, Ian offers her a place to live. Ian and Abby start their roommates life style and love it but their attraction to each other builds and since Abby's ex, Jason won't leave her alone, they start a fake engagement. Then Abby's brother finds out its not fake and blows up. Will Ian and Abby find happiness?

Enjoyable well written story with nice storyline and plot. Likeable characters and they are well described. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. The twists and turns are unexpected.

Story flowed well of the pages. Steamy chemistry and passionate. Very captivating because of the well described story and writing style.

A story about surviving what fate throws at you. It has it all, friends to lovers, brothers best friend, fake fiancee and more themes and the story can have all this in it and still be an amazing read with lots of emotions and heart.
