Returning to this place was the last thing I had on my mind. But that was before I saw Maddie. The years changed her. Last time I saw her, she was my friend’s little sister. But now she’s something entirely different.
Off limits. Forbidden. A wild spitfire.
I can’t get her out of my mind. Not until I taste her on my tongue. Hear her breathe my name.
Getting her into my bed was the easy part. Getting her pregnant was just the start.
Neither of us could have prepared for what came next. But I’ll keep her—and our baby—safe.
It is a continuance from book to book. I am not a big fan of these types of books. The start of the book was slow and then when it gets to a happy medium it ends until the next book. I believe that books that are like this should have reasonable prices. I also think that it should noted somewhere in in the description that the book is continuous series.
Jace returned to his former MC after leaving and wandering around the US. When he learns his former high school rival is now president and his sister looks after the books, he is surprised. Maddie was bullied all through school by Jace and he often left her in tears. When Jace runs into Maddie at the store, he hits on her and asks her for a drink. She doesn't recognize Jace but she thinks he is hot. Maddie just ended an long relationship and doesn't want to be in another. Maddie does invite Jace back to her house. The next day, she sees him at the MC and realizes who he is. Maddie is angry and doesn't want to see him anymore. Jace wants to see her again, so he stays around hoping to change her mind. I liked this book, although I thought Jeremy was a jerk. Maddie and Jace could have worked things out, I think Jace grew up and was really sorry for how he treated her. Good one.
A great read, caught and held my attention through the entire story. Jace and Maddie have a long past and it’s complicated. When Jace comes back to town he sees Maddie and the attraction between them is instant, but they fight it for as long as they can. Finally they have a somewhat understanding with each other and that’s when Maddie come up pregnant..Jace is willing and eager to be in the child’s life but Maddie doesn’t want him. They come to the conclusions that the child is the main priority.
While the storyline was good, I was very disappointed that it ended before it barely even started. It’s a cliffhanger. I try to steer away from these small books since the last time I got sucked in by such a format it cost me about $75.00 to finish the story. I’m sorry to say I will not be finishing this story.
The trilogy is actually a book divided into three parts to earn more money. (A disease from which more contemporary authors suffer). It is a waste of money if you have to buy it part by part. The story is one of 13 in a dozen. I read the book last week and had to look at the summary to remember the story. The plot is too predictable, and the characters lack depth. Hasty work for the sole purpose of making money
Jace grew up in a motorbike gang (his father was a member, and his mother was out of the picture). As a young adolescent, he felt emotionally neglected by his father and took out his frustration on Maddie. After his father's death, he left for college and travelled around the US. Now he is back with his youth club to pay it a short visit (a few weeks). On the first day, he runs into Maddie, and the attraction is phenomenal. Maddie doesn't realise that Jace is the Jace who used to tease her, and they have a passionate night together. The next day Maddie knows who he is and wants no more contact, but Jace wants her in his bed just once more before moving on. So his stay is extended, and just as he gives up waiting (three months later), Maddie confesses that she is pregnant. What follows is push and pull, a colleague wooing/stalking Maddie, and a rival biker gang wants to kidnap her.
Been there, read it all before and already forgot about the plot kind of book.

I’m sorry but I am not going to give away any spoilers of any kind. So this is all I’m going to say about this book and that is it’s very very good and I’m going to leave it at that because if I say anymore I’ll be giving away spoilers. Brook Wilder is very good at her work of weaving awesome stories, which is probably why that every chance that I get I’m reading one of her books. So if you haven’t had the chance to read any of her work, well then might I suggest that you get this book and trying because I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed in your choice. So if you can’t tell that is a yes I most definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in reading a fantastic story!
Jace is back in town and needs a place to stay. Going back to his old MC, he realizes how much things have changed. When he runs into the girl he had once bullied in school, he can't believe the woman she has become. He sets his sights on her and wants to make a claim but how will Maddie feel when she realizes who Jace really is? When a secret is revealed, Jace knows Maddie could be in danger and he will do whatever it takes to protect what's his.
This was a well written and entertaining read. I can't wait to read more from this series.
This book is very enjoyable. I like the bantering between the two. I like how Jace changed from being a bully in childhood to a protector as an adult. I liked the way the book deals with this issue. Maddie is a firecracker and stands up for herself and she is fun to read about in the book. Jace is tough and sexy and he is interesting to read about. The chemistry between these two is hot, hot, hot!!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Sometimes the things we do in the past come back to kick you in the ass. But sometimes your past puts you into a direction you never thought you would go in for your future. While Maddie and Jace may have a not so nice past, that doesn't mean the future couldn't be nice. Especially if they can figure their situation out. Wonderful book Brook Wilder. Can't wait for the next Broken Hounds book.
Jace and Maddie, two people who knew each other as kids. Jace was a bully, Maddie was his target. Now she holds their childhood against him. Plus the fact she is now pregnant with his child. Story ends as Maddie goes in side her home, after being verbally attacked by a rival MC.
Best part of the book? It was a freebie. Not worth it to me to buy the others in the series.
The relationship between Jace and Maddie is definitely complicated as it’s full of tension, clashing personalities, and that love-hate pull you expect from an enemies-to-lovers story. While I enjoyed their dynamic, the overall plot felt pretty predictable, with few surprises along the way.
That said, it’s a quick, easy read for anyone who’s into biker romance and doesn’t mind knowing where the road leads before you get there.
Maddy and Jace went to school together but she was mercilessly bullied by Jace. Now he’s back in town but she doesn’t realize at first who he is as the years have changed them both. Once she finds out it’s hate at second sight! However by then she’s pregnant with his baby so where do they go from here? I enjoyed an advanced copy of this book and can’t wait for the next episode to be released.
He’s a bully and go treated her awful when he was a teenager. They meet up when they’re adults and he doesn’t tell her who he is but sleeps with her anyway. I didn’t take to his character at all! I think I would panic too if I slept with a bully from school. And don’t get me started on the marathon sex sessions!!!!!
Always love any book by Brook Wilder. This one was no different, kept me interested from start to finish. Really loved the characters and enjoyed the great story line. I received an ARC from the author.
Loved this book!! Couldn't put it down. Grabs your attention from the first page to the last. The story and characters were well written. If you love MC books I recommend that you read this book. Can't wait to read what she writes next.
Renegade by Brook Wilder This was a good way to start a new MC series, it had plenty of action and the story seemed to flow nicely. "I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review."
I loved it. I couldn't put it down. This author has done it again. They have written another great one. The story is so well written. The characters are great. The chemistry is very hot. This is a must read.
"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
This book is a romantic novel about Jace Howard and Maddie Lyman getting together with each other, but there are some things to work on first. This book is continuing to the next book in the series.
I dislike when authors start a story line but don't finish it in one book. This author is a good writer but leaves one hanging at the end of this short story I never would have read this story if I knew the ending wasn't included.
Awesome ! Loved Mandy and Jace’s story. I thought it was well written and the characters were greatly paired. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read
We meet a guy with a troubled past. He meets up with the girl he picked on in school. When she learns who he is xan she ever forgive him? What next for these two?
