D.J. Doyle was raised by pot-smoking hippies and spent her days worshipping pagan deities in the HellFire Club and her nights watching horror movies and reading horror books. She now lives with her family in a treehouse, preying on unsuspecting travellers, and where she likes nothing better than coming up with ideas for new stories and plotting her next novel. Some of this might have been made up. To learn more about D.J. For a short story, this sure does have a lot of packed into it. I hate spoilers and so I am finding it extremely difficult to write a good review that lets me hit on key points without giving anything away. But I will try. This story touches on the journey (emotional and literal) of a couple who are heading away for the weekend with their friends. On the way there things take an unexpected turn and things suddenly happen that throws what would have been an amazing weekend totally on its head.
This little short is a well written little gore fest and yet it has pinches of comedy in places. It is a quick read, which for me is ideal, and it delivers just the right amount of horror with a shocking twist at the end. I highly recommend.
This is an extremely quick read. I read it on my 10 minute bus journey into work.
It revolves around four friends and their journey to a romantic weekend away which takes a bloody turn as they’re attacked by zombies. It has a twist at the end that I didn’t expect!
If there's anything I love more than a good zombie story - it's an unexpected and brilliant twist. This little gem is no exception. Mixing horror and contemporary suspense, this short story is fast and packs a little punch but oh, is it LOTS of fun. A quick read that will stick with you after you finish and leave you wishing there was more. Pick up your copy today!

I’ve become such a fan of Doyle. I also tried this little short. What an ending! I didn’t expect that at all. If you like tales from the crypt or The Outer Limits, you’ll enjoy this little tale.
