This is a very good read. Lots of information and suspense. Some of this book takes place on land and some is on water and both ways are good reading. I love to be able to just relax and enjoy a book like this. I think it is the great writing. The plot is easy to follow. This book is one that I would call filler. It fills you up with hints about the trip on the water where the creatures are really dangerous and is just fun to read and relax. Angela's books are so long that you really get your money's worth from each book. It allows you to get involved a lot. The characters are really filled out and we learn a lot about the way they think. Even though I call it a filler it is still filled with excitement.
I love this series and all the related books, but this was by far a hard read. Normally I would read the next installment in a one or two session binge. This needs a re-editing by someone who can proofread. Just too many gaffes that stopped me dead in my reading flow. A wedding altar, not alter ( each time spelled wrong!) Some one acted like a genie, not a jeanie. There were many more like that, in each chapter. I am looking forward to the next installment in this saga, but please please have a final proofread before release. I dropped two stars for the oversights; would have been 4 stars otherwise.
Getting the early first release of a new book in the LAW series always has its good and bad points, but you know the book will never be boring, and you will wish the book didn't end so fast (and you will be chomping at the bit for the early release of the next book in the series, even though you know it will be full of errors). Angela White is a talented writer that is able to grab and hold a readers attention from the very first paragraph.
I left the premise, and the characters in the series. Ms White tackles some serious human nature issues while building an incredible apocalyptic setting for the drama to play out in. I only wish the editing was better. She loses a star for me because of all of the spelling, punctuation, and general grammar misses throughout the series. But don't let that stop you from taking an enjoyable ride along with Angela and her Eagles.
Great story about survival that makes one realize in an apocalypse only the strongest survive. Normal people don't have a chance. Sometimes the main character comes off as non-caring about anyone, even her own "chosen" people. Too black and white when there are many shades of gray in the world. Perhaps compromise is not possible in such a situation. My way or the highway attitude. The scary part is - this is exactly how people would act in a simular situation. Makes me sad for humanity.
I don't know whether to call them Angel children or Demon babies! I have loved this author since I found her in 2013. She writes a mean book! Oh and I don't know if this is a spoiler or not but Angie has inherited twins... a boy and girl. That look just like her... she lost a son first then a daughter... ijs
Another great part of the story. Loved it and how they made it out alive. Still not sure about the “killer kids” but I’m sure Angela has that all ready planned out. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to read the next installment.
I love, love, love this series. I feel like I have known these characters personally. I've laughed, cried and killed right along with them. This has been a bittersweet journey and am glad to know it's not over yet. I'm not sure that my heart can take it....Keep then coming Angela!
The race to the sea... will they make it and who goes who stays?
Book was a little too show for the first couple of hundred pages but picked up nicely. Characters keep developing, and works Kane like do see more on the Ciemus people and William.
Book 10 of this amazing post-apocalyptic series. Safe Haven left American shores for a brief 4 years on an island. They will grow, learn, heal and perhaps return.
I wait with baited breath for #11. The post apocalyptic book that entwines supernatural powers and a superstrong female leader that every woman longs to be.
The story continues, with this book provider greater detail of all facets related to the storyline. Safe Haven finally arrive at their ship and cast off toward the island. Now comes the hard part..., waiting for book 11. Almost forgot, this is a must read series for people who enjoy dystopian stories.
As always, Angela White has written another installment of the Life After War series that leaves you breathless with anticipation for the next one. One of the best series that I have found. PLEASE finish #11 soon, Angela!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
This was another epic instalment of a brilliant post-apocalyptic/fantasy series. Safe Haven is preparing to set sail to the island, away from America and its hate-filled refugees and the UN who wants to enslave them. The descendants continue to develop their powers in an attempt to save the 'sheep'.
There are battles, of course, not least those within, while some must grapple with the truth and 'grow up'.
This was a well-written story, very detailed, with a great sense of place, thoughts and feelings.
I enjoyed this marathon and am already reading the next.
The boat is on its way but the cost is tremendous.
This is the last two weeks before departure. The cost to Safe Haven is frightening. The children are most affected but Angela makes trades to try and protect them. Mark, Adrian, Ivan, and William have a pack to achieve a trade. Kendal get her wish ‘t want it. The children are turned loose to get their way. Fast moving, horrifying, and heartbreaking, but fascinating.
After a number of dark depressing books that still enthralled and kept HOPE flickering feebly in the background, Safe Haven has left the shores of America for a few years of peace and hope on their island.... Now, we wait to see if promises are kept. Fascinating series!!!
Noooo! I cannot wait for the next book. Intense. I was wanting more the second I started reading. Wow!!! Wow!!!! Wow!!! I loved it. Intense. I was wanting more the second I started reading. Kept me turning through the pages to see what happened next.
