This is the prequel to P.A. Vachon’s Bears in Love Series, and WOW. Marcus is the alpha of the bear clan in the previous books and so much of what happens in those books are a result of what happened to Marcus and his mate Lila. I loved getting to know Lila, who was still so present in the previous books. I was so excited at the end of the book and I was definitely not ready for the book to end. I can’t wait to see what P.A. Vachon comes up with in connection with this series.

This is a fast, emotional read about Marcus and his deceased mate Lila. If you were wondering how they met and what happened to her, then this is the perfect book for you. We also learn why Hatchet was such a jerk. Grab your copy and enjoy this look into Marcus and what made him the man he is today.

I bought a copy of this novella from the author at a book signing, and I was excited to read this one! The world of shifters to me is a new one, and quickly becoming a favorite. I really loved the insight into the world this author has created. The writing is fantastic and descriptive, and this quick, emotional read is one you won't want to miss.

I thought this was a very touching prequel. Marcus has been through so much with the loss of his mate and now raising his daughter, which I hope to see more of her in book 2. Can he fight off his friend from destroying his new life? We will see!
