This book has lots of twists, turns and surprises. We meet Rona who has had a lot happen to her , her past is heartbreaking. She has two men fighting for her (Clay and Jalen) and we see in this book who is the best man for her. I had hoped this would be a M/F/M but it was just a love triangle . I was rooting for Clay because Jalen was a jerk but Jalen did redeem himself. Jalen hires her to find an employee’s missing daughter and one thing after another they have this sizzling chemistry. Will Clay end up being the right man for Rona, the man to help heal her broken heart or will Jalen be the one whom she is meant to have her HEA with? This is a unique read and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Okay story. She has better ones.

First, this is one of her vanilla romances. I enjoyed it but the cover/title is a bit misleading. The protagonist is great, but her random dreams were repetitive and nonsensical. The "him" is a jerk. Her other stories have more well rounded characters.

Fantastic start... hoping the rest of the series is as good as this

Wow... what a great start to the follow-on series to M.S Parkers Pleasures Series.

When I read a brief preview, I didn’t realise that this series New Pleasures was going to be so closely linked to its predecessor. Based on how I absolutely loved the Pleasure Series, that was just the icing on the cake.

This book has a very similar feel. The main female character Rona is scarred, physically and emotionally by her own father... she witnessed her mother and neighbours being murdered and being almost fatally wounded herself. Growing up with her late lawyer Uncle, she’s made the most of the life she was spared and wants to put her passion to help other victims to good use.

She’s plagued by nightmares and seeks solace in the protective arms of her Uncles friend and her FBI trainer, Clay. It’s a purely friends with benefits arrangement that helps her unwind. But when her plans to join the FBI are thwarted by her past she has to reconsider her options.

She moves to Fort Collins, Colorado and joins a small Private Investigation company. Rona’s not expecting her work to be high profile... probably filled with trailing cheating spouses and minor security issues; surely nothing much happens in a small college town.

That is until she is approached by Jenna Archer (Pleasures series) She’s the wife of Rylan Archer, partner in a pioneering billion dollar tech company and local heroine. Survivor of a childhood of child prostitution and pornography - being pimped by her own mother to pedophiles and child molesters. Jenna managed to bring down the pedophile rings and perpetrators almost single handedly with her tech wizardry. Much to Rona’s surprise, Jenna wants to hire Rona’s services to search for her siblings. They instantly hit it off and start bonding over their similar experiences.

Whilst working on the case, she receives a visit from another local billionaire, Jalen. He needs her help to find Meka, the daughter of one of his employees that has gone missing. The police aren’t interested but her dad knows there’s something not right.

There’s an instant connection between them but Rona tries hard to stay professional. Jalen’s an impressive figure of a man... tall, dark and handsome with a air of kindness and respect. Time is of the essence and if she is going to find her, she needs to act quickly. When she’s collecting information and talking to the young girls’ school friends, Rona quickly realises that there’s more to her disappearance than just a teenage runaway.

But her investigation puts her in danger and when she is attacked, Jalen is the one to patch her up... but one thing leads to another and before they know, they’re having sex in her office. But it’s not all love heats and roses... and Jalen hotfoots it.

Unsure of what just happened Rona continues with the case trying to put their tryst to one side and focus on finding Meka. When her instincts lead her to discover a human trafficking ring, she knows she can’t take it on herself. The cops are useless and so running out of options, she approaches the one person she knows is as invested in finding Meka as she is. Turning up at Jalen’s door (although bumping into his ex-wife in the process) he puts in a much needed call to his contacts. While they await the outcome they talk and admit their attraction to each other and they end up back in each other’s arms and more! They can’t deny their desire for each other... the pull is too strong.

From here on in there’s a whole heap of situations and difficulties that they come up against which threaten to put their relationship under pressure... but I won’t give anymore away... it’s better to discover it for yourself. It’s well worth the read. Honestly though... if you haven’t already read it, I’d recommend you read the Pleasures Series to get the full benefit.

Can’t wait to read the next instalment right now... Played by Him. I just hope it doesn’t all start to unravel because I love this couple already!!

In this book we have Rona Quick. She is going to Columbia University, looking forward to graduation and starting a career. She has had a difficult teen years and now that she is in her early twenties she is thinking she is doing pretty good with her life now. She went to live with her Uncle Anton when she was a teenager and put most of her previous life behind her.

One on her uncle’s friends - Clay is in the FBI. He talks her into trying out for the FBI. Rona goes into the FBI traning camp. However, she doesn’t last but a few weeks. They uncover her past.

Rona heads out west to Fort Collins, CO just north of Denver, CO. Rona goes to work as a Private Investigator - PI. Her boss Adare Bukerheart is fantastic Rona loves working for her. Rona lives next door to the PI firm, she has a very short commute to work.

Rona takes on a case for a lady who is about her age to find her siblings her mother gave up, and most were adopted. Another case that comes in is from a handsome local, Jalen Larsen. Jalen is a tech billionaire who is relatively young, in his early 30’s. One of Jalen’s workers, Theo, his teenage daughter has been missing for a few days. Which is out of character for her. The police aren’t doing anything to find her, and Theo is beside himself with her missing. Rona takes on the case stating she will find the daughter.

Rona and Jalen start seeing each other. Although Clay is in her life they are just friends. Jalen doesn’t seem to like her friend Clay and doesn’t seem to understand their relationship.

This story does have its fair share of twists and turns. Rona has to let Clay and Jalen know about her past as it has come back to haunt her.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

In this suspenseful, well-plotted romance about mystery, drama, intrigue, suspense, kidnapping, and hot passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. The momentum of the story keeps you wanting to read more. Rona Quick had a tragic life, which brought on frightful nightmares and she thought her future is now frazzled. From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with—or not. I was enthralled with the characters of Rona Quick, Jalen Larsen, and Clay Kurth, her FBI friend. I particularly loved Rona and Jalen’s first encounter, which was so intense and memorable! Both Rona and Jalen are characters with idiosyncrasies, having issues from their past, yet they are SO good together. Rona is a private investigator, who is good at what she does. I fell in love with Jalen! He is drop dead gorgeous, enigmatic, billionaire businessman, alpha, and after he meets Rona, he just cannot take no for an answer, despite her stubbornness. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

A Lot Of Arc Readers Lied To Her

Just wow. Who are Rona, Jalen and Clay? How is it possible for a reader to believe when Jalen tells Rona in Chapter 19 he admires her?! The writing of a book is something an author plots out carefully...this author was in such a rush to throw so many characters at is in the first three chapters, along with a dream state flashbacks that the reader would would have to be a squirrel on speed to keep up with everything projectially vomiting out of this author’s mind. Five young teens girls are missing in a small town....where are the flyers, where are the teams searching for at least Meka...Jalen could have given all of his employees paid time off to search. He’s a billionaire, he could have posted a reward. How about the parents of the 4 other girls. While my brain might not be as big as our current president’s, I believe I’m a pretty intelligent person. Even I know when Jalen asked “can I ask you a question” I would have thought he was intelligent enough to use the correct words which is “May”. There was no character development..none, zip, nada. I don’t think care what happens to these people enough to read the next book.

It took me a little while to get into this book and it was different to most of M.S. Parkr's other books, but as I read the more I liked it and the only reservation I have is that it seemed to cover so much in such a sort amount of time. I would loved to have known more about Anton and Rona's time in Hell's kitchen, and I felt a little cheated about Jenna, but I am sure that will come to light in future books.

There were moments of real sadness in this story and moments of really hot sex (I am sure we will find out Jalen is a dominant). A lot happens in this book but the saving of the girls and the finalisation of Rona's dealings with her father were the underlying stories and were resolved to everyone's satisfaction except perhaps Clay - I am sure that he will be back but Ms.Parker likes to leave us guessing as to how. All in all a good read and I am sure the next one will be even better.

This one felt different. It had twists and surprises. A few times I didn't even know what would happen next with Clay and Jalen. The relationship between them and Rona are both very different. Both protective and full of love. One very intense and carnal, a bit confusing but also with the best intentions and strong. What Rona and Jalen experience when they meet is completely new to them. Is a chemistry that they did not see coming or thought they could ever had. Specially Rona since she doesn't seem to catch a break to feel special and cherished. But she welcome's it, she is an honest straight to the point woman that doesn't beat around he bushes. One thing that I found good about this book is that it felt very realistic. Some mistakes are made and consequences are met and efforts needed to be made to fix things, just like in real life. I like the direction this series is going and I can't wait to read who steels Clay's heart. He deserves something good.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book through BookSprout. Another amazing read by M.S. Parker! I’m so excited for this series and can’t wait to see what’s coming next. You will be sucked in from the start and not put this down until you are finished. I loved Rona, her story is emotional, heartbreaking, and she trusts no one except Clay, but is that enough for her? When she has to deal with her past, will she be able to handle it? I loved how this story developed and we got to see Rona for who she really is, you will be on the edge of your seat waiting to see how her story is going to turn out, you think you know which way it’s going to go, but you will be mistaken. Loved this book, highly recommend it.

A woman whom had been through unimaginable terror tries to move on with her life, but has to give up her dream because of her past. An FBI agent who loves her, and a business man that wants her. Everything collides together and Rona had some tough decisions to make.

I enjoyed this story, and really felt for Rona and all the struggles she had going on. I thought Clay would be her HEA, and was shocked when Jalen entered the picture, then left, over and over. However, he was there when she really needed it. The story had some great sub-plots going on, and all the minor characters were intriguing.

Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Holy smokes! This story is a great beginning of a new series!! M.S. Parker blows my mind how she writes a good amount of books and they are all so different!! I love each and every one of them equally!!

Rona had quite the childhood and has taken all the extra precautions she could to bury it to the outside world. However, when she's training to be an FBI agent, all hell breaks loose. It was revealed what happened to her as a child and that she isn't who she said she is. So, she's out of training and a job.

So many twists and turns!! I thought she was going to be with one person and that wasn't the case at all!! Oh to be inside M.S. Parker's evil mind as she plots these amazing stories!!

Look forward to reading the next installment of this series!

Rona has big dreams to be an FBI agent but while at the academy she is called into the director's office. At first, she thinks that she and Clay, her late uncle's best friend and an instructor at the academy whom she has been having an affair with, have been found out. But it's worse. They have found out about her past and now she is being kicked out. Then she gets a job as a PI and meets Jalen when he hires her to find a missing girl. And just when she thinks her future is going to be better, everything falls apart and she is forced to face her past again. But who will be there to help her pick up the pieces?

Interesting story.

A good storyline that covers a number of things Rona a woman scarred and left for dead by her own father and had witnessed him kill her mother and others fights every day to keep her nightmares under control. She ends up as PI and meets a man that she has instant chemistry with, Jalen is a rich business man who pays her to find a colleagues daughter which she does and breaks up a human trafficking ring. She and Jalen have a lot to work out but in the end love wins through. It's quite a difficult story with a lot of serious issues being raised but there are a few things that aren't explained such as her uncle's death and what happened to Jenna maybe these will unexplained in the next episode.

Wherever I thought this story was going, it didn't. The person who I thought Rona was going to end up with, I was wrong again. The nightmare sequences in this story were pivotal for the backstory and it only amped up the suspense of what really happened to Rona Quick. I would have liked a male POV as well, but that is just my personal preference. Overall, the story had me on the edge of wanting to know more about Rona's story and I couldn't wait to get to the end to find out. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Exciting Series

Jalen had hired Burkart Investigations to find the missing daughter of one of his workers. Rona was assigned the case. When she first saw Jalen she could not believe her eyes; he was beautiful, well liked and smart. Though she regretted not following through on her attraction she kept reminding herself she had a job to do. In fact she did it so well, she found the daughter and stopped a human trafficking ring. Now the job was done and Jalen was the one to start the affair. Many ups and downs; we find more on what Rona’s life was like as an adolescent and the book ends in a cliffhanger.

Claimed by Him is a new series that introduces us to Rona (kicked out of the fbi, now P.I.and Jalen) but also reconnects is to Jenna (resident hacker) and Rylan. Rona’s childhood took a turn at age 12/13 and as an adult she hadn’t recovered. Jalen hires her to find an employee’s missing daughter and one thing after another they connect! The book ends in a good place but I’m already anxious about what the second book brings! Read this!!

I don't know how to begin this review. I really floved this book so much and purposely read it slow (4 days to be exact) because I didn't want it to end. Once I started, I was hooked. The writing was so beautiful and the characters and their relationship just worked to help develop this story line. I wanted Rona to be with both Clay and Jalen but, I just couldn't figure out who was better for her. I was torn between both men. They were both good for her and to her. This is an incredible book. Apparently there will be another book to this awesome series. I cannot wait.

This was a good story but was heartbreaking knowing what Rona has been through. I loved seeing The Archers and loved seeing what they were up too. Jalen ugh I liked him and then hated him but he did redeem himself. I was at first rooting for Clay but now I’m hoping maybe his stories next. Good story with great characters that kept me interested.

Rona wants to be an FBI agent but she lies on her application and is found out. Leaving everything behind she tries different cities before she finally settles and becomes a private investigator.

A few cases in and she gets a missing teenager who the cops have written off as a runaway. The guy hiring her is Jalen and he is super hot.

Rona has a past past though and as can find herself in a dangerous position!

(Jalen can be a bit of a dick.. heads up!)

An interesting beginning

Rona simply wants to help people with the issues they can’t solve themselves. She thought going into the FBI was where she could do that but that didn’t work out. Now she’s doing work as a private investigator.

Jalen has the money to help his employee find his missing daughter. So he asks a friend who he used to do some work. That’s how he found himself walking into this particular PI office.

The story begins…

So good! Real, raw and empowering to read, this book has all the feels. Past history and a present filled with high emotions, Rona is my warrior. Will she ever be able to fight her demons? Will her desire to settle down be a possibility or an illusion? While she’s doing her job to help others, who’s protecting her?

A fantastic read!

Wow! This story was amazing! Rona is such a strong woman, to go thru what she did in the past and still be able to live life to the fullest. When her past comes back to haunt her she will have two men to lean on, Clay and Jalen, one an old time friend and one a new love interest. This will take u thru her past and present, most is not pretty at all, but the end is absolutely perfect

I am at a loss for words as what to say about this book, it was beyond amazing, from the story line to the characters we meet in this book.

I found myself holding my breathe waiting to hear Rona's story, and when the truth comes out my heart was smashed into a millions pieces.

This book is a must read for sure and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

An emotional and trilling ride, at times I thought I knew what was going to happen, only to get the rug pulled out from under me. The story is from Rona's POV only. Rona has plenty of scars and hidden secrets from her past, and the price of keeping them has shaped her life. She has suffered loss and pain in her young life, but she still tries her best and hasn't given up
