Just because her sisters had gone nuts over the rugged, good-looking, perfect cowboy Masterson brothers didn’t mean Perci was going to meekly fall in line—especially not with the last Masterson brother.
Dr. Nate Masterson had been the biggest thorn in her side since Perci first started working at the tiny Masterson County Hospital.
Now that her sisters had married his brothers, Nate was in her life far more than Perci ever imagined he would be—and far more than she wanted. Taunting her, watching her, making her burn in ways she didn’t want to even think about.
She had no idea what she was going to do with the devil now in the very center of her world.
Nate Masterson wanted Perci Tyler. Everyone knew it. His brothers did. Her sisters did. Nate certainly knew it. The entire town was just waiting for the two of them to fall for each other.
Perci had tormented him and intrigued him and made him want things from the very beginning.
It was time he just gave in to the temptation she presented.
Before the threat stalking the both of them ended any chance they had at forever…
Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).
Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?
In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!
Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.
She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.
She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.
They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.
Such a good story. It kept me glued to it. A very exciting and gripping ending too. I love this series! I have already bought the rest of this series, and can't wait to read them. 5☆
I loved these four books. Will definitely be reading more by this author. They were sweet and sassy and rather cliched but there was plenty of action and the writing was excellent and I absolutely loved the characters
Persephone Tyler watched her sister fall one by one to the charming, handsome and sexy Masterson brothers. She however was not going to following in her sisters' footsteps.
Dr. Nate Masterson was the devil to Persephone and they fought there attraction because it was easier than fighting her real demons. Demons that threaten them before they can see what kind of future they have. They also have to contend with the Masterson matriarch as she returns to meddle in Nate's life.
I really enjoyed this story. Peri is so strong and has kept so much of her troubles to herself. She has suffered far more than anyone knew. She needs someone as strong and stubborn as Dr. Nate to protect her. He is such a good man like the rest of his brothers. He is however a bit slow to get want he wants, but when he finally decides, there is no stropping him.
We also meet a little girl named Ivy who needs protecting. She steals the show. I hope there will be more books in the series. Perhaps we will see Phoenix Tyler get his own story or maybe They Tyler's dad will find love again. I really enjoyed this books and want more.
Perci was stubborn, and she did her own thing. Didn't fall in line because she ought to, didn't become paired off cause they said, didn't play nice cause it was how you talked to your boss. Nope when it came to Nate she had more fight left in her. Until things changed...
Nate had cared from the beginning, the whole world practically knew, but he wasn't going to clue her in nor do a dang thing about it, until Ivy, and the ex sheriff...
I really enjoyed reading the last pair. Seeing why they fought and seeing them become a family. Loved the update on her twin and the other sisters and the boys' mom.
I would have loved to see more about the side relationships mentioned. Like the older Gunderson son... Or the director or the leading man...
Ivy was just the sweetest addition.
I wish there was a 5 year update on the whole crew... Maybe a Christmas celebrated or thanksgiving table when they say what/who they are grateful for.
Great clean read with a bit more passion then the others.
I loved reading Denying the Devil(Masterson County Book 4)!!! All about Perci Tyler a twenty-three year old nurse and a twin & Nate Masterson who is in his late-thirties is an ER Doctor and has three brothers. Perci & Nate have been working together for four years and as far as she is concerned he is the devil in carinate, and she will never find him attractive and never marry him!!! According to her all three of her sisters lost their minds when they married Nate’s three brothers, one right after the other, it was disgusting!!! Read about Perci & Nate and see how life’s small miracles can change your whole perspective. Lots of emotions, lots of laughter and crying!!! This is the fourth book in the series, and you need to read each of the books in order to understand what is happening in each, they kind of feed off of each other! It’s a big family with lots of drama, you won’t want to miss any of it!!! I can’t wait to read book five!!!! Definite Read!!!!
Quick read.. All of these sisters are always so confused and clueless around men showing them interest.. it is a bit annoying. There is always a life threatening moment which switches something in them to not wait anymore.. An injured, abused little girl, Ivy, is taken from her mother who is arrested. She has bonded to Perci and she has accepted Nate, and they look after her but in doing that they realise they are connected in many ways. The old sheriff, Clive, has been obsessing about Perci and the fact his son is dead and she is filled with life. He denies that Jay could have done anything like what people were saying, he blames everyone else. Even his step-son tells him to back off. He kidnaps Perci, he keeps asking her why, why is his son dead, why didn’t she and her sister die too! and threatens her but when she struggles against him the gun goes off… she survives surgery, and tells Nate they will be married as soon as she can stand without pain, and Ivy will be theirs permanently. I will be looking for more from Masterton County.

In some ways this was the best of the series, in others it was the worst.
The super sweet story about the two main characters and the child they protected was more charming, heart wrenching, and real than the interpersonal content in any of the other series books.
The antagonist was the most pathetic and unbelievable bad guy I've seen in a book in a long time. He started out the series as a very bad guy and his story was sad, but even given his grief he acted extremely irrationally and with poor planning and follow through, which is surprising for former law enforcement. The book would have been much more intense if he had been a better bad guy. Also, the editing was atrocious. Any word processor with grammar check would catch most of the missing prepositions and conjunctions. Did the author even proof read?
PG13 for violence. No sex or language.
Owned in The Masterson County Collection (books 1-4)
The final book in the series has Dr. Nate Masterson finally admitting that he cares for nurse Perci Tyler. The two are always at each other's throats. Their brothers and sisters know it is just a matter of time. What really makes them see each other clearly and quit arguing is when a toddler comes into the ER who is abused. Nate agrees to take Ivy because he and his brothers are registered foster parents. He needs Perci's help because Ivy is comfortable with her. They make a great team. Of course, there is a threat to Perci. They are able to successfully defeat the threat and agree they below together. A nice finish to the series.
It may be a case of the application of Malthus’ Law of deminishing utility but there’s a sameness about the books in this series that makes the first in the series refreshing but succeeding volumes become rather stale and one-note. This book is filled with the kind of bad middle-school grammatical errors a good editor should have caught. Unless, of course the author intended to make her characters sound like back-country bumpkins.
There always seems to be a villain who causes injury. Lovers kiss but the descriptions end when the bedroom door closes. Four brothers marry four sisters. End of story.
Perci is a Nurse and Nate is a Doctor and work at the same hospital. Perci and Nate argue/fight a lot, but are trying to get along better since they are now in laws as a result of their siblings marriages. While on duty at the hospital, a 2 year old girl named Ivy is brought in and is a case of abuse. Nate and Perci start taking care of Ivy, developing their relationship and run into trouble with Clive Gunderson. This is a good, fast read. I liked getting to know more about Perci and Nate. I would read more books by this author and the series.
With Nate and Perci’s story the saga of the Tyler’s and Masterson’s draws to a close. Although predictable it was enjoyable and like the others there was the right amount of romance, angst and suspense although the villain became irritating after a while. Some threads were left hanging and I can think of a sequel hope the Author does too. This is a stand alone book however it will behoove you to read the other three first. With 4 Stars from me I recommend the series in its entirety.
Good solid series and the author saved the best for last
Good solid read. I read the whole series and this is my favorite. It was the perfect length. I loved the protective hero and heroine, they protected each other and their family. I loved the family aspect of the whole series. I enjoyed the community feel as well. The love story was slower to progress than the others, but that made it more interesting. I enjoyed the relationship dynamics of the hero and heroine. I thought the addition of Ivy was great Mom coming home was a nice way to end the series
Throughout this series Perci Tyler and Nate Masterson have been at each other's throats arguing and bickering, but deep down they each have that burning desire for one another. When a little girl Ivy comes through the ER , she sets in motion for Perci and Nate to work together outside of the hospital as one. They soon give into the desire that is burning within them and they ignite a flame of passion. I'm so glad that Perci and Nate's story was last. Brooke's did an amazing job with this series, I look forward to reading more.
Wow, just wow. I loved the h and grew to really appreciate the H. That much togetherness in family would either be the best case scenario or a migraine! They made it work. The story moved along at a good pace and the action was over the top! I am so glad that Clint remained one of the good guys and that Clive was forced to face the consequences of his behaviors.
The editing was tight and the writing was strong! Well done. I love/hate to read a book where the ending is unappreciated because I wanted more!
It’s finally here! Nate and Perci have had a tumultuous relationship since Nate’s mother hired her at the hospital as a nurse. They are both starting to accept their feelings when an abused little girl is thrown into the mix and they have to care for her, the Masterson Matriarch comes back to town and works her devious matchmaking ways and a man who can’t accept the past targets Perci! But even after all they go through they fall in love and stop denying how they feel:)
Beautiful story and I look forward to the new series!
Wow! In this episode of "Masterson County", Perci and Nate, after almost a year and a half of constant hostility, accept that they care deeply for each other and want to be together. A cruel, viscious citizen of Masterson county continues to lurk in the shadows always watching Perci and her sisters, waiting for an opportunity to exact revenge for his son. This fast-paced story will have you hanging on every word. Beware, the last few chapters are incredibly emotional. Be Prepared For A Great Read!!!!!
I liked this book to end the series of the Masterson Brothers and Tyler Sisters. I still find it unusual that 4 sisters marry 4 brothers but it worked. Persi and Nate were worth waiting for. They have fought with each other through the previous 3 books all with an undercurrent of heat. It wasn’t as steamy as some of the others in the series and I felt some elements were tied up a little too easily while other bits were left unresolved. There are other spin off books so maybe the unanswered questions will get resolved in those.
Seems no one takes responsibility of hurting the folks in Masterson County every one is the victim and no one stands up for harassing, fires, shooting or hurting women. Everyone is to blame instead of the criminal.
When a family sticks together and do all to make sure one another is safe all will turn out right with the unconditional love they all have for another trusting one another to get things done.
I've read the entire series and loved them all! This was the best. Please t

I didn't leave a review for each book. They were all fabulous! I think this one was my favorite. I sure hope the author will continue with more stories about these families \town! PLEASE!
This was my favorite of the series. Nurses and doctors sometimes get together and live happily after ever. You hoped for that in this book, but you weren't sure. Both characters were strong and stubborn. But Calle J. Brookes would not be the writer she is if she couldn't get these two together. It wasn't easy, but she did and gave us a lovely story!
I was wondering how this would go! I knew Nate and Perci would end up together but the trip there was intriguing!. The who's and what's. Read the series in order and you'll figure it all out yourself! The disagreements, the Love, the suspense, and the knowledge! Enjoy it! I did!
One devil dead but one still left alive. Long simmering hate, misused power, arrogance, terror come to a boil while love sneaks up on our plucky heroine and hero.
So sorry to see this series end. Perci and Nate finally get together. Callie Brookes tied up loose ends in this book that I wonder about. A really great series to read.
This story was very predictable as I'd already read and enjoyed the first three three books. The romance was predictable but the stories were all different and though relatable were enjoyable. I recommend all four of these books but preferably in order.
The Tyler girls and Masterson keep us guessing. A movie gig for several and a despondent man trying to understand " Why?" All characters are described and books in this series is well worth the read.
A “found baby” to raise pulls these last two MCs across their final disagreements to allow them to see and act on their attraction. Wish we had gotten a scene from the movie premiere.
This is the first time reading from this author. Love this series & am interested in the next. This story pulled me in like the previous books. Great story line & almost keeps you guessing. Hands down gotta read!!
Another terrific story to grab you by the heartstrings and lead into the fray of Tyler's vs Gunderson's and our hero the Masterson's who love with all their heart and souls when they find the right woman!
The Masterson County books keep you on the edge of your seat! There is a love story but a love-hate story is also part of it. Regardless, this story will draw you in from the first page to the end.
Finally, all the antagonists are dealt with. Hopefully, the Masterson brothers and Tyler sisters get time to fully heal and have their HEA endings. But with three more stories in the series, is that possible? Just have to stay tuned!
