By my own free will, I surrendered my life to my Master. I vowed to honor him through my thoughts, words, and actions. We were linked by love and trust. He would never forsake me. He owned me. Even when sharing my body with other men.
But when tragedy strikes, his control attempts to carry us through. But cracks show in my surrender, and the cracks slowly break apart. Sharing my body always brought us closer. I had no choice but to invite another man into our marriage.
There is only one man brave enough to show us who we are. Fox Baron. An artist, sex god, and my teacher.
But I never expect what comes after. No longer will our metal rings and leather strap hold our future promises, they remind us of the things we wish to forget.
Sharing is a dangerous game and we may not survive.
Nicky's emotionally rich, vibrant stories take place in cities, thrumming with energy. There, her heroines come up against personal and professional challenges, and are pushed to break new ground and become better versions of themselves. Nicky gives her characters just the right amount of conflict to create a satisfying push and pull, one that keeps her readers up late at night, wanting to know what happens next.
Nicky imbues each of her stories with love, lust and passion, which she believes are among the strongest emotions we can experience. By immersing her readers into worlds of power and erotic passion, she invites them to explore their own unspoken desires. Her hope is that her stories embolden her readers to realize their fullest potential — be it in the boardroom, the bedroom, or anywhere in between.
Nicky makes her home in Pittsburgh, PA with her ever-growing collection of music and books.
The amount of detail that goes into this author's stories boggles my mind. There are a ton of BDSM books out there but rarely one that truly portrays a story that is one hundred percent authentic when it comes to a 24/7 relationship. While this is new to me, and not something that I would do personally it still intrigued me.
The writing is enticing juxtaposed with cautious. The characters are vulnerable and yet trust implicitly. I felt both of these characters as they vacillated in how to balance their life, their roles, and their identities after a loss. I appreciated the before and after moments because they gave me a chance to truly understand the motivations of not only who they were as people but why it should matter that they healed.
This book showed me how very important it is to truly love mind, body, and soul and how rare it is to be able to have all three at the same time. I wasn't expecting how they got to the end since Brit and Damian seemed to know the other so well. However, I think that had they not gone the route that they did it would not have had the same ending. I loved watching the healing of the main characters. Especially Brit in her paintings. The purge of her emotions through her paintings and eventual understanding and acceptance of an awful tragedy touched my heart.
I hope in time there is a book for Fox. I feel like there is more to his story and would like to see it. This has been a great collection of stories that are complete standalones ( I actually need to go back and read book two because somehow I missed it). I like that so far they have been very different and the premise of the fourth book seems to be going in an0ther direction as well. That speaks volumes of the author and how skilled she is.
If you’re into BDSM romance, chances are, you one-clicked this baby the second you read the blurb. Congrats. You’re in for something special.
For the rest of you who might be on the fence because of the BDSM aspect, please stick with me for a second because I need to convince you not to bypass this work of art because you think it might not be for you. If you’re into angsty, heartbreaking, emotional, sexy, marital strife/friends to lovers romance that digs deep, it’s for you.
Yes, BDSM is a heavy theme, but in Beyond Her Desire, sex is simply a means to an end. It isn’t what the couple does that matters; it’s why they do it. And the “why” will break your heart.
The author says of this book, "You've never experienced a romance like this!"
No, Ms. Grant, I haven't. You not only surprised me, you blew me away.
**This is the third installment in the Beyond Surrender Series, and it is a standalone.**
Five dangerous stars! This book will set your e-reader and you on fire!
There are so many books in the world but there is nothing compared to Beyond Her Desire by Nicky F. Grant. This is one of those stories that crawl so deeply into your head—where you're not merely reading a book but feeling it too. It is hot craziness wrapped in temptation. I really don’t like to make comparisons but in my opinion this is one of the best BSDM romances I have had the pleasure to read. Better than any shade! It consumed me wholly and hold me hostage from the first to the last page of this passionate and seductive master piece. There aren’t enough words to describe how much I loved this book. It took my breath away. It blew my mind. It ruined me. All my senses were awaken in the most primal way. It seduced me like liquid passion running thorough my veins. I blushed like a teenage girl who read her first dirty book hidden in her bedroom. I had the most enthralling experience while reading this piece of temptation.
The pacing is fast and the plot is unique and refreshing. This book is a breath of fresh air. It is an all-consuming, pulse-pounding, sinfully sexy tale with the right amount of panty-melting scenes and hot passion. Beyond Her Desire by Nicky F. Grant will set your body and kindle on fire were you will burn to ashes and it will make you come back to life like a phoenix. This book is HOT with capital letters. It is DESIRE on FIRE. It is HARMONIC CHAOS. It is a DANGEROUS tale of complete SURRENDER and SHARING of bodies. It is a TEMPTING game full of KINK, PASSION, secret DESIRES and DISCOVERY.
The characters are very complex and intense. They add the fire to this alluring, toe-curling BSDM romance. Brit and Damien’s story is a wrecking ball of a journey. As dominant and collared submissive, they will experience the sweetest and the bitter stages of a BSDM relationship. They will play with fire and maybe they will burn but the LOVE and CARE for each other will save them or condemn them. Being married would add more complications and obstacles.
Book 3! In the series! The title fits to a tee! Beyond her Desire is something to experience!
Brit and Damien’s Love story is full of Passion and heartache. Having control and dominance over their personal life Damien has kept structure in their marriage, but when things go out of control the story takes off.
Brit’s finds focused peace in her art and when she meets Fox at her art class he introduces her to the art of tying rope. Together with Damien they find that their souls can find peace together with the ties that bind.
A quote from this beautifully written story:
“ Art lives in the soul, but it’s our mind which needs to be cleared to embrace it”
Well done Nicky Grant! Loved this story and the characters!
Theirs may have been an unconventional love story but it was an incredibly beautiful one. Brit and Damien have a Dom/Sub relationship and are also married. They have experienced some significant losses recently and it has altered the landscape of their relationship. It is clear that what has worked for them in the past is clearly not working in the present. Brit also uses art as an outlet but finds that she's holding back in her art as well and not allowing herself the freedom to truly express her feelings.
Fox is brought into Damien and Brit’s relationship as a third in an attempt to recapture the stability their relationship had before the chaos. Fox is Brit's art teacher and it is the first time she has chosen the third person to bring in instead of Damien. Fox tries to find common ground with Damien and tells him he will teach him the art of rope play if Damien and Brit will show him how to love fully. In addition, since Fox is also an artist, he is able to help guide Brit toward opening herself more fully to her art again.
There is so much more I would love to share but I’m dancing on the fringes of spoiling the story and that is something I absolutely will not do. Trust me when I say that this is so much more than a book about a ménage relationship. It delves into why the individuals needed that type of relationship as in what need it satisfied for each person. There were so many emotions blended into this book that I often found tears running down my face. Thank you Nicky for bringing these beautiful characters to life with your words. I felt their sadness, joy, pain and frustrations. It was such an incredible journey.
“I hope one day I find a love as profound as yours.”
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
Holy. Smoking. Hotness. W>T>F> did I just read? Lol. Ok...for starters, let me state that in no way do I understand the lifestyle. At all. However, underneath all of that, is a love story between two very broken people. How they deal with their heartache, and the person who helps them deal with it, was very real, very emotional and at times, very painful. Even when I was uncomfortable with a scene, I was still in love with the story and the journey the characters were traveling. Ms. Grant has a way of making every word come to life. Every emotion-whether joyful, tragic, passionate or furious-leaps off the page until you feel the stabbing beauty of each word. Believe me-the sex was off the charts hot, but the rawness of the three characters' pain and their healing was the true treasure of this book. I looked at Fox as more of a counselor than a third partner, and I honestly wept at one point. Not because I've ever experienced anything remotely similar to any of the situations described, but simply because Nicky is that wonderful of an author. Bravo...Please...do not stop writing. Ever.
I literally had tears in my eyes as I finished this beautiful story today. Tears that were not really sad tears just a cathartic release. I have read nothing in all my years of reading this genre like this. I was completely invested in this couple. I was fighting for this couple. I was grieving with this couple. I was elated for this couple. I learned a lot from this couple.
What a unique story. We have Brit and Damien and couple that has been married for 10 years. In a full 24/7 D/s relationship. It was refreshing to read a story they goes deeper into the relationship then just how two people meet and developed into a relationship. She gave us a peak into the intrinsic need that both people had to fulfill their role in the relationship. The care that both felt for each other was palpable.
The author does weave highlights of the couples meeting. It is duel POV which I enjoy and I felt in enable me to become more invested in both Brit and Damien.
I don’t want to give spoilers but Brit and Damien do involve a third, Fox. I think I had a soul affair with him. Such a phenomenal mysterious character. I am begging the author for Fox to get his own book.
Art plays a huge part on Brit’s life and this story. It’s almost another character of the book. The author does a beautiful job of describing the art work. I wish there was a appendix that included the images as I would pay good money to attend the gallery viewing as well as the art show that Fox does!
My heart has broken into a million pieces for Brit. Such an emotional and heartbreaking story. Brit and Damien have such a strong marriage, but are so broken individually. My heart felt so much sympathy for Brit. She hasn't been allowed to be free, she doesn't know what freedom is.
Brit and Damien live the Sub/Dom lifestyle twenty-four seven. Brit is a very likeable character who has suffered loses and lives in lot of emotional pain. She only feels whole when she's submitting herself to her Master. She's a very talented artist and uses it as an emotional escape. She turned down her dream before, but is given another chance. Can she actually be able to soar with very much needed freedom?
Damien is a good guy at heart, but he fails to notice many things with his wife because he's too wrapped up in his Dom role. A turn of events for Damien left him realizing all his mistakes and everything that he has failed to see. Bringing a third in their relationship has always kept them bonded together, but this time it's different. Even with their strong marriage, is this lifestyle hurting their relationship and destroying their bond?
Going into this book, I wasn't prepared for such a heartbreaking story. Prepare yourself to be consumed with a million emotions and your heart to break as Brit slowly unfolds. Such a beautifully written heartbreaking but very heartfelt story.
Although this is book 3 in the series it is the first book that I have read and I absolutely loved it, as far as I’m concerned I enjoyed and understood the story so much that I couldn’t have missed out on anything by not reading the previous books. Brit and Damien are master and slave but also husband and wife although they’ve been together 10 years, over the past year after trying to deal with a tragedy their relationship is no longer working as fluidly as it should. Brit is blocking up her true feelings not wanting to let her master down and kind of going through the motions of the lifestyle they’ve been used to. When more tragedy strikes she turns to fox her art teacher, with his easy going personality, dazzling smile and love of art she finds him extremely hot and his laid back approach makes it easy to share her fellings with him rather than her dominant husband. An excellent read that gives u more of an insight into the relationship between Dom, slave and later a 3rd. This book is not only about the BDSM sex (obviously that is in there) but is an insight into the emotions and feelings of both parties in this kind of relationship and the lengths they will go to for their spouse and their forever love.
Brit and Damien, le sigh! All the feels. She is his heart as he is hers. After a devastating loss, he has pushed rules and boundaries for them to help her heal. One thing has been pushing her back to her art, which brings Fox into their lives. Another is a tragic accident which makes both of them dig deep. This book explores what dominance and submission mean when the parts that make us whole are broken. What love is. How sharing your heart can help heal a broken duo. Their journey takes a winding, rough road, but they eventually reach a place of peace and happiness, just not quite the way they thought they would. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Wow!! This book was more than a hot read!!! I've been following this series and knew it was going to be good, but I didn't know it was going to have so many life lessons in it.!! This book has put me in a book coma!! I have so much to process. And Fox!! Wow!! He's so... I don't even have words for him. He's the person in this book that really moved me. I hope he gets his own book he needs to be explored.
This was a very emotional read! I don't usually go for the master/slave dynamic but it was easily portrayed and felt throughout the book and well as the characters struggles. I really liked the story a lot!
I've read all 3 books in this series and this was by far my favorite. There is love, passion, heartache and personal growth through the whole thing. Unlike the first two, this book is in 1st POV which I think is why I enjoyed it so much more. I was really able to connect with Damien & Britt.
This is Grant's best book yet! It takes you through the complexities of relationships of those in the BDSM scene, and the risks of bringing a third into a partnership already showing cracks.
I had moments where I seriously wanted to slap characters but in the end I fell in loe with them all and my heart was all twisted and torn through the journey.
Wonderful writing! Beautiful love story! Also HOT HOT HOT! I would recommend this to everyone. I absolutely loved how well you get to know the characters and their amazing love story. Definitely worth reading!
I was lucky enough to beta read this book and it so did not disappoint. There is so much heat and underlying it each of the characters grow and evolve in a way that keeps you wanting to know more while cheering them on. Loved it
After reading the first two books in this series, which I loved, I was really looking forward to Brit and Damien's story. Once again the writing is impeccable, told from a dual perspective I got all of the feelings from both parties in detail, which I really enjoyed.
I didn't feel that I related to this book as much as I did the other two; yes, the story was good but I felt there was a lot less angst in this book than the last two. It was easier going with a slow burn. This story was predominantly focused on the two main character's relationship through the book.
It was an emotional book, especially where Damien was concerned and I was drawn to this man from the very start. He was in turmoil and tried so hard to please Brit in all ways possible, at times, of course, he made mistakes but this is what made him so endearing. I really felt a connection to Damien. Brit, on the other hand, grated on me. She came across as whiny and never seemed completely happy with her lot no matter how hard Damien tried, she always wanted more, was always finding fault in their lives.
The secondary characters lightened the story for me and were a good addition. I can't believe I'm saying this but considering the content of this book I didn't feel there was enough sex in it; but what there was, was written well.
Although it was an emotionally frustrating story at times, I would be happily reading the book one minute and the next, I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall or jump into the story and give Brit a damn good shake. This is a good all-rounder but not my favourite of this series so far.
As crazy as this is gonna sound.... This was a heartbreaking beautifully written story. This is book three in the series and it revolves around Damien, Brit, and Fox. Damien is an architect and loves to create, and give his clients what they dream of. Brit is an artist as she expressed everything through her paintings. Fox now Fox is also an artist, but his art is expressed through live people and is very erotic. Damien and Brit have suffered a huge loss, and along the way they lost themselves. They lost what it was like to just be. They have a relationship that some may find unconventional, but has always worked for them. Brit makes the choice to bring Fox in, in hopes of rekindling what her and her husband lost. I I would love to go into more detail, but I'm afraid if I do I will add spoilers, and I can not do that. You need to read and experience the heart breaks and the finding of true love all on your own.
Beyond Her Desire was an unconventional but beautiful love story, full of emotion. This story was well written, heartbreaking at times, and included some hot steamy bits.
This was Brit and Damien's story. A couple living a 24/7 master / slave lifestyle, desperately trying to find themselves after tragedy. There strong love and with the help of a third, following a further life changing event, they try to find what they have lost.
I've read each book in this series and am really looking forward to Book 4, Ethan's Story.
OMFG!! WHAT DID I JUST FINISHED READING!! BEYOND HER DESIRE by Nicky Grant BLEW ME AWAY and She is a New Author for me!! WOW! WOW! WOW!! Brit and Damien's Storytelling was Heartwreching and Emotional distress of Epic proportions Plus Beautifully Written!! It was such a Rollercoaster ride of TWISTS AND TURNS INTO the UNKNOWN!! LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! DEFINITELY A MUST READ BOOK AND DEFINITELY LOOKING FORWARD TO READ MORE FROM NICKY!!!
Beyond Her Desire is book Three in the Beyond Surrender Series. This is the story of Brit, Damien and Fox. These books can be standalone if you wish to do so. Brit and Damien are married but they have suffered from a traumatic loss that has left them floating by. Damien had show Brit into a world of passion, possibilities that she thrived in but now they have need to enhance their spark again with leads to Brit picking Fox to inter into their relationship. They have added a third to their relationship in the past but Fox is her new Art Teacher. Definitely a spice read.

This read was one heck of an emotional & hot rollercoaster ride that I completely did not want to get off of! A must-read!!! Putting down the kindle was not something I wanted to do while reading this book. Be sure to check it out!!
This an emotional accounting of the journey Brit and Damien must undertake in order to find balance and freedom in their relationship. Not only are they in a D/s relationship, but they are also married. Only through this structured approach to their lives, they have been able to experience a sense of balance in their lives. Now we find Brit going through a period of self-doubt. She wants the freedom to express herself through her art, but Damien is not quite sure she is ready for this. As they both seek help in understanding if this the correct next step in their journey, they meet Fox in the Art class. The combination of these three characters brings a new layer to their story. One man is looking to learn and be loved fully, and the other two are trying to set their wings free while still achieving a balance and happiness in their lives. This story is more than a menage. The menage is just the means they use to achieve what their hearts desire. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
BDSM is not my typical genre to read, but every now and then, I like to read something different. Nicky F. Grant is a new author to me, and, well, I was so pleased with her latest release, Beyond Her Desire, I can't wait to go back and read the first two installments in the Beyond Surrender series.
Grant's writing was fresh and the story didn't have that fake feel to it that some BDSM stories have. Brit and Damien felt like realistic people. Their story wasn't just on the surface, it actually had depth and emotion as they worked to put their lives back together again. Trust played an important role in their relationship and that was so important to me. I felt engaged from start to finish and when a story can keep me so intensely glued to the pages, it's a winner for me.
Whether you're an avid reader of this kind of story or not, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Grant took Beyond Her Desire to a level I wasn't expecting and I feel it's very deserving of five stars!
When i started this book i had a preconception of what i thought this book was about. Mainly when it mentioned BDSM i was picturing red rooms, dominant men & various paddles, whips....etc. What i got apart from some of the above is a story about love, truth, loss, heartbreak and honesty. Its about a married couple Brit & Damien coming to terms with a loss in a master & slave relationship. The dynamic that creates & how that can also be destructive when other things in their life take away that control. If you take the BDSM out of the equation then this is a lovely story about rekindling a relationship. The BDSM just adds another dimension to it
This is my first book by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Judging from the blurb I expected more BDSM oriented scenes then were in the book. There is nothing extreme in this book. There is a consensual third party.
This is mostly an emotional book and journey of a couple who are trying to find their way back together after a tragedy. There is loss, sadness, guilt, anger and so much more. Britt express her feeling through her art and seeing that was wonderful to read.
I enjoyed the book, but it wasn’t what i expected.
Beyond Her Desire was such a touching and raw book of self-discovery after having something traumatic happen in your life. Sometimes events affect you more than you think they do. You try to solve problems in ways that you are accustomed to, thinking that the issues will be solved, even though they are really just painted over for the time being. I really loved how the relationships progressed and evolved throughout the story. It was interesting to see how each main character had a piece of themselves missing and needed each other to realize it in order to complete themselves.

I came to this series without realizing it was a series. While I was able to understand the story, I imagine reading the previous books would help a person connect to the characters. For me; however, this hero reminded me too much of ex-husband; not in his dominance, but in the way he handled himself during a time of personal crisis. Lashing out and using situations he orchestrated to hurt others, or bend them to his will. I enjoyed Fox far more than either of the two main characters.
The writing was good but this book just wasn't for me.
