Ruth runs from her job as a worker in an abortion center when she encounters a stray, pregnant dog on a kamikaze stroll through four lanes of rush hour traffic. The dog, who has an uncanny ability to speak to Ruth’s guilt-ridden heart, promptly deposits four pups on Ruth’s kitchen floor along with a determined love that propels Ruth on a journey back to hope. Will a new job, new dog, and new interesting young man be able to confound attempts of those who would shove her back into a past darkness she desperately wants to escape? A very serious story of redemption and the sacred value of life told with humor and truth. The book premieres this best-selling author’s Mirror Lake Reflections. Psalm 36:6,9 ...You, Lord, preserve both people and animals...For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

What a powerful book! Some parts of it were very hard to read, but the forgiveness and the redemption which came was worth the hard parts. There were so many lovable characters (both human and canine) in the story; my favorite has to be Bo, the talking dog.
