Undercover Seduction in the second book in the “ private eyes” series. This book weaves in the story of detective Ray Knott and his partner Liam, and their quest to solve the SSK mystery, and a potential new couple Elijah and Noah. Elijah has put his heart and soul into his vineyard and winery “Valient Vines” for the lady 10 years. Now he feels he has the time to persue romance and decides to host a gay singles retreat at his vineyard. When his first guest shows up a day early, Elijah plays host and welcomes him. His new guest is gorgeous and Elijah figures it won’t hurt to invite him to dinner and get to know him better before the other guests arrive. Noah saw Elijah on tv when he was doing a talk show and promoting his wines. And has been captivated by the man ever since. He figures that showing up early to the retreat, would give him some private time to get to know Elijah. Things are going good until a theft occurs. When detectives Ray and Liam show up, they decide to go undercover and pretend to be lovers. But is it really pretend? This book kept me captivated from the very beginning. Just when I though I knew what was going to happen, the author would throw me a curve ball. I truly enjoyed this book, and can’t wait to see what else Romeo Alexander has in store for his readers.

As in the first book, the main couple for this installment was not perhaps as interesting as the long term couple we're rooting for, Liam and Ray. Elijah and Noah seem to lack depth and their story feels a bit shallow, they meet and almost immediately start planning to incorporate each other into their lives, the feels come fast and they fall in love with in a matter of days all the while a mystery playing in the background. Elijah is a wine something or other and Noah is the man who saw him on TV, developed a crush and signed up for the event Elijah was hosting, showing up a day early, pretending he got confused so he could spend time with Elijah. When Elijah finds out he feels betrayed which seemed a little odd to me. Noah does confess to recording and watching Elijah over and over which did sound creepy go. That whole thing was a little off, but eventually they work out there issues and by the end of it they are on their way to a long-term romance.

I wasn't invested at all with those too but we did get a hot moment between Liam and Ray, unfortunately though Ray has been pining for Liam the minute Liam makes a move Ray can't backpedal fast enough which is frustrating! I expect resolution and full hea in the last volume!

Elijah and Noah are on opposite sides of the personality spectrum but neither can deny their attraction. They need the other to complete their lives but subterfuge and theft interfere to forestall their HEA. In steps Ray and Liam to solve the mystery at Elijah's Valiant Vines Winery. But are Ray and Liam just continuing to play into the hands of the notorious SSK killer; the villainous murderer who's affected their lives and mutually guarded feelings for each other? I loved how this author wrote the notes/poems left by SSK. It added the necessary touch of mystery/intrigue to this book as well as the first in the series. These poems added credence to Mr. Alexander's writing talent. This is the 2nd book in the Private Eyes series and one not to be missed. I'm willingly leaving an honest and voluntary ARC review of this book.

Excellent book. If you like hot MM with romance and suspense wrapped all in one package then this is a must read for you. Elijah is an accomplished vinI messed up my back really bad that I can hardly walk. I am taking some muscle relaxers but they only help so much. I will be out for a few days. I won’t know anything until I can get in to see the doctor. I am due back to work on Wednesday but not sure if I will be up to it by then. Will keep you posted on what the doctor says.

I suggest you read Book 1 prior to reading this one.
🔎Even though each book has featured its own case for Private Investigator Ray Knott to solve, there is a bigger and much more intense case occurring and progressing through the series.
⏳I hope Book 3 is available soon; I really want to find out what happens next!

Take it slow

Liam and Rays story continues to develop. A case from an old school friend brings them to a winery. The case ends in the best of ways even with a visit from SSK. To be continued. Got hooked on the guys and the story

Ugg. Insta-love and unprotected sex between strangers always turns me off.

However, I did enjoy seeing the relationship between Liam and Ray take a step forward. The shower scene was meltingly sweet.

I enjoyed Noah and Elijah's story very much, but I'm obsessed with Ray and Liam! This book was such a tease. I'm sure that Liam is head over heels crazy about Ray, but so far we only had Ray's POV. The next and final book is going to focus entirely on them and I can't wait to be in Liam's head too and see Ray get what he has wanted for 10 years. I also have some theories on the case and I'm a bit scared of what might happen to them!

I am in love with this series. A little mystery with a little romance. Elijah/Noah and Liam/Raymond. Sometimes your biggest mistake can be also be the best thing. And the steam coming off of Liam and Raymond. I can hardly take it. I can't wait to see what happens. The SSK killer has got me intrigued.
