A heart-rending loss…
Flora Bock will never forgive the Anferthian invaders for murdering her birth-parents. Growing up with the grandson of her sworn enemies is living a nightmare—until the day she sees him through the eyes of a young woman. But giving her heart to him is the ultimate betrayal of her parents’ memory.

A life in peril…
There are precious few places in the galaxy where Fander K’nil is safe. One look into Flora’s beautiful, hate-filled eyes is proof enough that Terr is not one of those places. He must keep her at a distance and stay alive long enough to fulfill his destiny. No matter what his heart desires.

An empire at stake…
Just as Fander and Flora begin to discover the depth of their feelings for each other, they are thrust into a deadly game of politics and assassination with an enemy who stops at nothing to stay in power. With the lives of everyone they love at risk, they must find a way to avert a new invasion before it’s too late—even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice.

Summary:
Flora’s life was changed forever the day aliens invaded killing her parents leaving her an orphan. Luckily Flora and two other orphans were adopted by a loving family. The fight to save the Earth only attained with the help of the Matir another alien race also fighting the Anferthians. Flora’s adoptive parents were the Profetae who were fated to save their worlds giving Flora privileges and responsibilities. Life went on until the day a delegation from their invaders, the Anferthian arrived reminding Flora of everything she lost. Ambassador K’nil and Fander, his grandson, arrived knowing that some people could have problems with them being Anferthians, but Flora’s anger towards Fander made the transition difficult. Her anger was understandable, but things may not be what they seem. After an initial disagreement leaving Fander with a black eye the two slowly built a friendship they never expected. Secretly they cared for each other until the day Fander finally kissed her ending with his leaving Earth for their home world. Flora never understood why he went leaving only a note. Years of waiting were filled with growing into her goal to become an ambassador spending time with Ambassador K’nil who became a surrogate grandfather to her. Her missing Fander never abated without change until Ambassador K’nil was killed in front of her placing everyone she loves including Fander in danger. The truth of what happened on Anferthian could change everything.

This was a wonderful conclusion to The Prophecy series giving the reader a greater understanding about who was the real enemy. The initial difficulty between Fander and Flora and their growing relationship was wonderful to experience. The visual descriptions of Anferthia brought their world and people to life for the reader. I for one am hopeful that this isn’t the end of their story.

Great emotional conflict. How can you hate a species yet fall in love with one of them? As usual, Lea Kirk develops an interesting world. Better yet, the characters touch your heart. I enjoyed all three books in the Prophecy series.

This was a great conclusion to the series. I absolutely love the world that was created and the characters. I enjoyed the emotional conflict and watching the struggle of loving someone who is a species you've hated. If you like sci-fi romance, you should definitely check this series out

Hate to love you

Loved the backstory! I'm a sucker for a "hate myself for loving you" enemies-to-lovers trope. Fander and Flora's story is alternately heartbreaking and breathtaking. Great world building, too!

Flora’s Story

Book three has the kick of loss, grief and evil-doing. There is also the light of different ways of love and support and acceptance. I am lost without another of the Prophecy series to go on with.
