Some of the characters from An Old-Fashioned Man are back! Meet two of Heath's brothers, Cam and Kent, as they meet the woman meant to be theirs. Bryony Andrews has never had much luck-with men or jobs. She's down to her last few dollars when she drives out to the Double J ranch in a thunderstorm to ask about a housekeeping job. Cam is ecstatic. He thinks Bryony is the woman they've been looking. The woman to make Kent smile again. He and his brother enjoy sharing their women, and Cam sees Bryony as a woman they could keep. Forever. Kent had sworn off woman after his last experience with a cheating ex. But sweet Bryony filters through the hard shell he's placed around his heart. Bryony's ecstatic to have a job, but can she handle her incredibly sexy, handsome employees and their very old-fashioned views on how to treat a woman Includes things that may offend some, including light BDSM, spanking, anal play.
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
Cam and Kent are brothers and have shared a woman before. Kent has felt a bit more burnt and figures he'll step back for Cam. Bryony shows up in a storm. They are both drawn to her and she is drawn to them but she feels so bad about herself she can't believe they would really want her. I love how the brothers really fit well with each other to give Bryony what she needed. You could feel how much they loved and cared both for each other and for Bryony. I hope this family will have another installment because the little bit with Frankie seemed like a teaser.
Two Old-fashioned Men is the second installment of the Old-fashioned series penned by Laylah Roberts. In it she chronicles the polyamorous romance of Bryony Sanders, Cameron “Cam”, and Kent Jamieson. The Jamieson brothers were raised to be alpha males with old-fashion beliefs regarding women. They were to be loved, cherished, respected, kept safe, and when necessary for their health and safety corrected. Destiny brings an exhausted and ill Bryony, in need of a job, to their doorstep in the midst of a storm. She is sprite-like in appearance and immediately ignites Cam’s interest. Kent on the other hand is gun-shy since being deceived by their last girlfriend, Delia. Being amongst old-fashioned men is unique to Bryony since her entire life has been one of being used and abused. Can she adjust to their lifestyle? Will Kent ever come to terms with the emotional wounds left by Delia? Will the demons of Bryony’s past continue to haunt her? Will happiness for this threesome be nearby? You must read this book to discover what unfolds.
Once again, did a remarkable job with this age-gap old-fashioned romance. Their characters are multi-dimensional, yet they are vulnerable. Their dialog is outstanding. These qualities endear them to her readers. I enjoy how they continue to showcase the camaraderie amongst a family of old-fashioned men as they journey toward finding their forever soulmate.
This is the 2nd book in the series and its Cam and Kent's story.
Cam and Kent like to share there women. Kent is rougher around the edges and doesn't think a woman could take his heavy dose of dominance without his brother more lighter flirty side to balance out the equation. But make no mistake they both equally believe in domestic discipline. Kent has basically sworn off women since there last relationship when bad. So when on one during a horrible storm a tiny slip of a woman shows up at there door asking for a job he wants nothing to do with her. But it doesnt take long to see Bryony Andrews needs a keeper. She grew up in foster homes and ended up running away from her last one when she was just 16 and has been living on the streets ever since. Cam see's right away that this is the woman for him and his brother to share. Problem is Kent isnt very open at first to the idea but it doesnt take him long before he finally starts warming up to the idea and also her bottom when she doesnt listen.
This was a great menage story. You did feel that Kent and Cam were opposites in many ways but one (the spanking) but together they made the perfect man.
Also in this one we find out that Eva is pregnant and having a hard time with the pregnancy with all her issues and we get to see how Frankie and Tom are doing in there marriage. Frankie is still a brat and has a lot of insecurity issues she still needs to work on.
Down on her luck, Bryony is desperate to secure the position of housekeeper to brothers Cameron and Kent. The brothers allow her a trial period, even though there had been no such position advertised. Soon their thoughts turn to more than housekeeping as they decide to claim her. This story is typical of its type. Once you have read one of this author's books you realise the basic formula is the same. It becomes extremely repetitious.
I enjoyed this book,. Liked book 1 more, would rather have one romance for each brother, to keep the family going. This book was exciting and interesting reading, but think the female could have fought more, seem to give in to quickly for me.But still worth the read and could not put it down. Read for yourself and enjoy. Love the series so far
Two Old-Fashioned Men is the second book in the Old-Fashioned series, but can be read well as a stand alone. Kent and Cam are brothers, co-owners of a ranch, and have always known that they would share a woman. When Bryony shows up for a job position, she’s desperate and surprised to find herself attracted to both men. But will Bryony ever feel good enough to be with Kent and Cam?
Oh my, I loved this romance! There’s a lot of connection building between Bryony, Kent, and Cam before they just jump into their relationship and I loved that while there were some delightful steamy menage scenes in this book, the connection and adoration between the characters remained the focus. Bryony is sweet and a little timid at times, but I love watching as her backbone and confidence emerge within these pages. Kent and Cam have been burned by a relationship before, but I loved that once they decided to take a chance with Bryony, they were all in. Both men were loving and protective, but they definitely had different personalities that shined through. Bryony’s background kind of makes your heart hurt, but I loved how Kent and Cam handled her secrets. This book is really good, entertaining, sweet, steamy, and I definitely look forward to more from this series!
I am in love with this series! Cam and Kent are Heath’s brothers from book 1. Now it’s their turn to find love. Cam and Kent have always shared a woman. But after a heartbreak, Kent is reserved to opening his heart to another woman. But when Byrony shows up on their doorstep in the middle of a rainstorm searching for a job, Cam and Kent are immediately protective of her. She becomes their live in housekeeper and soon the attraction between them is too hard to ignore. Kent is the most dominant of the two and Cam is a little bit more laidback. But they love Byrony with their big hearts and firm hands. And Byrony loves them back for everything they are. If you haven’t read this series yet, read it! You don’t really have to read the first book to understand this one. But characters from the previous do make a small appearance.
I loved this one. Sam the easy going one and Kent the more broody one, share woman and always have done but while Sam is ready for someone new Kent isn’t after being betrayed by their last woman. The consequences had repercussions for the brothers and Kent didn’t want to let it go. Then arrives Bryony, homeless, poor and not doing well in general arrives in the middle of a bad storm and instantly Sam knows she is the one, Kent however is stubborn and won’t accept it. You journey through the ups and downs of the three of them and this minefield of emotions in this new relationship. A good story and I loved learning more about the other brothers in the series, they are all strong alpha men who discipline their women as a means of love and affection so they know they are loved and adored. Aaaahhh!!
This is a very light funny quirky read about two brothers with completely different personalities who love and respect each other deeply so much so that they bought a land and house together, they work and live together, and are hoping to find a woman to love, cherish and protect together. With a fast storm just started they find themselves a little bit on their doorstep looking for a job through hear say as a housekeeper for them. It's a cheesy, happy ending MFM romance with lots of love and personal growth
I absolutely loved Bryony, Kent, and Cam. Cam is such a sweetheart—he plays the confident one well, but if you look closely, you can see the subtle fears and feelings of inadequacy he hides. Kent, on the other hand, wears his past hurt openly, yet he couldn't deny the growing attraction he felt for Bryony. And then there’s Bryony—sweet, misunderstood, and deeply scarred by her past. It was incredibly satisfying to see her achieve her happily-ever-after, not with just one, but two genuinely good men.
Bryony shows up at Cam and Kent’s in the middle of a storm because she was told that they were looking for a housekeeper – they are coming off a relationship that was not good for them – can the resist the pull that they fill for her (Cam’s more sure then Kent). What happens when they find out about her past and what’s going to happen if she runs.
I am glad that Bryony ended up at Cam and Kent's ranch. I was sad for everything that Bryony had been through because she was so sweet. I liked that Cam was so quick to admit he wanted her. I am also glad that in the end Kent was able to be let go. They were all great chemistry and were so good together.
What a wonderful story! Awesome way that these characters interact With each other had me smiling with envy. Just how much they cared and felt for each other is breathtaking. Laylah Roberts has the gift of her characters Make you feel like you are a part of this story.
Two Old Fashioned Men by Laylah Roberts – Bryony is down on her luck and on the move to get away from her last creepy boss when she answers an ad on a ranch for a housekeeper. Cam and Kent may be great ranchers, but they can’t cook for beans. Lucky for Bryony, they know a good thing when it lands on their porch in the middle of a storm. Happy Reading!
Bryony definitely came to the right house, who why drove through the storm looking for the housekeeper job. Kent was walled up, protecting his heart, so he's very standoffish with her. Cam is smitten, almost immediately. What all develops is an unusual relationship. Great HEA ending! Trish. A.
I loved this book I fell in love with the first book but I loved this on just as much if not more I can’t wait to read more I loved the sweetness protectiveness of this hot men love love it
How does a person except that there are men who believe in caring for their woman?
Each old fashion book is well written explaining how each person believes in love, caring and safety. While showing that ignoring your health, safety will always lead to a resident bottom.
Formulaic. Like too many other stories for my taste. Characters didn't feel real to me. Story didn't feel real to me. I love this author but not this story. She has done WAY better.
Everything was actually really good plot and character wise, but there are a lot of grammatical errors. Whomever edited the book missed sentence mishaps and tense issues. To the point i had to reread many sentences over and “fix” them to make any sense of what was written.
What a great second book in this series a lonely woman on her own finds a job with two brothers one cranky and afraid and one lonely but with the conviction that she is perfect for them
Bryony arrived on Can and Kent's doorstep one night during a bad storm. She was told they needed a housekeeper. Kent isn't happy that she is there. Soon the sparks fly. Oh sigh what I wouldn't do to get the attention of two men.
Having two to love, cherish and spank you. There brothers compliment each other and provide all the love and security a woman could want. Ohhh and lid off yummy steamy sex. Yes please
I absolutely loved this hot, steamy, captivating book with exceptional characters in an erotic world that is so realistic it felt like I was on the journey with them. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author that knows how to captivate the attention of their readers
I always love Ms. Rob' books and this is no exception. I'm enjoying the Old-fashioned series but will be pausing because the first book in her new Harem of Daddies series has just come out a and I can't wait to read it!
So cute, I really like this story. I'm not going to lie I really wish we heard what happened with her old boss, his wife and the sheriff but I'm glad it all worked out in the end. I would definitely recommend this book.
Brothers Cam and Kent are still hoping to find a woman to share and love. But even when a young woman knocks on their door in the middle of a storm, they’re wary at first. Bryony is super sweet and needs the love of not one but two good, old fashioned sexy men.
On its own, this book was great. As part of a series, it didn’t quite flow as well. Cam and Kent seem to have switched personalities, and there were a few inconsistencies in the writing. But it was hot and sweet and had all the elements I love about Roberts’ writing.
This story was really straight forward and I appreciate that. It was simple but beautifully shows the deep love between the characters. My favorite part was the unconditional love shared between family and lovers.
