C.S. Duffy writes psychological suspense thrillers with a healthy dose of black humour.
Her background is in film and TV. She has several projects in development in Sweden and the UK, and her thriller feature Guilty will be shot in April 2018 in Canada. She is the author of Life is Swede, a psychological thriller that was originally written as a blog - leading several readers to contact Swedish news agencies asking them why they hadn’t reported the murder that features in the blog.

Layer upon layer of complexity continue to beguile the reader. Just when you think you’ve worked out what is going on, something else happens. The characters are well rounded and believable and there is the ever present wry humour to lighten the suspense. Near the beginning, a main protagonist is in a tense situation but manages to reflect that ‘she wished she came from a less jaggy country’ during an encounter with some thistles. Pure magic. I had assumed this was the last in the trilogy, but it definitely isn’t the end. Do yourself a favour and have a great read.
I was so looking forward to reading the third episode and it didn't disappoint. I really love the way the author manages some good Glasgow humour intertwined with a grisly storyline. Her descriptions of the characters are very real. Lots of twists and turns in the plot. These three books are a good read if you're looking for a gritty Glasgow murder with a touch of humour thrown in!
Just loved this trilogy of books although strictly speaking it's not really a trilogy as it has at least one more book left to finish the story. I hope it doesn't become a never-ending saga of books where it never ends. Love the characters and would be very happy to read about them but with a new case unrelated to the present one. There's only so far to spin this existing story. I felt a bit cheated that it didn't end at the third book and I hope it doesn't become too unbelievable as the ending suggested.
Stumbled across this trilogy and so glad I did. Twists, turns, suspense mingled with unmistakable Glasgow humour and patter make them page turned. Cara and Ruari are excellent, believable characters, and Glasgow with all its contrasts is described with warts and all beauty. Cannot wait for the next instalment
Loved all three of the books. As a glaswegian, the patter, the humour, the city itself was excellent.. I can only but hope that there is another book!! Guan yerself, see barra!!
Just read all 3 books in a row, couldn't wait to see the conclusion , when shock horror it ends on a real cliffhanger. Can't wait for the 4th book to arrive on kindle.
Well I definitely didn't see any of that coming! Much more fast-paced than book 2, I flew through this one, and the twists and turns had me reeling. I'm not going to lie, at times I was kind of confused as to some of the bigger revelations, and where they'd come from, but at the same time they were so entertaining to read about, and I really need to know what's going to happen next in book 4. It's nice when you can well and truly say you have no idea where a series is going - it's anything but predictable!
In enjoyed this series, and held off reviewing until I'd finished the trilogy. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing right up to the end, although there were a fair few typos that I was slightly itching to fix, not to mention a couple of unfortunate incidents where cousins became sisters and brothers became cousins (since they were peripheral characters it didn't really matter, it just irked me)
