Quantum #7

Outrageous

Rate this book
She drives him crazy… In more ways than one.

Every time Leah Holt encounters Quantum Production’s chief counsel, Emmett Burke, the only thing she can think of is how much she wants to lick him. Everywhere. She’s never had that kind of reaction to a man, and the fact that he’s a much-older colleague makes her out-of-control attraction to him far more complicated than it should be. Every day, she brings a new legal question to Emmett, hoping to catch his attention and make him see her as a grown woman who wants him desperately. She walks a fine line in trying to remain professional as the assistant to superstar Marlowe Sloane while lusting after Marlowe’s sexy attorney.

To Emmett, Leah is a fly buzzing around his head who can’t be swatted away. She’s always there, looking at him, asking him legal questions that have nothing to do with his specialty in entertainment law and generally driving him mad with her overt sexiness and sassy mouth. He wants to toss her over his desk and run the sass right out of her, which is hardly the way a professional who loves his job should behave in the office—especially with a young, fresh, sexy colleague. As the author of the company’s policy on inter-office dating, he’s painfully aware of all the reasons he should stay far, far away from her and the tantalizing temptation she represents.

Then Leah gets her chance to step up for Emmett, to help him through an unfortunate “accident” and to show him she’s much more than just a smart mouth and a sexy body. When she realizes she has genuine feelings for him—and that those feelings are returned—she wonders if he will take a chance on her or continue to hold her at arm’s length. Slowly but surely, she chips away at his resistance, and he begins to crave more of her. But Emmett knows if he’s going to let her in, he has to let her all the way in. What will she think when he introduces her to his BDSM lifestyle? Will she still want him the way she does now or will she run away in horror? And what will he do if she runs away?

When Leah confronts a dangerous threat from her past, Emmett is forced to acknowledge that his “annoying little fly” has worked her way firmly into his heart—and his bed.

Also, join the entire Quantum team at the company’s vineyard in Napa for Hayden and Addie’s wedding!

I am tad disappointed with Outrageous. I read Famous before Outrageous. From the blurp, I thought Outrageous will be a funny sweet sassy push and pull between reluctant Emmet and sassy Leah. However that push and pull only shows at the very beginning of this book then disappear.

It continues with a mild BDSM. Then with reluctant Emmet admitting his feeling toward Leah. That is it. There is nothing about longing pinning swoony aspect on this book.

Overall I still enjoy this book OK due to Leah's sassy smart mouth.

3.5 fun, sexy stars stars!

Book #7 in the Quantum series and, as with all of the other books in this series, I have been so excited to get my hands this one. I love the Quantum world, and love diving back into this series which features a group of Hollywood hotshots who own their own production company…. and their own sex clubs. They are best friends who share similar kinks, and one by one they are each falling in love.

Emmett Burke is the Chief Counsel for the Quantum group. Having grown up with Flynn (hero of books #1-3) and Hayden (hero of book #4), he is the best of friends with his colleagues, and there is nothing more important to him in his life than his friends and his job.

Leah is the ex-roommate of Natalie (heroine of books #1-3) who moved from NYC to LA to take up a job as Marlowe’s personal assistant. She has had a rough life, but she loves her work and has been openly accepted into the Quantum circle, and she is relishing in her new life… and that includes ogling and daydreaming about the delectable Emmett.

I want to lick him. I want to strip him naked and lick every hill and valley of his muscular body. I want to know if all his muscles are as big as the ones on his arms. I want to ride him like a cowgirl. And then I want to ride him like a reverse cowgirl.

Me and Emmett Burke? That is so going to happen.

Serious, uptight Emmett is definitely attracted to Leah, but he does his best to ignore it. Not only is he a one-night-only, complication-free man, but he doesn’t want the complication of getting involved with somebody from work. He is also ten years older that Leah and he has certain kinks that he doesn’t want to expose her to. It’s best that he keep his distance… until an unfortunate accident puts them in seriously close proximity and then it’s all on.

“I’ll give you one night.”
She rolls her full bottom lip between her teeth.
“But I have conditions.”
“What conditions?”
“We do it my way or not at all. I’m in charge. And you don’t tell anyone. It’ll happen once, and that’ll be the end of this little fixation you have on me. We’re never going to be a couple of live happily ever after. We’re going to fuck and be done with it.

Emmett and Leah agree to one night only in an attempt to assuage their mad lust for each other. But with one touch it’s clear to both of them that it will never be enough, and oh holy God, their chemistry is explosive! They are literally helpless to resist their attraction, which brings them both to their knees (literally and figuratively). Their irresistible attraction brings an open and honest intimacy between them, and they both begin to open up to each other. And when Emmett reveals his need for dominance and his love of (mild) kink, rather than being turned off, Leah is curious and all kinds of turned on, and the exploration of that….. hot damn!

“Take what you want.”
“You shouldn’t say that to me when you have no idea of the full extent of what I want.”
“Tell me.”
He moves so he’s on top of me, the heavy weight of him pinning me to the bed. “I want everything.”
“Okay.”
“You don’t know what everything entails.”
“I assume you’ll show me?”
He pauses for a long, breathless moment, staring down at me in the fierce, intense way of his, before he appears to make some sort of decision. “Yeah, I’ll show you.”

Leah is an absolute riot! Bold, sassy, confident and absolutely filterless, when she decides to go after Emmett, she does so openly and determinedly. She holds nothing back from him, letting it all out there, and I love her brave boldness.

“Have you ever been in love?” she asks.
The question startles me, and I debate whether I should lie or tell the truth. I go with the truth. “Once.”
“What happened?”
What didn’t happen? “Didn’t work out.”
“I’ve only been in love once, too.”
Don’t ask. Don’t ask. “What happened?”…
“I don’t know yet. I’m waiting to see how it’ll work out.
I choke on the wine. Son of a bitch.

And she brings out a sense of playfulness in Emmett that we haven’t seen before, and that he didn’t even realise still existed. She brings him to life, and I just love the way that he embraces it.

“Look, I like you. I haven’t made any secret of that. This was fun tonight, but I don’t want to be here if I’m not wanted.”
“I believe there was ample evidence of the fact that you’re wanted earlier.”
She shrugs. “That was awesome, but since then, you’ve been kinda…bitchy.”
… “
Bitchy?” I ask in my most sinister tone, the one that has no effect whatsoever on her.
She looks me dead in the eye, fearless and gorgeous. “Yep.”
“Telling a Dom he’s bitchy can get a little sub in a lot of trouble.”
“What kind of trouble?” she asks, her eyes glittering with excitement.

It’s a fantastic dynamic, and so much fun and there are a lot of laughs as the two of them figure it all out. But how will they handle things when it all begins to get real? Neither of them have really done the relationship thing, and their deepening feelings for each other open up all kinds of wounds and fears. There are a few surprises along the way as they both react to the shift in things between them, but on the whole it’s an easy, natural and fast-moving ride for them as they revel in all that they are experiencing together, and it’s so much fun to watch, with lots of steamy time and romance, and a surprising amount of swoon.

“Hold on to me. Don’t ever let go.”
“I won’t let go. I’ll never let go.”

Of course the rest of the Quantum group are a big part of the action, watching with rapt interest as Emmet and Leah finally act on their attraction, and there’s some progression for their stories – most notably for Hayden and Addie as the time has finally come for their wedding. And there’s something brewing for both Marlow and Sebastian, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for what I’m hoping will come from that particular storyline.

I really enjoyed this book. It was lots of fun and I loved seeing Emmett and Leah’s surprising romance play out.

3.5 stars.

5 Star Review of Outrageous (Quantum #7) by M.S. Force
This is book 7 in the hugely successful Quantum series and is the story of Emmett Burke and Leah Holt and oh what a story it is!
I loved everything about the pairing of Emmett and Leah, they are fantastic characters individually but together they are amazing and it made reading Outrageous super easy.
Leah loves her job as the PA to movie star Marlowe Sloane and even more so that she is continuously outs herself in the path of the oh so smoking hot Emmett who absolutely ticks all her boxes. Sure he is older than her with a lot more experience but he draws her to him like a moth to a flame. Of course the only problem is that Emmett is equally determined to keep his distance from her despite the attraction he feels.
When an opportunity falls at her feet, Leah has the chance to show Emmett that there is more to her than meets the eye. Emmett slowly but surely falls for Leah but will she accept the BDSM lifestyle he leads or run? Can Emmett survive if Leah rejects his lifestyle?
The writing is excellent and the characters are so likeable that Ms.Force makes them easy to connect too. I loved seeing glimpses of the others at Emmett and Leah raced towards their happily ever after.
I loved this book from start to finish, it was great catching up with the other couples and I cannot wait until there is another addition to the Quantum series. I highly recommend this book and the series. Although a stand-alone, I feel to get the “story” of the people who make up this “family” of Quantum people it would be best to read them in order. I know you won’t be disappointed.

They have no use for forever. Happy endings are not in the plan. What began as a fiery attraction is beginning to burn out of hand. Outrageous is a battle between seduction and emotion. Emmett and Leah are a force of nature that is hard to contain. Marie Force brings on the heat, with heart and humor coming along for the ride. Larger than life, hard to resist and ready to take the fall. Stylishly sexy with a hint of over the top. Getting caught up is easy when Force is at the wheel.

Outrageous is book 7 in the Quantum Series but every book in this series is a stand-alone full length novel about a different couple and this is Emmett Burke and Leah Holt’s story and what a story they have to tell.......
Leah Holt is PA to movie star Marlow Sloane and that also makes her friends with the Quantum crew she may be the youngest member of this close knit group of friends but that doesn’t mean the 24 year old can’t be attracted or fantasise about Emmett Burke who is Quantum’s chief counsel.
Emmett Burke may be attracted to Leah but in his mind she is way to young to enjoy his lifestyle and that means avoiding her at all costs as there is no way he can act of the sizzling chemistry that seems to spark whenever they are in a room together.
Will this couple work out their differences will Leah be able to convince Emmett age is just a number well i guess you will need to read the book to find that out. As always Marie Force has given us a book with characters you connect with and with a story that’s beautifully written. The group of friends that make up the Quantum group have become friends of mine over the 7 books and I’m sure they will become friends of yours if you give them a chance. Great addition to a brilliant series.

This was a fun read about two secondary characters in the Quantum universe.
Leah and Emmett end up being a much different couple than I expected from the way the book started and I enjoyed the lighter take this story provided. Both characters still come with some baggage - it’s kind of a given with this group- but it doesn’t seem to be the soul ripping variety we’ve seen with other couples. There was a lot of humor in this book and it made the emotional evolution of both characters as pleasure to watch.
Outrageous can be read as a stand alone, but I think it would lose a lot of the punch without the backstory the previous books provide; especially as there are multiple references to events featured in past books. As much as this is Leah and Emmett’s story, it’s a catch up with other characters - and that’s probably my one complaint - there are a couple of places where Ms Force switches to the POV of supporting characters. The deviation from Leah/Emmett telling the story was a bit jarring and did pull me from the story a bit.
This is a series that has been very entertaining- I am hoping to see a book for Marlowe soon!

••••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--OUTRAGEOUS is the seventh instalment in Marie Force’s contemporary, adult QUANTUM erotic, BDSM, romance series. This is Quantum’s in-house attorney thirty-four year old, Emmett Burke, and twenty-four year old, PA Leah Holt’s story line. OUTRAGEOUS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: OUTRAGEOUOS is an erotic story line with scenes of light bondage, spanking, D/s and anal play that may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several first person perspectives including Leah and Emmett OUTRAGEOUS follows Leah Holt as she embarks on a slow seduction of Quantum’s in-house attorney Emmett Burke. For months Leah, PA to megastar Marlowe Sloane, has battled her attraction to Emmett Burke, but not one to stand in the shadows waiting for something to happen, Leah becomes the aggressor as she plays a dangerous game in her attempts to bewitch and beguile Quantum’s attorney. With Hayden and Addie’s wedding only days away, Leah sets a timeline to ‘implement Operation Nail Emmett Burke’. Unaware of Emmett’s passion for the kinky side of life, Leah will be drawn towards a submissive side that is not-so perfect for her dominating personality. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Emmett and Leah, and the potential fall-out as Leah’s past demands a second chance, a chance that endangers our heroine’s life.

Emmett Burke doesn’t do relationships, and has only loved one woman that destroyed his heart. As the chief legal counsel to Flynn, Hayden, Marlowe, Jasper and Kristian, the principal shareholders of Quantum, Emmett is well aware of a fraternization policy, a policy he himself wrote and enforces. Taking a chance with Leah in the hopes of shocking the woman out of her attempts to seduce our story line hero, Emmett grants Leah one-night of passion but one-night will never be enough for Emmett and Leah. When Leah’s past insists on a reconciliation, Emmett becomes her protector but is unable to stop the disaster about to unfold.

The relationship between Emmett and Leah is one of mutual attraction but their ten-year age difference, and his membership at Quantum’s elite BDSM sex club are big deterrents for our story line hero in his potential sexual endeavors with Leah Holt. Leah’s ongoing attempts to seduce and entice Emmett into something more will fail miserably when Leah battles between head and heart knowing Emmett wants nothing to do with forever or a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive with scenarios of light bondage, spanking, D/s and anal play.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar, secondary and supporting characters as the team from Quantum prepare for the upcoming nuptials between Hayden and Addie. Marlowe Sloane has a new man in her life but Sebastian waits in the shadows. Marlowe’s storyline is next in FAMOUS.

OUTRAGEOUS is a sexy, spicy, and steamy story line. The premise is intriguing and enticing; the characters are animated and charismatic; the romance is passionate and intense. OUTRAGEOUS is an intoxicating story with playful and provocative situations that will titillate and tease.

Unfassbar
Quantum, Band 7
von Marie Force
Amazon Publishing Deutschland

I think this is my favorite of the series.

Poor Emmett doesn’t stand a chance against Leah and O.M.G... the butt plug/black eye incident made me laugh so hard and I’ve read that part multiple times.

Outrageous is my first Marie Force book. I have to say that there are some unforgettable scenes that make the entire book. I love the levity they bring to the book.

Outrageous is seventh in the series but can be read as a standalone. Other than trying to quickly catch up with names and couples, jumping in at the seventh book is smooth sailing.

This deliciously naughty book is the perfect way to state your inner "bad girl". Having some fun while falling for the enigmatic lawyer is a great way to start your day...or finish it.

Outrageous was another great addition to this series. At this point, I would usually gush about the hero, how I loved him and so on and on but not this time. Not that Emmett wasn't great, he was, but Leah was something else. She was funny, engaging, crazy (and crazy in love with Emmett) and I loved her and laughed with her from her first paragraph in the story.

Outrageous by Marie Force is book seven in her Quantum Series. Every book in the series is a full length, standalone about another couple without cliffie. The previous books are Virtuous; Valorous; Victorious; Rapturous; Ravenous and Delirious.

Leah Holt is a 24 year old woman, works as PA for a famous movie star and is friends with the Quantum crew.
Emmett Burke is the company´s Production´s chief counsel, a stern man, strict and rigorous. And Leah has a major crush on him. While he sees her as nuisance, too quirky, too young, too not fitting for his tastes; Leah has her sights set on him and there isn´t a thing she can´t get when she wants it. Emmett doesn´t stand a chance against the tiny force.

With Outrageous Marie Force wrote a wonderful story with characters I easily could connect with. The writing is excellent and the story is beautifully thought out, beautifully told and beautifully written. The book contains Odions, a Quantum Short Story.

Hilarious

Usually, books in Quantum series are angsty, serious and drama packed. But this book.. it’s hilarious. Funny and again packed with drama, low angst and plenty of sweet moments. The chemistry between emmet and Leah is hot. Like sizzling hot. Loved reading it. Enjoyed it so much I devoured it in few hours. Couldn’t put down. And I’m always happy to see other characters from the previous books in this series.

I definitely recommend this book.

I’ve liked Leah since I met her in the first books so I’ve been looking forward to this one and it most certainly didn’t disappoint!!

Leah (24) is Natalie’s former roommate from NY and relocated several months ago to LA to work at Quantum as Marlowe’s assistant. From the moment she started at the company, she’s been crushing on our resident lawyer Emmett (34). She met him at Flynn and Natalie’s wedding and since starting her job at Quantum, she’s been nursing her crush and doing everything she can to ask him silly legal questions, all in an effort to spend time with him. Basically, she’s being pretty obvious.

Emmett has never been in a relationship and he likes it that way. He wants his club and uncomplicated and certainly wants nothing to do with a co-worker, much less a much younger one. He refers to Leah as an annoying fly that is constantly buzzing around him but as annoyed as he gets, underneath he’s attracted to her, despite his best efforts not to be.

And Leah knows it. And she uses what she’s got to get herself noticed. Until getting him to notice her leads to a hilarious accident in a pool which has Emmett in the hospital and Leah caring for him there and then later at home.

These two were a delight. Emmett is so grumbly and broody and Leah is brutally honest and doesn’t hide AT ALL her desire to bang Emmett, much to his dismay. I laughed at the banter and natural sexual energy these two had. And I loved watching Leah’s brutal honesty break down all of Emmett’s walls ... he really never stood a chance against her!

This book to me is the funniest out of the entire series. There are some laugh out loud moments that I truly enjoyed with Emmett and Leah.

I also very much enjoyed the fact that we got to see Hayden and Addie get married! And we even got a brief POV chapter from both of them! Swoon! I love those two.

This book has great sexual tension and banter and cranky H coupled with a determined h. Loved it. It’s got a bit of suspense and although the sex is hot, it’s light on the BDSM (well, other than the anal play, which is in every single book so that doesn’t come as a surprise).

Great story!

Outrageous is book seven in Marie Force’s Quantum series. While it is a part of a series, I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone. Outrageous is the first book in the Quantum series that I’ve ever read, and I was not lost at all at any point in the story. This series is a bit more on the erotic side than her other novels, though, so be warned! I will say that as far as BDSM goes, it’s pretty tame compared to some I’ve unwittingly read in the past.

Leah Holt is fairly new at Quantum. Fresh from NYC and a job she hated, she is loving her new life in California. She’s got a fabulous job that comes with fabulous perks. The best of those perks? Emmett Burke. He’s the super hot legal eagle in the office… and she’s desperate for him to notice her as a woman. She'll do whatever she can to make him see her as more than the young, inexperienced girl he thinks she is.
Emmett is totally drawn to Leah Holt… but he shouldn’t be. He’s ten years older and much more… experienced. He’s not convinced Leah can handle his… preferences. But when a freak accident has Leah taking care of Emmett, neither one of them are able to resist their attraction to each other. And when danger rears it’s head over Leah, can Emmett keep her from harm?

So… I do love a good Marie Force novel. But BDSM isn’t usually my thing. However, the series has had some pretty great reviews so I decided to dive in with this book. And it wasn’t as… explicit… as I was prepared for it to be. The characters are likeable, the story line keeps moving well, and the BDSM themes are fairly tame… and sometimes just darn hilarious!

NICUnurse’s Rating: I’m going to give this book 4.5 stars. While it didn’t have me thinking about it long after “The End,” it did have all of the elements I am used to reading in a Marie Force novel. Her stories are usually interesting and fast-paced, with likeable characters who grow along the way. And there’s always just a bit of her signature humor tossed in for good measure. Fans of Marie Force will not be disappointed in this novel at all. Grab your copy today!!

I hadn’t read a Quantum series book in quite some time, but I really enjoyed picking up this one. Although I haven’t delved into this world in a while, I was able to pick up where I left off even having skipped a couple books (and a couple years) before this one. It would work just fine as a standalone, if need be.

I loved the story line and although predictable at times, it held my attention and cracked me up as well. Some parts were a little slow and made the book a bit longer than necessary, but I still like it and I’m glad that I read it. I look forward to the next book and see what happens with another certain character!

Outrageous was a fantastic read. That pulled me in from the very start and never let go. Thanks to the intriguing Emmett and sassy Leah. As well as a storyline that was funny, hot, sweet, captivating and charming. Which made it extremely hard to put down. Plus, I loved catching up with all the other Quantum characters, including Addie and Hayden, whose wedding features in this story. And I'm really looking forward to reading more from this series in the future, and would happily recommend Outrageous to others.

What a fun story. Leah wanted to have Emmett with every fiber of her being. Even if it was only for one night. When he got his package hurt, her friend, Natalie, volunteered her to care for him since she knew Leah wanted him. I will say Leah and Emmett's banter was hilarious throughout the whole book. My husband kept asking what I was laughing about. When Leah's life if threatened, Emmett falls apart, but his friends and Leah put him back together. This book was full of sexy banter, fun banter, sexy scenes, and love. One of Marie's best

Less than mediocre

I’m disappointed in this book. It was entertaining, which is why I gave it 3 stars, but talk about a let down. I’ve been following the series since it’s start and I’ve been looking forward to Leah and Emmett’s story. The storyline seemed all over the place. I couldn’t keep up with the direction. Honestly, since Hayden and Addie’s book, I’ve been less than impressed with the series. It doesn’t seem to really fit into the erotic bdsm genre anymore. Idk... maybe it’s just me.

I did not think I would love another couple as much as I loved Natalie and Flynn but shut the front door.

Leah and Emmitt had me at the first lick.

Leah has been taken out of a job she really should not have been in to a job that is most perfect for her. She was a teacher but after going to her best friend's wedding she ended up with the job as a PA to a Hollywood movie star, who also happens to be another member of the Quantum group. She is thrust into this Quantum family and sets her eyes on Emmitt. She falls for him while he goes over contracts the day she is hired. After that she ends up talking to him all the time with legal questions.

Emmitt has had a very hard time in his past and does not need/want a relationship. He is a member of the "basement" and for now that is all he needs for the person touch, or so he thinks. Then he is caught up in the hurricane named Leah.

This story will keep you in laughter, tears and deep thought. I personally think it is the best in the series. And I very much look forward to Marlowe's story and pretty sure we can all guess who she will end up with.

You can read this as a stand alone but I have no idea why you would. This series needs to be enjoyed by all.

Leah and Emmett have an attraction. It's hot, it's causing her to make up reasons to ask him legal questions...and him to try to find ways around their situation. Because, they also have an age difference.

This bothers him a lot more than it does her. It also bothers him that they are coworkers and he (literally) wrote the company policy against dating amongst employees. Although, as we all know, those policies are put into place in romance titles merely to make sure there is a bit of the forbidden along with the office romance.

So, what's a guy to do to get the girl? Well, he bends his rules and agrees to one night, to get her out of his system. Because that always goes so well and never backfires.

Wait. That never works. And, it doesn't here. The story is a lot of tension, a lot of sex, and some mildly funny moments, mostly at Emmett's expense.

It was an easy, enjoyable read that leaves you laughing and glad that you read it...even though there is not really a lot to the story arc or development of the characters.

I recommend this title as a fun, easy read.
