I’m a big fan of Sawyer Bennett’s “Cold Fury Hockey” series and I must be honest when I say that the “Arizona Vengeance” hasn’t measured up until now. ”LEGEND”, is sexy, heartfelt and even has some nail-biting suspense.
Readers who love a romance with a hot & single daddy, are sure to enjoy this one. Legend and his love interest, next door neighbor Pepper, were introduced in the earlier installments. Their romance started off as ”enemies-to-lovers” but in this book the sparks and intense emotions between Legend and Pepper are barreling forward fast and furiously. It all starts when Legend comes home one night and finds a newborn baby girl in a car carrier on his front porch. From that moment on he turns to Pepper for help and the chemistry between them sparks almost instantaneously.
Legend steps into the role as father to little Charlie with great ease and for a guy in his early twenties, he had a deep maturity level along with a sensitive side that almost had me thinking he was a woman. But that didn’t make him any less swoon-worthy.
We also get a glimpse into the lives of Legend’s buddies and teammates, Tacker and Dax. I can already tell that their stories are going to be extremely emotional and I can’t wait to get my hands on these books!

I love a good enemies-to-lovers story so I was super excited to start this one once it landed on my Kindle. Legend and Pepper had a neighbor feud that started the moment Pepper moved in and disrupted Legend's neat and tidy life. But when Legend's life gets turned upside down yet again, Pepper is the only one he thinks of to ask for help. And from there he starts to realize that she may be quirky, but that he actually likes that about her.
This book was intriguing from start to finish and I loved that it was able to suck me in like it did. I became so invested in these characters and I was rooting for them form the beginning. Pepper was just such a different woman than Legend was used to and getting to see how those differences led to an attraction was really fun. I thought they made a great couple and I couldn't have picked a better heroine for Legend.
There was also some drama thrown in from a secondary character that I thought was a really good addition. It wasn't overly dramatic or out of place, but instead added an interesting story line that grabbed my attention. Overall, there was just so much happening in this story that worked together really well and I think it will have any reader captivated.

4.5 Right In Front of His Eyes Stars

Oh, Sawyer Bennett...Leave it to you to take this series and make it grow and warm my heart. You have switched up how to keep a series fresh and interesting. With all of the books/characters interconnected yet not totally necessary to have been read before, your work is a wonder.
In Legend, we have met this fella and know he has a home he loves which is next door to a neighbor who drives him batty. He was raised by a military father instilling order, discipline, and systems. As a professional hockey player, all of these traits have served him well. He has a specific routine before each game and gives his all. When he comes back from the road or hard-fought games, he is in no mood for cray-cray lawn gnomes on his lawn or hearing the cute pixie singing at the top of her lungs, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
It doesn't help this woman causes little sparks every time he sees her either. She is spunky and always has a smile on her face. This woman even has become pals with his other hockey teammates. They seem to be comfortable with her and now he has this nagging feeling of being left out.
Pepper cracks up when Legend gets hot under his collar when she is in her garden singing. She thinks he is hot as hell and needs to lighten up. She knows he works hard and wants to see him smile once in a while.
Legend comes back from a long day away from his home. It is dark and he sees Pepper is having friends over at her home. He is about to walk into the garage but stops as there is something near his front door he doesn't recognize. After one look, the only person he thinks to help him is Pepper.
From that moment everything changes. Legend has to reevaluate the concept of his life, career, and his assumptions of who and what Pepper is. Nothing will be the same and the shock for Legend is he doesn't want them to be.
Without going too deep and giving everything away, Legend is one fella who has depth, love, and understanding of what it means to be a MAN. I loved him. TOTALLY. I also loved Pepper as well. She knew what she needed and made sure to continue to be who she was before Legend and then with him.
There is drama and it all works. As I said, Sawyer Bennet has the talent to keep me interested in this Hockey Team and the women who love them.

Legend is the third book in the Arizona Vengeance Series. Once again, Sawyer Bennett has proven that she is the queen of hockey romance! With a passionate plot, high drama, and some good old fashioned hockey action, Legend offers another delightful treat that will have hockey romance fans on the edge of their seats! Legend Bay is a star hockey player for the Arizona Vengence. He lives for two things keeping a structured routine in his life and women! When his feisty neighbor, Pepper Nantais, crashes into his life the "frenemies" end up becoming friends and together they find a passionate connection. When a baby is left on Legend's doorstep, he discovers all of the many things he has been missing out on in his life. With a newborn baby, a crazy ex, his attraction to Pepper, and a non-stop hockey career on the line, Legend has to show that he has what it takes to keep his girls and his career.

Legend Bay is one of the best goalies in the NHL. He lives in Phoenix, and plays professional hockey for the new expansion team the Arizona Vengeance. He's at the top of his game focusing on winning the championship when life throws him a curve ball. He arrives home one evening to find a present on his front porch he wasn't expecting. Completely blindsided he turns to his kooky, bohemian, sexy neighbor that constantly drives him crazy with all her tacky lawn decorations. Pepper Nantais would usually be the last person he'd ask for help, but he's desperate. He's always found her extremely annoying, but shockingly she shows him kindness when he needs it the most.
Pepper has had a king size crush on her cranky, smoking hot hockey star neighbor since she first laid eyes on him, but he's never appreciated how she expresses herself artistically. She should feel guilty that she gets joy out of antagonizing him. He's just so serious, and needs to loosen up a bit. She often poked the bear for kicks. Now his world has been turned upside down by a beautiful newborn, and he knows nothing about kids. He's suddenly a single dad, and he's terrified. When he panics and turns to her for help she is there for him.
Pepper and Legend grow closer as they spend more time together. Legend starts to appreciate the things about her he initially didn't like. She's a fun loving free spirit that's whimsical, artsy, and flamboyant. She's not his usual type, but still striking to look at. As their mutual attraction grows, lines get blurred. His life has become so complicated, and right now he doesn't have much to give. He needs to focus on hockey and being a new dad, not be fantasizing about Pepper. Whatever is between them starts out casual and undefined, but quickly becomes essential to him. She becomes important to him as he begins to fall hard for the gorgeous woman who suddenly owns his heart.

I want to read somthing familiar and easy. So when I scrolled down on my TBR, I found Legend from Miss Bennett. I read a lot of her books especially her hockey series.
Although the plot is recyled without any added originality, I found Legend to be what I need this weekend. It was easy, familiar and short. Something I can listened while doing my errands.
The plot is fairly simple. The connection is told instead shown. Not much on the steamy department either.
For me, Legend is a quick read to close my weekend.

“You have nothing to be nervous about. You are wonderful and you could never embarrass me.” Relief wells in her eyes. “Unless you have an extreme case of flatulence at the table, and in that instance, I’m going to have to ask you to sit in the car and wait for me until I finish eating.”
I was 99.9 percent sure Pepper would say yes, but damn if that one-tenth of a point chance she might not didn’t have my body locked tight.
My Review:
I know next to nothing about hockey, other than it is played on the ice and it tends to violent, as the players are prone to brawl. So imagine my surprise when the storylines turned out to be quite sweet. The storylines were well balanced with levity, erotically sensual steam, foul-mouthed characters, mental health issues, intrigue, and a tender yet sexy romance. The writing was observantly insightful and sneakily emotive. I enjoyed watching Legend’s awareness evolve and I found myself becoming quite unexpectedly fond of him, as he was protective and increasingly considerate of not just his innocent child but of Pepper and his struggling teammates. The storylines were briskly paced, well plotted, written with my favorite dual POV, and kept me continually entertained with a pleasantly engaging romance while also tickling my curiosity as I waited for the looming threat to arise.
The main characters were neighbors who had been somewhat at odds and annoying each other for several months as the highly structured and uptight hockey player, Legend, did not appreciate the colorful lawn displays and social lifestyle of Pepper, his somewhat bohemian next-door neighbor. Pepper was free-spirited and had a kind and relaxed personality as well as a creative and artistic flair to her style. I adored her. When her sexy yet cranky pain in the keister neighbor stumbled into her door in panic mode, Pepper did not hesitate to render assistance. Legend was lucky she was so forgiving and generous with her time as his panic turned out to be warranted. A newborn baby had been left at his door in the dark with only a note, and that was only the beginning of the baby mama drama.

We already met Legend and now here's his book. I was excited to see how he would handle being in love with his crazy neighbor! LOL!
And it's such a sweet and adorable story!
They're so perfect for each other. They way she helps him and ugh. I just adored it all!
It even gets very exciting and suspensy ... I might've even cried a bit here and there!
Great Romance!
Tacker is still my mysterious favorite of the bunch of players - we so need to get his story - but he still has a long road of healing ahead of him until he can fall in forever ever love! He's in this book quite a bit - poor guy!
There's a lot of book material still left for us in Phoenix! ☺

In the latest in her “Arizona Vengeance” series, Sawyer Bennett pairs up the sassy, carefree Pepper Nantais and her serious next door neighbor and hot goalie Legend Bay for a whirlwind enemies to lovers with a surprise baby thrown in romance.
Legend is not blind, he recognizes Pepper’s beauty but she also exasperates him like no other. And just when he was about to let her know what he thought of the eye sore that is her latest Christmas decoration, he finds himself asking for her help with bundle of joy that was left on his front porch.
Pepper doesn’t hesitate to go above and beyond aiding her neighbor, not because she’s been attracted to him since he moved in, but because she has a beautiful heart that catches Legend off guard. Soon they’re both knee deep in diapers, loving every minute of spending time together and falling for one another.
I loved getting to know these characters. Legend had a gruff exterior that was hiding a very sensitive side which immediately embraced fatherhood and caused my ovaries to burst. But the best aspect of their story is the reason they go from friends to lovers and he falls in love with Pepper: it’s not her beauty, nor that she’s there to help him out, it’s that she’s smart, funny, caring and challenges him.
The chemistry between Pepper and Legend was palpable since they were first introduced and their romance was absolutely cute, sweet and sexy. And despite the fact that their road towards a happily ever after had some major bumps from outside factors, or perhaps because of them, their happy ending feels truly hard-won and satisfying.
Both Pepper’s and Legend’s family are present and very supportive, but it’s the tight knit Arizona Vengeance team, who are loveable and vividly depicted, who add a wonderful layer to the story and series. It is a great pleasure to catch up with previous couples (include one crossover one) and see what they’re up to and get to meet the heroes that will mostly likely feature upcoming reads.

I am happy to say that I really enjoyed Legend. I had been having a bit of a hard time with the heros in the last few books by Sawyer Bennett. But Legend Bay was not one of them. He accepted his new role with trepidation but was really willing to learn and grow as a parent. He also really saw Pepper and accepted that he was attracted to her. I really liked the natural progression of their relationship and that the angst in the plot was centered on Lida and not bad communication between Legend and Pepper. I also liked how each book in the series slightly overlaps. It's like getting extra epilogues.

Legend me gusto bastante mas que su predecesor. No es una novela perfecta o trascendental pero entretiene que da gusto, ademas me sorprendio gratamente en lo relativo a la pareja protagonista, en un inicio pense que iban a tener una historia de odio / amor como se vio ligeramente en la anterior novela pero para nada fue asi, su relacion aunque un poco precipitada ( con un toque irreal ) me dejo satisfecha.
Las tres partes que he leido son similares, no en cuanto a trama, sino a que todas son ligeras, frescas y su unico proposito es mantener tu cerebro distraido, justo lo que busco ultimamente.
En lineas generales esta serie es ideal para leer entre lecturas mas complejas o intensas, son novelas de una longitud moderada, con poco drama y con romances lindos y simples que te dejan de buen humor al terminarlas.
En fin, Legend me gusto y la recomiendo, encima las escenas con la pequeña Charlie fueron adorables, eso si, me falto un epilogo.
P. D. : Deseo pronto poder leer la novela de Dax, tiene una pinta genial.

I won’t give anything away and you can probably guess what happends, but let’s just say unexpected cirmcumstances brought these two together, and all of the annoyances and irritations quickly flew out the window, and left something in their place…admiration, longing, and an undeniable chemistry. Keeping this real I didn’t think I would like the way this book started. It was a little abrupt. There was supposed to be this outstanding feud between Legend and Pepper but I didn’t really feel it. I felt the quick friendship and then romantic feelings sure but I didn’t really get the feud.
I did like that the book didn’t follow the normal romance timeline you know the one you can pretty much predict what is going to happen next. It was organic and the way Legend is with his baby awe I melted. I liked that he was all in the moment he knew.
I think it’s a double standard for men; the fact that he has to have is papers ready to prove he is the father but also has sole custody. People just assume women have the rights and that isn’t always the case as we saw in this book.
PS. I also loved that some of this book takes place in my city! Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was way cool hearing and seeing in my minds eye where they were. (I used to work before covid at the arena)
I enjoyed the narration, Joe is ok for me I am not really a fan of the way he ends a chapter or a sexy scene its breathy I don’t know I don’t dis like it to the point of not wanting to listen just thought I would give my opinion. Andi is great no complaints.

I enjoyed the narration, Joe is ok for me I am not really a fan of the way he ends a chapter or a sexy scene its breathy I don’t know I don’t dis like it to the point of not wanting to listen just thought I would give my opinion. Andi is great no complaints.

And he is the Legend!
I love this author’s hockey heroes and Legend, well, he easily went to the top of list! He was at the top of his game on the ice even if his neighbor, Pepper, drove him mad with her antics. When his life took a sudden turn, he was surprised how soon animosity changed…
They say opposites attract and that is exactly what happened when these two clashed over pink flamingoes and a, seemingly, very different approach to life. What’s on the surface quickly didn’t matter though when Legend faced a life-altering crisis and Pepper was there to hold his hand, offer sage advice and simply be there for him. And Legend did what he did best. He rolled with the punches and, despite every curveball, was sweet, supportive, sexy goodness. He is what book boyfriends are all about! Deliciously so… Heat, drama and family filled this one-sitting read and I loved every page of it! Oh and though Pepper completely deserved him, I’m sure she won’t mind that he’s mine too! ~Diane, 4 stars

Love, thy neighbor.....unless you think she's a bit crazy and then there's no such thing, LOL!! Pepper gave Legend a run for his money and then some. Their chemistry was intense from the beginning and what a firework show they gave us.
When Legend's life is thrown for a loop rather than running, Pepper is there to help him out. Even though Legend believes he can't offer Pepper anything she wants I could see that his heart had already decided that and he was fighting it. These were were beautiful together, though at times I wanted to knock some sense into them. Sawyer Bennett knows how to makes us swoon <3 Kara~ 4 Stars

I actually went into this Sawyer Bennett book with really no idea what it was about beyond Legend and the neighbor he found annoying from next door. It was a pleasant surprise to find out there was a little baby involved.
Legend finds out he is a father after the mother of his child leaves his new born baby on the front porch of his house. His first instinct when seeing the child is to head straight over to Pepper's and basically say, "There's a baby on my front porch," as he is in total shock. Thus begins their relationship as Legend tries to figure out how to be a father and gets closer to Pepper in the process.
This was a cute romance with a bit of an exciting ending to the book.

This series has very quickly become a favourite of mine. I LOVE getting to know this team and each and every character as the books are released.
Legend's story grabbed me right from the get go. Chapter 1, oh boy oh boy. I instantly messaged my friend and was like...you neeeeddd to tell me when you're reading this so I can see your reactions. I just knew it would be that kind of book.
I truly loved watching Legend grow and mature with the events that happen in this story. And with Pepper along side him, things are lots of fun as well. She also has some depth to her, and its really sweet getting to know the real woman under her quirky lawn ornament exterior.
We also get plenty of time with the other guys on the team who we have grown to know and love. I cannot wait for Dax and Tacker to get their stories. I was already keen, but after events which unfold during this book, I really NEED those two stories now. Please, Sawyer?
We have plenty of serious events and issues taking place in this book, but its all written really well and there isn't any unnecessary angst or anything like that. Everything flows smoothly, follows on well from the previous two books, and leaves things in a great spot for Legend, and with some hints (at least I think so) for Dax and Tacker.
Highly recommend this one!

4.5 Legend and Pepper Stars
This is such an enjoyable series & I feel more invested in these characters with every book that I read. The author makes a note that she does not include an epilogue because we see all the characters in each book so you keep on seeing how their relationships are progressing. It works well in this series , which is quite something for me to say as I am a complete epilogue junkie.
Legend (27) is the goalie for The Vengeance and he has long been at loggerheads with his neighbour, Pepper Nantais (29) . Legend has lived a very free and easy single life but one night he comes home and finds a tiny two week old baby on his front porch. This is his daughter who he knew nothing about..Suddenly Legend' s life is turned upside down and the person who steps up to help is Pepper.
Both MC's are very likeable. They fall hard for each other and there are lots of very HOT moments. There is no conflict between them once they are together and that works really well because there is so much going on around them. If there had been the usual character conflict it would have been too much. It was really refreshing that Pepper and Legend felt like a really strong team.
At one point I cried , but it wasn't for the MC's , it was for one of the other Vengeance players. I can't wait for his book.

The story
At first, I wasn't sure why I felt like this story couldn't get more than 3 stars from me but now I know. I'm a lover of character-driven books, meaning the road the characters take to become a couple is what I'm most interested in. This book is very plot-driven due to the surprise baby and baby mama drama and that's completely fine. But this is exactly the reason why I didn't feel the chemistry between Legend and Pepper. Also, a lot of personal stuff happens off-page (tell and no show). For example, they talked about certain stuff the night before and would just recount things, same with when Legend met Pepper's parents, or when Pepper met the girls Brooke and Blue at the game,.... Even though these scenes may seem small and unnecessary, they are things I would have loved to experience with them; that's what makes me connect to the characters.
On a more positive note though, I loved seeing Legend take on to the parenting-role and I loved all the support Pepper gave him!

I didn’t know what to expect with Legend, but really enjoyed his and Pepper’s story. An adorable baby and watching a growing relationship that started with sex only and blossoms. Legend was good, and I love his emotions from scared to Father bear. Pepper, I know this was a book, but wanted her to have one of her own <~if spoiler-ish sorry.
I enjoyed the audio version of this as well. I thought the male and female did a great job.
CHEMISTRY:
Amazing physical chemistry. Love the car washing scene. I’ve said this before in my book 2 review. Love their physical chemistry, but it still has not rival Bishop’s and Brook’s physical chemistry. There was a section in the book when Pepper was speaking with Blue from book 2 and Blue asked Pepper how Legend is in bed. Like, *eyebrows raised* l couldn’t believe that was Blue asking that question lol and she sounded so scandalous when she asked.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
Of course, what pushed my enjoyment with the series, is the multitude of characters. Tacker, it’s hard to read about him with each book. Dax, eager to read his story not use to him being so quiet as the man whore of the group. Bishop and Brook, so sweet. Love them all.
Overall, another good read and looking forward to completing the series, although I’m thinking of stopping after Dominick, not sure.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

Woot! Another Sawyer Bennett hockey hottie to add to my collection!
Welcome to Phoenix, home of the Arizona Vengeance.
If you have read the previous two book in this series, you have already met Legend and the love Pepper - you might remember how much Legend just looooves his new neighbour (that was sarcasm there).
I will say, I had forgotten about Pepper (not because she is forgettable, it is just my bookzheimerish brain).
However, one flamingos were mentioned, I was all over it.
Boy, this book started with a big WTF moment, and never stopped from there one.
I adore the banter and attraction between Legend and Pepper. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife.
It it not all smooth sailing though, and I had a few more WTF moments throughout this book.
There is great set up for a couple more books too. I hope I have somethings figured out, however I am looking forward to be taking on their journeys - particularly the story of Tacker.
I can't wait to see where Ms Bennett takes us next.

Legend and Pepper were a match made in heaven. They were so different that they were perfect. Legend was all about order unlike his neighbor that broke every HOA rule but still made him smile. They were attracted to each other but never made a move.
Legend had an event that changed his life overnight and Pepper was by his side every step of the way. This pushed them together and there was no turning back. These two were off the charts explosive together. Their relationship was beautiful and funny. Legend loved her how she was and vice versa. There was an incident that was scary and Legend’s reaction was ❤️. He was not about to lose Pepper.
The ending was typical Legend and Pepper and it was simply beautiful.

I've been waiting for Legend and Pepper's story since the sparks started to fly between these two neighbors and the plastic flamingos graced the driveway! I knew this enemies to lovers story was going to pack a punch, but I didn't expect it to pull on my heartstrings as much as it did. Legend can be read as a standalone, but it would be best enjoyed in order since many characters (including the hero and heroine) appear in the previous books.
I'm not usually a big fan of the surprise/secret baby trope, but seeing Legend as a dad really made it work. He often was so serious in the prior books, that seeing him gush and fawn over his little girl, Charlie, really changed my view on him. I loved that he faced fatherhood head on and embraced this new and unexpected twist in his life. Legend and Pepper were such a great couple too! They always had fantastic chemistry, so it was no surprise that things took off when these two started to spend real time together. Their personalities definitely complemented the other and even though things progressed rapidly, it felt organic given their history and current situation. I will admit that at first I was worried that Legend was using Pepper as a crutch, but time and time again he squashed those concerns by being open and honest with Pepper about his feelings and concerns. It's always refreshing when characters don't make drama for the sake of drama and actually talk and work things out as adults. Don't worry though drama lovers! There is plenty of drama to go around in Legend, from issues with the baby mama to teammates in crisis and coping with their own grief and loss. This was a really entertaining read and I love how Sawyer Bennett continues to plant the seeds for Dax and Tacker's stories. I'm positive that Tacker's story is going to rip my heart out. I can't wait ;)
