The First 30 Days: a zombie novel

Rate this book
Bri could think of several instances where being shut in her bathroom could be a pleasant experience. A long bubble bath, candle lit and listening to relaxing music, was one of them. Being naked with a good looking guy, was another. But Bri never figured that she would end up trapped in her bathroom by a roommate who suddenly developed a taste for cannibalism. Somehow, despite the odds, that's exactly what happened. And her stay within was only the beginning of the nightmare that has become Bri's life. She finds herself navigating the zombie apocalypse with a few new friends, making enemies along the way, and learning what it takes to survive those first 30 days.

Fantastic story! The author brings the zombie apocalypse to life. You feel as if you're really there and you're running for your life along side Bri.

Bri is a likeable character, as is Shawn but their relationship moves like snails. Slow and long. They both want to protect one another, but at the same time Bri will make stupid decisions based on her need to stay close to Shawn. Sweet, but in a zombie apocalypse, dangerous.

I love Rex. I'd like to think my furry babies would protect me during an zombie apocalypse (althrough I'm pretty sure my chihuahua would bark until eaten). So having a dog around is good, and also smart.

I liked the story when it was on Wattpad, and I'm glad she got the book published. I can't wait to add this to my collection! Likeable characters, a good story line and how she starts the whole thing is fantastic.

This book is one of the best zombie books I have ever read, I mean I was there from the start of it being written and every chapter is written so well. And I absolutely loved all of the characters. But the thing I loved the most is that the author has written a well thought out book and I have taken inspiration to attempt to write my very own zombie book.
So I wanna say thank you to the author for this amazing book and I'll definitely get a copy of your book!

Loved it. Zombies are my absolute favorite, so I had to check this book out. I was so happy to find this book started fast and kept going. I loved the characters, and it devastated me when people died, but that's what a good book does. It gives you people to care about and then rips your heart out! I can't wait to read the second book! I'm hoping for more from this series!

Extremely action packed!!! Edge of your seat type of writing. I will admit, I’m not much of a zombie person but this novel was spot on. Also, don’t read this during flu season!

The first 30 days is one of the most thrilling, hair raising, panic inducing, blood pumping books I've ever read. Forget the fact that you're going in already knowing it's a zombie novel, because once you start, there's absolutely no way of getting back to reality without first checking the temperature of the person laying in bed with you.

In a world where antivaxxers have become a 'thing', the first 30 days surely gives them a strong leg to stand on with its twisted if not all too realistic take on the zombie apocalypse.

After reading the first few chapters. . . you'll be asking yourself if you'd rather get the flu or live undead eating brains for the rest of eternity.

The first 30 days truly deserves everything that's coming to it. It is an amazing story. 5 stars!

I loved the whole book. It was action packed and very realistic. In some areas it felt like you were there right alongside Bri and Shawn as they fight for their life. The slowly developing relationship is agonising in some parts, where they should just get together but they need to watch their backs. He's sweet but unpredictable and she's reluctant to be reliant on anyway (). It is very well planned and new. I loved the way it started too, with a vaccine meant to save but only caused destruction. By the end you'll be asking yourself whether you would rather get the flu or be turned into a mindless zombie.

I read this book once upon a time when it was first starting up on Wattpad and let me tell you I loved it then and I love it now. I used to not be really into more Sci-Fi related books, but after reading this book I love them. Though this book holds a special place in my heart as I am always looking for another book like this one and I end up not holding on to a lot of books as they aren't as great as this one. With that I want to say Thank You to Lora for writing this amazing book that I enjoy so much, but also I recommend you to read this. I expect you will fall in love with this just as much as I did.

I have read quite a few zombie novels and novellas. This one was good, didn't ramble and went along at a cracking pace without skipping completely over the slower parts.
Some of the characters were a little thin, but then when you are getting to know them in an apocalypse you don't tend to chat about life and philosophy. Bad guys were awful stereotypes. I read this book in less than a day, and that tells me it was mindless escapism, not particularly challenging or thought-provoking. I would have liked a little more detail in some areas, particularly when the action dies down. I'd probably read another book by this author, but only if I need a break from something more meaty.
