In a split second, Landen lost his bike, his job, and life as he knew it in his small Indiana town. After a motorcycle accident turned his whole world upside down, drowning himself in women and booze was the only way to quiet the demons inside him. It was the only way to avoid that deep hole of depression that kept tugging at him.
New to the same town, Tasha spends her time tending bar and taking crap from nobody, at least not anymore. Her past seems to be shrouded in mystery.
Landen finds Tasha behind the bar of his favorite hangout but instead of serving him all night long, like most of the bartenders, she talks to him, makes him laugh, helps him remember what it’s like to be normal. In turn, Tasha finds that the more Landen opens up to her, the more her heart opens up.
Landen and Tasha seek refuge and solace in each other, knowing that each is wounded. Can these two lost souls help each other heal the bruises of their past while creating memories for their future?
m.m. clem lives in a small town, in the heart of Indiana, with her husband, three kids, and her big black dog, Leela. Besides writing, she enjoys reading, photography, sleeping, and watching her daughter dance. When she’s not busy writing or reading, you can find her chauffeuring her kids to band practices and competitions, club meetings, dance practice and dance competitions, or fiddling around on social media. She loves her Netflix, country music, anything sweet to eat, and iced tea. Sarcasm is her second language.
When I found out about this book I didn't know if I would understand the setting of the book because it was the forth book in a series and sometimes when we start a series with a book that isn't the first one, it can be difficult to understand the story, even when it's about different characters. But in this case, I didn't feel that, I now just want to go read the other books because I liked this one.
As you can read in the blurb it's about Landen and Tasha. Side note: love the names! Never heard of Landen before and that was another point in his favor, something that grabbed my attention in the very beginning; and Tasha sounds like the kind of name for a rock star, and in some ways, she was a rock star... The rock star of the bartender world.
Anyway, we have two wonderful characters, both with a complicated past, and we get to enjoy reading about them finding each other through night long talks, laughs, friendship and then love. How perfect is that?! Although the past and their wounds are in the way, the fact that they keep talking was fantastic to me.
I love reading about their interaction, about how they were trying to get their lives and their minds back on track, back to feeling normal, being hopeful about the future and trying to create new (and better) memories. And honestly I sometimes feel like I need this: the connection with another human being outside my group of friends. That was what made me enjoy the book so much. I created empathy with them, I could understand what they meant and felt, in some degree of course.
Of course there was chemistry between them, of course it had this falling in love aspect... but it was life for me. They both needed each other, the friendship and the "I'm listening and I'm talking to you. I see you." type of relationship. If that turned in to a romance... Well... I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to books. So I don't really mind.
I'm now excited to read the other books and understand the titles of the books, because they are fun and caught my eye when I saw them. Especially this one... "Closing Time", for me it's about closing the past in the past. About closing that book and opening a new one. Closing the time of bad memories and making new ones. If I'm mistaken, I don't care. I like this idea.
Over all, loved this book and I'm so glad I was able to read it. And I do recommend the book.

This was my first story by this author and I wouldn't be adverse to reading more. I obviously have not read any of the other stories in this series, and at some points felt a little lost with all of the other relationships in the story. This seems to be a pretty solid group of friends/family and those connections make stories interesting to me. I would be curious to go back and read the previous 3.
The story begins by throwing you directly in, there is no gentle beginning here. Drama from the word go, which in turn pulls you in from the start.
The back and forth pull between Landen and Tasha is interesting. The reader spends a lot of time in angst waiting for these two to finally get together, but when they finally do, there is no disappointment. Add in a little drama and this is one read that you will realize you just binged from beginning to end.
There seems to be a little mystery with Tasha's sister brewing and I am pretty interested to see what that is all about.
Overall, not a bad read...would read other stories by this author and looking forward to what is next for this group of friends.

Synopsis:

It was the only way to avoid that deep hole of depression that kept tugging at him.

This was my first story by this author and I wouldn't object to reading more books from her. Because it's the 4th book in this series I was little afraid that I wouldn't understand it, but that didn't happen to me. Usually I like to start series from book 1, but this cover and blurb attracted me and I was not disappointed. I was hooked on the story from start to finish. Can't wait to catch up on other characters that I fell in love with while reading.
Landen and Tasha were amazing. I sensed that there were history between them through the first three books, so flashbacks and the their thoughts helped me to get to know them. I really loved their connection and the way they were with each other. In some ways they are similar: both are afraid to trust and let somebody in because they were hurt. It's not easy to trust or to let people in once you had that trust broken. Both Landen and Tasha have complicated past but they find themselves through friendship, being together and trying to feel normal. They are so complex and good for each other. I love that they are trying to overcome the obstacles together and are there for each other. I love the way they fell in love.
Such an enjoyable, quick, passionate read and a page turner.
I must admit I did not read any of the other books in the Time series prior to reading this one (I won this in a giveaway). The story dis not get good for me until the middle of the book. When things started happening with Kenny being in the apartment and getting g shot by Drake. I didn't like how most of the characters were older with Landen being in his 40's so my mind had a hard time accepting the story. He acted way younger than a 40 something year old with drinking and sleeping around (I get it was his way of masking the depression). I know he had a TBI from his motorcycle accident but still it was kind not very grown up behaviour and his flirting was juvenile. I was disappointed that Keisha didn't open up to Tasha before the end of the book all the signs point to her being pregnant by Kenny. Overall it was an ok book just not my usual go to read.

This was my first read from M.M. Clem. I liked that it could stands alone or be a part of the series. For me this book was just ok. I did really enjoy how it pulled me in from the very beginning with the drama. I quickly became very curious about the characters (not sure if it would've helped if I had read any of the other books in the series) and their back stories. The ending left something to be desired for me in regards to what's happening with Kiesha. For me, this was good but not great.
This book was a little harder to read than the previous ones in the book because the author was trying to keep them as stand alone, so it caused her to have to include a lot of information that had been in the previous books. She did this pretty seamlessly. I really love how these books tie the characters in but this is the first one that ended with quite a cliffhanger!

This was the second book in this series that I have read, and I really enjoyed it. Landen and Tasha both have a lot of obstacles to overcome but they have a lot of good friends to help them figure it all out. I need to go back and read the first two books of the series as well.
This happens to be the first book by M M Clem I’ve read it’s book 4 in The Time Series and it’s about Landen and Tasha. There is so much chemistry between them. A passionate and emotional tale. A page turner. The story draws you in from page one.
I read this book without having read the previous books in the series. It could easily be read as a standalone or as part of the series for a richer experience. The characters were good, and storyline kept me turning pages.
Another page turner in this series. Landon is rebuilding his life when he meets Tasha who is trying to escape her past. I could not put the book down as they had so many obstacles. I reccomend all of this series. I am getting attached to each character. Keep the books coming!
