Without giving anything away I will say...... This book is AMAZING! I love it, hard <3
Thirty days is not just an average typical love story kind of book. You'll feel all the emotions- I was crying my eyes out one minute and laughing in the next. You connect and relate with all of the characters in some way. For Abi, she has had her share of heartache for a few different reasons. As a result of that, she believes she is cursed. You will feel for her and just want to give her the biggest hug. But, she's pretty hilarious too. The way she talks and acts and trips over anything will have you laughing and relating to her clumsiness... ( or maybe just me! )
Sammy who is Abi's go to person is seriously the best... Everyone has there own version of a Sammy in there life and if not, you need one! Sammy's unconditional love for Abi is what friendship is truly all about. Helping each other through the hardest times that life throws at you and loving each other anyways.
Then there is Marcus... Abi is completely drawn to him but she doesn't know why she feels all these emotions so hard for someone she has never met before... Then, right when you think you have the story all figured out, you get a twist dropped right on you! Bam!
Seriously, read this book. Belle Brooks is amazing! Her writing is incredible and you will not be disappointed... You will need Part 2 because it leaves you freaking out and needing to know what the heck is going to happen next!! <3 :-)

First things first ... the book title says Part 1 ... yes kids, that means the journey of Abigail and Marcus will not conclude in this book, so please no bitching and moaning about the whole cliffhanger thing. Belle Brooks deserves top notch recognition for this debut novel, so no down rating because "you hate cliffhangers." THANKS :)

Alright ... now for the good stuff ... it's going to sound a little cryptic because the story has many little twists to it that you shouldn't know about before you read for yourself, but know that whatever you think you're reading ... may not be exactly what is ... that's all I will say on that. And the build-up is phenomenally done.

Abigail is in a lot of what I would refer to as turmoil and Belle Brooks does an excellent job of characterizing her in a light where she is real and relatable. There's a little bit (or a lot) of Abigail in all of us. And the girl is lost. Her life is not going as she would hope, it's really just one hot mess lol ... but you will love her. She will make you laugh and smile and sometimes maybe a little twitchy, but you will relate with her easily. And then Marcus comes into the picture **swoon** to save the day ;) (maaaaaaaaybe lol)

Overall, there is nothing to not enjoy about this story/book and I applaud Belle Brooks for her debut novel and look forward to more Marcus and Abigail AND maybe some Sammy (hint hint) in the future!

You know how as a reader sometimes you grab books because you have seen them somewhere, but you have no idea what they are about? That for me was Thirty Days- Part #1. I had seen advertised Thirty Days Part #2 and grabbed a copy and then I figured that since it was Part #2, it would be vital for once to read this series in absolute order, so I went and grabbed Part #1. I had no idea what it would be about, and all I did know was that the author was Australian and new to the scene of authors. Going into the book and seeing the words Part #1, I do have to admit I imagined this book to be a quick read as often Parts are quite small and on the same par as novellas. This was not the case with Thirty Days, and I also have to admit, I found it took me a while to read, and I am normally a fast reader, but there was just something about Thirty Days Part #1 that took me longer than usual. We first meet Abigail who is nearly thirty, and she is dumped by her fiance Mike. Abigail takes it with stride as her friends beg her to wallow, but six months later everything turns to custard as Mike gets engaged to someone else, her dog dies and she loses her job. This sends Abigail into a downward depressive spiral. Her friends step up and form an intervention as seriously; they have had enough of her Debbie Downer attitude. This leads to Abigail aka Abi getting a job at one of her friend's Dad's firm where she meets a cute guy Marcus Klein. As the book goes along, we read as Abi and Marcus have an amazing chemistry but she keeps dismissing it, and this is where I wanted to strangle her. I have to admit that during this book, I got annoyed with Abi and her attitude as it was like - really, get over it. Bad stuff happens to everyone, stop your damn moping and grow up. Thirty Days -Part #1 gets exciting in the second half as we discover that everything with Abi and Marcus is not what it seems. I shall leave it at that as I don't want to spoil the AAHH moment for you, all I can say is I did not see that coming. The way it ended, I now can't wait to get stuck into Part #2. I will, however, say and let you know readers that Thirty Days - Part #1 does have a lot of Angst in the book and is slow in places and fast in other parts especially as it speeds up when you start to get to the gritty parts of the story. I will end the review with if you loved The Opportunist series by Tarryn Fisher, then you will love Thirty Days -Part #1 by Belle Brooks.

Abigail is completely convinced that she's hexed. She thought she had the perfect life until her finance tells her that he can't marry her. Abi actually took it like a champ at the time, but months later, she finally snaps when her dog dies on the same day that she found out her ex is engaged to marry someone else. She was put on a leave of absence from her job for tripping out on a student, and can barely get out of bed now. Her best friend, Sammy, has had enough of the pity party, and stages an intervention. After that, Abi finds herself with a new job at a law firm when she meets Marcus. She had talked to him the day prior, but didn't know anything about him. No matter how hard she tries to stay out of his bed, the sparks flying make it impossible, so she hooks up with him. But it turns out that Marcus is hiding secrets, and when they come out, will they finally destroy Abi for good?

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS A DEBUT BOOK! Yes, I'm cueing the dramatic girly girl emotions for this review, as they won't be denied! I started this book with eyes wide open to the Part 1 portion of the title, so I knew I was going to be left hangin somehow, but OMG! That ending had me dropping f-bombs every which way from Sunday, and I really wish Amazon would let me use them to get my dramatic point across. But since they won't, I'm giving Belle Brooks a one way ticket to the list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD, and she's earned the hash tag of #EVILWHORE forevermore! Yeah, even knowing a cliffy is ahead didn't take away the f-bomb OMG reaction. The character development is fantastic, with a colorful cast of secondaries. The dialogue between Abi and anyone had me laughing until my sides hurt, as she had a way with words. Belle Brooks' diabolically talented writing style had twists and turns for days, and I swear to all that is holy, I almost messaged her with some serious name calling. I was held hostage cover to cover, as the story is amazing, no matter how many OMG moments out of left field throat punched me. So bottom line, I NEED PART 2 so badly that I may or may not be lurking on every social media account of hers until it comes out! Even though I'm still cussing like a sailor, I have to completely and utterly HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Thirty Days Part 1 to EVERYONE!

Review:
Totally hooked. I knew going in that this was part 1. Yes there is a cliffhanger, and I really don’t want to wait to see what happens. This story was so good. For a debut book the author did a great job. I never knew what was going to happen next. I am still not sure what will happen, but I can’t wait to find out.. The plot of this book has Abigail making her way through life as one tragic event after another messes with her life. Convinced that her life has had a hex put on it Abigail would like nothing more than to spend the rest of her life in her bed, but her friends have a better idea. Forced to go on a job interview at a friend’s father’s law firm. Abigail starts a new career once she is hired. She is making new friends and her hot new coworker is causing feelings that she hasn’t felt in a long time. The chemistry between Abigail and Marcus is magical, but there are so many secrets to be uncovered that I am not sure what is going to happen next. The story moves along very quickly. As I mentioned the ending is a cliffhanger. Like Abigail we are learning so much about the characters in this story.

OH MY GOODNESS!! How does one explain how much they love a book without giving anything away??? How about I just tell you how much I loved it with no summary because a review shouldn’t be a rewrite of the synopsis by the reader but our reactions to the book. So that is what you are getting. :)

First, I just looked at the page count on this bad boy and realized it wasn’t a novella, it is a OMG can’t wait to turn this 264 pages. How did the end come that quickly???? I flew through this book once I started and hated the end was approaching when I saw the percentage.

Thirty Days has suspense, mystery, love, heartbreak, romance, humor, ummm and I missing something I’m sure. It is a fantastic story that you will not expect what is to come. How wonderful is that right? It is so rare to ready and not be able to predict the storylines but Thirty Days will have you gasping along with Abigail. In shock! Unbelieveable shock! Although, some heartbreaking moments you will get plenty of giggles and full out belly laughs I promise! I FLOVED IT! I can’t stress enough how you should 1-click it right now got ahead but finish my review first. I will accept your thanks now.

What a fantastic debut Belle Brooks. Congratulations and all that fine jazz but seriously Dorothy, Belle you are my Dorothy, I need book 2 like two days ago. Chop chop I am not a patient lady. Editing done, why is it not on my kindle?? Jus sayin….

This novel has received quite an overhaul, and I for one, am very happy about that!

There is still a lot going on, however, the story is faster paced, and there are more clues to Abigail and what is going on with her. Of course, realizing that she has retrograde amnesia is not easy for her. Especially because her best friend, her mum, and other people have been keeping the truth from her. This is apparently something that is common - amnesic people should remember on their own, so as to not make anything worse for them.

There is a love story here, and I have the feeling it's going to be a big one! Marcus was left behind when Abigail lost her memory, but he wasn't the only one. Of course, the fact that he's back in her life now helps her remember small things. But at the same time, this is all very stressful and difficult for Abi to deal with.

Thirty Days is written from Abi's point of view, and she's an unreliable narrator to say the least. At the same time, this helped me as a reader. Because it makes me understand how she feels, and how hard she is trying to remember her past.

I can't wait to read more!

This is not your typical romance, and when you start it, you think ok so an office romance, something needs to happen here to knock my socks off !

And then something did !

I found that this book flowed really well, but for it was a slow start, but as the book continued, my assumptions fell by the wayside and my intrigue into the characters took over !

A great start to a series

Belle Brooks is a writing genius. She had me hating a character but feeling sorry for them by the end! I can't bear whiney , dramatic , hysterical women and Abi is one of them. Her life is a mess and everything is a drama , I spent a lot of my time shouting pull yourself together women. However, the fact this book is well written I couldn't put it down no matter how much I dislike Abi.
Marcus is sexy and adorable. The friendship between Abi and Sammy is really beautiful and endearing and the twists have kept me from putting this book down. Starting book 2 right now

This book has pulled at all my emotions. I felt everything so clearly and identified with Abi so much that I.was in tears throughout. I don't know how Ms. Brooks did it but I was was brought back to things in my own life.
I can't wait to read the rest of this trilogy. I give this book 20 stars because not only is it brilliantly written but it has been a long time since a book has taken my emotions hostage like this one has.

Wow!! This book......what do I tell you about this book without giving anything away? Let me start with the fact that it has a phenomenal story line. This plot will blow you away because just when you think you are reading an average romance, you figure out you're NOT! It is so much more than that. That this is Belle Brooks' debut novel says that she should have been writing well before now and had better not quit.

Thirty Days starts with the heroine quite literally face first in the dirt. Abigail McMillian has had it rough lately. Or, according to her, always has as she believes she is hexed. Though flashbacks and current happenings, Ms Brooks paints a pretty grim few months for Abi and you can completely understand why she has had a cocktail or 1200. Luckily for Abi, she has a strong group of friends and her Mum to help her get herself straight and even get her a job where she meets Marcus, swoon-worthy, cryptic, enigma Marcus. This is where you start to realize that things aren't as they seem and wonder if Abi really is hexed.

I absolutely enjoyed Ms. Brooks' writing style. Her characters have depth and a true to life feel, from the leads all the way through to every secondary character. You can connect with Abi's heartache and Sammy's (Abi's best friend) want to help her friend immediately. Belle strikes the perfect balance between inner dialogue and character interaction with the story moving along effortlessly. Ms. Brooks builds the suspense and intrigue very well and when the truth comes to light, it is both shocking and makes the little hints given make sense.

A note for those who don't like them, this is a cliffhanger as the title suggests BUT I would recommend that you set aside that prejudice and read this one. You will not be disappointed and will be clamoring for the next book, as I am. Write Ms. Brooks! Write!

I received a copy of this book from Quirky Blind Date with a Book for the month of September.

Abigail is hexed, cursed, the world is out to get her. Normally she can pull herself back up and stay positive, but not anymore. Her fiance left her the day she bought her wedding dress, her beloved dog passed away, she was put on an extended leave from her job, what can possibly happen next?

When she meets Marcus Klein she’s immediately drawn to him but she doesn’t know why. She is completely confused by her emotions around him. She tries to keep her distance but when a business trip forces them together more questions arise of who he really is, and why she feels like she knows him from somewhere. But how can that be?

This book was seriously one of the best debut novels I have ever read from a new author! The writing style was fabulous, the characters were well thought out, and the plot was well driven and kept you on your toes and guessing what was going on.

The book was a little bit of a slow start for me, but once Marcus came into the picture, it picked up and I couldn’t put it down. The book keeps you guessing about what is going on, and just when you think you’ve figured something out, it turns you in another direction. The gist of what you think is going on is correct, but the details of why and how keep you thinking and guessing till the end.

The story of Abigail and Marcus is so emotional and written so beautifully, I can’t wait for the next book. (And because she left it on a cliff hanger @_@) You seriously need to give this author a chance and read this book.

Abigail thought she had the perfect life. She had a fiancé who loved her and she was on a road trip with her best friends on her way to buy her wedding dress. She couldn’t be happier, but then life doesn’t always go the way we plan, does it?
What do you do when your life has been hexed? You lean on your mum and your friends. At least, that’s what Abigail did when her life spins out of control and she believes she has been hexed. Will an intervention staged by her friends help her get her life back on track or will it spiral even more out of control? Will a new job at a successful law firm be the answer? Who is the mysterious Marcus and why is he so interested in her?
This is Belle Brooks debut novel and she takes the reader on a journey that will make you teary as Abi tries to get over her heartbreak. There were so many elements I loved about this book. Abigail evokes so many emotions. She made me cringe, she made me smile and I often had a little chuckle especially when she and her best friend, Sammy, got together. Marcus made me swoon, but he also made me wonder.
Belle Brooks words flow across the pages and once you start reading Thirty Days, you won’t be able to put it down. Unfortunately, it ends with a cliffhanger, something I’m not normally fond of, but I guarantee after finishing Part One of this series, you will be looking forward to reading the next one.

One minute I was reading an office romance..boy meets girl..well hot, mystery guy, Marcus, meets quirky, feisty girl, Abi, and the next I had fallen down a rabbit hole of loss, heartache and stolen memories. I read this intriguing story a few years ago, and this new, revised version has lost none of its charm and fascination.

It is difficult to write this review without giving too much away...I have to say that for the first half of the book I wasn't keen on Abi, she was too smart mouthed, too jaded, and her decisions seemed to lack any common sense...but then slowly and surely the author begins to reveal a different reality for Abi and the true tragedy of her situation starts to become apparent.

This story is filled with wonderfully written characters and there is plenty of humour and love... it’s an extraordinary book, and if you are unsure to start with because, like me, you find Abi irritating, just keep reading; it is truly worth while. A word of warning, there is a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers at the conclusion....but thankfully, the next instalment is already on its way... An excellent 5 star read. I received an advanced copy of the revised edition of this book from the author.

"Marcus' grip holds me frozen. What is it about this man that makes me surrender? As quick as his arms release their hold, his hand clasps min firmly, keeping me in place."

5 stars!! Quirky and fun read!

This book was such a joy to read!!! I loved the whole idea of the book and the characters made it that much better! Abigail is convinced she's hexed since nothing good ever seems to go her way. But her luck seems to change when she gets a job at a law firm and she meets Marcus, where she seems to fall into his grasp, and lap.

This book was deeply entertaining and I loved every page of it! This is Belle's debut novel and if this is just her first book I can't wait to see what else she throws our way!!!

Abigail McMillian knows she must be hexed. Her fiancée jilted her, her puppy passed away, and she and her mother mourn the all to early death of her father. She's not coping well. She's struggling to make her life worth living. She's hit rock bottom. Her friends intervene and land her a job, after she was put on leave from her school teaching position. Just one more nail in her coffin. Abi’s world turns upside down with a vision of dark brown eyes so familiar, yet new to her. While less than a few hours into her new job, Abi can't figure out why this new man feels like home.

Belle Brooks brilliantly weaves together a dark tale of innocent duplicity. Brooks tells her story through Abi's eyes and genuinely evokes the emotions in her reader's, diving deep into the mental psyche loved ones will go to in order to protect those they care about. She unfolds each puzzle piece to Abi’s delicate situation like a magician performing an intricate trick. The masterful twists and turns Abi’s world takes create a very complex character with multiple layers of depth. Excellent read, terrific character development, and very chilling unraveling of a life needing to be lived.

Book About Me?! Must Read

This is the first book that I've read by this author and I'm already a nice stalker lol! This is not a standalone as I'm sure you can tell by the title, and it ends on a nosedive of a cliffhanger! I can't wait for the next book and to see where Belle Brooks takes us in this journey! I'm so thankful for quirky blind date with a book, or I would have never found this! This book had so many emotions running through me! I was full blown crying, one minute, to laughing so hard that I spit water across the room several times! Abigail believes she is cursed, from the second she was born, and the nurse was probably the one who hexed her. Now you will have to decide whether or not you agree with Abigail on this, when you read it! She has a best friend, Sammy, who is sometimes a drill sergeant. I love her too! There are so many more characters that are important and there's no time to tell you all of them, plus that would lead to spoilers, which I don't do! When it comes to Abigail's luck and personality, I swear the author was writing about me! Is Abigail hexed and/or cursed?

Five Fantastic Stars! Abigail has had a rough time of it here lately she feels like she has been hexed. She is thankful for her support system which is made up with her great group of friends and her mom. She then starts a new job and we meet Marcus. Who is Marcus and will Abigail turn her life around? This is Ms. Brooks debut novel and she does a fantastic job writing the story. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not put it down. The story is full of mystery, romance, suspense, heartache and of course love. The characters are full of depth and you will truly feel for Abigail. Be warned though this book does end in a cliffhanger that will have you anticipating Part 2. Highly recommend It!

I will try to leave a review without letting all the secrets out about this book but I really want to tell all the twists and turns because they took me by surprise when I read them and I just want to share my love for this story. Abigail is having a rough time finding her sparkle. Life has not been easy for her but she has great friends and family that encourage her to keep trying. She meets Marcus at work and the two are amazing together. Maybe life is looking up for Abigail but that is usually when the past rears its ugly head. This story was as much a mystery as a romance and once it began to fall into place I was overwhelmed but loving every minute of it. This does end on quite a cliffhanger so be warned but do not let that hold you back from reading it or you will miss out on a great story.

Powerful!

Wow! Didn't know what to expect when I started this debut novel. I started following the author on Facebook because I loved her positive posts. Having then discovered she had written a book I decided to read it. I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster this book took me on!
We are introduced to the main characters of Abigail and Marcus. Abigail is feisty, dramatic and very funny. She has a circle of friends and a best friend called Sammy who love her and look after the clumsy Abigail. Later on we are introduced to the charming and downright gorgeous sounding Marcus who I think could be my next book boyfriend! I'm not Australian so it took me a while to get used to some of the dialogue but don't let this put you off. Its a dramatic roller coaster of a book with a very dramatic ending! I can't wait for book two. Well done Belle. Xx

I received this book from a giveaway and just over 24 hours later I'm finished and now have major book withdrawal.
I could not put this book down, it's one of those that you think just one more chapter even at 3 am. The story is so well written it just flows and pulls you right in. With Abi and Marcus you just fall in love with the characters, just when you think ahhh I know what's going on it twists and you dont. Lots of oh no moments and Oh Yes moments with just enough sizzle. Warning it does end on a cliffhanger ( I almost threw my kindle across the room ) but I have been told book 2 is on its way soon and this will definitely be on my to be read list as soon as released. Thanks Belle Brooks for an amazing read.

Abigail McMillian has had it rough lately. Or, according to her, always has as she believes she is hexed. Though flashbacks and current happenings, Abbi has had a pretty grim few months surely you can understand why she has had a cocktail or 1200. Luckily for Abi, she has a strong group of friends and her Mum to help her get herself straight and even get her a job where she meets Marcus, swoon worthy and you start to realize that things aren't as they seem and wonder if Abi really is hexed.
You can connect with Abi's heartache and Sammy's (Abi's best friend) want to help her friend immediately.
